Yep. I jumped in a half frozen river in Montana during the winter for fun. It was so cold I felt like I couldn't feel my limbs and couldn't breath lol. Got pretty sick afterwards.
Yep done it too, as soon as I hit the water it was like my lungs were fully expanded and I was hyperventilating trying to breathe but my lungs were full of air. Really hard to explain Kinda like goin from 90% to 100% lung capacity taking 10 % breathes right at the top of my lungs. So easy to die

Its when the cold water hits your larex u die from dry drowning, now that can still happen with a wetsuit if you dont know to hold your breath when u hit the water but its the involuntary breath of air that comes with the cold shock in this case that will cause you to inhale the water.
