Leonardo makes some of the most value-for-money offerings in the market. As soon as I saw their very first Leonardo, I bought one. It was a Momento Zero Horn. Do you remember it? Since that, I always carry an inked Leonardo with me.
Great quality fountain pens and very comfortable. I found no issues to this pens, indeed quite the opposite. I adore everything from this brand. Thank you Salvatore and Mariafransesca, and Appelboom, of course, for this video and the giveaway.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a primary manipulation second batch - such a unique pen. However the news of a line of faceted pens is what really excited me. So many of their colour suit themselves to a faceted design! That will be a must purchase!
I like Leonardo because of the aesthetics of the fountain pens plus they write amazingly. I also like how the family Matrone pursue their passion, which is very inspiring.

Thank you for the excellent interview video. I have seen a number of reviews of Leonardo pens and was impressed by the reviewers’ positive comments concerning the quality and workmanship of their writing instruments. To actually see and hear Mariafrancesca and Salvatore Matrone speak about the pens they make increased my desire greatly to own at least one. They love what they do! Each pen is checked and tested before leaving the factory to make sure it works properly. By their words, facial expressions and handling the pens like precious works of art; displays the pride they have in Leonardo pens. I believe I would be proud to own one even though I've only seen them on videos.

It's great to know so many details about the work of the company and its origins, I like that they are looking for just the right materials wherever they can find them.
Leonardo pens can make young people fall in love with manual writing, doodling and pens in general. The materials and design exude modern thinking, bravery in colour selection, and an overall coolness factor. They don't look like a relic of the past but a fun object and an actual useful tool. My favourite brand.

The first time I saw the Leonardo MZ, I was attracted by the awesome material and a little bit unsure with the unusual shape of the section. But when I try it in person, I was suprise by the comfort offered by this pen. It is clear that this pen was design by people who understand fountain pen people. The performance of Leo's nib is amazing. You're easily forget that you're writing with steel nib instead of the gold one. It is that great!
It is great to see a pen company innovating shape-wise and material-wise. More companies like Leonardo are needed in the market. Personally, I love their flakes resins ;)
It’s wonderful that they joined their father in the pen manufacturing business. It looks as though they went forward in innovative design and materials of the Leonardo brand. I currently do not have one of their pens and hopefully I will get one.
I think what I love about the fountain pen community is the infusion of heart and passion. Everyone, from Appelboom to Leonardo and designers and pen makers worldwide seem to share the love of writing with an instrument that conveys the lasting treasure of handwritten notes, letters, journals, and more. My father died decades ago; I have retired in 2017. Two handwritten letters of father, as well as handwritten notes of the university president are still my treasures. When we write from the heart we create treasures more often than we know.
Leonardo pens to me is an innovative brand that makes pens great pens for the price. Their designs are attractive and the features they offer are hard to beat in their price range. The value for money they offer is much better than the competition.
Another wonderful interview, Joost! I was a very early adopter of Leonardo pens and have well over a dozen in my collection now. The very reasonable pricing of their standard models, the consistent high quality of their pens and the wonderful choices of materials, and the affection of the owners for their retailers and end users has kept me a great Leonardo fan. I am excited to hear that they will be releasing new models with a #8 nib standard.
I think Leonardo represent combination of excellent craftsman skill, great design that offer comfort, and the beauty of modern material. All of it sculptured to this timeless design with great performance.

It seems to me that at the root of the Leonardo brand is familial tradition and appreciation for the craftsmanship of fine writing instruments. These values are beautifully translated into their finished products.
I love the care and history connected to Leonardo and Delta. I have only heard of wonderful feedback from people who have Leonardo pens including my own experience. Lovely writing instruments.
Salvatore’s green Momento Zero is beautiful. The material is amazing. I look forward to seeing the new line they will be releasing and all the new materials.
Leonardo's pens are one of my favorite brands with a very good quality price factor. I like the cleanliness of their forms. I think the cuspide and the Momento zero Grande are my favorite but also the furore grande is really nice.

I love the Leonardo brand! It is my favourite pen brand! I really liked Delta, but they were slowly going out of business around the time that I got into fountain pens (2016/2017). That was sad, because I did not get around to getting the Delta pens I really liked (like the Fusion 82, Journal and Dolcevita). When Leonardo popped up on the fountain pen scene, I was thrilled, because the design was reminiscent of Delta but still unique and fresh. And my God, the materials are amazing! When I first saw the Momento Zero in Positano Blue, I was in awe and knew I had to have one (I eventually did get one)! I had never seen that kind of material before. Leonardo consistently comes out with amazing new pens and materials. I would love to get a Momento Zero Grande! I find it great that they are using ebonite feeds and a true piston filler now!
Just like all of your past interviews, this was very interesting. I really enjoy watching all of your videos. The pens in this one look really amazing and the material it is really really nice.
Leonardo Officina Italiana for me are emotional and classic looking fountain pens. Unfortunately I had no chance to see any of their pens in real, so my observations are based on blog posts, RUclips videos and newsletters. I had the idea to buy one of their Momento Zero, but bad issues I had with Bock nibs held me down. Now knowing that they will go for Jowo nibs I think I may rethink about it.

Leonardo gives their own unique take on a classic mode of writing. Language is arguably the most important human invention. And beautiful language deserves to be expressed beautifly. These pens do this very well! I'd love to have one someday!

I think one of the greatest "features" of Leonardo Pens is the good value for money, the materials are always so fascinating and the pens write wonderfully out of the box.
Leonardo is one of my favorite brands. I like the Momento Zero and it is one of my favorite pens to write with. I ahve received compliments for my Momemto Zero in all black. It does remind me of the Delta Journal of which I own two in red and blue. You can appreciate the family tradition and dedication to the products Leonardo offers. To Mr. Appelboom I sincerely thank you for taking the time to present to us in the pen community the people behind the brand and for a good interview and introduction to the CEOs. I am looking forward for the next products as I am sure I will not be dissapointed.
My dad taught me everything I know about pens, I think they are a luxury not everyone understands. I loved this video, was super interesting and the pens look gorgeous! The material and the aesthetic is truly marvelous.

Leonardo produces some of the most beautiful finishes I have seen on fountain pens. And the simple elegance of the winged logo on Leonardo's nibs is a personal favorite.

Leonardo seems like a nice brand with pens in multiple price points and a variety of materials.
I like their collaboration with brooks, i had seen a brooks abalone momento zero grande with a #8 nib on IG and it was stunning. Hope to see more pens with larger nibs from them!

A thing I like in Italian pen companies in general is their dynamism, if one has to close, two spring up in their place. The other is their use so many beautiful materials, since I noticed Leonardo a couple of years ago, it feels like there hasn't a month gone by in which they didn't release a stunning new pen! I'm really curious about that new ebonite model, and that new filling mechanism! :)

Great video. I am looking to buy a Momento Zero in Positano finish. Maybe this will be my Xmas present, hehe. The brand is great, as all Italian brands. When I am asked what "pen nationality" I like the most, I always say Italian and Japanese!

Leonardo is a great and fresh addition to the market: unique shapes and unique colours, expertly executed. I only wish you guys offered more pens in celluloid. If you could pull off spina di pesce celluloid that would be a killer!

Really interesting video. I just love how this brand brought some new fresh air into the fountain pen game and they are now currently rolling with the biggest manufacturers! What I like about Leonardo Pens: They feel great in the hands, they write and I just love looking at them. It´s a mix of functionality and art. If they could just offer a medium cursive Italic then I would be in heaven.
