I'm so glad to see you again to react my favorite ABBA song "S.O.S." (1975) has a story It was one of Their first recordings after the greatest success of "Waterloo" in Eurovisión, just four months later, in August 1974 But it waited almost a year for its release, in June 1975 at Sweden, September 1975 at UK and US when " "S.O.S." have your chance to be a single, it picks at #6 in U.K. and #15 in U.S. being Their second hit in both countries at the same time, and six #1 and more Top 10 in several countries of all continents and after these, ABBA had 18 Top 10 consecutives in UK between 1975/1982, for example: Mamma Mía, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take a chance con me, Chiquitita, The winner takes it all, Super trouper etc These is a live perfomance at UK 1975 , when ABBA was expecting for their new success that follow "Waterloo" and just a few weeks later "S.O.S." exploded in worldwide charts and ABBA will be tge biggest act in the 70s decade (except U.S. and other countries) ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, left an unforgettable mark on several generations It is good music that lasts and stays alive and well And after almost 40 years ABBA comes back with a new album "Voyage" that is a worldwide success Now in 2021/22 My best regards to You from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South América
Frida was more of the spunky, twinkly eyed one who danced and had fun while Agnetha was more the stare in to your eyes (and soul) pleadingly, slightly sad and tortured type. Both absolutely lovely...but it is nice to meet another Frida fan. Way too few of them in the world! Can you do Why Did it Have to Be Me live in Australia? That's a great one! I also recommend the entire Dick Cavette meets ABBA concert. It was a TV special. I think they performed eight songs or so. Some classics and some not so classics. You'll even get to hear Björn sing!
Those were their legs with see through stockings. The 60-s and 70's were the times of free love and good times. No prudes around then, plus they were Swedish and didn't conform to puritan standards of some other countries. Frida was the fun one and felt totally at home on stage.
Worth mentioning that the late Sixties and early/mid Seventies were the era of the mini-skirt. And boy! they were short. Bend over and your panties would be showing. Even little schoolgirls wore them.
I LOVE watching your ABBA reactions...I am in LOVE with Agnetha, like you are with Frida!!! Been in Love with her for decades!! Great reaction man!! Thanks!
Same clothes but even more sexy to watch: "So Long" (the "Made in Sweden" version). It's not live but I think you will scream SOS!!!! after watching Frida there. 😁
Amazing reaction..you should be react to "Voulez-Vous"...specially the show on spain 1979...very catchy song and sexy performance of this beauty girls on purple and pink suits
One of my favourite songs is: Lay all your love on me. I know that song is going to blow your mind. So fun to watch you chare the ABBAlove :) Hugs from sweden
The shortened names in their dresses was a marketing strategy to penetrate the american and european markets. Their real names is Anni-Frid and Agnetha.
I have a couple of suggestions that I think yo will love as they are both "Fridalicious" but you must checkout the specific videos for the best reactions. "ABBA - Summer Night City - VIDEO HQ - AUDIO REMASTERED" This was a TV performance in Japan. The official video is great but Frida is amazing in this. And if you like Reggae beat and want a chill song search, "ABBA - Tropical Loveland (Australia 1976)" which has Frida on lead. You can always do these songs anytime but these are the best videos to react to for these songs I reckon.
Try "The Tiger" live in Australia from the ABBA movie. Love ABBA, so many good songs. Just thought I would give you a lesser known great one. Great performance, great song. S.O.S. is also one of my personal favorites. Thanks so much. Your fun. Much love from California.
Do you know Frida's song "I Know There's Something going On" which was produced by Phil Collins and you can hear that. It's his sound. It as a great hit in the charts.
Wow! I stumbled onto this channel…. Are ABBA a thing again? I love it! Look at you young guy jammin’ to ‘em! Although, as an oldie, I gotta laugh at the things we used to wear….. 😆🥰 Keep up the fun vids- you’re very cute!
yea im guessing they back lol.... yea true but i loved the style lol waittttttttttttttttt cute like a dog or cute like a baby? lol orrrrrrrrrrrr cute like something else lol
Thank you my man, that was fun. While you are doing live you could try "Voulez vous" which was live in concert. Or for a Frida performance "Why did it have to be me" live (No Agnetha 😪 she was doing a costume change for the next number) Thanks for the uploads and fun reactions.
Hi again, Brooklyn boy! Good and very fun reaction as usual 👌 go easy, men... you still have a lot to discover about ABBA👑 and of course Frida❤️😏 See ya, Love ❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱👍 See you soon
I remember the night 70's being 8 years old and one summer day the girls in my neighborhood put ABBA on their record player in their bedroom window and doing cart wheels in the backyard to ABBA music. Also of course roller skating at happy wheels to S.O.S. 😊
It didn't actually mean anything, it was just a distinctive morse code. three short beeps, three long beeps, three short beeps. But save our ship/souls worked great
The thing is, this isn't actually live, they're miming to playback. You need to delve into their actual concerts - you've had several suggestions now for "Why did it have to be me" where Frida truly puts in a rock chick performance. Oh that voice! That outfit! 😋
This is NOT miming to the studiotrack. The singing is live in this one. Cant say with certainty that all of the instruments is 100% live. We don´t see the drummer, bassplayer and so on but my guess is that also those parts are live. I think that this is a tv-show with it´s own live band, but I can be wrong on that one. But I agree with You about seeking out their live concerts. The Wembley recordings is crazy good stuff.
@@jo1918 Thanks. I've gone to the actual video and listened through headphones, rather than on laptop speaker. Yes, they are live and the girls' vocals are flawless. I don't know why there are so many instances where they are obviously miming to playback (TV studio logistics being the main problem?) when they proved they could indeed cut it live.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but all of the vocals are live. There maybe a backing track for a couple of instruments, but Benny's piano and Bjorn's guitar are playing. As a music lover for 60 years I can always tell the difference between live and lip synced performances.
Well, actually you can get replicas of those iconic dresses. I think they're a bit pricey! Would they fit? Seaside Special - which is where this clip is from - was a BBC programme sometime in the mid-70s. Recalling that it was on a Saturday evening, predictably in the Summer.
2:00 Does S.O.S. mean help? DUDE! Are you serious???? I don't think i've ever met someone who didn't know that.. S.O.S. come from way back in the early 1900's and is the same thing as "mayday". S.O.S. in popular usage became associated with mnemonic phrases such as "Save Our Souls" and "Save Our Ship. Have you never seen Robinson Crusoe or any other "stranded on a deserted island" type of movie where the main character write a huge SOS on the beach with rock and debris hoping to be seen from rescue planes?
Mayday is international code, its actually french for m'aide = help me and English language adopted it, and SOS is also still legit code for Save Our Souls. Not just for tv shows or movies. There are variations of codes out now for different areas, like PAN PAN PAN for flight problems.
S.O.S. was a morse code, in the days when transmissions were done wireless in morse code but speaking sound was not possible yet. Three shorts, three long, three short sounds send by the ships marconist when they needed help. And it stands for Save Our Souls.
You, unfortunately, cannot buy that dress of Frida, instead you can go and see it for real, but you'll have to travel quite a few miles then though.. It's on display in the ABBA-Museum in Stockholm, together with most of their other memorable outfits they wore throughout their career! So.. what are you waiting for.. Go! Go! Get yourself on a plane and try to get as close to it as you possilby can! And when you're there, take a trip to London, to the ABBA-Arena where you actually have a chance of meeting Frida in person, as she reglarly visits the arena to watch the concert and mingle with the fans! Enjoy! 😜👍👍
If you like this, then you'll definitely like this: Frida being wild and dancing in a hat with her back to the audience: ruclips.net/video/S6_c9R6sn9Q/видео.html
Speak only for yourself and not for all ABBA fans. Have you ever heard of different tastes? If you can't take it that there are people who prefer Frida you should go to the reactors who prefer Agnetha. There are enough of them out there.
Frida was more classically beautiful and was vocally more competent, she had a wider range and was pitch perfect. Agnetha preferred the "safety" of the studio where they could correct minor imperfections, I read she had a tendency to wander off key now and again!
I'm always surprised by surprised people by Abba (I'm 57). And I love that Abba mania is everlasting.
I'm so glad to see you again to react my favorite ABBA song

So good live. No auto tune here.
Frida looks hottest in ABBA the Movie. On tour in Australia. She looks incredible. I'm sure you'd love her.
You may like Frida's outfit in the live version of Why Did It have To Be Me form the Australian Tour.
