Being born in raised in Alaska, I wasn't too affected by the difference in light throughout the year. The nightless summers were hard to sleep through and Anchorage has been getting in the 90s during the summer so that's no fun. The winters get cold and dark but that's to be expected, but those who are very eager to move to the state underestimate the effect the eternal freezing night can have. You're disconnected from the rest of the country so those from other states often become depressed and let down. I only warn people about moving to the state because I love it dearly and it pains me when people become spiteful of it because it wasn't what they were expecting. It's a lovely place to live but you cannot expect to live anything like your life in the Lower 48. (The Lower 48 is Alaskan slang for the Continental US)
This made my day watching this video, you covered a lot of information that many people will never bother to learn on their own. I also got a good giggle listening to the pronunciations but everyone struggles until they hear someone else say it. Another fact about our state is that our flag was designed by Bennie Benson, a 13yr old orphan :)
I'm taking a trip to Fairbanks in January. Cross my fingers that I will have clear skies for the Northern lights. 🤞🏽

Wow You’re back uploading again! Just Love this video. Will have to watch it at least twice, first because it’s so interesting. Alaska, the most eastern state? That’s so fascinating, would never had guessed that. And second, it’s incredibly relaxing. Love the soft speaking, will definitely watch this tonight before I fall asleep. The Arctic circle is actually defined by the fact that anywhere north of there will have at least one day of a full 24 hours of daylight in the peak of summer time. And obviously more and more days the further north you go.

It's back! The problem with this series is I can't appreciate all the research, as I get sleepy within the first few minutes
