I have these skis, and used them last week at Killington and Okemo. They are phenomenal. I like them alot. I hope they last many years.

Best all mountain ski in the 84 width right now. Very easy to turn and grip very well. Fall only short to a real sl ski on hard pack. 75-80% of a sl ski but much better if snow is soft when sl ski tend to dig to deep this one float and turn better. Very good in chopped snow. A no mistake buy. Try to get them on sale if you can.

Living out west - these are amazingly versatile. They can do everything if you are a good enough skier.

Great comments. I have been an RTM fan since their reverse camber days of, say 2009, or so. I wish you would have comments on the Deacon in chopped up, afternoon snow and commented on sizing. Thanks for your work and have a great day.

Great review. I’m a massive Volkl fan - just replaced my Cross Tigers with these skis.

Can you do a shoot out or compare the Deacon to the Stockli laser AR please. Seems like these two are in direct competition with each other. And how different would this Deacon 84 be to a 2014 RTM 84 that I have now.

I had an original Code Speedwall with the green Matrix style graphics. I'm basically an off piste guy, bumps trees and chutes are my preference.
Every time I clicked into the Codes I swore they're my favorite skis. They were just barely versatile enough in the mank but boy howdy would they perform.
They're done after over a hundred days and I'm interested in the Deacons. But your review may have me reconsider, these look a bit too front sidey to me.

for these skis guys- to adjust bindings- do I start with the tow piece to position around the boot length marker? In that case the rear binding piece does not read the same length

some system bindings have separate adjustments at toe and heel while some adjust at the center with one screw that moves toe and heel at the same time. it is essential to check the forward pressure indicator at the heel piece to check that it is within the proper range for forward pressure.

With that integrated binding system, can you mount 1-2 forward?

Can you please tell me which of these 2 pairs of ski should I choose?
Elan wingman 86 CTI vs Volkl Deacon 84 lowride.
My level is somewhere between advance and expert.
    Thank you very much
