- Just getting a new camera is fine, but how simple it is to setup determines if the camera actually gets used or abandoned.
This video is a full walkthrough of the setup process for the Wyze Cam V3. If you have had other Wyze products you know that it is very simple and fast to do. Wyze has even made improvements over the years from the setup process for the Wyze Cam V2 to the Wyze Cam V3. For anyone else having trouble SCANNING QR CODE, try putting your phone on AIRPLANE MODE. Worked for me 👍 Save yourself the headache.. "ready to connect..ready to connect.. ready to connect"
Nevermind, that only worked for the 1st camera I set up. This is just garbage.

With the V3 I was other wyze products I have had issues.

Yes, this needs wifi to work. The Wyze cam outdoor has a travel mode which does not need wifi if that is what you are looking for: ruclips.net/video/4686czvqF0o/видео.html

You haven't finished the complete setting yet, what a but motion setting? and testing if the motion detected to record the detected item ? my camera doesn't detect at all, is it defective?

I already tried everything to connect my Wyze Camera V3 but it didn’t work. The camera just don’t scan the QR code. Following the Wyze troubleshooting website, I sent the Wyze app QR screen to them via Twitter. I already tried a hard reset. Do you think I have a defective unit?
It does sound like a possibility. Do you have a screen protector on your phone?

Do you have a screen protector on the phone? Depending on the type it could interfere.

My Cam V3 keeping saying "Ready to connect" for couple of minutes and never finish connect it --I'm going to return it and buy another product that work.
Were you connecting to a 2.4ghz network? Also did you try moving it closer to your Wifi access point? Some times if just needs to be a little closer for setup.
in canada if you buy in amazon has no warranty
what is the longest USB cable you can use successfully? since there is no wireless way using solar or batteries - I need to run a cord about 50 ft.
To be honest I am not sure. But I don't see it as being an issue.

Why do you want a 50 ft USB cable for? Go buy a 50 ft long AC extension cord at Home Depot and plug your camera at the very end.
It says it doesn't connect to 5G networks so I wondering how do I figure that out is there a way
Your wifi at home can be 2.4ghz or 5ghz. If you have a wifi router that can have different names for 2.4 and 5, you would look the the name of the 2.4 option to connect to.

well that's stupid then.... Only the phone is on the WiFi. What if you leave home with your phone? Does the camera disconnect?? I need a camera for when.I leave to work
You are using the phone as a bridge during setup to get the camera on your home wifi. Once that is done the phone does not need to be around for the camera to work. You can be away from home and still view the camera feed.

Can I use this outside the US and view from my phone in the US ?
I can not say for sure as I have not tired myself, but in theory yes it should.
So I do need the base station? If so can one base station covers more than one cameras?
This is not required base station. It camera acts as a standalone device.

Yes, as long as you have the network name and password.

We just got this and it doesn’t work without being plugged into the wall. Is it supposed to be like that? It turns off when unplugged
Yes that is correct. The V3 needs to be plugged into a power source in order to work. If you are looking for one that will work without power I would recommend checking out the outdoor cam: ruclips.net/video/4686czvqF0o/видео.html.

I've got 3 Arlo cameras that will no longer be supported unless I pay a subscription fee. I want to avoid subscription fees. Will these be a good replacement without having to pay a subscription fee?
Honestly of the ones I have tested you are looking at eufy, or Reolink to have things like person detection without a subscription.

I already have mirco-usb wires running to my three arlo cameras (because I hated climbing on a ladder to recharge the batteries), so perhaps I could use existing micro-usb to power any new cameras. But, really I could re-route any new power lines to the wifi cameras if needed. Thank you.

@@brianw6645 With outdoor cameras I mostly have used eufy battery powered outdoor cameras like: amzn.to/3Jy3gQp, and amzn.to/3F7zHm0. As for reolink I have only used their indoor cameras, however, @lifehackster has done a lot of the reolink outdoor cameras. I have two of the original old school first model Wyze cameras and now two v3. 4 cameras total with the old ones still sending me notifications and the v3 won’t send me any notifications. They we all installed properly and they do work I just can’t get any notifications from the brand new v3. Any thoughts or ideas and yes the notification are turned on in the app.
Do you have motion zones setup? Have you increased the detection sensitivity? Are you using this with a campus subscription? Is the camera recording events and it is just not pushing the notification?

Everything was connecting great until I put the wrong password and I restarted all over again I connected it the red light flashes but it doesn’t say ready to connect no more after pressing setup
You might want to try powering it down for a few hours then blugging it back in and trying. Some times the memory of a device like this can act "oddly" and just needs a time out to collect itself.
It works only with USA numbers

Hey I see you're still responding to comments so I hope you can help me 😅. I got a v3 and got it setup perfectly with no issues. I just wanted to see if I could set it up so when I did I unplugged it and moved it to the location I wanted it in. All of a sudden it just doesn't connect to my wifi. I reset the v3 my phone and wifi and it still doesn't connect. Help?
How is the wifi signal where you moved the camera?
@@Wanderer001_Reviews_Clips it's really good I tested it. But after resetting my router a second time I found out the V3 ends up connecting again. But the problem reccures after I unplug the V3 and when on overnight. I have to keep resetting my router to just use the camera. Thoughts? Or any recommendations of other plug in cameras
@@VictorRodriguez-dv5vg Check for firmware update for the V3 make sure that it is up to date. Test having the camera over night closer to the main access point see if the same issue happens if it does could be a bad unit, if that is the case you could try for a replacement. If you don't want to go that road I have tested another brand eufy which I really like as well: ruclips.net/video/kOyVY5U7JAY/видео.html.
I am having trouble with the camera racing the QR code. What to I do?
Apple or android phone?
Pointed at the QR code and it should scan just fine. You may have to move the phone a little farther away from it forward to read it but it will read.
Never got it to scan code... Going on 4 months 15 different phones to test

Some times can be an issue if your phone has a screen protector. Try maxing out the screen brightness.
How to i view my cameras on my laptop ?
You can not. This camera will only work with app on your phone.

I had that problem and found that I couldn't turn off my phones 4g.. So I put it on Airplane made and it immediately connected.
Apparently it is because if u gave 5ghz wifi or whatever, it won't connect to it. Has to be not 5ghz. Isn't most speeds 5g? Ummm so this company needs to make it compatible cuz this is a pain and bs. Total bs. Doesn't scan code. Won't connect to wifi. Big epic FAIL ! returning the crap!

Are you trying to access 2.4ghz network or 5ghz? The camera will only work on the first.

The V3 does not have a base station it connection to your WiFi all on its own.
No can do QR scan, it's pre-made on screen. This sucks

I've had this happen too. To help it make that first initial connection I moved it closer to my Wi-Fi access point and made sure any devices that may be on Wi-Fi or disconnected during the setup process.

5ghz does have faster speeds but it also has shorter range and can not pass through wall as good as 2.4ghz can. I admit it would be nice to have the option for both, but then that would make this more expensive as well having to have the extra wifi antenna support.
“5g” isn’t the same as Ghz……
You’re trying to compare cellular speeds versus radio frequency bands. There is a huge difference. Do a little googling and educate yourself.

I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.
