I drove my 2020 C8 Z51 in Ice/Snow mode 40 minutes home through 6 inches of snow today from work to home in Moore, Oklahoma. No problems, just other vehicles throwing up snow and ice on my windshield. I'm happy to see another person not afraid to drive their corvette in the snow. Handles quite well, even though mine isn't awd.
Nice job. That said, having had numerous spins in my Audi RS4 (AWD) on summer high performance tires in the snow; can be really tough to recover a slide once the rubber loses traction.
No one in Dallas is buying winter tires. Even here in louisville, where we get a few snowfalls a year...... still not buying winter tires. I and many others, ride around on michelin ps4 "summer tires" year round with no issues. Just need to know what you're doing.
Thanks for the video. I don't doubt that any C8 Corvette would have a problem in the snow if they have more of a all weather tire and not being lowered. In the 70's my only car was car was a Corvette that I drove to work in the Binghamton, NY area. The roads were often similar to what you drove on or worse. You should try it in a 1968 big block, 435 horsepower 427, with the only traction control being your right foot. Haha!! Anyway, Corvettes have always been a very capable car in the snow with the right tires and experience.
I’ve seen a few of your videos and I think this is the best one ever. I appreciate you not getting caught up in image of just having a corvette. But you’re really showing people the true capabilities of the car. Thanks again
You are so brave Brother!!! I will not even drive my Z06 with the 4s in Temps below 40° I've been too lazy to have my A/S tires put on. Looks like you had a Blast. Great Video Mike!!! Stay safe.
Great video!❤ Thanks for the courage to demonstrate this! I've been wanting an E-Ray since I saw the promo video showing it doing some fun stuff in the snow. I also live in Iowa and would still drive it in the snow ❄️!❤
Thanks for the video. I have decided to buy an ERAY over the Z06, from Rick Conti. I won’t be driving in the winter here in Iowa like Kory but look forward to you and Rick getting together next month and seeing what you guys do.❤
It's good to see how it handled the snow. Got caught in a sudden snow while out in my C7 GS, about the same amount you have. Put it in weather mode, and with my all seasons, it was not a problem. My 78 vette was my daily driver in Michigan and the Northeast for 3 years. No nannies to help and did just fine.
Nice!! Thanks for doing this Mike. I have not ventured into the snow with my e-ray, but if I had to I would. For now I will live vicariously through you!!
It was marketed as four season car! Carlos Lago from Car & Driver had a long term Z51 and loved it. They had AS on was amazing, used the front lift so it wasnt turned into a snow plow.
Good stuff. Not many RUclips car influencers share the performance of their higher-end vehicles in snowy or different weather conditions to see how they hold up. Thanks!!
I cant believe the e ray is lowered like you said. On paper it should be the most affordable awd V8 car you can drive all year. Dont even have to worry about the salt, no steel. Being that low I would be afraid of the wheel well liners blowing out with build up of snow and ice. Thanks for the video!
Driving in snow is fun! I had my Stingray out on my steep driveway and the traction control did fine getting it back in. The only reason I won’t go on streets in winter around here is salt and brine.
You must do two test when on a snowy road. Make sure the road is straight and no cars. Test one. From 20mph slam the breaks and see if and if how far you slide. Now you now your stopping power. Then you floor it half or 3/4 throttle and see how it reacts. This lets you know your limits and makes it super fun to drive in the snow. Used to live in utah and idaho. Never went up the mountain without doing the test. It tells me if its more snow or more ice. SNow is good. ICe is bad.
I was all about getting the E-Ray then I fell in love with the Z06. Mike, you’re messing with my head. Your E-Ray vs. Z06 videos and now this, I’m very perplexed 🤔
Good Video! Can't wait to get an Eray - Loved my 17 NSX, but liked my C8 tech, ERAY is best of both worlds. I will not order it with Zerv package though. I'll take the all seasons.
I left my E-Ray in the garage all tucked in cozy warm and clean & drove my '23 F250 4dr KR FX4 around in 4H. It really wasn't all that bad out & traffic was very light which always helps in inclement weather. Have fun cleaning up the mess.
Brother, relax. I’ve driven mine in the snow just for fun and because I got mine 12/6/24 and couldn’t wait. I have all season tires though. Stay cool, lower your speeds and look ahead. No sweat.
Driving in snow is fun! I too daily drove RWD V-8s from 16 and sometimes with summer tires. 😂 It is a great skill for sure. I had my Stingray out on my steep driveway and the traction control did fine getting it back in. The only reason I won’t go on streets in winter around here is salt and brine.
If they salt your roads hose that baby down.. I remember back in the late 70's when I owned a camaro I couldnt get out of my driveway. The tires just spun...Cool video....
Yeah it had no problem ! I think only if the snow was deep the vette will be lifted up off the road and you will get no traction but on this less than 3 “ not bad not bad if this was your only way to get someplace then it would work but most would drive a clunker in the snow .
Back in the day, 1988, I drive my IROC-Z thirty miles on the highway during a major snowstorm here in Connecticut. Well over 8” inches of snow and HILLS. No traction control, none of the technology there is today. And on Goodyear Eagle GTs. Made it home just fine but it wasn’t easy. Good old days.
I thought you took a quick trip to NJ and didn't tell me. 😁 The best part of your experimental ride was that you had no traffic. One has to remember that most of your citizenry does not know how to drive in the snow. THAT's the real danger in taking your car out, any car. I guess since you don't get any amount of snow to worry about that you don't have salt to worry about. Or do you? Nice to see that the front splitter also doubles as a Cow Catcher. 🤣 When you order and E Ray or ZO6 or any C8, does GM give you tire options? I think your cleaning up will start a few hours from now. Not just with the car, but with your garage floor. 😁 Oh yeah. I would have thought Neighbor Mark would have joined you. Ah, he was probably home having some hot chocolate and just relaxing and was wondering how many nutty people are going to go out for a little drive. 🤣 I enjoyed the video, Mike. Save the Wave 🙋♂
Hello from Houston. Kinda just stumbled on this video. Dont know much about this car. Thats interesting it has an electric motor to drive the font wheels and a V8 engine to drive the rear wheels to give AWD. Stupid security guard ruining your fun lol. Thanks for the video.
Stradman does a little more crazy stuff in the snow with his cars but I give you credit to give it a shot to see how the E-Ray does in the snow great content 😬😳🥶😶🌫️😥
Impressive. I'm curius as to how that sno got in the side vents. Its not like he was plowing through the snow and I don't believe it was kicked back from the tires.
Cool vid! I’d still rather just have a z06 and not drive it in the snow. 😂 Speaking of snow and tires. My civic with snow tires was able to drive through 12” drifted unplowed snow. The same car got stuck in 2” last year. Man, snow tires are awesome. Ohio here. go bucks!
No offense, but up here in PA I would never lower one of these cars. Just wondering, does the battery continue to charge during the type of driving you showed here.
OMG😅 you SnowFlake Yanks cracked us up! Here in Canada we'd have driven that All Wheel Drive Corvette like a BigFoot Monster Truck. My 2020 Z51 with it's stock tires goes around just fine all Winter. ( no front lift ) Unless it's been lowered, your front splitter is still 2 or 3 inches above that insignificant little bit of snow on those streets. ...not actually trying to throw shade,.. love your channel 😏
Didn’t everybody see that bad ass video of the ray to high-speed broad slides in the snow? It was demonstrating that you shouldn’t do this but you can. All wheel drive performs well in ice and snow.
Mike, I tend to agree that in terms of traction, 40 degrees on these tires at minimum speed is not a problem. But doesn't Michelin recommend not driving on these tires below 40 degrees because the tire compound is not designed for lower temperatures? So it's not traction ... it tire degradation that worries me.
I don't think you ae crazy. Some people want to own a drivable trophy and some people want to have fun driving a sports car. I respect both, but I tend to lean a little bit your way and enjoy the car. Great video!
how does it handle transmission life longevity is what we really want to know, word on the street is transmission will absolutely fail, if yours hasnt yet it will.
If you want to drive your E ray in snow, then join me here in Canada and you can get a lot more opportunities to drive your e ray here. In fact, you would get at least five months of opportunities to test drive your e ray in snow up here.
So am I crazy for doing this?

Enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking the Eray out in the snow/slush, and I'm glad you made it back to the garage without any issues.
You have been waiting for this moment!! It doesn't typically snow in the D. Have Fun and be safe.
Sure enough, and thank you 😊
Taking advantage of this weather opportunity perfectly.
BRAVO!
Nice job. That said, having had numerous spins in my Audi RS4 (AWD) on summer high performance tires in the snow; can be really tough to recover a slide once the rubber loses traction.
It was amazing to see the E-Ray perform in the snow... Amazing to see where the snow go into the air intake......
Its really about the tires !! Put the correct tires " winter tires " on and it will perform like a champ !!!!
No one in Dallas is buying winter tires. Even here in louisville, where we get a few snowfalls a year...... still not buying winter tires. I and many others, ride around on michelin ps4 "summer tires" year round with no issues. Just need to know what you're doing.
amen. I purchased snow tires for my civic as I was tired of getting stuck in 2”. It’s like driving a tank now. Nothing stops me.
It will get stuck in deep snow. It won’t make it even with the snow tires
Run Michelin Alpines on my C6 for the colder months
Thanks for the video. I don't doubt that any C8 Corvette would have a problem in the snow if they have more of a all weather tire and not being lowered. Definitely think you’re crazy for doing this! But, that’s one of the reasons I enjoy your channel for real-life and useful information. Much ❤ BOS!!!

Thank you Greg, it was definitely nerve wracking. 😊👍
FACTS!!! I have Michelin A/S tires and won't drive below 30 with no snow! Great test video!
Love my ERay too much to test it like you did...kudos for doing it. Glad to see that if I had to. It would perform well enough to get me home.
Hey! I live in Carrollton, not far from you.
I’m glad you made this video.
That E-Ray is doing a very impressive job in this weather.
Stay safe!
Great video!❤
Thanks for the courage to demonstrate this! I've been wanting an E-Ray since I saw the promo video showing it doing some fun stuff in the snow. I also live in Iowa and would still drive it in the snow ❄️!❤
"Sponsored by Valentine One" LOL - when you started the car (such a great detector!). Thanks for the video.
Great to know I got a allocation for a ERay working on my build now in michigan ! 😎
Go Mike good to see my buddy is waiting for his E-ray he lives in the Reno area lots of snow cant wait to share the video
You're my hero Mike! These cars were made to be driven! Especially the E-Ray.
Thanks for the video. I have decided to buy an ERAY over the Z06, from Rick Conti. I won’t be driving in the winter here in Iowa like Kory but look forward to you and Rick getting together next month and seeing what you guys do.❤

I’m the only one out here in Massachusetts driving my 2023 stingray all year round and I never had a problem. Now my C7 is in the garage
Nice!! Thanks for doing this Mike. I have not ventured into the snow with my e-ray, but if I had to I would. For now I will live vicariously through you!!
Nice bro good job! You are a brave man. I would have been a little nervous too. Thanks for showing us what the Eray could do in inclement weather. 👍🏾
It was marketed as four season car! Carlos Lago from Car & Driver had a long term Z51 and loved it. They had AS on was amazing, used the front lift so it wasnt turned into a snow plow.

Glad to see you enjoying your Eray in the snow that would be the only reason I would choose one over a zo6
I never drive mine if there's a chance for rain because I hate washing cars.....lol
Mike, thanks for the ride along in the snow. The AWD seems to work well. I would not have tried this but then again im a lot like neighbor Mark😂
Before I could afford a luxury car as a spare, I drove my Corvettes year around. Not a problem you just learn how to handle it. I'm in PA.
Awesome video! I took my gen 1 Raptor out and had a blast in the high school parking lot across the street LOL
Good for you! I have multiple cars and trucks so living in So Cal my C8 is a sunny day car only.
Ooh! It’s a blizzard!
I was all about getting the E-Ray then I fell in love with the Z06. Mike, you’re messing with my head. Your E-Ray vs. Z06 videos and now this, I’m very perplexed 🤔
This is the sole reason I would buy an E-Ray over a Z06. Great video!

Good job. Glad you made it back safely.
Suprised at those temps, your tires have not cracked and shredded. Thanks for the content!
You da man! Tear it up!!!!!
Heck yeah! 😊👍
If they salt your roads hose that baby down.. I remember back in the late 70's when I owned a camaro I couldnt get out of my driveway. The tires just spun...Cool video....
Oh, wow! That is a true snow apocalypse!
Love it man
Great vid Mike. Yeah you crazy. Lol
Great video Mike. There is a used 2024 E-Ray at Classic Chev. $116k. I don't see many used E-Rays.
That was a great video
Nice video! Thanks for the video. Awesome info! I’m thinking about buying a eray this year. I Live in San Antonio.
Nice video! From Colorado and live in Colorado Springs!
If I had enough money, I'd definitely buy an E-Ray for the winter!
This is why I say the ERAY is my favorite most people live where it snows
Yeah it had no problem ! I think only if the snow was deep the vette will be lifted up off the road and you will get no traction but on this less than 3 “ not bad not bad if this was your only way to get someplace then it would work but most would drive a clunker in the snow .

This is exactly why I bought an Eray. I’m up north
My car is staying in the garage... Call me Neighbor Mark if you like lol
Lol
Neighbor Mark Junior!
Good video
I live in St Louis Mo and the DOT puts salt on the roads. I keep my C8 in the garage during snowy weather.
“A blizzard “ hahaha.. I live in Pennsylvania, that’s nothing but a light dusting. lol. Great video though BOS, keep’’em coming. 👍🏻
Mike the C7 Z06 jacket looks good
Thank you Clay!

Have you seen Rick Conte new donuts in the parking lot and drive it up in Illinois
Looks pretty clear to me
4S all seasons correct??
Impressive. I'm curius as to how that sno got in the side vents. Its not like he was plowing through the snow and I don't believe it was kicked back from the tires.
did you notice your 2024 engine cold start to be quieter than your older c8 stingrays?
Cool vid! I’d still rather just have a z06 and not drive it in the snow. 😂 Speaking of snow and tires. My civic with snow tires was able to drive through 12” drifted unplowed snow. The same car got stuck in 2” last year. Man,

Your car might melt. Here in Indiana my Vette is in hibernation until spring.
Lol
It's a great car for dry roads and with the right tires I'm sure it's capable on winter, but this is why I daily drive a Raptor.

Try control braking and turning
A clip of this video belongs in a GM commercial for great promotion of the E Ray..
E-Ray, E-Ray! Stand by for action!
Anything can happen in the next half hour!
I don't think you ae crazy. Some people want to own a drivable trophy and some people want to have fun driving a sports car. I respect both, but I tend to lean a little bit your way and enjoy the car. Great video!
What are doing...driving Miss Daisy around? Get out there and do a launch on a snow covered back road, then I'll be impressed. 😂😂😂
how does it handle transmission life longevity is what we really want to know, word on the street is transmission will absolutely fail, if yours hasnt yet it will.
One reason I would not is that TexDot is spraying brine on the roads and bridges. It’s corrosive to aluminum, etc
I didn’t know that! Thanks. I thought we’d be safe since they don’t use salt. I won’t be taking mine out then!
If you want to drive your E ray in snow, then join me here in Canada and you can get a lot more opportunities to drive your e ray here. In fact, you would get at least five months of opportunities to test drive your e ray in snow up here.
God bless you, those tires are just awful for that.
So, what’s the answer? Was your E-Ray made for Snow and Ice Weather in Dallas, TX? 🤷🏻♂️
Please Advise us of the answer!
No you aren't crazy maybe insane but Thank showing what C8 Eray is capable in the snow😊
Slush isn't as bad as un-melted snow, it would be a nightmare running summers on fresh snow, you'd perform considerably worse.
Plow roads in Texas?!? My C8 is in the garage.
The amount of snow in the video can be done in damn near any car on winter tires not all seasons
Bet you can’t do 0-60 in 2.2.
lol 😊
And?
