Dons a hazmat suit; "I saw a bug earlier"...🤣
SO RELATABLE lol
you know it's gonna be a good video when Peter breaks out the Haz-Mat pajamas.
That outfit slaps so hard
Peter having social anxiety while emailing his teachers is so fucking relatable
There is something about your voice that is so soothing. I could listen to you read a book but I'd be afraid of falling asleep due to the coziness of your voice.
Ahh, my weekly dose of Peter. I feel content now.
Thank you, peter. You always put a smile on my face.
We need to get you to one million subscribers. There is no reason why you should have less than one million. I propose a "GET PETER TO ONE MILLION" campaign to commence immediately. Hope it works buddy. Love your content.
I like ur hat Peter!! 🎩
Thank you
@@peter_draws You’re welcome! Good luck with your school. 😄
I can understand your anxiety about the professor, Peter. Don't stress. Every person who teaches at that level has to decide how they want to be addressed. For some people, earning that advanced degree was extremely difficult and hard won, possibly even against the odds. So I think wanting to be called Doctor is understandable. In this case, you corrected on your own and I'm sure it's fine. My husband only demands people call him doctor when they've pissed him off. His students call him by his first name. You're a dream student--working ahead! Already thinking about the final project the first week! Good job, buddy. It's always weird being so much older than the other students. I'm currently in an MFA program and I'm literally old enough to be the mother of some of my classmates. :D
Why are u making me smile when I'm determined on being depressed
Laughed so hard when he said, "just kidding. There's no one there."
Same.
he could have fooled us with a tripod
I love everything you do and make Peter and now that you point out the importance of socks... stock goes up 10 billion points ↗️ if you had peter designed socks as merch 💰 😏
Peter, you are so clever and funny, and well spoken. Your videos are the high point of my day!
You’re awesome dude! You deserve to be “Dr. Peter Draws”!!!!
Hello Peter, Always a joy watching your videos and I wish to thank you for your continued excellence in showing your viewers just how to do drawing so very well! Take it easy and be safe out there!
Woo-hoo I won a copy of the waterbottle sticker!!!! Thanks Peter I'll treasure it always
I keep my Ph.D diploma in my underwear drawer. It keeps me humble.
You are so unique.
Please don't change
I love how your $1,000,000 painting is hanging crooked. Classy af.
My first assignment in my MFA was about that bourgeoisie. I cried! The rest was HP grades, but that one, OMG.
he is an international treasure and must be protected at all costs
Slogging but learning is good. As is suffering proud people on the way. This comment is from one of your fans that has two degrees and I was a 4.0 gpa student.
Those readings on the computer....ugh. I wish they were on or could be in book form for you? I do love books very much. It being on a computer, I myself would make the process longer. I tend to run rabbit trails in my learning temperament when reading
esearching\studying.
Case in point - my Speach Class ( I aced the final), where my Pro\Con Speach was on "Cloning". What sweet intrigueing rabbit trails during my research! And what nice feedback from classmates during my Speech.
Anyway Peter, when you talk of college, I get very sweetly nostalgic. I LOVED my college days and the two subjects I chose. My family looks at me " doctorately" lols. But my personna is way too cool and laid back to indulge it. Only during holiday get togethers - I prefer sitting with the men for conversation time. Even me being a female, it's just more interesting somehow.
Ok - end of babbling comment. And your last drawing was epic. Proud you finished the lot! Hats off to you fella wonder. Also, I am glad you take small breaks. Carpal Tunnel is NOT fun!?
You have a unique and reassuring voice. Im from NC too (i think you said youre from there awhile back) so its not that you have a southern accent. Its just something about the way you talk makes it seem relaxing. I cant draw or paint worth a crap but watch just for your voice as back noise when im writing.
I think it's called 'bunged up' voice
@@carlitoalterego2709 it reminds me of Zach Hadel, another guy online ive followed for a while. He has a certain deep but nasally voice that is somewhat similar to Peter's tone of voice.
The venus fly trap looking thing in your art is very satisfying my good sir.
Man, I already love this dude. Just saw his channel
Woah Peter did you get married to the Art? Either way congratZ!
0:30 Macho Man Peter Savage! (wrestling reference from the 80's) Looks like you had fun! Great job Peter!
2:10 Fresh socks are a MUST HAVE!
(Peter shows a big white wall... me: find out my laptop screen is dirty and has spots on it and then proceeds to cleaning it before hitting "play" again 😅🤓
3:40 I got a sheet/light blanket with your design on it and I LOVE it! Thank you Peter!
Haha nice, I usually find out how dirty my computer screen is when I’m trying to clean up images in photoshop and try to erase something only to find out it’s on a different plane of existence
How are you always so good at sticking stickers in the right spot on the first try?
With that initial spin he already won my like
I love the texture of you Peter. ❤️🖖
I really enjoyed watching you draw this, thank you 💕
I'm a new viewer and I absolutely love this video! Great art, great story.
Well....I'll be derned. Haha! I am super excited to see the APPEALZ! Thanks, Peter, and the lovely people over at APPEALZ for this great series.
Insisting that somebody call you "Dr. XYZ" is a sign of insecurity. You know they're your professor. You can see their title. The only time I use that title is when I want to sound fancy on a form.
I don't think it's just that, I think it's also recognition for all the (hard) work they've put in to attain that honourific. The same way people who have an Honours degree will put (e.g.) BSc (Honours) on their CV and not just BSc .
Though I think a lot of people forget that having a PhD (and thus being a 'Doctor') isn't just for the medical profession and so they tend to forget to assign it to non-medical Doctors, which is probably why they spend a lot of time trying to correct people for it.
[edit: I am not a doctor, I don't have a PhD but I am working towards my BSc (Honours) in computer science]
@@MaxRide1 I think you should advertise yourself on your resume/CV! I'm pretty sure mine has "with highest distinction" for my BS degree. That being said, expecting it in informal communications seems like insecurity. It's basically an implicit appeal to authority. I will note, however, that females likely don't get the requisite respect a teacher should get, and so may need to reinforce their authority in that way. OTOH, I've seen plenty of privileged white men use this tactic and it's just gross. There was one professor I had in undergrad who would bristle if you called him "Dr. XYZ" because he was a professor and he wanted that distinction. Give me a break.
Idk, generally when you've worked your ass off for like... another 5-6 years on top of your bachelor's and basically written a book only to have it torn apart by your superiors, worked for basically nothing as a TA, and finally gotten a job as a professor, you might feel some kind of way about that hard-earned prefix to your name. But yeah, you're right about women for some reason not getting the respect they deserve in academia (especially STEM. The Humanities are somewhat different, it seems, but even there it's very much a Boys Club...) so they've good reason to be very protective of their prefixes as well. I mean, just look at the recent news about non-medical doctors "not being real doctors" like with Jill Biden.
@@vrixphillips Actually, the Jill Biden issue was what made me realize mid-post that I'm speaking from a limited perspective. That being said, expecting somebody to call you an honorific in a personal communication reads a whole lot different than respect that should be given in a media communication. FWIW, from a practical perspective, I think he read the writing on the wall correctly. I've advised many a student to refer to their professors with the same formalism that the professors refer to themselves. So if she's signing things "Dr." or "Professor" you should respond similarly.
I can’t imagine that someone that wants to “sound” fancy on a form has a title to begin with.
Wishing he stepped back so we could see it all together like all of the drawings together. Such incredible work
It sounds like you're a very diligent student! I often felt with readings that sometimes I wasn't absorbing it and would feel like I needed to go back over the same sections again and again, but I think we absorb more than we realise even when it doesn't feel like it. I'm sure "Dr Smith" wouldn't mind, I don't think you were impolite, especially because you corrected it. Having a pro-active student is always appreciated. I had former professors that became colleagues and getting to know them in that context made me realise how much they care about their students, to some extent because student performance reflects on their teaching ability.
Haha...just started stippling and my hand aches so much😆 Loving your videos!
Pete speak with a physical therapist or chiropractor regarding your wrists and your drawing. Speak to them regarding your concerns regarding carpal tunnel. Like many repetitive things there will be a negative outcome. Quite positive there is preventive options for you. One thing that has helped me 10 fold is rubbing raw organic coconut oil on my wrists. You're young and symptoms may not show up for many years. Very avoidable condition. Hugs. Thank you for sharing with us.
Man that fit reminds me of thundercats fits
I love it
Dragonball durag vibes
@@DzSwipe YEAAAAAH! This guy gets it
Suddenly 4K new subscribers! Wow!
Peter needs cozy toesies to make whirly swirly draw-wings
I totally agree with the importance of a comfy pair of socks!
Love your dynamic, and the definite creativity in even your choice of "accessories." Though I'm nothing like an artist, (I just have a love of good pens, and writing correspondence, for the most part), you are an inspiration to try to do some more. Thanks!
As to the doctor: the higher the education, the more people tend to want to be called by the title. I've seen therapists who don't have any license as a psychologist want to be called a psychologist. Just because they have a master's degree...
Love your videos! Also happen to be working on my PhD. I’m seeing a few comments re: the prof wanting to be called Dr., and just thought I’d note that gender could also be at play here. Typically, women (and women of color, in particular) have to work a hell of a lot harder to establish their authority in the classroom than their male counterparts, especially if they are young/early in their careers. This is one reason why a professor might wish to be called Dr. So-And-So, or Professor So-And-So. I remember my undergraduate advisor (who is a woman) once saying that students would often call her by her first name (without permission) but would still refer to her male colleagues as Professor, which she found irritating because she had the same credentials as they did but was not afforded the same respect. There are, of course, other reasons someone might wish to be called Dr./Prof. - I know both male and female professors who are well into their careers but prefer to be addressed as Dr./Prof.
We had that same sailing ship painting hanging in our house for all my childhood and I suspect it was originally a "paint by number" that my brother did (he's 20 yrs older than me) but still not sure - is it??
Yeah it’s a paint by number, I got it at a thrift store :)
Ah! Wow, didn't know anyone else in my family was artistic once upon a time (unless there was a dare, or maybe a threat!) Wonder what other skeletons are in my past ;)
I wish that I could draw even a little like you, you're so talented, well done man. :)
Very amazing drawing!! Your drawing skills are talented.👍👍
What the...I had no idea they had a word for drawing dots, Stippling! How awesome is that! I'm gonna use that word today! Ya know what, even better I'm gonna Stipple today! Maybe I'll even make a t-shirt with nothing but dots,...I hope my hand don't get tired.
I'M A ZENTANGLER... YOU are the boss
My husband was sitting here in the room while i watch your video and he's like WHO are you yelling at? And I tell him... "Peter!!!" And my husband says "Peter can't hear you!" and I said "This is why Peter is in my tribe and you are not!!" Cheers to cozy socks! :)
You could totally be a pop star. Wait ✋....you might already be a pop star. 🤔
Yes, I do asterisks … to indicate a mistake or a change
That bug joke almost got me killed
As every true artist knows, it's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to create art without cozy feet and a full hazmat isolation suit.
I love you peter
I like to write a lot, but I need a very specific keyboard, not a brand or a model, just, I duno, the rigth one, is like my safety blanket or something like that hahahaha, I spend a lot of time feeling keyboards until y found “the rigth one”... we all need that thing to make all the life confy hahahaha.
I really was hoping it would be a clothes hanger. or like many clothes hangers just everywhere... how convenient would that be? got a loose shirt or a sudden extra scarf... no problem
My first semester of university I had to read The Odyssey for 3 of my classes, which cut down on my loooong reading list. One book, 3 different analyses; a good deal for pre-internet academic life lol.
Women and other marginalised people often do not receive the respect due their position. If I had a doctorate I definitely would make a 30 year old white dude call me doctor, even if it was a doctorate in doodling.✌
what about a 30yo asian dude ?
What about a black dude?
I saw that Rockos Modern Life Reference.
Hey Peter like your ordinaryness
It's annoying when people with Doctorates insist on being called "Doctor ". If you're in a medical environment and it's better for patient clarity if you refer to someone as, for example, - "Doctor Smith" so it's not confusing to patients who are also "Smith". ...but a college or university lecturer to insist on being called "Doctor" is just arrogant.
Those are nice
Excellent work Peter! 👏👏
Positive comment
I do the * all the time.
oh no the wall is full... do you have another wall to fill OR do you have to move house again? what about they backyard fence how's that gallery going is it full yet?
Doctor Draws: lecturing about importance of cozy feet
Me looking @ my naked calloused feet: Oh noes (but I have a small carpet so I got that going on)
I'm always barefoot and calloused too :)
Barefeet is my natural state except in winter maybe.
There's muscle memory. Then thrombosis. 😆😆😆
R.S.I. Comes with every job you do repeativily
That is wonderful!! I hope you don’t hang anything over this drawing.
This drawing is particularly bee ay, Dr. Draws!
I'm currently doing my PhD studies and research and I honestly can't imagine myself telling people I'm a doctor...
Future Dr. D3trois how exciting!!! What a challenging profession physics is. I am going to watch your video where you are drawing your subscribers....it sounds so fun. Who knows, maybe I'll subscribe? Yeah. I think I already did. Hugs.

Don't tell them let it be a surprise
awesome
Restocking of the Peter Pen is delayed again! I’m so anxious to see if I’ll get one this time.
A lot of people are surprised to find out that what they thought was Old English is actually still Modern English. Shakespeare, for example, is modern. If you look at Beowulf in the original, you can see some Old English. And then for kicks and giggles, you can read Chaucer for some Middle English.
Chaucer.....UGH! I hated Canterbury Tales. I still don't know what it was about.
@@kellysartthrob I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.
Cozy tow-zes
Hi, Peter, can you try to print your drawing by 3D printer. Maybe you can transfer your 2D drawing to 3D by AI technology.
That mic set-up makes you sound like you're talking thru a mouthful of Tampax or something cottony.

The reward for watching till the end @18:03

I thought this looked like an angler fish for like half the video ...love the piece
Few things. Does Vincent ring a bell? I had a professor Vincent at an Art Institute who was my favorite. Also, when I go to the Appealz link it only offers phone cases it seems. Perhaps this is an issue on my end however I cannot seem to find just the prints. Lastly, if I were to use your work to get a tattoo done by an artist I trust, would that be okay?
imagine peter taking part in redbull doodle art competition..
You can also use Google search to ask "How do you pronounce..." and listen to an audio file of someone saying the word the way it is supposed to be said, so that you can be sure of it.
By the way, I worked with a guy in a seminar on improving our work, and discovered he had a Ph.D., but he was one of those who introduced himself by his first name and never referred to his doctorate. I was surprised and told him that if it was me and I had earned a Ph.D., I would want people to call me "Doctor Tabor" at least initially. It's wouldn't be something I'd be upset about, but just a matter of pride in earning my doctorate. (I don't have a degree of any kind, so that's really just all a hypothetical situation, but there it is.)
Oh, a question... What ink did you use in your Peter Pen for this drawing?
I used Noodler black ink!
I'm here and will now forever be here, for the stuntin' chains. Yes, sir. 📿
Ha ha you vogued with your feet. Noice.
You gotta be the snazziest dude this side of the 3rd dimension
i just noticed theres a tiny 'hey' in the bottom right lol
Great video - came across your channel purely by accident so sorry if this has been asked/answered before (I'll probably go check out your channel after this)
what ink do you use? I know your 'about this channel' says Rotring Isographs which I know use very specific ink but for the dip/fountain pens is there a particular brand you prefer to use or find shows up better when you scan or photograph your work?
That jacket IS smokin'
awesome video, love your art
Peter. Post on your podcast. Talk about the outfit. And why.
Where can we buy your pen
Be like an MLB pitcher and wear a jacket only on your drawing arm to keep in warmed up
Hey Peter! I’m a huge fan and I love how much effort you put into all of your vids and I love the art you make! I’m not sure if you’ve ever thought about selling your work before but It would mean a lot to me to have one of your pieces in my collection! Let me know if you are in anyway interested if you see ever see this, thanks!❤️❤️
(Any of your original work)
I would have been real nervous before starting that one last piece.
