Oh my glitter! I’m so glad you posted this video. I made one of these YEARS ago in a class. I’d lost the instructions and had forgotten how I’d made it. My original one is sitting beside my main sewing machine holding clips and a pen and thread snips in the little angled pockets. Everyone who sees it wants to make one, but I’d totally forgotten. I’ll gladly send everyone to your YT channel to learn how to make one. Thank you! I can’t wait to make more for my other machines!
🎉 This Basket & Tutorial is a Winner 🎉 I really want to thank you for going back to demonstrate how the basket needs to look/lays as you do the 2nd set of corners 🥰 My brain needs to see ... the 'how-to's' inorder to learn😂 Now off to make my friend one as a Get Well gift❣️
Over the years I have made all kinds of these baskets round, square, oval and they are so much fun to make for myself or gifts. I really like this method as it is so quick and versatile. Thank you for your great video, I love your choice of fabric, they are so pretty.
Very cute and easy. An alternative to cutting off the corner excess and zig zag finishing, is to bind the edge for a cleaner finish. Either with one of the 2 fabrics or a complementary fabric. As is, it would be a cute retreat tool basket. The internal corner pouches could hold small scissors, seam ripper, marking pen, and then the main cavity for many other items.
Thank you so much for this video. I love the quilting pattern you used on your super cute fabric basket. I definitely plan to make a batch of these for my daughters & granddaughters. ❤
Thank you much for this great tutorial. I have a lot of leftover layer cake pieces, now I know what I’m going to do with them. Love the little baskets! ❤
Hi there! New sub here and I can’t wait to make these for my daughter’s in law for Mother’s Day! Thank you for the perfectly timed great idea! God bless!
Very cute and very useful!❤ So glad to see someone addressing the cutting of the batting and or felt 1/4” small on all sides. If you would like the bottom to be a little firmer you use a stiffer fusible piece just in the center (so that means cutting out a square and putting in the firmer piece there or you could make a decorative bottom for the inside of the basket.
I made a couple of these years ago and forgot how. I've been looking for instructions to make more recently so your tutorial was perfect timing. I used Soft & Stable instead of fleece in mine. I use it as a catchall for retreats and it holds its shape even after its been packed flat multiple times.
I have arthritus and got a hemostat to help me turn bowls holders. I love these baskets, thank you for the tutorial. I have so many leftover squares from other projects I can use. The tiny folds are cute, but I think they can be cut and french seamed. Do you think that would work, look ok?❤
Thank you so much Marsha, I really really enjoyed watching you take us all through making these cute and adorable little May baskets. I would also like to have watched you sewing too, but that’s not important. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too
How Cute! Thanks for this. I just made one and I used the same fabrics for both sides. I did straight line quilting 1/2" apart. It came out very nice. I think I'll make more. 😊
Thank you, I did enjoy your tutorial.. I am hoping I can adjust the pattern to make 3 of them in different sizes to make a 3 stack .. for a gift. Would appreciate any advise on how to do that. 🌻. Australia.
I love your idea of making a set of three. I would cut down the size of two squares to 8” and the third one 6”. Try that and see what you think. Please let me know how that goes.
I think I’ll make one & use the button. What is the finished size of the basket ? I want to keep it next to my machine as a thread catcher if it’s not too big.
I realize I repeated myself quite a bit. This was a Facebook Live that I did and we just posted the video after the live was over. I apologize for saying the same thing over and over. I’ll try and get a script together for my next one. I appreciate your feedback. Enjoy the project.
@@marshacowan5977 I made a few video and realized having even just having a simple outline keeps you on track. Thank you for the video- I going to make mother day gifts with the idea.
I can not believe that you could be so rude about how she explained the fleece! Did that make you feel like a bigger person? If it bugs you that much then don’t watch!
@@tobybishop5036 Well, instead of being a bitch you should have read the response, SHE appreciated it when she responded to me. Videography is not an easy skill and if people aren’t HONEST with them then they don’t learn. Obviously you on the boat of lying to people instead of being truthful.
@@tobybishop5036 Well if you weren’t being such a bitch about it, you would have seen she responded and appreciated the feedback and some advice I offered. Being HONEST with people is how they improve and get better but obvious you’re more in for lying to people and keeping them from improving.

Hope your friend is feeling better and loves your basket!!
Thanks for the reminder about sewing a couple stitches or so across a corner - I tend to forget this but it definitely does make a better corner!

Can you make larger ones ? What would your measurements be ? .
As long as it’s square any size will do. Such as 12 x 12, 15 x 15 etc.

Thank you Marsha this is an excellent tutorial and lovely way to use extra pieces of fabric from a layer cake.
The little inside pockets could be used for small scissors etc. so cute!

Sehr hübsch.
Der Stoff ist, wenn er gequiltet ist, sicher auch noch stabiler oder?
These are so cute! Thanks.
Love these. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the class blessings
What a cute idea!!
Hello so many helpful tip. Did you change your block you started with. You had cherry and flowers or did I miss something?
Love these! Thanks.
Good advice for crisp corners, take a couple backstitches there to reinforce the corner.
I think I’ll make one & use the button. What is the finished size of the basket ? I want to keep it next to my machine as a thread catcher if it’s not too big.
I’m going to make one to use as my key hold so I don’t put them down just anywhere!
I like to sew these but I always tack down the 4 little corners. It makes it more stable and they are mostly useless to hold anything.
love these baskets but your video is very blurry.
❤😊
Please introduce yourself at the beginning of your tutorial, very nice project

To much talking and showing different fabrics is very confusing
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry I was so confusing. I'll try and do better next time.
I’d rather like to see you sew instead of showing after you sewed.
Showing different fabrics is very confusing
Cute idea. - you spent nearly 2 minutes to say put a layer of adhesive fleece between layers of fabric. Maybe trying scripting a little bit first.
