My son was a fan of Disturbed. Now that he has passed away I listen to the words of Disturbed songs and find I have become a fan. The words within their songs touch my heart. Thank you for reminding me of my son!
My deepest condolences to you, family and friends. I, too, just lost my son, in a car accident, 4 months ago, he also is a fan, Disturbed was his and his older brother's first concert. Such fond memories of shows, listening to the music coming thru the door and walls. This song has helped carry me thru this past month. Big hugs to you. Please, stay strong. 💕
I think you are confusing range with tone. Range is your ability to think through options. His range isn’t anything remarkable and this song. He’s just changing his tone and style which is still very impressive but that’s not range.
Just like rhythm ha anything to do with being able to do a lot on drums with your feet and hands. That’s coordination and being able to perform lose dance movements is also not rhythm. Rhythm is your ability to keep tempo without slowing or speeding up. No coordination.
I'm sure they would, but they won't. Their music is explicitly message driven, and Kiss from a Rose doesn't have a 'message'. It's just an exceedingly good love song.
I have so much respect for Disturbed, I was going through a difficult time in life were I thought that nobody needed me and I was nothing but a failure in the eyes of the world. Then I heard A Reason to Fight, and I quite literally owe my life to this band. So thank you Disturbed, for providing light when I thought there was only darkness.
A Reason To Fight was a driving force that kept me motivated after the first day of eating disorder rehab. I was walking through the streets at night going through the new album when this time came on and I lost it then and there. It's going to be a keeper for a very long time.
7 years ago I walked into a cold hospital room. My son diagnosed with cancer. His headphones on listening to Disturbed " Down with the sickness" I judged and didn't listen and I'm a old school rocker. Fast forward, 2+ yeArs fighting, a bone marrow transplant and a loss of my son and now "Sound of Silence", Hold on to the memories" and now this remake of Sting " if I ever lose myself" . I did gain Disturbed as a favorite band. As Cat Stevens once said "it's a wild world?
Big fan of Sting, and I grew up with Simon and Garfunkel. Strange how my two favorites (so far) from this band are covers that have offered me a different way to hear songs I loved and thought I knew and see them in a whole new light.
Have you heard their version of Gensis or Phil Collin song "Land of Confusion"? It's another awesome cover. It's amazing how they can make the song their own. There version has a completely different meaning for me then the original, but it's just as powerful.
Has anyone else here ever wondered if posing as another person...or band....online can have legal consequences?. Apparently, the answer is "YES". A misdemeanor can get someone a whole year in prison, plus all legal fees!!. Even worse, a felony charge can get you 3 YEARS in prison, plus all legal fees AND $10,000 in fines. Nobody here has to worry about that, though, I'm sure.........If there WAS, though, it would be a good idea to delete the evidence and never do it again. You know, just to be safe.
I needed this, you're not my favorite band for nothing. Every time I needed you, you were there for me, even without knowing me, you were there. I simply love you. WE ARE ALL DISTURBED!
I love how even in Disturbed's lightest sounding songs, they bring in a harder section to lift up the tone just the right amount for expression of how deep their passion is about the song.
That transition to the metal part hits like a train, always amazed at how good this band are. They continually improve with every evolution. Phenomenal range and talent.
I was reading youre comment and was first listening to "the sound of silence" and this one was recommended. So i started reading the comments while listening. So then i readed youre comment and was like this isn.t metal but then while i was typing. The transistion hit and i was amazed. Thanks. You have made a skillet fan also a disturbed fan
They're really not though. Their best stuff is Believe to Asylum, then it sadly went steadily downhill. I can't even listen to Evolution, it's just so generic and not Disturbed anymore. But their Sound of Silence is a true masterpiece, no argument there :)
My brother died on 4/13/21 We played Sound of Silence as the mortuary rolled him out of his hospital room. We cried and sang and just celebrated his life. RIP Paul. I've listened to Disturbed's version so much, I prefer it over Simon & Garfunkel's version (the one we grew up listening to, lol) Thank you for Hold on to Memories as well, I have listened to both of these songs so much for the last 6 days. My grief is raw, but these 2 songs have helped immensely.
I never cared for the original song, but this version really hit me hard. As someone who has struggled with depression for years, Disturbed's take on the message of this song is extremely inspiring. If I ever lose my faith in... myself, then what's left? Thank you, Disturbed! Brilliant!
@@annabanna8852 I don't believe in gods. I'm not convinced gods exist. And I surely do not appreciate your preaching, because it doesn't help anyone. It comes across as condescending, lazy and very uncalled for. Depression is a real serious problem if not taken care of by a doctor... and I'm very thankful for my doctor's support. Also, this is a music video, by an amazing group, and it's pure art with a beautiful and clear message. I really don't care if you agree with the message or not.
@@GabeCoolwater Sometimes, you should question why I wrote this to you! I have better things to do with my time , than go around preaching about God, for absolutely no reason! This song is about ‘ losing one’s faith in ONESELF’ , it’s about losing one’s faith in YOU, ( yourself, the ego, the ‘ I’)…. And in Islam, this ‘ I’, is a god, it’s your personal god, SATAN!….It’s saying that when we worship our own personal god, i.e when we follow our own desires, lusts, needs, wants etc, it will lead to us ultimately, suffering from severe depression with suicide ideation! And this feeling is Hellfire itself! Which we taste in this life, and unless we repent and completely change our ways, will follow us into the NEXT LIFE! You won’t be able to run away from it, not even on death! We have such a high degree of depression at the moment, because people have not followed the laws of the Quran-Being kind to parents, not backbiting, not cheating, not lying, not committing adultery, not drinking alcohol, not gambling, not having pre-marital relationships, not getting into debt etc etc….Doctors just give out medication, which numbs the pain, but doesn’t solve the issue! If we have done something wrong, we should own up, no matter what. And if people have hurt us, we should forgive and forget.
@gabecoolwater4497, I wholeheartedly agree and support you here! Only someone who has ever dealt with depression/anxiety/suicidal ideation, whatever, truly understands the message being said here!
I am 40 and I am just realized how much I love metal. Thank you disturbed . I absolutely love this remake and sound of silence. I absolutely love David’s powerful voice . Can’t wait to go to a concert when he comes to my city
I'll be 60 this year, just found this band & I love them. I've lost 2 adult children & my husband in the last few years & when I'm feeling any which way, Disturbed always has a song.
My brother Ryan introduced me to Disturbed back in, I believe 2001 and I was hooked. He passed in 2008 and every time I see or hear Disturbed my heart smiles. I love you guys!
@@matthewlee8852 That would be awesome in a more aggressive way. I'm now contemplating a Cornell/Draiman/Bennington/Taylor collab, for the ultimate in aggression and feeling. Sadly, impossible, but cerrtainly your suggestion could still happen!

@@Greasy__Bear The word church is specific to one religion. By disturbed changing the lyric to Religion he is now encompassing all organized religion. When Sting sings the song, he is singing to Jesus Christ. When disturbed did their retelling i am not sure if they are still singing to Jesus Christ. I only discovered Disturbed a week ago when the Conan Sounds of Silence popped up in my youtube "Up Next" and I played it. I now want to marry David's voice. BTW, I'm 67 and love rock, but have never been into headbanging heavy metal. I will now brave *all* of Disturbed's material just to listen to David. The other musicians are great but David may have my most favorite voice ever.
Debbie, I'm 65, also love classic rock, and I would do SO many things to David's voice! :) Treat yourself and watch the stunning imagery laden official "Sound of Silence" stunning video. Then listen to "Stricken," "Down with the Sickness," and (my personal favorite) "Stupify" by Disturbed. "Stupify' is actually how I discovered Disturbed. The song is in the end credits for "Little Nicky," an Adam Sandler film. After years of bobbing my head to it, I finally looked it up on RUclips. I shared my knew discovery with a friend at work with similar tastes and he suggested I check out Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence." I did, then watched the live version on Conan, and then decided that I could do SO many wonderful things to David's voice. :)
This has been my favorite Sting song for decades. I lost my mind when I saw that Disturbed not only covered it but smashed it into something wonderful.
This is ok, but it hardly "smashes" this song into something wonderful. This song by Sting is one wonderful song and it has been for a long time. This version isnt even close to the same level as Sting.
@@Timmeh_The_tyrant As a fan of the Police and later stigs solo career, I say it is but the mood or perspective at the time of its listening, taste is after all subjective Sting's is a more traditional message he loved his love triangles or of one obsessing over another, the projection of their focus directed onto another, where as Disturbed cover is the focus is introspective, there is no other there to hold your hand, facing whatever fears, insecurities cross road moments we more often than not face alone, with often only an inner strength and faith in ourselves to push on one day at a time. As such the take is a refreshing twist and maybe more relevant to many today. So David didnt just cover the song he created something new. (and this is a thing Sting would himself love, as he says we all borrow from the old to often create something new)
David has such a beautiful therapeutic voice disturbed is a truly legendary band deserve all the fame they truly have and achieved and deserved ❤️🥹🤘❤️🎧😋rock on keep it up beautiful cover
@@multisafttv At least 58K people think otherwise, funny, hadn't considered asylum as old shit but i see it has been 10 years already, time flies. @Disturbed, I really hope you guys read these comments, many many people have lost, and through their loved ones have grown to love you and your music. I have loved you guys since day one!
I'm a absolute lover of Lou Gramm and his voice and have listened to everyone that's tried so far to do justice to his songs and haven't found one! But I do think Disturbed can pull it off. Like Lou Gramm, he's got the voice and the balls to go with the voice. Next to Lou this is the only other artist I've ever said this about. Guys like these two men are the rarest of the rarest!
I would be more than happy with a full blown 80s power ballad record from Disturbed or a 90s pop cover Fuck anything these guys touch is gold. They're criminally underrated DWTS since 2000
Wow just wow... I'm the type of person who only listens to music for entertainment purposes. After this song not anymore. I'm battling addiction and the only people I don't want to lose faith is their belief in their dad, is my children .. this song hit me hard. Well done disturbed.... Well done
Glad to see music gained a real listener. Music is therapy and speaks to the soul. Sometimes it saddens me when the majority of people listen to "popular" music just because. Strength and prayers to you battling your demons. We're all in this struggle of life together. 🙏💪

@@ThickToeJam I love Evolution. I respect that they chose to go a different route and that they aren't just recycling writing techniques. David asks "what if I lose my faith in you". I see my reflection and I can't even look myself in the eye, I've already lost faith in myself. It's leaving me to ask myself "what can I do to regain faith in myself?".
The advice I can offer is to keep your head up high, take one day at a time and try to see the positive side of life,we are going through a tumultuous and uncertain time right now as a whole and individually, brighter and better days are still to come and we all need to lean on each other,be caring and compassionate towards one another, talk to anyone who looks like they could use an ear to see if there is anything you can help with,my friend Knight of Anubis,I hope my comment finds you in good health both physically and mentally and that you are finding your faith in yourself again,I came across your comment and even though I don't know you,I have faith in you,you are strong and will be alright, peace be with you and yours.

You help me hold faith in my darkest times My daddy isnt here no more (2019) but all of the albums remind me of him he played disturbed all my life i needed this i will definitely need to do a cover of this one for my self if not no one else but him
I remb. the time back in college when I got their "the sickness" album, I played it almost every day. As years passed (20yrs to be precise), so does this band as they evolved their music. The time when I heard David sang 'the sound of silence' I was astonished to see the other side of this band. I know alot of people out there (perhaps the same age as me, late 30s lol) is loving more the transition of Disturbed 🖤 And this Sting remake song is once again a hit!
The reason Disturbed is my favorite band is because their songs have this extremely powerful energy, capable of taking me from rock bottom back to a fighting stance. Which is why I don't get the appeal of sad songs, especially coming from them. It's the exact opposite of what my broken self needs. I have enough filth tucked away, and I certainly don't need a catalyst to bring it all about. Anyway, I'm glad other people obviously enjoy it. I'll just stick to the older stuff and their heavy new stuff.
Yes love Disturbed! Just when I Feel so lost, God shows me just who He is! I don’t believe in a certain religion! I believe in Jesus Christ! This may not be what someone thought about posting.. but when I think about losing my faith .. I think of Jesus Christ
A good portion of disturbed songs could be categorized as sad songs lol. Down with the sickness, inside the fire, many many more. They just have a much heavier beat. I can appreciate the slow stuff with the heavy
they are a heavy metal band that relies on the music and not the shenanigans onstage. That's major. Sometimes what worked 20 years ago worked for then but not for now, and these guys just give it new life...
I loved every second, especially the bridge. The Sound of Silence is tough to beat, but this is second place. Sting’s lyrics are poignant and relevant today. Hopefully this means a new album.

David Draiman is the most magnificent rock singer to ever walk the face of the planet. I'd throw down on that with anybody...
I needed this, you're not my favorite band for nothing. Every time I needed you, you were there for me, even without knowing me, you were there. I simply love you. WE ARE ALL DISTURBED!
Yes. Without the music of Disturbed, there is a better than even chance I'd be dead now. I cannot overstate how much Disturbed means to me...
I love how even in Disturbed's lightest sounding songs, they bring in a harder section to lift up the tone just the right amount for expression of how deep their passion is about the song.
I was waiting for that classic Draiman vocal on the bridge. Always slams adrenaline into my system when he sings that way.
U listened to System of a Down?! :D
If Disturbed ever gets bad writers block and can't come up with new music
They would be the greatest cover band on the planet...

They're really not though. Their best stuff is Believe to Asylum, then it sadly went steadily downhill. I can't even listen to Evolution, it's just so generic and not Disturbed anymore. But their Sound of Silence is a true masterpiece, no argument there :)
Just when you think it doesn’t have that Disturbed feel BAM it hits you.... needless to say another amazing cover.

I never cared for the original song, but this version really hit me hard. As someone who has struggled with depression for years, Disturbed's take on the message of this song is extremely inspiring. If I ever lose my faith in... myself, then what's left? Thank you, Disturbed! Brilliant!
A sad, sad state of affairs! Why this suffering, WHEN THERE IS GOD! He’s very REAL!

That's Sting's song! Who could imagine this? These guys can turn any song into a great cover!
I swear David Draiman could sing Opera if he wanted to - I'm glad he's singing Rock instead, but he could sing Opera his voice is so good!
You need to check out HIS version of "The Sounds Of Silence" check it out on UTube!! It's AMAZING!!✌💛
He studied Opera so that’s why you can hear that “flavor” in his work. “Sound of Silence” is a good example of his classical and hard rock range.
You are absolutly right. No matter if he is singing gentle or hard he's voice is always amazing. I really love his voice

You rock Debbie! Welcome to the Disturbed fan club!
If you don't like headbanging heavy metal, the more you venture you'll find that's exactly what they are; however they are darn good at it.
You must be living under a rock Grasshopper?

Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world
You could say I lost my faith in the people on TV
You could say I'd lost my belief in our politicians
They all seemed like game show hosts to me
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do
I could be lost inside their lies without a trace
But every time I close my eyes I see your face
I never saw no miracle of science
That didn't go from a blessing to a curse
I never saw no military solution
That didn't always end up as something worse, but
Let me say this first
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do
I totally got goosebumps when the music went from soft to hard and you heard David’s voice get loud.
You help me hold faith in my darkest times
My daddy isnt here no more (2019) but all of the albums remind me of him he played disturbed all my life i needed this i will definitely need to do a cover of this one for my self if not no one else but him

Praying for u ♥️🙏🏻♥️ I bet ur cover will be or is amazing
I feel like dude is talking about Jesus our Lord
I remb. the time back in college when I got their "the sickness" album, I played it almost every day.
Did you graduate high-school in 99 or 00? Your story resembles mine.
Their music has been a savior for me all my life this song leaves chills
@@speed3000gt whoa, correct! Graduated 00 in highschool. So should I call u batchmate 😂
@@chrisstoll4870 that's good to know! Amazing how music can make a difference in our lives
@@MsYTcommentator yup! Class of 2000 here too 👏
The reason Disturbed is my favorite band is because their songs have this extremely powerful energy, capable of taking me from rock bottom back to a fighting stance.
They aren't ready for you to be turned into someone who cannot be preyed upon!
This is a cover of Sting btw
Well said brother
Yes love Disturbed! Just when I Feel so lost, God shows me just who He is! I don’t believe in a certain religion! I believe in Jesus Christ! This may not be what someone thought about posting.. but when I think about losing my faith .. I think of Jesus Christ
A good portion of disturbed songs could be categorized as sad songs lol. Down with the sickness, inside the fire, many many more. They just have a much heavier beat. I can appreciate the slow stuff with the heavy
Its hard to pick a "best vocalist ever" but if I had to choose, Freddie Mercury #1, and David Draiman #2.
(Hmm... Guess it wasn't that hard after all)
They sang "Sound Of Silence;" while My girlfriend's dad was dying. It was his new favorite song.
I've been able to see Disturbed 3 times in concert and 1 of those times got to meet them backstage by winning a VIP pass. Truly a bad ass group!!🤘
We thank you for your love and support we obviously wouldn’t have made it this far without you💛..Send us a mail contactusdisturbed@gmail.com
No other words, I still confirm that Disturbed is a master, intelligent and powerful band ❤️

Disturbed: If I Ever Lose My Faith In You.
Dua Lipa: Don't Start Now.
they are a heavy metal band that relies on the music and not the shenanigans onstage.
Sound of silence by them is my favourote song of all time. Makes my hairs all stand on end! Its so awesome i coild listen to it in repeat all day every day
I much prefer The Sound of Silence.
I actually like their cover of I still havent found what I'm looking for the best. But they also do a fantastic fade to black. I love this band
@@l1m0b0at3, I wasn't nearly as impressed with Fade to Black. It just felt like David wasn't really into it or something. I don't know how to describe it.
I've always loved this song by Sting. Once again Disturbed captures more of the feeling & message, that I've always perceived, it's not so much as me losing faith in others but not to lose faith in myself! Another fantastic cover, huge fan of "Land of Confusion" as well as "Midlife Crisis"
They take the art of others and embrace its true magic in new ways. It's an amazing gift.
Check out his sound of silence cover
Their songs are a message and a feeling
David Draiman is one of my all time favorite male vocalists! He’s got an incredible range and appeal!
I agree. :)
eh, Davo Draiman sure is standout himself, but what about Maynard, mate? James feucking Maynard, pal! :-)
Whenever i'm depressed i listen to this band brings me back to good times and helps me ground myself and they've saved me plenty of times
man gotta love FFDP and Disturbed. These two never cease to amaze with such great yet powerful songs.
Saved my life brother
@@shareenbracken7559both got me through hard times. Ffdp saved my life too
Other band's fans comments, nasty and sniping. Fans of Disturbed the "devil's music" happy and supportive of the band and each other. Gotta love the Disturbed ones!
💓 your comment.
i.am.disturbed. peace in 2021,
Everyone.
This cover has been there for me as a key song during some of the lowest points of addiction and recovery. I'm in a much better place, clean off hard drugs, getting started in a promising career in the roofing industry.
I seen DISTURBED on my 50th B-Day..... MAN what a present to myself. Stupify hooked me &I've been a hard core DISTURBELITE for 15 yrs.
When Jesus found me, and I found Him, I finally knew what direction I needed to go. My pain and sorrow has dissipated.
I don't have covid, but I'm ready to get down with the sickness!
LMAO. Just got better from covid. No1s down for that sickness but LOVE the comment
Rebecca R what was having COVID like I bet it was hell?
@@justwarren65
Mine was very different from what they "warn". I was just drained had no energy and had trouble breathing. I ended up going to the ER and told them I wasn't feeling like I was able to take deep breaths. I had no fever at all no cough no throwing up nothing that I thought was covid but the Dr said he was going to swab me just in case and I'll get the results from the state in a few days. 3 days later I got a call and text saying I was positive and I honestly didn't think I had it but biggest thing for me was having zero energy and breathing was hard and my chest felt heavy. After a week of staying locked up I felt a lil better and I thought oh maybe I'm getting better nope lost my taste and smell ended up in ICU for a few days and back into the room locked up. I got retested 2x and came back positive now I'm on my 3rd retest so it better be negative cuz I'm losing it more so looking at the same walls. But everyone's different my signs/symptoms are nothing what the CDC warned. So who knows what to believe?!?
The drop from a smooth melody to heavy sends chills all through me.
That’s the part that gave me goosebumps! I was like.... wow!
Die hard Sting fan, love Disturbed, as far a remakes goes this is a decent remake. Keep the faith .
Jesus Christ is the answer. Religion isn't Christianity. Follow in Christ not in man.
2020, my mum passed away, unemployed due to the COVID, friends got sick too, our world became divided, rapid environmental changes, wildfires scorched our planet, gave up my religion since birth. This the song for 2020! As a huge fan of Sting since 1980, I approve of this song, great job guys. Love ya Disturbed, Aloha!
IM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS MY FELLOW HUMAN...
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE AS WELL😔
I was looking forward to an upbeat song throughout like the original, with fun and uplifting singing from Draiman, but actually they've recreated a whole new song and it's really powerful
You aren't here if you don't already appreciate Disturbed but I for one really enjoy their softer music as much as the harder songs. I enjoy his voice and inflection.
Perfect song to play during these times…. When life makes you start to lose your faith in whatever that is, turn off the News, Stop Listening to the Haters. Get up and out; let nature take you away for awhile. You and I are not alone, even when we feel like it is… ✌🏻
