DS UABW hate light skinned UABW because we get to say we're black and get accepted as black and get all the benefits of being black, such as you can say you have melanin, you can say you have black girl magic, you fit into black spaces, ride the natural hair trend etc.basically benefit from everything that's black but everything that's negative about being black doesn't affect you such as the negative side of colorism.
So you get the positives but none of the negatives.
It's a love hate relationship imo.its like your one of us but not one of us.

They try and humble you by reminding you that you're not thee lightest skinned person they've met, yet they don't treat you like their own. The mean looks at first sight, boycotting Women who look like you in media, using you to meet Men in social settings, and asking you to dumb your looks down is what's to follow.

right, they use phrases like "youre not that light skinned" and they love pointing out people lighter than you. but who IS the most light skinned? you'd have to be white passing and we all know there are plenty of light skins who are not white passing so theyre being disingenuous. theyre just trying to invalidate your identity

Yes. She’s going to grow up and “benefit from colorism” just like her mother. People only call her brown because of her facial features and hair. Telling me "You're not light skinned" like I never said I was. I've never mentioned my complexion yet yall do... Some of these women would date men that I was seeing, and the men would leave me for them just to come back soon afterwards once they realize it was just s3x. I’m glad this was discussed, and I’m so thankful for channels like this. I have a similar complexion, and full features like Chloe and Halle, but with curly hair. I’ve told people in the past of how mean mono racial ds people are to those of us who have their features, but are light skin. DS mono racial people have a tendency to test our blackness, and see how we’ll react to that behavior. They aren’t nicer to us, because they can relate to us as another black person, as some people believe. As mentioned, all the advantages of being black is there as a lsbw, but having more access to getting something “easier” than they can produces a lot of hate. As much as they want to humble us and call us brown, as I look around the room with other black people, I’m usually one of the lightest ones. The difference in our complexions are very noticeable

I believe we are so hated because it’s the closest thing unambiguous women can closely identify with the most, if that makes sense. For example, I dated this guy and his mother who was dark skin HATED me for absolutely no reason. I was confused at first because I didn’t know bp hated lsbp over skin tone. I grew up around white ppl. He told me she would refer to me as “I thought I was all that”, and he would splurge on me and she would tell him I wanted him for his money etc. mind you this woman was in her 50s and I was 19. We broke up, and some time later we reconnected. Between that time, he dated a white girl who the stuff his mother forbade me to do, she allowed the white girl to do. By the time we reconnected I was pretty familiar with the colorism subject. I realized the terminology she used against me is typical dark skin to light skin slander. They envy our natural confidence and how they see us as being easily accepted in the world over them. They see us as some form of competition and that if they do this and that, they have a chance to compete with us. These women view the world as who they can compete with. I realized after that, dark skin black women hate light skin black women more than they hate white, latina, and Asian women. That wasn’t the only instance of a non bw being involved in a situation. As weird as this may sound, I’ve realized black men have children with 1. women they’re attracted to or 2. Reproduce with a woman to have daughters that resemble the women they’re attracted to. Most bm want to be with light skin/ mixed black women, but get rejected by us more times than not so they go with the next thing, having babies that look like us. I’ve heard actual fathers of BiR women say to their BiR daughters, “I look good with you(their daughter) next to me (the father).” WEIRD! But when you think about it dsbw fo it too!

    • @ExoticalsUnited
      @ExoticalsUnited  Год назад +36

Yes and I believe that women who obsess and behave like that are generally women who have centered men’s opinions, even if that man is her own son. A lot of BW treat their sons like surrogate husbands and they enjoy birthing sons because they enjoy the free male validation they will receive from having a boy child.

I was hated by both dark skin blacks and whites out of pure jelousy. Dark skin blacks are so j3louse of us they are very quick to claim us among non blacks and say we are black also because of there own insecurities of jelousy knowing we are not them. Whites hate us because of our lightskin admixture and will side with the blacks against us in bully tactics to make us feel low and make us believe we are on the same footing as the darkskin blacks . The truth is we lightskin are a seperate race from both, we are inbetween and are not them. Let us lightskin form a separation from them all, we are the lightskin race

I notice how a lot of things are different depending on skin tone and who gets away with saying things too. Foxy Brown (the rapper) who is dark skinned but mixed, says a lot of "featurist" things about having keen features and her hair grade being "good" and makes fun of women who use edge control/gel to do their baby hair. If a light skinned mixed woman said the same thing, she'd be cancelled. LisaRaye said something about Blu Ivy's hair being 'untamed' (how she views "nappy" hair) and everyone dragged her. Foxy Brown for example constantly brags about her features and hair texture even clowning other dark skinned women who have different hair texture or she thinks she looks better than. JT (who isn't mixed but dark skinned) does this all the time on twitter too. Asian Doll (the rapper) does this as well. They call other dark women "crispy" and other names but don't get cancelled.

skin tone is subjective. different people will have different opinions. just because someone is darker than me doesnt suddenly make them not light skinned. i dont determine their experiences when they navigate through society. in her makeup video she was wearing fenty shades 300 and 330 (she mixed them). if those shades arent light skinned then you must believe that you must have a non black skin tone in order to be light skinned (fenty shades 200 and above, more like an asian person or tan white girl). again, why is it that when it comes to the lighter skinned black conversation or the mixed conversation, suddenly whiteness is the standard, and if you dont like white or you dont have a completly non black skin tone youre not light skinned or not mixed?

i used to feel the same way because i’ve gotten so many mixed-opinions on if i was but they definitely are lighter-skinned brown girls, a lot like beyoncé, tyrah, megan good & rihanna. and herby revolus made an amazing statement that kind of solidified my opinion on the matter; not sure if he’s the originator of it but it says, “lightskin people have the option to either be considered light or brown, brown skin people don’t.” so if i have to question it because the seasons are giving me different version of you, you’re most likely lighter skinned, just not the most light-skinned if that makes sense 😭

What’s interesting is while growing up I never referred to myself as lightskinned because my family is deep ebony so I just thought I was black. Blackness was the standard Culturally So that means “black” skin (including lighter tones-mono racial) you are what your parents are in my opinion. I was around my ebony mom so I was black. It wasn’t until my ebony best friend pointed out as a child did I realize I was “light skinned”. She would always bring it up. It made me insecure and sad. I don’t walk around thinking I’m “light skinned”. Not because I’m virtuous. I just don’t feel the difference. Obviously there is in society but I never got the treatment people are talking about. I was treated as a black woman always😂. People are obsessed with tone. I have a ebony baby and everyone keeps talking about her skin. I never thought she was “darker”. Obviously I’m not blind but I just love my baby. She’s like me. We’re just black people. Yes I advocate because the world is jacked and colourism is real but in our homes we need to be clear, accepting, and loving across the board.

All my life I've heard I"m not black enough based on my skin tone, features, and the way that I speak. It's caused me a lot of confusion. And my mom seems to have a complex because any time I would tell her about my experiences about people confusing me as mixed or biracial, she'll get upset and think I like it when people say that. When it's literally just my experience. I feel like as a LS somewhat ambiguous black woman, I feel like people try to force me into the mixed category or other category (often referring me as looking mexican or asian) And I never felt like I fit in anywhere. It's very stressful and people tend to project a lot of weird shit on to you. They create a personality for you, just based on their own preconcieved ideas.

I'm trying to deconstruct the gaslighting that has erased my identity as an MGM multiracial woman. I've been taught for so long that being interested in or identitying with anything other than blackness means I hate myself and I hate black people. But the sheer cognitive dissonance to pretend that my lived experience is anything close to that of UADS BW is farcical. I'm not trying to distance myself from blackness. No one with eyes could look at me and not immediately see my black ancestry. I'm not ashamed of my black ancestry. But why should I be shamed for relating to and finding more common ground with other MLS people? I look like and get treated like a mixed race person because I am one. I'm tired of pretending otherwise. This is a really difficult topic. Especially to say without other people getting hurt. I like to just say that at least through the lens of perspective, what is considered “light” and “dark” is very relative to who you’re around, and what you’re exposed to. To put it lightly I have had experiences where it’s honestly felt like more of a culture shock, or even a deep dive into someone else’s mindset with how they place me personally and my complexion.
I once had a friend’s little sister accuse us of being colorist and only preferring, lighter skinned girls as friends. I was VERY confused by this and I blurted innocently. What do you mean? Your sister is brown. And I offended her by accident ( because she must identify herself as light skinned) that’s when it really sunk in for me how subjective it all is.
I had an Italian friend. And he was sharing about his experience with colorism and his family, he shared “My mom is blacker than you” And when he showed me a picture, I didn’t see what he was talking about.
There are many times where I’ve been the darkest person in the room and it’s been pointed out to me several times. This is also subjective.
So like I said, It’s hard to really pinpoint. All you can do is just except how people except themselves and do the same for yourself.

I wear extensions whenever I want. I’m not going to say all UABW have an issue with my skin tone but I will say MOST do. Just being honest. Every now and then I’ll meet a cool DS UABW that has confidence in herself around me but for the most part it’s “friction” when I’m in the presence of a DS UABW .. I never understood it until I got older and began learning about colorism. Being light skinned and beautiful will get you hated in the black community. And by the way I have family members ranging from looking white to having dark skin as dark as coal.

right the average unambiguous african american woman is NOT fenty shade 300 as was described in chloes makeup video, and the average unambiguous black woman does NOT have a phillipino mother! lmao the desperation to tether onto their phenotypes is beyond me. chloe even called herself light and yellow in the actual vogue makeup video. so chloe will be representing for light skins and yellowbones whether the black community likes it or not. H.E.R has gone to awards shows and said things like "shoutout to my philipino mother" so H.E.R is very proud to be mixed race. how come everyone else can be proud of their skin tones or proud of their race but if youre mixed or if youre not darker skinned suddenly you cannot be proud of who you are?

Just a suggestion: you might get less pushback and accusations of colorism or whatever if, when comparing women of different skin tones you stuck to women of similar levels of attractiveness. I have noticed you will use Rihanna, Meg thee Stallion, Nikki Minaj, Beyonce, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Ella Mai etc. as examples of light skinned women but then mention women like Whoopi Goldberg, Viola Davis, etc. as being dark skinned. Why not mention attractive dark skinned women - Tika Sumpter, Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji,Normani, etc. so people won't think you are being unfair? Just a suggestion!

I already mention tika sumpter on this channel go to my most recent videos . btw I never thought viola Davis wasn’t pretty as I also use older MLS women like Halle berry. Others are the ones who view Halle berry as “prettier” than viola Davis. I do not tend to compare women’s attractiveness and anyone who doesn’t pedestalize one look over another shouldn’t be offended. If they are this channel isn’t for them
