Life is too short. Go and do what makes you happy and relax. Fishing is meant to be enjoyed. Not stressful and tension running high, like tournaments seem to bring. I wish you all the best in whatever you are doing. Cubby
Tournaments or not this one of the best fresh water fishing channels out there! Im going to watch regardless! I hope you catch a giant spencer and ill be here to watch it!! Hit that like button folks!
Do what makes you most happy man and don’t stress it. Love watching your videos before going to bed waking up at 4:30 to do the 4:00 to 2:00 everyday, one of my highlights for sure.
Them tournaments can really be a kick in the nuts to your confidence as a fisherman. It seems we always do the worst when when our confidence is highest. My best tournaments are when I can just mentally treat it like any old day out on the water fishing for fun. The tournament mindset speeds a lot of people up mentally and makes them rush. You're a great fisherman, most the guys I fish with learned everything they know from your videos. Keep your head up player, you'll have your day in the sun.
You’re as real as it gets man! You’re a great teacher. I’ve seen a lot of your videos for some years now. This is the first one where I’ve heard you swear lol. That’s my go to catch phrase when it’s not going my way 😬. Any adventure is always fun so bring it on! Also Sam and Ryan are an awesome addition… anyway thanks for the fun. You should get rid of that stupid hat though
I really appreciate all the time and energy you put in filming your adventures. It cannot be easy, you seem to have the perfect fisherman temperament and it makes your videos a joy to watch, even when you aren't slaying the fish.
22 you so much for sharing these fabulous fishing videos. I really can say that I have learned alot from watching. Dude you're quite the guy. However, I' must say in my opinion that it's mighty concerning watching you fish while it's thunderstorms out. Please be very careful and stay safe. God bless you and yours.
And I'm glad you enjoy them. We would have took cover, but the lightning was short lived enough where it would have been past us by the time we reeled everything in. Thankfully it all worked out. I appreciate the concern.
Bud fishing competitively is extremely taxing and tough, you'll be going up against fellas that's been covering these waters for decades and that makes it tough along with the unpredictable weather. I say do what you like best but still fish a few tournaments each year. Also, I am a firm believer that Skip and Wood need to be in the boat on tourney day! When those fellas are in the boat you do some of your best fishing! Keep it up, win or lose we'll be here waiting on each vid you post man.
That's what I'm gonna shoot for I think. Skip definitely would have been in the boat if the wind wouldn't have been blowing like it was. I think you're right though. He brings a little bit of luck with him. I appreciate all of that a ton man!
Wow Spencer. Damn it 🤯. Use your words Spencer hahahaha. You are the most chilled, no swearing, which I appreciate. But sometimes you just need to let those words out 👍. Another exciting video.
Well that says it. If you take the fun out, what's left. Just fishing with no expectations is the best kind. Have some fun with it. But always, stay safe.
I enjoy your videos better when you aren't in a tournament. You seem more relaxed, happier, and of course you get to bring Skip! Love your channel and I hope YOU catch a GIANT!
Entry fee 20.00$ boat repair $150.00 you're correct the prefish hammers the fish, they aren't hungry, thanks for the trip Spencer, now have some fun and no stress fishing
I’m looking forward to you exploring too. These tournaments aren’t working out. LMAO. Jk. Always fun to see you in your element. Your outro is hilarious. Just keep doing you, it’s awesome.
I've been fortunate to have a few top 10 tens and a top 5, but have definitely had some bombs. I've learned a ton though, and that's what I wanted out of it.
Love seeing the tournament fishing. But you should definitely get back to the yak fishing. Catching monsters in tiny water. Just keep doing you brother!
Hey Spencer. Better luck next time. And all you can do is try your best. And you for one, always do that. Back when I was younger and fished carp and catfish tournaments myself, there was ALWAYS alot of luck that went into winning them. You'll win your share, I'm sure of it.👍🏻Always appreciate your videos bud.
Hey Spencer ….. enjoyed the video …. Definitely can’t wait for your kayak videos. It’s May 9th at 6:15pm …. I’m headed out to see if I can catch a a 35” plus channel cat to beat my last PB. Last one was 33 inches but he was a fatty. State channel record is 29 pounds. I called the state DEP and they have no certified scales in my area. However, the guy I spoke to told me to send me a pic if I catch one in that range. As always, Dan
Love watching the videos, but yes I miss the small river stuff big time.. I would love to see a lot of kayaking and camping with you and Ryan and where did Denny go? I've been wearing out your old videos because they are more relatable..
Bro that was one hell of a try and I like all your videos. But when you get down to the nitty gritty there's a special place in my heart for big flat heads in a kayak
I almost commented on your last video that I miss kayak Spencer and camp catch and cooks. Been following you since about day one and miss the old ways a little. Great work though still here and following.
I am itching to get out on my kayak too! Fishing from a boat on big water just isn't the same, somehow I feel much closer to nature in a kayak, just need the water to warm up a little bit here in Missouri.
Definitely one of the biggest hopefully see you at the rising sun tournament in September it's usually about same amount or a little bit more boats but definitely a blast.
Getting back to the river certified I started out watching I fish a few tourneys here and there but my passion is stream fishin channel cats and smallies just got a kayak to go get a bit farther than I like to hike into
@@RiverCertified you ever check out Justin from KayakCatfush could be KayakKatfish. The man is the king of "Tupperware Boat" fishing. Fishes the Tennessee River mostly. Lot of tournaments.
You the man I still haven't got a nice flathead yet. Buddy went with me got a nice one. I have a lot of small muddy rivers around me an I'm about to get a kayake to get away from the beatin path
Well out of all those boats, I sure hope you fellars got into some money, at least show ( win, place, show, you know) , that’s pony racing talk, that’s seems fitting there. Haha! Ain’t no way of Jerry rigging that Bimini top up? Shoot I believe I’d be trying to finger it out somehow, lol, know what I mean Vern? Haha!
Yep, my bimini did that on the first rough water ride. I replaced every rivet once I realized they used aluminum rivets... damn shame cause that setup is strong otherwise.
And thats why river fishing is better get back on your kayak Spencer its way more fun than hauling a boat spending tons of money in has and gear just a couple of rods and tons of fish! Love ya bro
Enjoyed the video. Was the Bimini top a seaark top and did u do something wrong to get it to break or just too rough and it should not be up under rough conditions. I am going to get a protege soon
Glad ya enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with the bimini design, it was just super rough the first few miles from the ramp. Every single boat in the tournament had stuff break. I was able to repair it.
There are a lot of good catfishermen out there just most of them can't afford to do it for a living yet alone in a 60,000 dollar boat. Those seaark easy cat's though sure look purdy 🤤 one day maybe!
It all depends on what you want to do with it man. For small water, it's tough to beat the crescent shoalie, but they're expensive. Ascend H10s are solid for the money.
Me and my buddy Mel had many trips to wappapelo lake in Mo. and caught many catfish. Sadly he can't fish anymore, he's got diabetes so bad that he can't even get in and out of the boat. It's sad to see a man come to that reality.
I've enjoyed watching most of your videos; but you have been looking more haggard with each video.. I hope you are able to get some rest as you get back to basics, and I look forward to seeing the next adventure. "I hope you catch a giant!"
I love tournament fishing, but I can’t wait to see you pulling big flatheads out of brush piles in small water, Spencer!
Yep same man same
I love them old videos as well bro 👍 hopefully he can get on some of them this year 💯
I've been scouring google earth and scheming up some spots to hit. I'm getting excited myself.
So do all his old subscribers. That’s the whole reason I subscribed. Now he’s just another guy in a boat.
@@ryanharrod1155 I'm not sure if this is a compliment or an insult
Sure miss you pulling that yak up to a big log jam and pulling a big flatty out of it
Me too. Hopefully I luck onto a few this spring and summer.

Stormy day, no Bimini top. Perfect!! Hey, that first Flathead looked hungry for sinkers. Lol
It's funny how it works out that way lots of times. He was spared from eating sinkers haha
Personally I enjoy the lower stress levels of non-tournament fishing. Regardless, I'll be watching. Your content is always top shelf. Thanks man.
And I appreciate that immensely. I'm always trying different stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't haha.

I really appreciate all the time and energy you put in filming your adventures. It cannot be easy, you seem to have the perfect fisherman temperament and it makes your videos a joy to watch, even when you aren't slaying the fish.
You are my favorite fishing program and your personality. You are the stuff anglers are made of 😊
I can see how tournaments kinda take the fun out of it, but just as a spectator the little hit of adrenaline is exciting.
It's a grind, but I'll keep chipping away at them here and there. I'm glad you enjoy watching them.

I'm gonna fish a few tournaments this summer, but I'm gonna do a whole lot more fun fishing for sure. Focus more on having fun than catching fish.

I like how he say little flat head and proceed to net a fish bigger then anything I have ever pulled out of the water 🤣🤣🤣

I got my new PB this morning. 36lb Flathead on the Raccoon River with live bullhead. The tree shaker is from Troy on Swamp People.
Have never tournament fished. Hope to someday until then I am undefeated in tournaments. Go do what you enjoy. Love your content.
Nobody understands the clumsiness felling when you go from crocs and tacky shorts to bibs and boots in one day. 😂
