Dude this whole “let’s break the rules and see what THIS does” is how _real_ innovations happen! This is one of the coolest videos you’ve made so far and I’m only 5 minutes in!
I'm 30 years old. Turn 31 in November. But your videos greatly help me with my depression. Thank you for what you do and how you teach. Truly one of a kind

Thanks for helping me get into fishing man! Its now my favorite pass time and its allowed me to grow a lot closer to my older brother through a common interest. Keep up the good work my dude.
My birthday was sept 24th. I told my fiancé to go on your amazon page and pick me out something. She got me the Irwin saw, and the work sharp! That thing is awesome! Love the videos! You’re amazing at making baits!
2:22 You pointing things out is the greatest part of your videos. Partly due to the fact it cracks me up because that's kind of the way I think as well. It expresses who you are and how you think and quite honestly it's refreshing. That may not be a good thing as well though. Either way I can say that I'm proud to have good friends that are kind of like you.
Every time I come up with what I think is a clever idea, someone much smarter has come up with it way before I did and it's not put into practice for a good reason. That being said, I love the experiment videos and even if they don't work out, it's still interesting. Keep them coming
Radiata pine. I love pine. I use pine for appearance when building things around the house. I think even yellow pine is beautiful. The grain on it always fascinates me.
This is actually a really good idea, because you can fish this at any depth! It seems like alot of crankbaits try to boast about how deep they can run, but with this, you just let it sink to the depth you want, and start working it.
Imagine a sideways crankbait where the lip slides side to side, making it do an S, but it would have to be topwater or very evenly balanced between floating and sinking
I mean, you would need to have some mechanics, like maybe fins on the side that catch water and push out the other fin while making the lip slide to the side
Awesome that you tested a new design! I admire the determination to catch a fish with that bait. Watching your videos has me trying to make my own lures, but I’ve yet to find a decent wire around the shop to use that is stiff enough and doesn’t break to use for the tie on point and hooks. Looking forward to the next video, thank you for sharing your craftsmanship.
So I just started fishing, along with making my own lures a couple of weeks ago. After losing every lure I've made by getting jammed between rocks, probably because I don't know what the hell I'm doing, I came up with this exact solution. My hope was as I reeled it in, it would float over over the rocks. Mine did not even work as well as yours, and I lost it anyway, but I think there's still promise. Instead of carving this last one out of wood though, I just sculpted it out of J-B Weld putty, which was very quick and easy. For the bottom half of the lure I used steel infused kind, and the upper half I used the plastic kind and put an air pocket in it for buoyancy. It's already full of epoxy, so there was no need to seal it. The two kinds of J-B weld gave it a decent looking counter-countershading pattern so I didn't even bother painting it. Anyway, that's just an idea you might want to try in case you have any other silly ideas you want to try but aren't sure you want to invest the time.
I'm a bullet caster and I'm surprised that when you pour in your molten lead we don't see all kinds of smoke when the molten lead makes contact with the wood; especially using lighter weight woods like pine. The melting point of lead is a bit over six-hundred degrees and when I've inadvertently dropped any wood chips in my melting pot those wood chips almost instantaneously start to burn. Some bullet casters use certain kinds of wood chips as a flux to separate out impurities. How do you keep your wooden lures from going up in smoke?
Ok so make like “toy” baits and see if you can catch something. Like make a sponge bob or Patrick or make a Homer or Bart or whatever, you’re really talented and if fish will bite a blank block , they’ll bite homer. Dude, that would be amazingly entertaining.
Please... I love one days and how consistently you upload, but the good ole “making a ---- lure” we’re so interesting. I loved how you made strange items into lures.
I definitely know what you mean! I've been trying to convert regular cranks to do this. Got the sinking down with shaving top of lure and gluing on lead weights. Used weedless worm hook on tail. Main problem is standard shapes look weird. Good action is climb to top and let it fall! If only I had woodworking skills like you do.
I binged watched loads of your videos, and totally loved them!!! I have really enjoyed every single one of them, they have inspired me to make an English Pike jerkbait, so thanks for your videos, they are really detailed and honest!!!
Having that bell on just made my day. Kicking back and can't wait to see some amazing craftsmanship. By the way, that was my favorite end to a video ever.
