It took me many years to realize that my acne was worsened due to seasonal allergies. I appreciate you mentioning that in our video. Anti-inflammatory medication and topicals have helped me to control this. SuperGoop mineral powder sunscreen has been a real blessing, I can reapply not only to protect the skin, but to control shine. No white cast.
I would love to see a video on Paula's Choice skincare! I'm not familiar with their products, but I keep hearing amazing things about them. I don't know where to start!
I'll second that. It's such a huge line of products and I feel overwhelmed. I don't know anyone who uses the products so it's not like I can ask a friend. This channel has helped me decide on so many products.
I'm using a moisturizer that is also sun cream from Paula's choice and I love it, that was my first product from that brand and I'm happy with it, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and I feel like my makeup applies nicer after using it
I'm hooked on Paula's Choice 10% AHA serum(4 years now). It's strong but I rarely ever feel the sting, I wake up with baby soft skin. Their gel cleanser is really good too, if you wait for a sale you can get it for cheap, and it lasts forever!!!!
Just started following your skincare routine. Wow it truly saved me from the aftermath of retinoid use. My skin was just so dry no matter how much moisturizer I put on. The products you’ve mentioned here are wonderful and beautiful. Thank you again.. and looking forward to more videos!
It seems that hitting the “save” button is a reflex with your channel! Thank you for being so thorough and honest. I’ve gone back to school so really splurging on skincare is difficult, but you always offer a more cost-effective option for key ingredients!
Thank you for mentioning that zinc oxide can irritate sensitive skin! So many beauty bloggers recommend physical sunscreen as the only option if you're sensitive, but I've always found zinc heavy sunscreens very uncomfortable. I much prefer chemical filters for my very sensitive skin. Can't wait for your sunscreen video!
I love your skincare videos, I’m addicted and have changed my skin to the point where people are telling me how nice my skin is, which is my favorite compliment. I also love your voice he listen to you read the phone book if there still were such a thing.
I so appreciate how technical your videos are Renee! You give me hope that there are communities on RUclips that appreciate depth to self-care videos. Thank you for your beautiful content, experimentation, and research. xo
Elizabeth Cruz me tooo but also this retinoid series is so useful for me rn because I went to my derm and she prescribed Aczone & Tretinoin to help clear it up- it’s been working wonders but leaves my skin super flaky and sensitive!
This is perfect for me! I never used to have spring skin problems but this year, I really do. This is exactly what I needed! I discovered your channel 4 years ago when I purchased my first skin oil. I was intimidated by the concept and your video was informative without being driven by a particular brand. Please always keep this honesty! I always look forward to your videos.
I love that you are honest in your recommendations and feelings on products because I and a lot of other people really do buy things based on your approval. Thank you!
Thanks for another great video Renee, I always get excited when I see a new video of yours in my feed. Can't wait to see your updated SPF video! You mention in your video that it took a while to reintroduce other actives into your routine whilst getting it normalized on retinol. I know the general rule on introducing actives into my routine but I'm a little confused as to how to approach existing actives in my routine during that introduction phase. Could you provide some clarification/advice as to what you recommend for that sort of thing?
I was just hoping for a skincare like this after incorporating retin-a and retinol into my skincare routine! I’ve been feeling the same symptoms you mentioned. You’re amazing!
She just answered some questions about why my skin has become sensitive. I've used sunscreen with zinc oxide and possibly also need to break from acids
I’d really love for you to review Acure’s skincare range. A lot of the products have great reviews, seem naturally sourced, and are at a great price point. The product I love is the Soothing Blue Tansy Oil, which many say is a dupe for the Lapis Oil. I’ve never tried the latter, but the Acura Blue Tansy Oil is my HG Oil. I was afraid of them (aside from cleansing) before I tried the Acure’s, and I am hooked! It’s soothing and super nourishing without being heavy or too “oily.” Thanks for always being so informative and thorough. Absolutely adore your content, and hope for a collab with Nadine Baggott again soon!
I am sure all these products are amazingly effective but the regime is very very complicated and layer after layer ! Wouldn’t know which to choose...I guess it’s all about your budget and the amount of time you can donate to your skincare routine.
Hey Renee! Your one of my favorite Skin youtubers! I always trust what you have to say because I know you put a lot of research into the products you review. Can you please review collagen supplements?
Thank you for mentioning about higher zinc spfs how they can be so astringent! I thought I was crazy for experiencing the same thing you were explaining. Everybody always says mineral isn’t best for sensitive skin but.. I’ve had the complete opposite experience! Most mineral spfs just irritate my skin. I can literally feel microgrit as I rub them in and they always irritate my eyes and make my skin feel raw, also look red. I have never had a bad experience yet with chemical sunscreens. I use LRP double repair UV, Anthelios 60 melt in milk, Ultrasun Family spf 30, Altruist 50. Chemical sunscreens have such a lovely creamy texture so I think that’s why when I have used a mineral sunscreen, it feels micro gritty.
I love your channel! You've introduced me to so many great products and brands! I'm super excited for your sunscreen series, I'm hoping you'll include some fragrance free recommendations suitable for sensitive skin. I love the texture of the Purito, but the strong lavender scent is too much for me. I know when you recommend something that it's going to be high quality, and cosmetically elegant! Thanks so much for all that you share!
I love your videos! They're so relaxing and this is super helpful. I have also found that multiple light layers of hydration are key and have been on the hunt.
Always great to see a new video from you. I've been using purito sunscreen for the past few months and love it. The only thing that bothers me about it is the lavender oil but I make an exception for it because it's one of the few sunscreens I actually tolerate. Glad to see it mentioned in your routine. Looking forward to your sunscreen video!
I’m SOOO thankful for you. You are the only person I trust about skincare on RUclips. We have the same skin type so I will literally follow anything you say. I’ve been in Sephora watching your RUclips’s trying to remember products you say. Please never stop making videos, I need you in my life and you don’t even know it 😹, let’s be friends & mentor my skin hahaha 🇨🇦
Hey Renee, I was wondering if you could do a video on maybe some dermatologist or skincare books that are good to purchase that teach the basics of skin care. I love your channel but sometimes I get confused with all the different skin care products and medical names for ingredients. Or maybe you could make a video on how you got into skincare and came to know so much knowledge on the subject! I think it could be super fun and helpful! or maybe talk about some good websites you like to read about skincare, or maybe some of your other favorite skincare youtube channels!
Would you maybe make a video on how to adjust your skincare routine for traveling to a different climate? Like, in general what would be a good routine for climate. I feel that when I travel I always break out. With summer coming up this would probably help a lot of people.
I ran out of the sunscreen I'd been using all summer and went back to a backup which contained Zinc oxide and my skin became instantly dry, red and irritated. I have Rosacea and Zinc is meant to be such a great sunscreen for me, but I'm realizing it just doesn't work on me! I'm paring back my routine to treat my new flare up and getting my usual trusted sunscreen back!
I get so excited whenever you post a new video!!! 🙌🏼😊💕 you are one of my favorite people to watch and listen to!! You always recommend the most wonderful products, I have found many of my holy grails from you 😍 thank you so much!! 😊 question... what would you recommend for me to use for a good eye treatment or eye cream/serum? I have aging, delicate skin around my eyes, no real puffiness or darkness. Just wrinkles and loss of firmness. I tend to get milia under my eyes whenever I use an eye cream and it’s very frustrating I have tried so many 😩 if you could give me some advice or recommend a product I could try I would greatly appreciate it 😍
So interesting! Had no idea the zinc in mineral sunscreen could be the reason it dries so much! Cannot wait for your review of sunscreens. Would you consider including Suntegrity's new Impeccable Skin? All-in-one products (very moisturising and colour correcting that don't settle in fine lines) are a holy grail I've yet to find. Thank you!
OMG!!! What was that adorable little spoon you used to portion out your sunscreen - TWICE!!! Please explain. Is that the right amount, etc etc. and where do we find such a thing. It is so cute I would actually love to use it!
Yes, another video so soon after the last!!! I'm hoping you'll see this but, do you have any recommendations for more affordable options for niacinamide and azaleic acid other than the ordinary brand? Paula's choice is just not in the budget for me unfortunately, I hope there's something in the mid range budget that you like too! (The ordinary niacinamide sadly just pills too much for me.)
Yeah I wish the Ordinary Niacinamide and azaleic acid agreed with me but they really don't. Have you tried Garden of Wisdom? They have decent options for both although I haven't tried their azaleic yet.
@@gothamista Thanks so much for replying! No I haven't, but I'll definitely look into those. I'm so glad you mentioned that those sunscreens can be used as moisturizers since that's also something I've been so confused about. I'd find information saying it's fine, but then other places saying that it's like makeup, so you don't want to put it directly on your skin without moisturizer. Glad to know I can save myself a step😅
Thank you for mentioning Zinc and sensitive skin. I have really tried to find a mineral sunscreen, but they either suck all the moisture from my already dry skin, or itch and burn. I never considered it to be the zinc, I always thought additives.
The thing about zinc oxide is also true for me. In my case im experiencing extra sensitivity, some pimples, dryness, and overall redness from retinol and allergy to whatever it is during rainy season, and zinc oxide especially in all-mineral sunscreen products just gets my skin unbearably itchy after 2 or 3 hours of use. I actually find well-formulated chemical sunscreens just much more comfortable to use.
Oh, you found Edible Beauty!! I bought all their booster serums when they first came out on their website before Sephora even had them. They were buy-one-get-one for their introduction. I love Edible Beauty. Their mist is really nice and the Goddess serum is great too.
I'd love to use colorscience total 3 in 1. but actually I use so many different eye cream and need to finish at least two. Paula's choice skincare was a must for me years ago when I was working in China, then for some reason I switch. Respect to Mrs Begun and her staff! Muche love Renee xoxo, Ciao Bella, annarosa
Hi Rene! I have to get my hands on those eye creams! Lol but on another note, can you do a video about your views on DIY face masks. Do you do them yourself, or do you think they’re effective? Thank you🤗
Maybe a dumb question but can you talk about when and why you might want to consider using retinol as opposed to less invasive ingredients? I’ve been watching your series and definitely curious. I still get acne occasionally and am starting to use more preventative anti-aging products since I’m only in my late 20s but good to know when I might want to start thinking about it. Your description of the one from the inkey list was tempting to my inner skincare nerd!
Great to see some old favourites here which are now always in my stash thanks to your previous advice. Spf burns my eyes as well but we don't have colourescience in the UK and it's mega bucks expensive to import. Purito is a fantastic brand. ❤️
Such good recs here! Q about your Colorscience under-eye product: how would you describe the color? I bought this last year and the color was a deep peach color. When I put it on it looked like I borrowed someone else’s concealer. I looked like a jaundiced raccoon. It’s not like I am super pale - RMS 22 for reference. Do you think I could have gotten a product that went bad?
I can't wait for your sunscreen reviews. I live in a climate with intense sun. Because of my acne medication and retinal, I have to use sunscreen and reapply sunscreen. I have been using mineral sunscreen but when I go to Europe, I purchase chemical sunscreen. I am using Make P:rem and Elta MD UV Element, both of them are great under make up.
I was really enjoying using my retinol in emulsion from the ordinary. Sadly I found out recently that coco has so many many many names. I can't even use glycerin anymore because its used to be made from olives and now coconut too. So all I know I can use is honey to wash my face and rosehip oil to moisturize. You got any ideas? I trust very few opinions, but I know how well you know what you're doing xxx
Love love your channel. A query: so I live in Kuwait which can be very hot and very dry but does have a humidity factor variant from time to time. Do you recommend Vitamix C and Hyaluronic acid even in these extreme summers ? Many thanks
the perfect consolation prize for a sleepless night - a video from you! I love the MISSHA All Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++ but I have trouble getting it here in the UK - could you recommend a similar product?
Changing my routine to serum first has made the biggest difference in my skin. I also started using multitasking or multipurpose products and my skin is so soft and smooth and normal. Thanks for that recommendation
I do have an important question I been meaning to ask you about “ Broken/ Leaky “ Capillaries. Other than laser treatment do you have any information or experience with treatments & the best Skincare Routine for someone such as myself with: - dry, somewhat sensitive, matured ( matured due to oophorectomy ) w/ fine lines & wrinkles { around eye area, getting 1/2 of a “crooked” 11, have recently noticed some lines in the corners of my mouth 😢 } skin, naturally freckled with some sun damage I’m sure, & 🥁-roll right!....Broken / Leaky Capillaries w/ flushed cheeks. **(left cheek worse than right probably due to sun when driving etc., & major lack of SPF Summer before last 😳)** • I did have this happen ab 7+ years ago & had the laser done successfully. I vowed to be more “Stress & Sun Aware” ( a really big deal ) so this would NEVER happen again. However life happens/happened & I wasn’t ready, caught without a vitamin & an SPF I had fallen head-over-heels in love with. SO here I am writing you lovely but busy folks a book about my pink & ruddy cheeks! I would be so very appreciative for any & all information & time given to share your best wisdom & product suggestions etc. that you have for me & a lot of folks out there like me! Thank you 💛 xx
I am on my second bottle and I have mixed feelings about it. I never had sensitive skin and when I used it used it it worked fine. It pills a little, but if you make sure to apply essences/serums/acids underneath it, then its fine, especially if used at night. HOWEVER, I recently started getting VERY sensitive skin and whenever I tried applying TO niacinamide it started burning a little.. So yeah, I believe that the Paula's choice one is definitely better formulation wise. In terms of effectiveness, I am not sure
can't wait for the sunscreen series! looking forward to it, Renee!
Hi Carol! I've missed seeing you on here! Yes, seasonal allergies are no joke. Spring is always about managing raw, puffy, red skin.
I would love to see a video on Paula's Choice skincare! I'm not familiar with their products, but I keep hearing amazing things about them. I don't know where to start!

I always find some new products when I watch your skincare videos. Loved this! Love Paula's Choice too. I've used her products for nearly 20 years. 💜
So happy you enjoyed!! PC classics have stood the test of time and their new products are as good!
I so appreciate how technical your videos are Renee! You give me hope that there are communities on RUclips that appreciate depth to self-care videos. Thank you for your beautiful content, experimentation, and research. xo
We are so blessed to have your updated morning and night time skin care routine. I am waiting for the acne part of you and Dr. Sam. Thank you Renee!
Can we get a update on OILY SKIN ROUTINE I have really bad hormonal acne 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Elizabeth Cruz me tooo but also this retinoid series is so useful for me rn because I went to my derm and she prescribed Aczone & Tretinoin to help clear it up- it’s been working wonders but leaves my skin super flaky and sensitive!
Omg @gothamista I’m so glad you did another video you are the one that got me into skin care thank you for teaching me so much xoxo
Thank you so much, this makes me so happy!! 🤗

It took me so long to realize she’s talking to a mirror.
Didn't know either until you mentioned it!
I love that you are honest in your recommendations and feelings on products because I and a lot of other people really do buy things based on your approval. Thank you!
Love all the information in your videos. Your videos have helped me so much over the past year. Thank you for the great content.
Total bliss = new video from Renee, the skin care Queen 💛
Can you please do an affordable morning and evening skincare routine for winter or summer? Love all your videos!!
i am very much looking forward to the sunscreen series! hope you'll also be talking about body SPF in it.
your videos are always so informative and calming 💜 I can't wait for your sunscreen series :D
Oooo your little spoonula is so cute!
YES! Can't wait for the Sunscreen videos! The Pratima neem sunscreen that I found through your videos is still a top favorite of mine!
Shopping around for sunscreen & sun block, so can't wait for the review
I would love to see a video on your favorite first step cleansing oils or balms!
What a pleasure To watch you Renee thank you so much for your precious advice 😍😍😍
I am sure all these products are amazingly effective but the regime is very very complicated and layer after layer ! Wouldn’t know which to choose...I guess it’s all about your budget and the amount of time you can donate to your skincare routine.
NicolaNorf sunscreen is THE most important. And
something hydrating underneath if needed. Seriously that’s all you need for good healthy skin.
Hooray!! I love your videos so much! Every time I see you post a new video it makes my day 😊
Hey Renee! Your one of my favorite Skin youtubers! I always trust what you have to say because I know you put a lot of research into the products you review. Can you please review collagen supplements?
New Gothamista video? Time for a mini facial! God, I love you SO much.
💜💜 you!! Yay, let's pamper together!
Best skincare channel on the tube!
I have been at home with an ear infection and I have been binge watching your videos! love this channel❤
Hope you feel better. A netti pot may help with that...I used to get infections all the time.
I hope you do a favorites from Sephora ‘s skincare line!
When ppl frequently ask me about skincare advice I literally think back and go “ah yes Gothamista has a video on that.”
Awww I love this, thank you
🤗💜

Can’t wait for your sunscreens 🧴 video!
Love your videos. The content is informative and delivered professionally. Soothing too 🥰
wow you mentioned your sunscreen series coming up and I honestly gay gasped. a queen for her people. we stan.
Gay gasp? Lmao a whole clown we stan

So would I ! 😇🐌
I love your videos! They're so relaxing and this is super helpful. I have also found that multiple light layers of hydration are key and have been on the hunt.
Yes! Discovering that changed everything for me!

i love your passion for skincare
Thank you for another lovely informative video, I have just started my retinol journey and your guidance is invaluable- Thankyou 👌
So happy to hear that Shelley, good luck! Glad my mistakes can help 😁
Did I see Hada Labo Premium gel lotion? So interested to know how you use this product!
A new video...yeeahhh. You are my beauty guru and I live by your advice. Will you still use retinols through out the summer?
This is very helpful because my skin now is kinda sensitive due to Retinol. Thanks a lot! Always on point and informative. I learn a lot from you.
Love your videos! They are always very informative. Can't wait for the sunscreen reviews!! Take care, Ginny 😘😘😘

So informative and so peaceful to watch xx
So interesting! Had no idea the zinc in mineral sunscreen could be the reason it dries so much! Cannot wait for your review of sunscreens. Would you consider including Suntegrity's new Impeccable Skin? All-in-one products (very moisturising and colour correcting that don't settle in fine lines) are a holy grail I've yet to find. Thank you!
Thank you! The hyaluronic toner sounds intriguing. Please recommend more cleansing water and toners that don't contain surfactants. 🙏
Make vid on your summer routine please !!!
I love the colorescience eye treatment! It's worth the money.
OMG!!! What was that adorable little spoon you used to portion out your sunscreen - TWICE!!! Please explain. Is that the right amount, etc etc. and where do we find such a thing. It is so cute I would actually love to use it!
She’s back 😍😍😍
Yes, another video so soon after the last!!! Oh, you found Edible Beauty!! I bought all their booster serums when they first came out on their website before Sephora even had them. They were buy-one-get-one for their introduction. I love Edible Beauty. Their mist is really nice and the Goddess serum is great too.
I managed to get 3 of their serums before they sold out on sephora. Can't wait to try the others!
Can I please get Buller point of products I should get I'm new to this any confused do I need all these products?
what !!!!! Spring ??? here is mid summer omg wow what a season differences . nice video
i just found your channel and its amazing! what do you think about LED light therapy? and what would you usually use before you have it?
thank you!
I'm glad you reviewed Isntree HA essence, I had noticed it but couldn't find many reviews !
I'd love to use colorscience total 3 in 1. but actually I use so many different eye cream and need to finish at least two. Waooo you glow
Thank you for another great video
Can't wait for the sun screens
Is the purito physical only sun screen?
I love your intelligent nerdy side. You give the 411 wo just babbling bout nothing. Thank you
Also using Paula's choice niacinamide booster, works amazing!
Hi Rene! I have to get my hands on those eye creams! Lol but on another note, can you do a video about your views on DIY face masks. Do you do them yourself, or do you think they’re effective? Thank you🤗
Which The Ordinary product/s would you recommend for oily and acne prone skin? :)
The niacinamide and zinc serum!
I wish I can give you a thousand likes! You help me a lot on picking the right products for my sensitive skin😘
omg, what a beautiful person you are!!
Can you do a vegan and crulty free product recommendation?
Many thanks
Thank you so much! This is amazing as usual! 🙌🏻
I would love to see your current favorite makeup routine :)
the perfect consolation prize for a sleepless night - a video from you!
I do have an important question I been meaning to ask you about
“ Broken/ Leaky “ Capillaries. Other than laser treatment do you have any information or experience with treatments & the best Skincare Routine for someone such as myself with:
- dry, somewhat sensitive, matured ( matured due to oophorectomy ) w/ fine lines & wrinkles { around eye area, getting 1/2 of a “crooked” 11, have recently noticed some lines in the corners of my mouth 😢 } skin, naturally freckled with some sun damage I’m sure, & 🥁-roll right!....Broken / Leaky Capillaries w/ flushed cheeks.
**(left cheek worse than right probably due to sun when driving etc., & major lack of SPF Summer before last 😳)**
• I did have this happen ab 7+ years ago & had the laser done successfully.
Is niacinamide 10% from ordinary as effective as Paula's choice xx
I use it everyday and find it quite calming and soothing. If you are just starting out I think it's a good choice!
In terms of effectiveness, I am not sure
i am so jealous , I also have too many products but the products you have i don't. aaaaaa i want all of those you have in my collection .
Can you make a video of the best sunscreens to use for the body for everyday use???
You are both informative and beautiful. Thank you as always.
