my mother was born during WW2 and raised in post war Germany. i had a similar upbringing. he did it right.

unrelated but Jay Blades' segment on this episode was just so damn touching, I was familiar with the show a little bit but god damn I was not prepared for the utter wallop of emotion from his backstory, what a lovely man
Indeed; i read his book recently where he talks of how his own dad was absent from his life. The polar opposite of the kind of guidance Arnie's talking about here.

Like he said, he did a stint in the army (compulsory national service) and learned those things, contrasted with his (now ex-; he wasn't quite as disciplined as he should have been) wife who was a Shriver-Kennedy probably with money & servants/paid help to do those things.
I guess because his ex wife was Maria Shriver from a wealthy family connected to the Kennedys. Despite that she was very hardworking.

😂😂😂😂 I started skiing and skating too around 3 y.o and boy I cried too because it’s so difficult for a small child, but I love it today and always have. But it’s a must to have hot chocolate!

Arnold told a story about how his daughter Katherine would not leave her shoes in the mud room & instead put them by the fireplace. Arnold would remind her where her shoes should be left. Well at the 3rd time she forgot, her threw her shoes into the fire place & she cried. I bet that was the last time she left her shoes by the fireplace.
Another story about one of his son's... apparently he wanted his kids to make their beds. One of the son's repeatedly didn't make his bed so Arnold threw the bed, sheets & all out the window.

Jack Whitehall-People have been popping out and raising kids for centuries but I guess it's so difficult these days that the younger generations need endless books by celebrities and websites to help them along.
Yes, the sacrifices that rich people like Arnie have to make so their pampered kids don’t ruin a ski holiday. Meanwhile, millions of children will never ski, or have hot chocolate, because of his inane policies as Governor of California. Saving the planet one cookie at a time. Still one of the biggest woke nimrods of all time. Better for Arnie to retire and give the rest of us a break.
There is nothing about that man that qualifies him to give anybody advice about anything.
But he gives good advice...that's the only important point.
