I feel like none of them actually listened to the music. NTWS was a great album and i feel like almost all the people that hate on it, never actually listened to the music. Like cmon so much hate on him for no reason.
Drake really did his thing on this album. Drake displayed why he deserve to be number one in the game. Tuscan leather, furthest thing,Wu-Tang Forever, worst behavior, too much, pound cake, and all me were the stand out tracks on the album. Drake flow has also improved which is a major positive. The R&B side of the album was also good which showed his versatility. Nothing was the same will be the best album of the year.
I effed with the album.... for the most part. It was an almost typical Drake album with some added "hard tracks" or at least elements of "hardness". Either way.. I don't need "hard" from Drake at all. I agree that he would make an R&B album. :)
Marvin was huge and well respected as an artist with pure talent, not some contrived perceived gimmick. What's Going On changed music on a mainstream level in where he, as an extremely popular artist, addressed social issues at a time it was ill advised. He has 3 classic albums (4 in my book) and many, many hits. In addition to that, he inspired and influenced many of his contemporaries of his time and continues to inspire today. Marvin Gaye was a genius.

He's killing in all arenas, features etc and kept honing his craft which most of these bums don't. Love ya'lls channel HOWEVER "worst behavior" in my opinion is dope and "Wu Tang" joint was named that because it's slang for the putang, get that, lol.
Drake and Nicki r dominating the mainstream Hip Hop with their lyrics, features, and versatility in their songs like they don't stick to 1 genre they mix it up

Well the females love Drake. Stop having male chauvinist perceptions. What is soft exactly? You're going based off what society thinks? Loving a woman don't make you soft as I say in some of my verses. He can talk all the softness he wants, it's real for him when he's in those moments. He is gifted & whatever image he wants to portray is the option he has. There's no need to point out what everyone knows. We know Drake is soft but if he raps really good when he's trying to be tough too, then let him. We'd be bored with him if he didn't switch it up.
Loving a woman doesn't make you soft, him constantly saying he won't respond to haters but addressing them in constantly and always being a lil BITCH when it comes to propls giving him any criticism whatsoever is what makes him soft
As I think about it man, I kind of feel why he named that song "Wu-Tang Forever". In essence he was using snipets of a Wu track and letting it "live on" through his current music -- essentially helping to pushWu-Tang on further towards "forever".
Sean Mounts and what I'm saying is, you don't know his intent either. You're riding out like he intended it to have nothing to do with Wu-Tang and have adopted a negative opinion on the project. I'm saying dude must've meant something naming it "Wu-Tang Forever" and handling the track how he did. That shapes my positive view on the project. Oh poor c town. At 11:00 complaining about Drake bragging about another mas chick. Little did he know that's all rap would become in as little as 3 years later by 2016.
Myke made an interesting point about the so far gone mixtape, drakes content on that was not tough guy at all and yet it still came out ill (he had Bun b on there). I prefer drake rapping that RnB shit more than the hood shit
I have no problem with Drake being emotional and R&B style. Actually it's quite welcomed. The biggest flaw with rap music in my opinion is that the lyrics are all about the same things. You have your songs about struggling, being a gangsta and having a lot of money. I have no problem with his personality either, he doesn't act like a complete douchebag. The problems I do however have with Drake is: 1. His songs all sound very similiar 2. He contradicts himself often 3. He knows he's a soft rapper but still acts like a gangsta sometimes 4. He's signed to YMCB 5. He's signed to YMCB 6. He's fucking signed to YMCB 7. Like seriously, he's signed to YMCB 8. Signed to Wayne's record label 9. He's signed to YMCB 10. I remember when yall made a video of upcoming albums yall were looking forward to, and when drakes came up, which was just known as "TBA", Myke said "TBA, yeah, The Bitch Ass". Still one of my favorite DEHH moments.
Myke the one that always makes me laugh, dude needs a Juice cover. PS: Drake said I will never make a rap album, crap If You're Reading This, It's Too Late
Make just made me realise why Drake's music is so fucking appealing to women. His music is soft. His music is very emotional. His music is singing and rapping. Still huge Drake fan, but I think Myke's controversial opinion is really interesting to think about.
Prior to the him starting to sing on tracks, Room For Improvement and Comeback Season were both pretty damn dope... then he switched it up to the "Heartbreak Drake" with So Far Gone. I definitely put Kanye and 808s and Heartbreak as his musical departure from his early work.
That's what a review is... A personal opinion. Every review in the history of man has been just that. That's why it's always good to judge for your self.
ActionHank75 How is he wack? He has flow, charisma, nice word play, he actually raps about shit in his lyrics, not to mention the fact that his songs hv nice beats/production.
That isn't all of his content. He tasks about more meaningful things also. Damn near every song on NWTS has content that is outside of that materialistic prism.
Most of the times I really do listen to all of the guys in DEHH because all of them speak their thinking in a nice way but I always look forward to Myke's cuz his are the best, imo. He's always thinking out the box or saying something surprising. :)
This was drakes best album, when drake did "take care" Mike c town said he didnt like all the singing now he's switchin his word..."Take care" was mostly a r&B album..and he said he couldn't stand the whining and this and that. Now he sayin he would enjoy a drake r&B album..These dudes go back and forth
unfortunately Drake already exposed himself as soft. It wasn't until after he was being called soft that he started putting on a tough guy act. It's clearly forced.
I don't listen to Drake habitually, but he's a great MC. He wrote alot of Lil Waynes most famous verses. He slays alot of so called hard rappers when he's on the same song with them. I bumped the album on a Sunday while watching my team win, and I didn't hate it. I don't hate when he sings, and I like when he raps.
I really enjoy your videos because even if I don't agree with you guys, I can't really get mad because you guys have really good arguments and good reasons as to why you feel a certain way about something. And Myke is fucking hilarious!!!!
Drake has proved himself to be a dope rapper, he's got bars. Looking forward to that Wu tang remix and Im glad they acknowledged the fact that this album has major appeal.
I agree with pretty 90% of Myke's part. Horrible rap lyrics, weird airy production, but when he actually makes a pop song, he sounds pretty good. Hold On, We're Going Home is probably my favourite track, just cause its Drake owning his strengths, rather then trying and failing at rapping well.
The song's called Wu Tang Forever because of the sample of Its Yours off of the album Wu Tang Forever. Yeah sure he could have just named his song Its Yours as well but if you look throughout the album the Wu is a constant motif from the Cappadonna sample on the first track to the CREAM sample on the final track.
This album was a total disappoint, So Far Gone was his best work and will probably always be his best work, unless he makes a So Far Gone 2...and he better not f that up!
Word. Glad you went easy on him Myke man. Really do because i can tell he put alot of effort in to this project. His best work yet imo. And I just recently started to feel him from this album more and i never really understood him before
But then again, how many good rappers exists in the industry? They are comparing drake to the music they are listening to like R.A, brother ali, Elzhi, El-p and so on.. compared to them he aint shit
Drake is the new school LL Cool J. He doesn't make albums for dudes, he makes them strictly for the ladies. He only includes rapping because he still wants to be relevant with males so they know the songs that girls like. Especially when making songs for the club.
I mean he arguably dropped one of the most accessible projects in recent memory with iyrtitl. Remember when it comes to a rapper's legacy n what not, we have to not be subjective n make it based upon our criteria. The whole North America seemed to be fuckin with it. Wattba is still being played in clubs.
There's a difference between being lyrical, such as Kendrick or Earl, and sounding good on the production you're choosing to lay your vocals on. In my opinion, Drake sounds good on 40's production. There's something to say about being tolerant and acceptive for both. Lyrical gymnastics & lyrical apropos.
I've been waiting for this review only to see myke destroy it. I even grabbed a bag of popcorn to see this shit. i swear to god myke should make his own ranting podcasts I swear.
so if he was an r&b artist they would like the album but because he's a rapper, they don't. fuck this "to drake standards" do you like the music or not. we know he sings.
You stupid or something? They're (Myke) saying that he doesn't like Drake rapping so he'd prefer a RnB album which would have no rapping. What's so difficult to understand?
+Andre Moore whatever bitch, you missed the obvious point Myke was making get over it. He simply doesn't like Drakes rapping and likes his singing what's not to get?
I love this album 1st listen because I got more personal side of Drake than Take Care (I still love Take Care), NWTS got more hip-hop productions than Take Care because Boi-1da produces some of the tracks....my expectations were too high because of the tracklist that I wanted everybody from Room For Improvement to be on this album...my top 5 fav songs are "Started From The Bottom" "From Time" "Too Much" "Worst Behavior" "Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2"..this is my #1 album of 2013 hands down!!!
Myke screaming about Drake is everything.
+Juliette Barasch It'll never get old.

why do I keep coming back to this video to see Myke? He is soooooo funny!

@@MAYBE673I mean, he did it...

I'd like Drake to make a double album with one disc hiphop and one disk RnB
yess
That'd be super dope. It'd be like OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
He's doing that with views. One half is singing, the other is rap
+Jaron Marshall I'm guessing it cuz of how he released pop style and one Dance. Pop style is "black" while one dance was "white" in a photo on his IG

no.. only the guy with the long hair said that.. and if you go and listen to his old stuff yu would know how good of mc he is
Drake is the new school LL Cool J. He doesn't make albums for dudes, he makes them strictly for the ladies. He only includes rapping because he still wants to be relevant with males so they know the songs that girls like. Especially when making songs for the club.
Drake is the Kenny G of rap.
+BVNDOO Drake is the Chris Martin of rap. Phoney as shit.
This album is album of the year so far and the numbers prove it!
so is it safe to say Drake is an icon now. what a year for him. Beautiful to see the dominance.
Its kinda sad
+marvin5078 was his year that great? he just released mediocre projects Only thing that was dope was back to back
I mean he arguably dropped one of the most accessible projects in recent memory with iyrtitl. Remember when it comes to a rapper's legacy n what not, we have to not be subjective n make it based upon our criteria. The whole North America seemed to be fuckin with it. Wattba is still being played in clubs.
+marvin5078 Club hits don't do much for anyone's legacy
+Major Skillz Drake got in the moment songs too. plus most classics have hits in the club
Take Care is a masterpiece. This one is still kind of growing on me. Wilsie
No it's not. It's a more upbeat 808s and Heartbreak.
seamac206 Is that a bad thing? 808s was a excellent album.
Will Chase I though that was Kanye's only "eh" album. Even Yeezus has grown on me.
Will Chase No, it's just a less original thing. Nevermind was a less weird and less original Doolittle.
Drake said he's planning on making an ALL rnb album and it might be his next one.
So there's a chance Myke might actually like a Drake album ahah
22:47, Myke is being wildly disrespectful lol 😂.
+Andre Moore "i stand by my point"
"i'm over it"
Okay then...
This is a all time review right here. I always come back to this one
I gotta disagree with this one album was a classic
Nah
This album was pretty good. Drake can do better, but this album was still pretty good. I liked Worst Behavior, and Wu-Tang Forever.
REMEMBER!
I really like this album. Way better than his first two albums IMO. It's on the level of So Far Gone.
haha myke aggressively talking about why Drake is agressively singing on a track is hilarious
