It was a dumb idea to bring his kids, but this is their culture and way of life. They want their children to keep their native ways on the land. So they teach them their native land and stuff like how to fish for food.

RIP, really sad. Still trying to understand how he who lived there for years among the wild, not be prepared for polar bear attacks. No weapons? No firearms? Nothing? Take your kids out to a remote island with increase numbers of polar bears around the area and not expecting any crossing with hungry bears? I know he saved his kids, but they are beyond traumatize witnesses what happened.
How many fathers in that region took their children to that location knowing what is out there? Sounds like another bad decision that cost the father his life. Hopefully his children will learn from this costly mistake.
Well, when in Polar Bear Territory, especially with vulnerable children, carry a gun. If he is that aware of all of the wildlife and had been taught what to do, then he would have been carrying a gun. Anything else is madness and major risk taking. Seriously, never go into any kind of predator country without bear spray, a rifle or shotgun, and side arm.
I won’t even consider a trip if my guns are not cleaned, lubed, and ready to go. My guns never leave my side when out in nature.
R.I.P. 🙏🙏😪😪
R.I.P. wildlife.
Nearly 8 Billion people can spare some. Polar bears, not so much.
Sorry to be blunt but I'm sure many people with common sense, or any experience with wild predators, would agree.
I hope this man is standing tall in the halls ov valhalla. A good man that literally gave it all for his kids.
