Thank you so much brothers for this series. This is incredibly important and something that I have been struggling with for years. I attempted to read "The original monotheism" in 2017 as that was my biggest hope but it was dense and hard to read. So thank you again for this and putting things together for us!

At around 36:00 the Surah mentioned is Surah Yusuf
And regarding what was mentioned at around 44:00 , remember that shirk asghar (often interpreted as 'minor shirk') has been addressed by the ulamaa'. Things like riyaa' (showing off) are very serious but do not cause the doer to leave the din. Actually directing 'ibaadah to other than Allaah 'Azza waJall is shirk akbar (major shirk) which is even more severe wal'iyaadhu Billaah
Glad to see the Tawheed duroos have started again! ما شاء الله

      Asalaamu alaikum
      Correct.
As I was tired during the live my words did not flow properly.
For sure every culture fell into major shirk. Some more than others, some massively. That is what I should have said.
      Jazak Allah khair

      وعليكم السلام
      وأنتم فجزاكم الله خيرا
Is this Gerry? As it seems so, i want to say that you are teaching a great topic. We already know with yaqeen that people were upon AtTawhid and some in later times fell into shirk. It is not as the darwinists try to claim.
i am happy you explained what you meant about the kind of shirk many fell into. It is very important to understand the difference between shirk akbar and shirk asghar. الحمد لله
you are already aware that they are not the same. Of course, both need to be avoided completely.
The details you have been speaking about are very important. i like how you have been sticking to actual reports and not delving into unconfirmed philosophical statements. The ulamaa' have reminded us to stick to what is mentioned in the Din and warned against the kalaami way of debating in ways that are not beneficial. Please try do the classes often. I had been waiting since the last one you did a few months back and since the discussion on Rerooted.
Also, do you have a contact address that you check regularly? There are many da'wah channels that have great content which i have been listening to lately. Most of them are in 'Arabi and often have captions in English. Perhaps you can talk to some of the speakers on these channels, they deliver duroos similar to the ones you have been doing. I can send you links إن شاء الله
      بارك الله فيك

Brother Imran I want to share a small information I dont know whether you are aware about that or not. ie the etheism today claiming that they are the believers of science but actually its an ancient idea which existed known as “Charvakam”. The main idea is we live here we die here before our death we have to enjoy the freedom and enjoy the enjoyments. We can call it as materialism. The main reason for this movement was against the exploitation of the religous priest to their believers. Just like the begning of feminism to prevent the exploitation and torturing of women by few countable men. Both idealogies have gone extreme. It has happened due to no further choice for them. Now we have Islam people should be aware about. May Allah help you

It is truely a great evidence available in India.
Brother Gerry and Imran please watch Zakir naik lecture on The similarity of Hinduism and Islam.
    Its good evidence
They started from monothiesm. Then to naturalism and personified the naturalism. Example indra is the god of rain. Varuna is the sea god. Sun god moon god, fire god called agni and attributes of god became gods.
You know the oldest language of the world is Tamil the language of dravidian people. They are the original inhabitants of India. They have four gods called Mayon, Pakalon, Cheyon and Kadalon. These four are natural forces.
Adam alaihisalam came down from heaven to their land and travelled to Mecca to find out the Eve mother

    Salam Alaykum
    Alhamdulillah very Beneficial video👍🏾
Can we say that the two points which can be taken from this as Imran said, namely that A) the idea of a singular transcendent being was always held by mankind and is innate (as far as evidence shows) and B) that they always fell short in preserving this belief and consequently fell into polytheism and idolatry, would support the notion of divine intervention in the sense of the creator interacting with his creation so that they may return back to the original path ?
Coz some ppl mostly deists who reject the idea of god given guidance, claim there is no need for the creator to interact with the creation and that our innate human
    "moral compass"
(which initially/intrinsically is sound but can be clouded) would suffice.
And another interesting side point, I think languages themselves can sometimes be an indicator for the innate belief that there is a higher, transcendent being/creator.
In almost every language (especially ancient ones) there is a concept for it, not only that but there are many words that contain/entail implicit morally loaded value judgements (having their conceptions for this higher being as the definer for morals)
which caused secularists to modify them in order to make them neutral or to add new meanings.

      Wa alaikum salaam
Spot on with points A and B.Also when missionaries/explorers learned languages upon first contacts with tribal cultures they realised these peoples already had words reflecting attributes of God.
      Jazak Allah khair

      Asalaamu alaikum
Please be careful with comments like this brothers.Speculation about the Prophets is not good etiquette.
There is a difference of opinion on what language Ibraaheem (alayhis salaam )spoke. We will be responsible for everything we write and put out on the day of judgement. As a respect to them we can only say what we are certain of.
It is certain Ibraaheem was calling to worship Allah alone. However the concept of Anu is shirk deviation however you look at it.
As many Muslims are not grounded enough in the Islamic traditions we have to be more careful what we write and say. There are limits to what we can do with certain evidences. We do not want Muslims going and saying things about Allah which are incorrect on the basis of our comments.
Please be more careful than this in the future
      Barak Allahu feek
