Flagships were traditionally cameras built to be highspeed sturdy workhouses not megapixels. Sony got people thinking's otherwise with the A1 but that is Sony, not Canon. They have different ideologies. They could release a high MP camera but it wont be highspeed. If Canon does make an R1X, they aren't prioritizing a section of the market that wants over 45MP/$6K+ cameras. It could be too niche from a business stand point. Fuji, Hassblad, and Phaseone have 100MP+ cameras but their sales are probably NO WHERE as close to cameras with way less MP.
