You guys are literally living my dream, I want to go over to Germany and Czechoslovakia and all those countries metal detect, so you guys truly are living my dream it's fun to see it
That would be great but if you want to find the relics in good condition then more towards the eastern front is the best in the bogs for some reason it preserves things better. Watch some of the videos of them getting stuff there.
You know that every time I see an intact clip of bullets I think about the poor guy in the midst of a fire fight who had an "Oh, shit" moment as he reached into his pocket to reload and found nothing but lint.
@@ThePama222 Det ved jeg godt, jeg bor i nordjylland, men kan ikke finde ret meget i det hele, jeg vil jo bare finde hjelme og ammunition, ikke andet :)
That’s history right there. Men in total chaos. Men on the advance, men standing their ground . Orders given, orders received and being carried out. Men shooting, men getting shot. Prays being said. Wounded men being treated and wounded men die’ing, on the very ground your walking on and digging up the artifacts of war. It was a brutal war, but unfortunately a necessary war. Thanks for sharing
Again...very nice trip ! Various and interesting WW2 relics ! It's the first time when I see that german optical 'device' (''Scissors telescope')...awesome ! That damaged K98 barrel... I would have kept the ammo stripper clips...from that pile of 7.92 ammo... That part of mask reminds of WW1... Every single relic has a story behind it...it only depends on us to discover/understand (who wants to...do it...of course ;-/) what it wants to say about what it happened there, then... A time ago I found a 7.92 round (?!?)...steel/iron made cases (very rusted) and...GMCS bullet (very well 'preserved' !) BUT I still don't know WHO and WHEN (in WW2) produced THIS 'type' of cartridges (7.92x57mm ?!?...they looked like 7.92 but...not sure because of the rust): iron/steel case and GMCS bullet... So, nice expedition, very interesting WW2 relics...another amazing video ! Good job guys !
Thanks for watching and responding. Found a lot of interesting relics indeed, each with its own story. We actually did take some of those clips. The rounds were destroyed. Cheers.
We are all either familiar with or knowledgeable of the history and events that made WWll But what you are doing in these videos is pinpointing exact moments in time by revealing tangible occurrences of humans by excavating tools and equipment used by soldiers It gives a precise mental image of intent and motive. These videos put us on the battlefield as a witness for the people who suffered the madness of war Your videos tell the story that until now maybe never left the battle You are giving a voice to soldiers that have been silenced through duty

I absolutly love your channel amd the videps whit the beautufull intro as always i hope il fknd somethimv cool to all i found in 5 years are modern shotgunshells and 4 k98 casings
Funny thing about the Kar98. If you pulled back on the bolt very hard too many times you could break the pin that held it. I've only seen it a couple times so I'm not an expert. My dad would hold it tight and snap them back as hard as he could to break the retention pin then smash it into the ground. He was a paratrooper in ww2.
All the people that last used these, long forgotten. But it's amazing to bring it to the surface again. The stories the items could tell. Great Job guys Keep on digging!!!🎧🔊🔊☠☠☠
Just out of curiosity, i know German law is full of red tap, do you have to turn in or report certain artifacts? I guess it would be true to hear in the USA !
He is not allowed to dig for it. If somebody finds something on the surface or during some construction works related digs you immediately have to contact the authorities. It does not matter if the property is private or public. Buying land in Germany does not give you the right for that.
that snake with yellow dots is 'grass snake' its a good snake ^_^ but gotta watch out for the 'european viper', that thing is straight savage XD / also its so weird that some of pieces you found were just lying on top of the soil. wow!

The 'spare' barrel is only different by not being attached to the weapon. It's just a barrel. And there were alternative barrels because the high rate of fire if the barrel wasn't swapped out periodically could melt/warp.
I believe the barrel you found was a spare K98 barrel and not a rotted out one. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but they had two barrel options the standard service rifle had a different rifling pattern then the marksman variant. also, you can usually find the model number on the larger portion that would be closer to the breach.

I can't imagine what thoughts were going through those soldiers minds as they knew the inevitable was coming, and they couldn't even barely slow it down. And I was just thinking, in all your videos I've watched recently, I'd never seen you dig up a potato masher. Then Lo and behold! I suppose they must deteriorate pretty quickly in comparison to the British and american grenades.
Amazing video but the gun you found is even better it was used to its death and blow the rest of the gun away and it’s warped from the heat and then falling in to the wet cold mud
Out of all rifles used by Germany in ww2 the gewehr 43 stands out most to me as a very good and easy to produce rifle with rugged durability if that makes any sense
The reason the barrel you found was bent like that is because the Russians would smash them off the trees so they couldn’t be used again that’s why a lot of k98’s or any guns are found around the base of the trees
Well it’s easy to assume that some battlefields (Verdun, fe) are giant graveyard if you were to dig a couple of meters, because artillery and shells were responsible for so many casualties. But you can’t detect skeletons with a metal detector.
Bent Scheuerle some good areas would be around the wooded areas of cologne and Berlin and just to be clear it is best to search of the western front as the germans used their most lethal mines and and other weapons on the Russians and they didn’t do the beat job of cleaning on the east
Just curious, how often do people just keep the ammo cause it is cool? I mean there is no way every citizen obeys the law and turns in all their ammo they find right?
great channel, i want to ask you something, can i come with you in one of your searches? i live in Italy and i want to organize a trip with metaldetector , can i join your team ? please let me know

Bill Grandone it would actually be in his ammo pouches but the German might have put some in his pocket for quick access or more ammo
This is the best ww2 detecting channel, because they actually show almost all their finds.
Keep it up friends

RXN4THEHILLS! Wouldn’t be too far a stretch to find bones while digging in a fox hole. They find glass, leather and paper regularly.
XXXTENTACION LEAKS people find skeletons all the time and bones are made out of calogen calcium is just good for your bones
I wouldn't worry too much about bones, but life ammunition without been detonate while digging. They have to be really careful.
It can happen and you need to report it right away.

War relics in the USA are pretty much limited to our Civil War which was 150 years ago, of which are mostly gone, returned to mother earth.
They were pulling out quite a bit from the battlefield in northern Va. Grapes of wrath and couple of other things.

1:14 if you are wondering what those rifles with giant muzzle breaks are they are PTRS-41's

the design of the AK47 is based on the STG 44

Can you keep what's left of the weapons or have to turn them over with the amo?
If a weapon is oviosly not usebal anymore your allowed to Keep it the question is do you want to ?
Ammo and unexploded ordanance ie mines, grenades, mortars have to be turned in you are not allowed to keep them legally

PLOT TWIST: land owner used the place to hide his ammo and guns
"Wurfgranate" translates to "throwing granate" .... I dont think you can throw it very far...
8:05. Looks to me like a barrel from an mg. They switched barrels regularly when they got too hot
Extra barrel ya found might be a inter changeable barrel for the Mg42

I’m willing to be that the kar98 rifle rounds you found where in a ammo crate, that was just left, or abandoned
Nice finds. Love the intro.
Just curious, how often do people just keep the ammo cause it is cool? I mean there is no way every citizen obeys the law and turns in all their ammo they find right?
Muffin Man some I would keep definitely.
Wow dimana berada nya
It is a barrel in ww2 Germany had barrels that were curved cool fact
Keep in museum for history
The final battles of WWII itself were in the pacific
So do you keep/get to keep anything that isn't ordinance? Neat.
Ypu know some of the Germans MMGs had a feature where the barrel was interchangable if it got to hot from the rate of fire and they did get hot.
Bonjour encore une belle video merci
Nic
On a scale of 1-10 how dangerous is it digging up anti tank mines mortars explosive artillery rounds hand grenades etc?????
Anti tank mines arent a big threat, you gotta watch out for german s-mines tho
Wow, you guys are so lucky... not much here in the UK....
11:05 thats the bolt of a STG 44
Except for explosive objects are you able to keep what you find?
Wish I could hunt the WW2 battlefields.
What sux is you cant keep all of that cool history. Especially 8mm ammo. Hard to find in the states right now. Lol.
great channel, i want to ask you something, can i come with you in one of your searches? i live in Italy and i want to organize a trip with metaldetector , can i join your team ? please let me know

Sometimes i wish that sweden was in the second world war so i too could do some findings with metal detector
Jonas Martinsson what a dumb thing to say. War is pure hell. Don’t wish it on anyone.
Next video we search Hiroshima japan and we metal detect the piece of the famous little boy!!
8:20 I think its a Russian PTRD-41or a German Panzerbüchse 39
i always wonder what they do after they dig the stuff up
