The bodies appeared to be frozen even though it was 40 degrees celsius outside. That would explain why their bodies were in that position. There were also strange noises coming from the ship itself when they were trying to recover it, most likely this was the structural integrity of the ship, which later caused an explosion.
THEORY! Vampire Attack. The ship was also carrying an ancient vampire who was accidentally released, and it sucked the energy out of the crew, and then when confronted by the boarding crew who tried to kill it, the boarding crew blew the ship up. It now roams the Malaysian islands to this very day.
Here's a video idea: bring people who claim that they can "sense" spirits or dirty things and bring them BLINDFOLDED to 5 locations around singapore, 3 of them being normal places / parks and 2 of them being places that are supposedly "haunted", and see if they can actually tell the difference
The problem is, how people could tell the different? There's possibily that the 'normal' places actually haunted or having spirits but they aren't bad ghost/spirit so they don't aggresive or bothering human, just minding their own business.
@@aubreysong they can Swap places between the people who can "Sense" Evil spirits. And then make a summary of what could be right and what could be wrong.
they actually made a game out of this! it's called Man of Medan, a game part of a franchise called "The Dark Pictures Anthology". they have the same creators of Until Dawn!
I remember that game, people protesting because in the gameplay if you just forget or missed to bring one particular item, even after you done all other side quests perfectly, if you couldn't secured that item, you just game over or straight up to the bad ending. It's basically sudden death game.
Wow! I'm so happy I found this channel. Awesome work, you two! IDK why this just popped up in my feed, but I'll be catching up on your back catalog in the next few days. I really like the format, the presentation, the whole works. And the depth of research is impressive. I'd heard a couple versions of this story, but both were the 1947 incident, I had no idea about the earlier stories. And I've heard it said that, back in the day, if you were a foreign press corespondent, it wasn't unheard of to send in a completely made up, super hard to verify story, just to keep getting paid. I can see this getting started when the reporter needed a quick story. But that doesn't mean there wasn't a ship involved in '47, bc if you were up to no good and needed a name for an unregistered ship, it's possible you heard about the Medan from the older stories. My new favorite weird stories channel! I subscribed!
This is actually really fun. There's also a game that inspired SS Orang Mudan called Man of Medan. You should also do more about this kind of crime investigation like the urban legends in southeast asia
Oki, so I love the 5th theory, it's a funny one! But ofc, if you remember the fact that they said there were no scars of any sort, then the alien squeezing qouldnt make sense, cause that would leave marks of some sort! Nah I seriously sat there shake my head and laugh like an idiot, playing it backa and forth. I love you man, keep making mrie video ❤😂
I, for one, have my own theory on the SS Orang Medan mystery. But this might sound a lot like fiction, except the timeline is quite coincident. I have a theory where old steamers like SS Orang Medan were used as a cheaper (and off the books) mean of transporting all items that has connections to the infamous Manhattan Project, and due to the strict regulations on sea routes after the world war, SS Orang Medan decided to go through the least suspicious trade route that only consisted of light carriers and lax securities (compared to the other places). Probably expecting a long smooth sail along the Malacca Strait, but suddenly complications occurred with the cargo they were transporting, and therefore causing the crew to panic and lose control of the situation. Probably they were exposed to ionizing radiation in a prolonged period, that they passed within hours. It is also recorded that radioactive exposure may cause extreme hallucination, and probably the way the crew were found was a reaction of sort to the radiation exposure. The reason the officers from the rescue parties did not die on the spot was because the exposure period were not long enough, but still they would've probably passed away after few days or weeks, or even months after their encounter with SS Orang Medan. As for the explosion, probably it is some sort of a fail safe rig that were put in place, shall there be an occasion that might led to compromising the cargo content. It's as if the whole scenario had 2 endings; cargo will be acknowledged upon arrival to the receiver's port, or cargo will be destroyed upon chances of discovery by any other parties aside from the receiver. In other words, evidence destruction was within their plans, since the beginning.
The ship was carrying an extremely deadly nerve agent that wasn't properly stored and started to leak out of it's container mixing with the air on the ship causing the whole crew to basically hallucinate to death. They literally died of fright and possibly from something else in the chemical weapon that caused their bodies to just stop functioning. The United States sunk the abandoned ship after discovering the chemical was still dangerous. It would have been a complete disaster if they brought it back to port. There's a popular horror game that used this story for one of it's main storylines. Stories like this actually scare me because it's a little too real. 😅
@@BeatleProductionsOfficial Man of Medan. It's a story in a series of different games all stemming from the same concept. You play as different people throughout the game and the outcome depends heavily on the decisions you and your partner make. It's way better if you have someone else to play with .
This Orang Medan story is likely inspired by and derived from the story of ghost ship Mary Celeste. Like the ship was found with the crew missing and were never found, while everything was in tact in the ship. Nothing was robbed or missing from the cargo. There were half eaten food just lying around the table, suggesting the crew were in the middle of a meal when they suddenly just disappeared. Nobody found the crew or hints of the crew of Mary Celeste till this day.
Maybe they had a lightening strike that didn’t cause burns but a heart attack. It would explain the explosion afterwards by technical issues maaayyybee.
