That's the strange thing about dreamcatcher, it took them 6 years to get a win as dreamcatcher in Korea but they did their first world tour the year of their debut, they are the first kpop act to be invited to primavera sound, they were the first kpop act to do a Europe tour and they are one of the strongest running 3rd gen groups in the middle of 4th gen groups since they are still just reaching their peaks. Last year they were also at the top of the billboard next best sound till they got dethroned, by their own song. I actually love how they brought back the first gen and pre-first gen sound but made it heavier. Their CEO actually said outright that if he couldn't get these talented girls to be appreciated in the industry he should probably give up the business entirely and he's an absolute sweetheart. He shows up in JiU and SuA's vlives occasionally and treats them like his own daughters. Also the company staff and the girls absolutely adore each other and were sobbing in the behind the scenes vlog of their first win as well. And the company has actively taken steps to protect the girls against saesangs and rumors. I think pretty much every old InSomnia including me was sobbing the entire time. It got worse (better) when we saw the bts vlog and saw the 7 of them completely fail at blowing out some candles because they'd been crying so much. Siyeon mentioned that she was extremely depressed once Minx ended, this girl had been belting out whistle notes at debut and she thought her career was over and stopped listening to music entirely. I can only imagine how JiU felt since she felt responsible for them as a group. Also InSomnia means "together in dreams" fans use somnies for short and the girls are called Dreamies by many fans. And in case you are interested they will be performing today in Barcelona and primavera might stream it at 8pm CEST if you wanna check them out. Here's the link just in case: www.primaverasound.com/en/streaming-coming-soon Welcome to the fandom, you'll definitely fall in love with these girls even more when you get to know them, they are adorable and adore with each other and their fans.
The fact that Company said "its not their fault" they also dont pressure the girls, its a very chill company i would say also in kpop industry a win = recognition..Also saddest thing Jiu once said to insomnia that "we dont want you( insomnia) to feel embarrased to be our fan" since they were not popular also never got a win back then...
Crazy thing before first win they already get famous billboard to apple Music right now they are performing in Spain Primavera sound first kpop group in history.
This was the first time they were able to sing encore and they didnt waste a single line, even while crying their hearts out. I’m so proud of them, these talents should have more chance to sing live/encore as they deserve.
Dreamcatcher Company is treating the girls pretty well. If you dive deeper into Dreamcatcher you can tell that the girls and the company staff including the CEO love each other very much. Dreamcatcher is the only group for the company that is generating profits even without the first win. Unless the company suddenly come out with a new girlgroup thats able to be way more successful and profitable, i dont think the girls and the company will part ways with one another even when their contract is up in Jan 2024
If ever you're on your way to know each of the members' personalities, here's a bit of fun hints/spoilers: JiU - Ball of sunshine SuA - Human form of ENERGY Siyeon - **Siyeon.exe stopped working** Handong - Ice princess Yoohyeon - Biggest puppy Dami - B A D A S S Gahyeon - Boss baby
Usually if a group can't win 1st place in 3-4 years the company disbands them. There are rare situations like Dreamcatcher's and Pentagon's that they won after really long time. After their win they admitted that they were at risk of disbandment and they prepared every album like it was their last.
Never heard about risk of disbandment. Where did you saw it? Basically they're only one profitable and somehow successful group in their company + company failed to debut new girl group so my guess it's DC are not at risk in their company at all.
I merely saw a thumbnail saying 'DreamCatcher First Win'. Without even seeing the video, JUST the stupid thumbnail, I INSTANTLY teared up. I am SO proud of each and every one these ladies!!! Hardest, most dedicated workers in the industry, no joke. COOL! Can't wait for your reaction to the Nightmare Arc! :)
I literally teared up for their win. Then after this win, they got another win from The Show. So, this song has 2 wins!! Looking forward for more Dreamcatcher reactions! Oh, and welcome to Dreamworld as an InSomnia!!
Dude, you’re gonna make Somnias here crying all over again with that 1st win reaction. Whole kpop community blow up that day, not just InSomnia. Everyone is really rooting for them to get their 1st win 🥲 Somnia is a Latin word for dream, so they spelled InSomnia that way as to mean together in our dream. So Insomniac is never the intended use. But I guess that applies to us as well cause we don’t sleep on them 🤟🏻
interestingly, they use lot of metal influence in this song. if they use pure instrument(not its live vers) this song actually will be the most 'metal' song out of all their song. yes maybe even more than Japanese track. one of the reason I look forward to concert. honestly back then before dc first win. they're those idol who have better sale than lot of idols who have win. their sale always going up. so they will eventually get a win sooner or later. even if korean music show win are kinda hard to get if ur more popular internationally than at korea
Today (June 4th) they will perform at the Primavera Sound festival in Spain which is huge because they are the first kpop group to be invited to the biggest European festival ever. They will perform at 8pm Spain time
@@kamreacts4009 ruclips.net/video/kofrPTf7EH4/видео.html here is a video of boca but they preformed a lot of Bsides so if you want you can check out that channel cuz they have all the performances :)
@@kamreacts4009 unfortunately no VOD for festival such as this, but there some fancams uploaded already here in YT. But you’ll get spoilers of course cause they performed lots of songs you haven’t check out yet. If you don’t mind, here’s one channel that has the fancams ruclips.net/video/a6aXq0t3qW0/видео.html
Don't think that you're disrespecting the fandom. We wholeheartedly glad that you are an InSomnia (I believe you are) and we can really feel you being proud of the group with their win. I still feel chills every time I see this video. ^_^!~
@@kamreacts4009 DC won twice with this song, which was really good for them since many people claimed their first win was a fluke (since they went over 1,900 days, five years, without one. And yeah, please don't feel like you're somehow not InSomnia "enough." If you like their music and want to support them, we all know DC would be happy to call you a Somnia, so we are, too. I really do recommend the "Dodging Disbandment" video essay that was recommended to you before. It's outdated now--only up through Deja Vu era--but it's still a really, really good examination of what DC went through and is still going through (though there is a controversy addressed in that video that has been debunked _since_ the video was made, so do be aware of that!). Dreamcatcher Company is a sublabel of Happyface Entertainment, and essentially the CEO of Happyface has said in interviews that until the day that the company runs out of money (which doesn't seem to be anywhere in the near future; they're doing well), he will continue to support Dreamcatcher.
I know it's a big ask with how fast you tackle content, but their B-sides cover pretty much any genre you could ask for. Ballads, Jazz, EDM, dubstep, J-rock, you name it, they've got it somewhere in there. Their earlier stuff is also a lot more overtly rock-based (Chase Me, their debut and Good Night, their first comeback, all the way thru Piri)
This boggles my mind but I am glad you like long videos! :) I tend to get carried away as I keep exploring and learning. So much to learn about them and the other groups I have been watching on this channel!
4/20/22 is the legendary day where not only somnias who already flooded their houses with tears but even fans from other fandoms, all kpop industry cried together. Dreamcatcher was known in the kpop industry to be the most deserving of first win so many fandoms came together to congratulate dreamcatcher and us somnias for the hardwork! And Dreamcatcher now hold the record for the longest time to get a win since debut of 1924 days (excluding minx days, with minx its like over 2800 days) lol. Thanks for the reactions!! will be waiting on the guide reaction🙌
22:48 oh, then you are probably gonna like Dami's solo from this "Maison" album called 'Beauty Full' , they all got a solo song for this album, you can check them out as well, not a single song is less than a 9/10 and there is 12 full songs (14 if intro and an interlude counts), would love to see a reaction to a full album listening. Keep up the good work!
"SuA moves faster than I can talk" You should see how fast she can talk when she really gets going! There's a Weekly Idol episode where they do a tongue twister and it's crazy how fast she is... without missing a syllable. One of the MCs tries to beat her and yeah... no. :D ruclips.net/video/pqsbyk4g5Xc/видео.html You should check out the Dreamcatcher Note where they show the bts from their first win: ruclips.net/video/93FSJDOV-PM/видео.html
JiU is one of the best leaders, for keeping them united and positive for all these years. Everyone (including myself) shed a tear with their first win. Epic.
Their long overdue first win totally inspired other group from small & medium company to never lose hope & never give up to try something new & unconventional in K-pop industry...
Their second win was just as emotional, but they were better prepared for it. Still makes me tear up. Dreamcatcher's b-sides are awesome. The company allows them a lot of freedoms. Several of them have tattoos. They have written songs of their own. And they company has allowed the girls to film self made MVs. (mostly shot between actual events & promoting) Also....The girls have decided to make a episode of "World of the Married". They did an almost shot for shot of the show. They did the background noises & music. Someone has made a shot for shot comparison.

1. Dreamcatcher are well respected and known in industry. They have a lot of friends in kpop such as: WJSN, G-IDLE, KARD, A.C.E, ITZY, Weki Meki, Twice, Loona, Oh My Girl, CLC, Kwon Eunbi(I believe she is ez-IZ*ONE member), Lovelyz, Weekly, Cherry Bullet, KHAN, Alexa, Red Velvet. But most important thing, probably, that younger groups sometimes mention them as influencers or idols-to-collab-with. Pixy and Pink Fantasy definitely have some influence from Dreamcatcher. One of ex-Hot Issue(unfortunately disbanded recently) members probably bigger DC fan than me. I think she have something like "song of the day" in her twitter and almost every time it's was Dreamcatcher song :D + once in group interview she talks more about DC than about herself and own group :D Stray Kids Bang Chan said that he also fan of Dreamcatcher and like to search for their performances and watch them online. So while DC is not really popular in Korea among regular kpop fans, they already have, should I say, "their name" as one of the great groups in kpop right now. To be fair their first win was received exactly because of this name and respect from other groups because lot of other fandoms were involved into process to receive this trophy this time. 2. About their company. Well, ofc there is a lot of pressure from company on idols because they need to make a profit for company to be alive. But I think their company was completely to anything. I mean they named their whole company "Dreamcather Company" just to support the group so it's like completely all-in even tho at that time when company was renamed DC had like 30% of current success, so I think right now their company completely happy with what they have/ 3. Whole process of Disbandment and Redebut is definitely a hell for girls, but also it's and indicator that their label/company believe in their skills and talent. Jiu and Siyeon had super hard time during disbandement because for Siyeon it's was super huge dream and she lost it, for Jiu it's was like her personal fault because she was a leader on Minx too. I think I had more to say but maybe next time
2:46 your 'excuse me' here is similar to DC's own reaction. There's a video of them reacting to their own MV** and they joked how this part looked like a "fabric softener commercial" 😆 ** search: dreamcatcher official maison mv reaction
Insomnias : ) I only discovered DREAMCATCHER in January 2022 so was still very busy consuming content when my first comeback with them (MAISON) came around. Had listened to kpop for years casually but had never had the inclination to adopt any fandom name or learn about voting/music shows. DC been dominating my playlists since. Feel very spoiled as an Insomnia coming in just before they got their wins. By the way. There are videos of their reaction to the news of their first and second win (along with other music show behind/vlog type videos) on their channel. Very satisfying to see them win. Also just a very entertaining group on and off stage. The energy you recognized in SuA while dancing is not relegated to a set pattern of movements or vocalizations off stage = Chaos.
As for JiU, the members always say she's the only one of them who could do what she does, while she herself is always adamant that being Dreamcatcher's leader is really easy because everyone cares and takes responsibility. I think that's a really beautiful relationship. It is pretty funny though - whenever JiU leaves the room during their livestreams and events, chaos immediately ensues. 😂
That's why Dreamcatcher paved rock in kpop. When no group even dare to touch rock in their song let alone make it as their identity which make them a black sheep, underappreciated now, unconventional girl group PLUS DARK HORROR CONCEPT i am very proud of their achievements and angry when industry "expert" and ignorant fans says their faved paved rock or make it influence in Korea while literally your faves would not even touch rock genre if Dreamcatcher didnt do it and found out international fans love rock metal and therefore "safe" to try. And the other difference is that other group who did it are from an influential companies so easy exposure and marketing compare to Dreamcatcher still small but if the industry ignored you what u gonna do? > become big in international market! We maybe not have a huge leap of fame like BTS (as example only) but we slowly getting more fans and getting the recognition. So let's go aim for tv shows in Korea and end of year award performances and trophy!
Even without the win, Dreamcatcher has been a pretty successful group for a while now. They've been selling 100k+ copies per album since Scream (130k since Odd Eye) and because of a leak from MyMusicTaste, we know that their online concerts during the pandemic have done well, too. Having a win definitely does matter though, because it gets people talking. DC's RUclips channel has had 100k new subs over the last two months alone. And as someone who saw them live in Germany last month, I can say that although they've always been fantastic stage performers, they seemed especially confident and energetic and I like to think it's partly because of the success of the Maison era. 😁
I think Dreamcatcher's company has already set sight on oversea and a somewhat niche market when they redebut, so music show wins aren't the biggest of deals, but definitely an award that Dreamcatcher would like to have. Because even without the awards they have been growing consistently outside and somewhat inside Korea as of late.
There is a few ways to dissect what such a win meant. With the record of having the longest time difference between debut and getting first win, you can say that such a win is much sweeter given what they went through, akin to delay gratification. On the other hand, there are many groups with "wins" that are envious of Dreamcatcher's position, that is, even without a first win, they are able to get commercial success to continue as a group cause there are many many groups with "wins" that fall to the wayside and despite their "wins" cannot translate it to commercial success and eventual disband.
The Encore Stage is so heartwarming 🥰 tbh i had real struggle because there was Dreamcatcher and DKZ (former Dongkiz, maybe you've heard Lupin) and i wished both this win. You have this Encores like SVT wich are impressive because they still hit everything, and then you have this amazing Encores that are just so honest and you instantly wanna stan this Group because they are so adorable 😅 I remember Oneus first win with Luna 😆 this was shaky too but so full of Emotions.o
Amazing reaction as always! Also we like that the video was 44 mins long and I think we all agree that we don’t mind it being longer 💀 To know more about the groups history I would recommend watching the Dodging Disbandment video (it’s long but insanely well made) ruclips.net/video/YIgCAp3i1os/видео.html Normally companies give up on group pretty quickly. If they don’t get a first win in about 3-4 year then it’s basically over for them but Dreamcatcher company (was happyface entertainment) never gave up on them. As far as I know they have always been good to the girls and the girls have a really good relationship with the staff and ceo of the company. The company from the start always provided the group with anything they could and still are doing so( people can correct me on this but haven’t heard anything bad about the company) Edit: something else you mentioned was the genre and that it’s a genre not so popular in Korea and your right it isn’t and both the girls and the company knew but decided to do it anyways cuz the girls liked the idea which also says something about the company. I see it as the company not prioritizing money but the girls more. Dreamcatcher now holds the record for the longest time to get a first win since debut of 1924 days (excluding minx days) A lot of fandoms helped insomnias out this time and so many congratulated us and dreamcatcher. The members said that they didn’t expect anything this comeback cuz they kept being disappointed and didn’t wanna put pressure on insomnias but we did it! Show Champion also gave them more screen time for this special moment and the staff were crying behind as well
There are also Brave Girls. I think they're debuted somewhere in early 2010th and got their first win in 2021. But I think they completely changed members at some point so people doesn't count days before members change. Also important note: DC hold the record for the longest time to get first win between girl groups. I think in boy groups world record belong to Nuest and it's longer than DC
Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home" (seems like I don't have to tell you that, hehe), and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!
In my rush to stop talking at the 40 minute mark, I totally forgot to touch base on the song's meaning. I definitely caught on to the lyrics talking about let's protect our home and was thinking climate change. You don't hear many artists talk about climate change in their music!
whenever u say 'hey dami' :D thank u for reacting to dreamcatcher's maison. so many thoughts but wouldn't want to flood the comments so smth kinda? concise here - this new trilogy is abt environmental awareness. dunno if the comments have said that before but yah i mean the lyrics are quite straightforward "save my home in the jungle" etc, and "please someone fight for us" the first win was so many intense emotions. obviously happiness and relief were the main things, being a fan since 2017 fly high era like what else should i feel lol, but personally there was some frustration cos...well, u might come to know when u watch guides as u mentioned? hahah... (the go to guides are definitely dodging disbandment one for info and ANYTHING by insomnicsy literally a guaranteed burst of laughter from anything by them. unlimited hilarious dreamcatcher content honestly) but still so happy that they won like it's about time they did literally streamed that song *all day all night* to help w/their win and never got tired of it. 10/10 was deserved also so true w/dami holding it together lol. she says she's the one who doesn't cry cos she's there to comfort the members you're very right about how questionable it is how the korean public doesn't really "like" dreamcatcher's sound. maybe it's cos it's not expected of girl groups at all. when it comes to popular af boy groups like txt and seventeen everyone loves their stuff to bits but with dc everyone goes *cricket noises*.... but to be fair dreamcatcher's sound started very very intense/dark, still is. it's so fortunate they were able to tap into this niche market helping them garner this loyal fanbase and cos their fanbase grew they really had visible? longevity even without that first win, like being the first kpop act to be invited to primavera sound (one of the best/biggest music festivals in europe) Prior to their win/s, getting their own variety show "dreamcatcher mind" uploaded on their youtube channel, and the growing demand for world tours ever since their first year, and even then it was very likely they would get a first win eventually. when u mention like those early rock vibes idk their song "break the wall" kinda comes to mind for me? i've seen ppl say it sounds like that? and they have self-made music videos for that, sahara, poison love, july 7th, and curse of the spider, and theyre just lmfaoooo u might want to watch them all in 1 reaction vid if you'll do any honestly so excited for more deukae reactions from u tried to be concise but made an entire damn essay sorry for the length :")
They also had messed up makeup in the music video, if you look very closely. That was on purpose. They were 'fighting' other people in the choreography; in the storyline, they were fighting for Earth's survival. It's symbolic. So they did the same with the Live. Yes, JiU is the Leader and I do imagine how much responsibility she feels (even if it really is not her fault, I imagine her taking that weight on herself anyway) for having taken so long to get the win. They won two different shows with this one.
Nice great commentary! No problem dude its okay even if long, much better i enjoyed it, i like chill reactors dude because they have more thoughts at the end, by the way you will like their older work because the nightmare series are more on a young metal vibes, cheerful rock and full of melodies because you mentioned, you like poppier rock sounding like yeah this is right up your alley, yeah chase me next hoho
Omg yes!! I've started in 2nd gen but I really liked 1st gen too! My favorite song from h.o.t is iyah and recently i've been jamming to 신비! But as for 1st gen groups, my most fave group is g.o.d! 💖
Iyah was an epic song. I remember my sisters and I were in the car after having bought the album (I think this was on their 4th and final album?). We inserted the CD, and we played Iyah and it was magical. :)
They deserved it. I means, they should win since debut for me. Its sad people still sleeping on this cuz songs all bangers from tittle tracks to B-sides. Discovering Dreamcatcher is one of the best thing i ever done in my life. The feel? I having my dinner while watching Show Champion and literally tearing up while eating my rice lol. Looking forward for your upcoming Dreamcatcher reaction. Thanks for the reaction. Welcome to the dreamworld.
I’m not sure if anyone mentioned it and you may now be aware given you reacted to this awhile ago but apparently even the producers on Show Champion were crying for the members when Dreamcatcher won. And they gave them the encore for the entire song which is rare. This was such a special and long deserved moment. They are really respected amongst by other idols and have a good reputation for being respectful and kind to those they work with behind the scenes. Dreamcatcher best girls 😊
As others have mentioned you should look into their b-sides! I genuinely think each album has a song for everyone. I’m also a fan of 90’s/ early 2000’s rock and some of their songs really channel that energy. Break the Wall is very Linkin Park-esque for example :)
dreamcatcher \:D/ it's been a long hard road and finally some redemption :) how many groups survive disbandment and how many small companies double up on a failed group and do songs/concepts not popular in their industry? their ceo is a legend for rolling the dice and jiu kept everyone together just long enough to get here \:D/
the first win is incredibly important and we fought hard for years to get it, and im so glad the girls finally got to experience it but dc was actually pretty successful without the first win. with kpop being more global, groups dont have to rely on the korean general public to like them to survive. plus, dc’s company did say they were focusing on dc to be a touring group (which is very typical rock groups). sadly pandemic fucked that plan for them, but they still had garnered so many fans by that time and grew even bigger during pandemic with the success of the dystopia trilogy so even if they hadnt got the win with maison, i really doubt their company would disband them. esp since dc is the breadwinner in the company, for a gg they actually have really good album sales and their fandom is incredibly dedicated that being said, having been here since their debut as dc and being there through every music show nominations, faced disappointment after disappointment as we kept only getting second place, this first win was incredibly emotional for everyone. ive been a kpop fan since 2007-2008 yet i dont think ive ever cried as hard due to kpop as when dc got their first win. i was a mess for hours lol
For hours!? That's amazing. It seems like a lot of people were emotionally wrecked (in a good way) by Dreamcatcher's first win! I certainly felt emotions seeing them win and I've only found out about them in the last couple of weeks! Just imagine long-time fans.
the CEO said its not the girls fault that minx failed. so when dreamcatcher made. he said if they failed he will close the company an support the girls by selling cucumber lol
it's super rare CEO's like this. I remember Pentagon's first win and after that they made a vlive, crying while saying every album they were at risk. The company give them multiple chances and they were always discussing disbanding the team. They said that that was their last chance. I like their music and Hui is one of the best producers in the industry. They deserve better. Watching them cry while talking about their trainee days how big their dream was and talking about their future, was so hard.
@@aliciapark6241 the heck- pentagon are from cubes right? pentagon can be way more popular if cube did that their job right tbh. they have lot of talented artist but they always waste it
@@mushroomexpress3049 I agree. I didn't know their situation was that bad until they talk about it on vlive crying and talking about their years as pentagon and how hard was it to get here.
@@aliciapark6241 Cube is a terrible company. The only reason (G)I-DLE are doing well is Soyeon. She is literally doing their job for them. Look how they treated 4Minute and CLC. So it's no surprise Pentagon felt that way.
When the company rebrands/renames themselves as dreamcatcher company kinda says a lot about how much trust they have on the girls. They literally went all-in on them...
Nice Insights! Behold, you're on the way to witness the kpop world's "meme idols." Probably the craziest idols around there. Can't wait to see you react to their reality show called "Dreamcatcher Mind". It's fun, nuts, bonkers, emotional, creative and epic! Episode 2 and 8 are legendary. lmao
For next dreamcatcher reactions I recommend ''SHADOW'' it's an OST for a kdrama and there are 2 versions of it, one of them called slow version and they're so different so you might want to react to both. Dami sings in these songs and you'll surprise how good her vocals is. She even sings higher notes than siyeon's part.
Seconded. Especially recommend the lyric videos by 7Dreamers because its really hard to tell apart Dami's belt nestled between Siyeon's high notes at first listen. .
Dreamcatcher accidentally 'revived' the original sound of K-Pop like it were back then in the early 90's...the earliest form of K-Pop have that Pop & Hip-Hop sound fused with Rock & Metal genre...while Dreamcatcher, their sound more like a fusion of EDM, Pop & Rock/ Metal...
36:08 I do think the generation at the time like those sound but since circa 2011-2012 edm pop have bigger influence on the majority of people and while lots of those y2k generation are now in college, working etc.. they don't have much time to invest in popular media while the younger generations are now influence by these edm pop that the general consumers I think don't necessarily understand rock/heavy instrumental sounds
Yes, I think you're onto something. I think it is a different generation that consumes Kpop in Korea. For those unaware, Korea was very much into rock and sometimes metal in mainstream. I think rock is definitely not mainstream nowadays.
Don't know if you figured it out later in the video, but their makeup has purposeful damage to their faces as if they've been in a fight. Some like Yoohyeon's is more noticeable than others.
I know you have reacted to Ateez. Their producer is Edenary and two of the producers who are part of Edenary also produce for Dreamcatcher. Eden mostly just works with Ateez. The sounds aren’t the same but the production quality is excellent and unique for both.
does DCC have a new dance practice room, or where was that dance practice filmed? or i my memory playing a trick on me,.. because that doesnt look like the dc practice room...
I think the more pop-ish sounding song thay came out with is Fly High. The girls even said that they didn't like Fly High as much as they did the other tracks because it was in the line between rock and pop. And still being fresh off of their trauma from Minx, they didn't gravitate towards it as much.
yes please, its time for you to react to Dodging disbandment and other extreme sports. then follow up with This Is series by Insomnicsy. then you can react to Minx, and then the DC nightmare series. (just to see how much they extremely changed their concept) you can follow up with their japanese releases (which are more heavier and game collabs, youve already reacted to Deja Vu, so maybe check the other one which is Rose Blue) then definitely watch Dreamcatcher Mind series. Thanks
Here's the link just in case:

Welcome to the fandom, you'll definitely fall in love with these girls even more when you get to know them, they are adorable and adore with each other and their fans.
I never thought of it as their first encore on a music show before; just didn't click. Haha. Yes, they absolutely did!
This is amazing to hear. :)
If ever you're on your way to know each of the members' personalities, here's a bit of fun hints/spoilers:
JiU - Ball of sunshine
SuA - Human form of ENERGY
Siyeon - **Siyeon.exe stopped working**
Handong - Ice princess
Yoohyeon - Biggest puppy
Dami - B A D A S S
Gahyeon - Boss baby
yesss this is the key
I can see these already. Except Siyeon. I'm guessing the guides and non-music content I'll eventually get to will show this more. :)

@@bigparadox9093 that part was about Pentagon. I meant pentagon members by ‘they’.

Everyone is really rooting for them to get their 1st win 🥲
Somnia is a Latin word for dream, so they spelled InSomnia that way as to mean together in our dream.
FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF NOT A WIN THEY FINALLY THEIR FIRST TWO WINS OMG IM SO HAPPY FOR THEM
Today (June 4th) they will perform at the Primavera Sound festival in Spain which is huge because they are the first kpop group to be invited to the biggest European festival ever. They will perform at 8pm Spain time

Don't worry about the length of your videos, the longer the better for us lol
Omg YES Beautiful Full is so nostalgic it feels like I grew up with it
"SuA moves faster than I can talk"
You should see how fast she can talk when she really gets going! There's a Weekly Idol episode where they do a tongue twister and it's crazy how fast she is... without missing a syllable. One of the MCs tries to beat her and yeah... no. :D

Also that bit in Dreamcatcher Mind 08 where SuA machine-guns an argument (from 2:08). It's absolutely unbelievable how fast she can speak.
JiU is one of the best leaders, for keeping them united and positive for all these years. Everyone (including myself) shed a tear with their first win. Epic.
Welcome to the Dreamworld. Pretty much everyone one of us cried with the first win. Can't wait for you to finish the titles and dive into the b sides.
Love your 'Hi Dami' everytime 😸

I mean they named their whole company "Dreamcather Company" just to support the group so it's like completely all-in even tho at that time when company was renamed DC had like 30% of current success, so I think right now their company completely happy with what they have/
I think I had more to say but maybe next time
Well here's a fun fact, they won the 2nd time during the Maison comeback!!!!
2:46 your 'excuse me' here is similar to DC's own reaction.
There's a video of them reacting to their own MV** and they joked
how this part looked like a "fabric softener commercial" 😆
** search: dreamcatcher official maison mv reaction
Stark change there not only visually (i can see the fabric commercial vibe for sure!) But also musically
Someday I want you to see Dreamcatcher's bang bang bang cover reaction
The Encore Stage is so heartwarming 🥰
tbh i had real struggle because there was Dreamcatcher and DKZ (former Dongkiz, maybe you've heard Lupin) and i wished both this win.
You have this Encores like SVT wich are impressive because they still hit everything, and then you have this amazing Encores that are just so honest and you instantly wanna stan this Group because they are so adorable 😅
I remember Oneus first win with Luna 😆 this was shaky too but so full of Emotions.o
Amazing reaction as always! Also we like that the video was 44 mins long and I think we all agree that we don’t mind it being longer 💀
To know more about the groups history I would recommend watching the Dodging Disbandment video (it’s long but insanely well made)

Normally companies give up on group pretty quickly. If they don’t get a first win in about 3-4 year then it’s basically over for them but Dreamcatcher company (was happyface entertainment) never gave up on them. As far as I know they have always been good to the girls and the girls have a really good relationship with the staff and ceo of the company. The company from the start always provided the group with anything they could and still are doing so( people can correct me on this but haven’t heard anything bad about the company)
Edit:
something else you mentioned was the genre and that it’s a genre not so popular in Korea and your right it isn’t and both the girls and the company knew but decided to do it anyways cuz the girls liked the idea which also says something about the company. I see it as the company not prioritizing money but the girls more.
Dreamcatcher now holds the record for the longest time to get a first win since debut of 1924 days (excluding minx days)
A lot of fandoms helped insomnias out this time and so many congratulated us and dreamcatcher.
Be careful! You might get incredibly long videos!!! >_<
Thank you for the additional insight. 1924 days is a long time but I am glad they got their W!
We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song.
You don't hear many artists talk about climate change in their music!
whenever u say 'hey dami' :D
thank u for reacting to dreamcatcher's maison. so many thoughts but wouldn't want to flood the comments so smth kinda? concise here -
this new trilogy is abt environmental awareness. dunno if the comments have said that before but yah i mean the lyrics are quite straightforward "save my home in the jungle" etc, and "please someone fight for us"
the first win was so many intense emotions. obviously happiness and relief were the main things, being a fan since 2017 fly high era like what else should i feel lol, but personally there was some frustration cos...well, u might come to know when u watch guides as u mentioned? hahah...
(the go to guides are definitely dodging disbandment one for info and ANYTHING by insomnicsy literally a guaranteed burst of laughter from anything by them. unlimited hilarious dreamcatcher content honestly)
but still so happy that they won like it's about time they did
literally streamed that song *all day all night* to help w/their win and never got tired of it. 10/10 was deserved
also so true w/dami holding it together lol. she says she's the one who doesn't cry cos she's there to comfort the members
you're very right about how questionable it is how the korean public doesn't really "like" dreamcatcher's sound. maybe it's cos it's not expected of girl groups at all. when it comes to popular af boy groups like txt and seventeen everyone loves their stuff to bits but with dc everyone goes *cricket noises*....
but to be fair dreamcatcher's sound started very very intense/dark, still is. it's so fortunate they were able to tap into this niche market helping them garner this loyal fanbase
and cos their fanbase grew they really had visible? longevity even without that first win, like being the first kpop act to be invited to primavera sound (one of the best/biggest music festivals in europe) Prior to their win/s, getting their own variety show "dreamcatcher mind" uploaded on their youtube channel, and the growing demand for world tours ever since their first year, and even then it was very likely they would get a first win eventually.
when u mention like those early rock vibes idk their song "break the wall" kinda comes to mind for me? i've seen ppl say it sounds like that? and they have self-made music videos for that, sahara, poison love, july 7th, and curse of the spider, and theyre just lmfaoooo u might want to watch them all in 1 reaction vid if you'll do any
honestly so excited for more deukae reactions from u
tried to be concise but made an entire damn essay sorry for the length :")
Much appreciated!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain these things. :)

Awesome! Thank you! Appreciate the welcome!
If you like rock you’re gonna really like their earlier stuff

Their CEO and the company appear to be what we all hope companies would be like. :)
When u see Dami, just say hi to her lol😂
congrats on 1k subs, and welcome to InSomnia!
🎉 Thank you!!
the first win is incredibly important and we fought hard for years to get it, and im so glad the girls finally got to experience it
but
dc was actually pretty successful without the first win. with kpop being more global, groups dont have to rely on the korean general public to like them to survive. plus, dc’s company did say they were focusing on dc to be a touring group (which is very typical rock groups). sadly pandemic fucked that plan for them, but they still had garnered so many fans by that time and grew even bigger during pandemic with the success of the dystopia trilogy
so even if they hadnt got the win with maison, i really doubt their company would disband them. esp since dc is the breadwinner in the company, for a gg they actually have really good album sales and their fandom is incredibly dedicated
that being said, having been here since their debut as dc and being there through every music show nominations, faced disappointment after disappointment as we kept only getting second place, this first win was incredibly emotional for everyone. ive been a kpop fan since 2007-2008 yet i dont think ive ever cried as hard due to kpop as when dc got their first win. i was a mess for hours lol

Seconded. Especially recommend the lyric videos by 7Dreamers because its really hard to tell apart Dami's belt nestled between Siyeon's high notes at first listen. .
Fun fact: All staffs and PDs were crying with them :")
Wait a sec, am I crying again? Oh, cmon! *wipingtears

Ty for this video. Cant wait for the nighmare series next
Yes. :)
The day they won every last insomnia lost their shit lol. I don’t think anyone DIDNT cry along with them lolol

I know you have reacted to Ateez. Their producer is Edenary and two of the producers who are part of Edenary also produce for Dreamcatcher. Eden mostly just works with Ateez.
The sounds aren’t the same but the production quality is excellent and unique for both.
Heyyyy!!
does DCC have a new dance practice room, or where was that dance practice filmed? or i my memory playing a trick on me,.. because that doesnt look like the dc practice room...
I think it's a rented one, because some of the dance practice they're in is in a rented studio
10/10 wao
I think the more pop-ish sounding song thay came out with is Fly High. The girls even said that they didn't like Fly High as much as they did the other tracks because it was in the line between rock and pop. And still being fresh off of their trauma from Minx, they didn't gravitate towards it as much.
Unpopular opinion: Fly High is one of their best songs!
@@kamreacts4009 very that!
dreamcatcher company is the best company

Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher ruclips.net/video/YIgCAp3i1os/видео.html
yes please, its time for you to react to Dodging disbandment and other extreme sports. then follow up with This Is series by Insomnicsy.
then you can react to Minx, and then the DC nightmare series. (just to see how much they extremely changed their concept)
you can follow up with their japanese releases (which are more heavier and game collabs, youve already reacted to Deja Vu, so maybe check the other one which is Rose Blue)
then definitely watch Dreamcatcher Mind series.
Thanks
Pls react to Dreamcatcher Guide
and welcome to InSomnia family bruh....
