      It absolutely was. It's been used since 1475. While language has changed quite a lot, one thing that remains true throughout history is our love for profanities.

      Whether it did or not, if u know anything about the show, you'd know it plainly states EVERY episode that it is a mostly fictional telling of Catherine's story. Specifically for entertainment.
      And if u don't know anything about it, u probably shouldn't make assumptions, u know what they say about assuming lol.
      It's also funny to me that u take an issue with a singular word but not the fact that it's set in Russia but no one speaks Russian. Lmao.
