I was raised on Franklin st. We could walk to Westside market its been a long time that I have visit. Went to Hicks school which was behind the market
I love going to the westside martket from canton and my family and I try to go as much a possible Franks is my favorite but I try anything. And down the street is the Hansa house you can find my things there we go to get the German bread and lunch meat its awsome and the people are very friendly!
Have lived in NH since 1999…..spent my 1st 42 years in Cleveland….I miss home….the streets I grew up on…the people….the food….and truly miss the West Side Market….miss Cleveland.

It's been so long since I was back to my hometown. The West Side market is one of the special gems there. When I was small, I would end up sitting on the tile floor waiting for my parents to decide on their purchases. As a young adult, trips to the market were a special treat with all the sights and smells and almost endless varieties of food that were being sold. Now, being far away, I describe the wonderful experience the market offers to my friends and they are fascinated. The huge size of the building alone is eye popping and with all the stalls offerings I knew I would usually find what I wanted!

West side market, on crowded days, pick-pockets are there so keep a close watch on your purse. Do NOT let the fruit and veggie people fill your bag from behind their counter. I bought 4 pints of strawberries and when i got home found 4 pints of fuzzy, moldy strawberries. So pick your fruit and veggies from what is on display, not what they fill your bag with from behind their counter. Be aware, there are no "sell by" dates on meats and stuff, so make sure what you pick out is what they wrap up for you. COUNT YOUR CHANGE!!!
