I give you two lots of credit, I could NOT have done that first trail, especially with camera gear. For a smaller size NP, Acadia has so much to explore, I've been there MANY times and there are still things I have not seen. Also, no matter how crowded, if you just get away from the popular spots you can always find beautiful spaces all to yourself. Again, excellent video!

I cannot believe I missed this video last fall. This is basically a recap of my honeymoon in 2008 when we got married at the Bar Harbor Inn in very late Spetember and then hiked in Acadia for a week in the fall colors. We even had to accidentally hike on the Loop Road to get back to the car. Just returned to Acadia 3 weeks ago with our kids who made it from Jordan Pond House up to Bubble Rock and back for the first time (youngest is 7). And with no complaints! Been waiting for this for a LONG time! Love this video.
I'm so proud of you guys for doing this hike. I'm super surprised... after conquering this, surely you're ready for Angel's Landing in Zion? 😉 I would adore doing this hike, it seems right up my street! Great Head Beach was stunning. We saw some places in Cornwall not too dissimilar over the summer with the turquoise waters, off white sand and vivid green hills - I was loving it then and loving it in this video too 😍 Loved the little montage of you guys getting another National Park badge and crossing off a new park. I'm really looking forward to seeing your take on some of the more quirky parks like Dry Tortugas and the Channel Islands. We did the Beehive Trail with our children when then were small! It was scary enough! Glad you did the Precipice--you are both very brave!! Safe travels!!!
I’ve been all over the world, but Bar Harbor and Acadia is my favorite place in the world. I got married there, and I want my ashes spread there some day. It’s a special place!!!
After that hike i was starving!! Ice cream?? Great Hike! Beautiful views! Reminded me of a song i heard a long time ago: "Stair way to heaven". Well, with views like that.....be safe, and peace.
I'm tired!!!! Just watching you two do the Precipice Trail wore me out. *grin* (Ah youth!!!) Thanks for the adventure. Until next time..... Travel safe.
I love your videos! You guys are so active and it makes your videos special. Not many other RUclipsrs do as much as you guys. Way to go and Happy Thanksgiving!
This was definitely an adventure!! I loved seeing you guys on the rock cliffs. I am so glad you made it safely. You were also brave eating your icecream in the cold 🥶 Your videos are SO GOOD 👍 🤩🤩❣
Well done on the Precipice Trail! “The biggest rewards in life are found outside your comfort zone. Live with it. Fear and risk are perquisites if you want to enjoy a life of success and adventure.” - Jack Canfield
We went to Acadia on our 1 year anniversary and it was totally magical! Loved the precipice and all the awesome blueberries (earlier in the season you can pick them EVERYWHERE) & we also took a million ice cream stops!
Another great video with excellent shots and views and New England does have the most charming towns. After all of the hiking the two of you do, you can enjoy 3 scoops of ice cream and not feel guilty about it.
Man what a beautiful area. I'm so bummed we didn't get to go last year! But this is a great recap so I know what to look forward to when we make it back. Nice job conquering Precipice!
As a bar harbor native that has lived there for 20+ years. There is a reason locals do not climb that mountain from November to spring since it can get icy. There has been tons of rescues and deaths due to ice or the slightest frost. That being said it looked nice there that day. I'm currently on vacation in Portugal. And great vid.
So, we have been watching you guys for a long time. We are trying to eat dinner. And you are giving us such parental anxiety! Very glad you made it. Glad you took a “wrong “ turn ❤️ Jeff n Michele
That's awesome to hear! Be sure to check out our website as well. We have guides and itineraries for most of the places we have visited! Maybe they will help with future planning! Thanks for watching!
You guys are so genuine and so likable. I really enjoy your videos. I’ve been to Acadia several times but never even consider doing that trail lol. Maybe one day with Gods help.
Stunning views beautifully photographed - thank you. Acadia NP & Bar Harbor are on our bucket list. Unfortunately, we are a good 30 years too old to hike the Precipice Trail!!!!
Wow another delightful episode. The Precipice trail looks awesome... definitely want to do that one. Great job to Kathryn for all the scrambling despite some nerves! All the hikes and trails are amazing with the shoreline, ricks, water, and colors of fall. can't wait to get up into Maine. Also... y'all have an ice cream problem. Remember, the first step towards getting help is admitting the problem!
Hiked the precipice when I was your age. Outstanding hike. My family is from that area and have been visiting the area since the 1960’s. I wouldn’t want to visit anywhere else. Visited Thunder Hole on September 8th. The entire lower walkway was getting pounded with surf! Very exciting!
It would've been SO cool to see Thunder Hole in all its glory. Tried to find a cool video to legally use to show what it looks like, but couldn't, so I guess we will just have to go back!
Go back many years when we lived in Maine, We visited Bar harbor to purchase at Stevie Ray Vaughan album circa 1984! Love your adventure! I just had major knee surgery so your hikes inspire me! Thank you! Amazing video! ~Cara
I've been lucky enough to hike this trail 3x time now and your video does a great job showing why it's my favorite hike of all time. Technically, some say it's really a climb and not a trail.
You guys are go getters and we adore that about you both ❤️ Those we’re not easy hikes but you conquered them both and celebrated with ice cream in true A+K fashion!
As I mentioned before, Maine is on my bucket list, but I got to see parts of Maine from you two that I do not have any plans of hiking those trails you did!! Maybe one of the shorter trails you just did, but not those tuff ones!! Looking forward to watching Portland next!! Thank you for taking us with you on your journey, I know it's tough getting the views and of the two of you climbing during your those hikes! You get an A ++ on your photography work!! 🤗❤️🙏🏼
Definitely living vicariously through you two. I couldn't do that first hike. Arcadia's definitely up in the top 5 to visit soon for me. Glad you guys are giving me so many ideas for hikes and food.
Many years ago The Precipice trail was closed because of nesting peligrin falcons. We were able to hike it around 20 years ago for our 25th anniversary. It is an awesome trail as are many in Acadia NP. Noticed that you guys didn't go swiming at Sand Beach. ;-) Even in the middle of Summer the water temperature is about 55 deg F. The Great Head is awesome and at the right time of day Thunder Hole is quite dramatic. Acadia is a great place! Mount Desert Island is really a cool place as well. It is a great place to spend lkts of time. So happy you guys enjoyed it! Many great memories.
Yes I think we read they nest there at a certain time of the year. We LOVED Acadia and it’s one of our favorite parks now. We can’t wait to go back one day. Thanks for watching
What a breathtaking national park…the views everywhere, fall colors, beach, shoreline! I have to say I had that weird feeling going through my body watching you hike parts of Precipice! 😳 I loved watching Kona enjoying the water…she is just so cute! And, that ice cream sure sounded and looked delicious!😋
So many oohs, and awes & wtf’s on this amazing hike!😅 Kathryn at one point, you had to lift your leg so high to reach a rung, that a less limber person might have pulled a muscle! I continue to be in awe of you 2 & so grateful too! Too think, my idea of Maine was mainly lobsters & blueberries, but now I see how beautiful it is! Sorry Adam, but I got a good laugh seeing you eating that ice cream which I totally could relate to!🥶🤣 Seeing Kona frolic on the shore is pure joy! Your vlogs are such a gift!💝
I am honestly surprised I didn’t pull my hip flexor, which I have done before on an intense hike! Lobster and blueberries are definitely a delicious part of Maine, but the scenery is also spectacular! And we couldn’t stop laughing at how cold we were 😂
Katherine you were amazing 👏 on that trail 👣. I know it was challenging to you with your shorter legs 😉 I knew Adam was going good but he has those longer arms and legs. Loved ❤ Kona running around the shoreline on Sand Beach she is such a fun pup 🐶. Forgot how blue 💙 that water is there, nice collage of colors with the fall foliage 🍂 .Thank you for another wonderful adventure!
You’ve brought back memories of our hike 2 years ago. It was wet and slippery for us which made it especially sketchy. We did Beehive too and it was fun. We had lunch at Jordan Pond during bee season (early September) so when they brought out the jelly for the popovers they swarmed us. It was quite an uncomfortable setting but we didn’t get stung and it created a lasting memory 😊.
We did Precipice Trail last year when we finally made it to Acadia! And just like you, ended up hiking the road back to parking lot. Lol. We were suppose to do Precipice and Beehive the same day. Precipice was my wife’s first “adventure” climb, not just a mountain hike. She did awesome, but it scared her. Said she wasn’t doing Beehive. I didn’t know it was a little shorter, and a little less scary, or I would have started her with that one. Precipice is my second favorite climb, behind Angels Landing in Zion, I got to do that one the year before with our son, covered in snow and ice. It was awesome!
Way to go to your wife for doing this hike! It’s definitely intimidating with those rungs! The road back was kind of a nice break though haha. We have yet to do Angels Landing, the crowds on the chains doesn’t sound fun, but maybe now with a the permit system we would give it a try!
Isn’t that an awesome trail? Such clenching good fun… the Beehive offers similar exposure and views, I like that one too. Glad you’re enjoying Acadia. I’ve been there five times, it’s one of my favorite parks.
I myself hiked the Precipice trail about a month ago for the first time. Shortly into your hike what caught my attention was the boulders that you encountered and being a shorter man myself opted to go under that same large boulder you did as an alternative to what seemed to me as i hiked it that one was meant to go over! Then i opted to summit the Beehive trail!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I completed the Precipice and summited the Beehive trail. There was another option on trail and some more hiking off my course to the summit of the Beehive i did not get to yet!
Love the precipice, done it twice already. Took my adult kids to the via Feratta after watching your video. The kids loved it but I had to pass, hurt my shoulder a week before the trip.
Mad respect for doing this with a ton of gear. As i'll be up there solo (and for personal reasons) I'll not be doing this. Going down seems like it'd be about impossible.
Yeah you aren't supposed to go down the rung sections. They are designed to be one way. The way down is just a normal hike. Hope you have a great time!
Wow!!! Beautiful video! So impressive with your climbing and filming ability especially on the Precipice Trail, something I will never be able to do. I kept waiting for your votes on the best flavor of ice cream out of those you enjoyed. You've probably already been, when checking the date on this video, but I'm hoping you discovered Holy Donut in Portland. Unforgettable potato donuts!!!! I seriously had to leave town because I could not stop eating them!!!! Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures:)
It definitely was difficult to film at times! It took a lot longer so we could safely take turns filming! We haven’t officially decided a best flavor (although I’m going to brainstorm!), but we do have a top 5 favorite spots list! And Holy Donut will be in two videos! They were super good and unique! 🙌🏼
Thank you for showcasing New England! I am an Australian living in Colorado and these videos have opened up a whole new range of possibilities for travel in the US! What is your favorite national park? I have not been to very many but so far mine is probably Glacier.
Oh wow, we hope you are enjoying living in the US! We really want to visit Australia (Adam lived there for 3 months, but I haven't been). Mine is Glacier hands down, but Adam says Olympic (I love that one too) because of how diverse the scenery is.
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, I'm so thrilled that y'all really enjoyed Acadia National Park! That Precipice Trail is super rugged and downright scary but y'all aced it👍👍👍! I was really hoping that you would be able to check out Thunder Hole at high tide but the timing wasn't...next time. Isn't Bar Harbor BEAUTIFUL??!! It's such an amazing town! So your heading to Portland huh...its a GREAT city with lots of food options so maybe you probably already enjoyed eating lots of seafood...especially Delicious lobster rolls! I can't wait to see that video! The ride south from Acadia to Portland is really nice and you must have crossed the Penobscot Narrows Bridge in which you could take the elevator to the very top of the tower for a SPECTACULAR view!! Looking forward to the next video😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍.
Bar Harbor is so beautiful! And we LOVED Portland! One of our new favorite cities! We did drive by that bridge and I remember Adam telling me you can go to the top…super cool! We will definitely be back to explore more of the coastal towns and do that!
When we visited and were riding the Loop Road bus (and I didn’t know this was the name of a trail), the driver said, “We’re approaching the Precipice.” First time he said that, it gave me quite the fright. Haha.
The first hike made my hands sweat a little just watching, but it looks amazing. I think I'd want to do it without a backpack if possible though! You're right, it's hard to believe they just let people do hikes like that - I mean, who even thought, "lets put a hiking trail here, iron rungs and all..." It's beautiful, but it doesn't look possible, but there it is...and I really want to do it. But it would scare me too...
Great video guys! Not gonna lie the 1st trail wasn't for the faint hearted, phew you needed lots of upper body strength etc. I admire your head for heights. Well done, a great achievement. Take care.
I just want to say your videos, the editing, and the content is done to perfection. I've watched many videos about couples hiking and exploring cities and by far you two are the best. I started watching your channel about a week ago because I plan on traveling to New England, Specially VT in about a month and want to know what I will be getting myself into, lol. I would love to know what camera you guys use to capture all of the scenic views.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to us! We use a Sony FX3 for most of our shots now, but in this video we primarily used a Sony a7iii. You can find a link to all of our gear in the description to the video. Hope that helps and you have a great trip!
You did a great job highlighting what AcadIa and MDI has to offer in just two videos. We’ve been visiting the island for over 25 years (part time residents now) and the only trail I haven’t (and won’t) hike is the Precipice. Through your video I finally got to see what the trail is really like….it certainly hasn’t changed my mind to hike it. Thanks again. I’m glad you had a great time. Well worth another visit.
A+K --- Yay! Precipice Trail! I am so proud of you two trekkers. Some people turn back. K, you make a solid analogy that Precipice is reminiscent of the VF at Nelson Rocks in West Virginia. Precipice just needs a big swinging bridge! If you thought Precipice was a blast, then I got one for you, when decide to come down western Carolina way: Grandfather Mountain!
@@AdventuresofAplusK A+K --- If you like the rock scramble bits without as much exposure as Precipice or Nelson Rocks, then be sure to put Old Rag trail on your expanding bucket list. The views of the Shenandoah valley (Virginia) are tremendous there.
I’d say the Via Ferrata was scarier, but we also felt totally safe. It was only scary because we were going up high and literally scaling walls haha, so it took some mental toughness, but it was SO worth it and still one of our favorite things we have ever done!
Just went to Precipice today hoohoo!(after watching this episode!) what an adventure! Yes, I agree that Via Ferrata in WV (again, went in July after seeing video from last year!) sort of prepared everything I need to know for this trail. What a view to the top! But I’ll never do it again in this month. Ice covers rocks and it’s not safe at all. I did use the orange & black path on the way back, but had to stop at around 1/3 of it-the blue marks were completely gone and I was so lost, it felt like no one walked there anymore. So I ended up turning back and walked to the road like you two did😅 Btw I don’t feel Angel’s landing is hard (probably I’m not super afraid of height and AL is much wider than Precipice..) I don’t know. Only sharing a personal opinion that Precipice is more challenging than Zion.
We hear that after October this trail is super dangerous with the ice, so we are glad that you made it okay! And we have since learned that the NPS promotes the road route on their site, so it’s not a bad alternative at all! For us, the two way traffic in tougher spots and crowds at angels landing is what makes us not have a ton of interest in it and make it seem scary, but maybe we will try it someday.
NOPE! However, the views were pretty spectacular!! The hike actually looked pretty fun if you're not afraid of heights. Loved Kona having fun in the water. Hoping to get to Maine next year if everything goes just right.
It's definitely not for those afraid of heights! But it's a blast for those who want to do it! We hope you can make it to Maine, it's so gorgeous and there is SO much to see!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Reminds me of Steven Wright "I am not afraid of Heights, I am afraid of Widths!" Thank you for showcasing Maine. Love the Maine coast 😎
Impressed you killed that hike. Its quite scary... I know a few people who have had to bow out half way up. I loved your videos if Northern New England.
The Via Ferrata really helped us a lot with mentally feeling like we could tackle this. But there is no shame in turning around if you don't feel comfortable! So glad you have enjoyed the New England videos!
There isn’t really an easy route for the Precipice unless you just want to hike a side trail to the top to see views, but there are other hikes in the park with similar views as well! All ages (minus small kids) could attempt this hike depending on their hiking and climbing abilities.
I've done Bee Hive and Bee Hive is straighter up than this one. Shorter, but steeper I think. This one didn't look as bad, but then again I haven't done this one yet. Going back to Acadia in September. SO excited! What other trails do you recommend?
We have a bunch of Acadia guides on our website with tips 😃 And I guess our filming made this look easier than it was, because we have heard it’s a lot more challenging than Beehive from those who have done both! But you’ll have to report back after you visit again!
Hi! It took us a few hours to complete the trail and it's a ton of fun! We have a blog post on our website that should cover everything you need to know for the trail! adventuresofaplusk.com/hiking-the-precipice-trail-at-acadia-national-park
This looks scary. Are there cliff parts of the hike that don't have railings? Seems I spotted some. Is that scary to walk on those part? Would love to do this next year.
There was one spot that was kind of scary, where you had to cross a narrow ledge without any railings and it was slightly wet, which made us extra nervous, but there is a wall you can put your hand on to help feel more secure. If you go slow it's not bad!
Hi! We just used our regular hiking shoes. And yes the trail is well marked! We have a guide on our website if you’re looking for more info. adventuresofaplusk.com/hiking-the-precipice-trail-at-acadia-national-park
Our lab, Chip does the same thing in the water as Kona! In our Alley Spring video he is running up & down the river with his mouth open. We call him a whale looking for krill 🤣
Great views, but I had to fast forward through the scary hike. It made my stomach nervous. I won't be putting that first one on our list. Acadia is one of our favorite parks.

Climbing that precipice is now high on my bucket list! Thanks for the video!
We HIGHLY recommend it if you're up for something unique!
I’ve been all over the world, but Bar Harbor and Acadia is my favorite place in the world. I got married there, and I want my ashes spread there some day. It’s a special place!!!
It is so gorgeous there, we don't blame you! Such an epic wedding spot too!
My ashes too... At the foot of Bubble Pond. (don't tell anyone).
After that hike i was starving!! Ice cream?? Great Hike! Beautiful views! Reminded me of a song i heard a long time ago: "Stair way to heaven". Well, with views like that.....be safe, and peace.
Perfect song to describe it!
I'm tired!!!! Just watching you two do the Precipice Trail wore me out. *grin* (Ah youth!!!)
Thanks for the adventure. Until next time..... Travel safe.
It was a fun hike!
I love your videos! You guys are so active and it makes your videos special. Not many other RUclipsrs do as much as you guys. Way to go and Happy Thanksgiving!
We are so glad you enjoy how active we are! We love being outdoors! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
A Most Excellent Adventure.
It was a blast!
This was definitely an adventure!! I loved seeing you guys on the rock cliffs. I am so glad you made it safely. You were also brave eating your icecream in the cold 🥶 Your videos are SO GOOD 👍 🤩🤩❣
Thank you so much Pamela! It was a fun hike and the ice cream was delicious, even if extra cold 😂
I'm a RUclips junkie from way back and I think this is the best RUclips channel hands down!!
We super appreciate your kind words and support!
Well done on the Precipice Trail!

We couldn't agree more!
We went to Acadia on our 1 year anniversary and it was totally magical! Loved the precipice and all the awesome blueberries (earlier in the season you can pick them EVERYWHERE) & we also took a million ice cream stops!
We would LOVE to pick blueberries! Definitely plan to return to Maine in the summer next time so we can do that!
Thanks for taking us along with you in your Fall adventures in Acadia. You crazy kids eating the ice cream when it was so cold.
We are a bit wild! 🤪
Another great video with excellent shots and views and New England does have the most charming towns. After all of the hiking the two of you do, you can enjoy 3 scoops of ice cream and not feel guilty about it.
We agree! One scoop per mile right?! 😜
Man what a beautiful area. I'm so bummed we didn't get to go last year! But this is a great recap so I know what to look forward to when we make it back. Nice job conquering Precipice!
We’re glad we could share some spots before you do make it there! It’s worth the wait!
This was back in October, and there was no ice at all and the conditions were totally safe 😃
So, we have been watching you guys for a long time. We are trying to eat dinner. And you are giving us such parental anxiety! Very glad you made it. Glad you took a “wrong “ turn ❤️ Jeff n Michele
Hahaha it really wasn’t that bad!
It is at our age! 😀
Your videos are awesome! They really helped me with planning me and my wife's trip to Acadia! Thank you so much!
That's awesome to hear!
Be sure to check out our website as well. We have guides and itineraries for most of the places we have visited! Maybe they will help with future planning!
Thanks for watching!
You two are really tough! Eating Ice Cream on a cold day just proves it! Great video! Thanks.
It was probably the most brutal ice cream experience, but still delicious!
You guys are so genuine and so likable. I really enjoy your videos. I’ve been to Acadia several times but never even consider doing that trail lol. Maybe one day with Gods help.
Thank you so much! That trail is pretty nerve wracking, but totally worth it if you're comfortable doing it!
I’m headed to Acadia now! Skipping the Precipice Trail though… thanks for sharing this hike!
Stunning views beautifully photographed - thank you. Acadia NP & Bar Harbor are on our bucket list. Unfortunately, we are a good 30 years too old to hike the Precipice Trail!!!!
There are sooo many amazing trails at the park for all levels, you can't go wrong!
I just did it in Sept. I’m a couple of months away from 60.
That’s awesome!
I loved the precipice trail! This video reminds me of it since it's been a few years but wow, thanks for sharing!!
It's such a fun hike! Glad you have been able to experience it!
Congratulations on tackling the Precipice. The Beehive was enough for me on my last visit, but I may try tackling the Precipice someday.
We contemplated doing both, but thought one was enough haha. Highly recommend Precipice though!
Maine is amazing! The hikes are just the best mix of scenery and challenges, we loved it! And we definitely have a problem, but no plans to fix it 😜
Hiked the precipice when I was your age.
@@AdventuresofAplusK I’ve got a few iPhone videos and pics I’d be glad to let you use. I’m just not sure how to upload them.
Make sure you come back to visit the Finger Lakes.
Go back many years when we lived in Maine, We visited Bar harbor to purchase at Stevie Ray Vaughan album circa 1984! Love your adventure! I just had major knee surgery so your hikes inspire me! Thank you! Amazing video! ~Cara
We hope your knee is doing okay!
I've been lucky enough to hike this trail 3x time now and your video does a great job showing why it's my favorite hike of all time. Technically, some say it's really a climb and not a trail.
This was such a fun trail! It was challenging and fun!
Wow!!! You guys are very brave!
Beautiful !
😍😍
The one trail marker my daughter says “oh no there’s a tombstone!” I informed her it was definitely a trail marker! Thanks for the great video.
Hahahah thankfully not a tombstone!
You guys are go getters and we adore that about you both ❤️ Those we’re not easy hikes but you conquered them both and celebrated with ice cream in true A+K fashion!
Did you even hike if you don’t eat ice cream afterwards?! 😜
Thank you so much Kim! It is tough to film hikes like this sometimes and filming slows us down big time, but we love doing it!
Definitely living vicariously through you two. I couldn't do that first hike. Arcadia's definitely up in the top 5 to visit soon for me. Glad you guys are giving me so many ideas for hikes and food.
It is an amazing park, we hope you can visit soon!
You definitely would NOT like this hike haha! But we felt safe 99% of the time! And it made the 3 scoops more than worth it!
So glad you felt safe 99% of the time!!!
And we couldn’t stop laughing at how cold we were 😂
When I went to Acadia National park we did all these trails and the precipice was definitely the scariest!
It is a tough one!
It is hard when you’re 5 ft 5 in! My legs really had to stretch!
Oh gosh! Slippery rocks and bees may be two of my biggest fears haha! But hey, it sounds extra memorable!
We had the best time at Acadia and on this hike! We hope to be able to say we have been there 5 times someday!
My calves are burning 🔥 and I am just watching your video!
We deserved those 3 scoops lol!
Those boulders were huge! Did you complete both the Precipice and Beehive?
@@AdventuresofAplusK I completed the Precipice and summited the Beehive trail. There was another option on trail and some more hiking off my course to the summit of the Beehive i did not get to yet!
Love the precipice, done it twice already. Took my adult kids to the via Feratta after watching your video. The kids loved it but I had to pass, hurt my shoulder a week before the trip.
Such a fun hike! Via Ferratas are awesome. Good idea skipping it with a bum shoulder! Thanks for watching!
Can’t wait to try this hike!
It’s an absolute blast!
I do this hike almost every year! I love it so much 🥰
That is awesome!!
I went to Acadia National Park in August and had a great time this year and was able to get the milky way in a photo at sand beach
Amazing! The milky way is one of the most magnificent sights!
What a unique hike! would love to do this. Much love, merry christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too!
It might have been cold, but at least the weather was nice enough to give you good views of Arcadia.
The weather was amazing! We actually really enjoy the cold and love experiencing seasons. But maybe I’ve cream inside next time haha
Wow - what a beautiful area! We would love to make it to Acadia someday!
We loved the park so much and highly recommend it!
Cool video, stay warm!
We are now back in Texas, where fall means 80 degrees haha! 😂 Kind of missing that cold day!
Haha.
It sounds so intimidating haha!
Jeez that first hike had my palms sweating lol, I definitely need to go to Acadia!
It is an AMAZING park!
This kinda reminded me of a hike meeting a jungle gym. It surely inspires me to up my mall walking game with some stairs or ramps! 🤪
It definitely was like a jungle gym! You should find a mall with a playground inside haha!
Well done 👏
Lovely video 😊
The first hike made my hands sweat a little just watching, but it looks amazing. I think I'd want to do it without a backpack if possible though! You're right, it's hard to believe they just let people do hikes like that - I mean, who even thought, "lets put a hiking trail here, iron rungs and all..." It's beautiful, but it doesn't look possible, but there it is...and I really want to do it. But it would scare me too...
It’s the perfect mix of challenging, fun, and exhilarating! If you can handle heights, it’s totally worth it!
Great video guys! Not gonna lie the 1st trail wasn't for the faint hearted, phew you needed lots of upper body strength etc. I admire your head for heights. Well done, a great achievement. Take care.
Thanks Wendy! It definitely required a lot of upper body strength!
Hahaha well we are at least glad you could virtually hike it!
Would've LOVED a swinging bridge! Only thing it was missing! Grandfather Mountain looks awesome too!
@@AdventuresofAplusK A+K --- If you like the rock scramble bits without as much exposure as Precipice or Nelson Rocks, then be sure to put Old Rag trail on your expanding bucket list. The views of the Shenandoah valley (Virginia) are tremendous there.
We will have a video from that hike in about 3 videos 😃 It was our second time doing it and it’s a tough one!
Such a BEAUTIFUL hike...way too scary for me...!!! Was that a lighthouse on one of the islands while you were on the Precipice Trail?
It was! Not sure the name of it, but we loved seeing it all the way down there!
@@AdventuresofAplusK It is Egg Rock Light. We took a boat tour out to it and it was really cool.
My sister and I did The Precipice this past September. We’re talking about doing the Via Ferrata. Which one is scarier???
So I ended up turning back and walked to the road like you two did😅
Btw I don’t feel Angel’s landing is hard (probably I’m not super afraid of height and AL is much wider than Precipice..) I don’t know.
@@AdventuresofAplusK For Zion, I like the Observation Point you guys did, which is higher.😄
@@AdventuresofAplusK Reminds me of Steven Wright "I am not afraid of Heights, I am afraid of Widths!"
Thank you for showcasing Maine. Love the Maine coast 😎
Hahaha that’s the perfect quote for me! I hate ledges!
Another great video, sorry I was late watching this one
We're glad you enjoyed it!
thanks A+K
Looks like a difficult hike? I have hiked part of the Beehive Loop Trail in Acadia many years ago. Is there an easier route for seniors?
There isn’t really an easy route for the Precipice unless you just want to hike a side trail to the top to see views, but there are other hikes in the park with similar views as well! All ages (minus small kids) could attempt this hike depending on their hiking and climbing abilities.
What a beautiful view at the top! But, getting there looked a little bit scary. 😟
It was an adventure that's for sure!
Looks amazing! What time of year did you guys visited?
Late October/Early November
Wow what views. Amazing
And I'm right with you there on the ice cream anytime..yummy
Ice cream is worth shivering for haha!
Scary!!
It was a blast!
I've done Bee Hive and Bee Hive is straighter up than this one. Shorter, but steeper I think. This one didn't look as bad, but then again I haven't done this one yet. Going back to Acadia in September. SO excited! What other trails do you recommend?
Gorham mountain trail was one of our favorites! We did bee Hive to gorham mountain to ocean path back to sand beach lot. Great day!
We have a bunch of Acadia guides on our website with tips 😃 And I guess our filming made this look easier than it was, because we have heard it’s a lot more challenging than Beehive from those who have done both! But you’ll have to report back after you visit again!
how long did precipice take ?
Wow you 2 are brave 👏 not for me .I've been to Acadia passed on that hike way to scary for me. Great footage loved seeing it through your video.
Glad we could virtually bring you along!
Hello there… did you guys used normal hiking shoes or you used a rock climbing shoes??
Also, is the whole trail marked?
Hi! We just used our regular hiking shoes. And yes the trail is well marked!
We have a guide on our website if you’re looking for more info. adventuresofaplusk.com/hiking-the-precipice-trail-at-acadia-national-park
Omgoodness, that's not a hike, it's an obstacle course. Happy accidents took you to the road, going up is easier than going down.
Obstacle course is a great way to describe it!
Our lab, Chip does the same thing in the water as Kona! In our Alley Spring video he is running up & down the river with his mouth open. We call him a whale looking for krill 🤣
Hahahaha that’s hilarious! 😂😂
Great views, but I had to fast forward through the scary hike. It made my stomach nervous. I won't be putting that first one on our list. Acadia is one of our favorite parks.
It's definitely not for everyone and that is ok! Lots of other amazing hikes in the park!
