It's a weird feeling seeing Drake's music turning 10 years old. Room For Improvement, So Far Gone, Thank Me Later, and now Take Care are all 10 years old. Next is Nothing Was The Same. Music still feels fresh sounding to me.

Nothing was the same was such a timing thing as well. It was warm people were driving with their windows down and just vibing. The album was a vibe. Views was cold and more of drakes poetic side more of a darker vibe if you will. From his hometown feels. Appreciate your work Shawn.

Tuscan Leather and Furthest Thing boosted my expectations extremely high for the rest of the album.

This is one of my favorite Drake albums. Hold on we're going home, Own it and hell all of it. This solidified Drake as a super 🌟 to me. The men in these streets had to begrudgingly admit that he was the ladies musical daddy ❤.

Everything was just right with this album; It's title, theme, cohesiveness, It just clicked. He constantly reflects on his older self and compares it to his then-current self, concluding that nothing was the same anymore. That's why this album is a classic. He combines his R&B and rap side perfect. My personal favourite and his best in my opinion.
Fun fact: Off the 16 songs on this album, 15 have at least been viewed 1.5 million times on Genius.
Another fun fact: Drake and his label officially intended to put out 2 versions of this album: One in the normal order, the other one in it's reversed order. Meaning the last song would be the first, and the first song would be the last. A literal version of "Nothing Was The Same".

NWTS will forever be Drake's classic for me. Weird how it never really got the credit it deserved when it came out cause it was in Take Care's shadow.
I saw no Views slander on the TL until Joe Budden went on his rant, then people flipped a switch on it and years later people are flipping back. It's a great album. His best? No. But it will be remembered as apart of the legendary summer 2016. One of the greatest years in human history.
The Language has been on repeat and it somehow rarely gets old.

I first heard Drake on the soundtrack to NBA 2K14 and it was started from the bottom. I thought it was a solid track and still think that. Every time I hear it I get super nostalgic and brings me back to being 13 and playing 2K after school
NWTS being so concise really works in its favor. While i don’t think it’s perfect, and some tracks don’t really work for me, it definitely was Drake at his sharpest. It was focused, inspired, and he honed all of the best parts of his talents and gave us some of his best material to date. His most quintessential sound is the Take Care sound but some of his best writing is on NWTS. 40 killed it too cuz the mixing job is fantastic
Drake went back to back crazy with NWTS and IYRTITL He showed his more humble underdog side and proved his talent and skill as a rapper and then rode that wave and said fuck everything and just made ignorant bangers flexing like crazy, ever since it feels like he just feels so sure of his prowess that like his writing quality melodies hooks and verses, his everything basically just feel like an afterthought. he knows one thing will stick as a hit every album at least so it’s just half-assed sounding

I was about 13 when Started from the Bottom came out. That being said, I loved it. I don't find myself going back to it as often as I do his other songs, but it has its time and place.

Started From The Bottom was my 4th and 5th grade anthem. Heard it in the car. Heard it on 2K soundtrack. Catchy as hell. As a listener nowadays I still love it as it's a hard hitting yet laid back song.

I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned Too Much with Sampha. In my opinion, it is easily Drake’s most overlooked track. It’s such a breath of needed reality that I will always turn to if I am stressed, or even if I’m in a good mood. Although Drake’s verse and the use of the chipmunk vocals is a bit forced, the messaging, flow, and atmosphere of the track is truly spellbinding and meaningful, and this is coming from a guy that is divided on some of even his best albums (Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late).
From beginning to end, Nothing Was The Same is perfect. I agree 100 %. My all time fav can listen to it anytime

For anyone who says this album is not perfect the man had a reverse sample of Whitney Houston and a Memento bar in an intro. Get out here this was a beautiful intro not only the bars but the production. At times I can listen to an entire track and be like I can do with just the instrumentals. I think this album does it quite beautifully, I would say this was his last body of work which was the fusion of Comeback Season and Room for Improvement. Views gave us little of that but then switched to more of the inherited island beats and afro beats he got from exposure to other artists. Nothing Was The Same felt like it can only come from Drake.
When the album first dropped i wasn't really into Drakes music at the time, i was listening to a lot of Rock and Metal. But when a friend played it while we were driving around at 11pm on a summer night, it made me a big fan of Drakes music
