Adding this to my list. I agree ppl seem to be able to take in heavy topics better when it's put in somewhat of a "comic" presentation.

Don't sleep on the Verso Book Club membership (they also have Comrade and Partisan level memberships where you get more free e-books and even physical ones, but you don't get to choose what you're sent). But in the baseline Book Club membership, you pay a nominal monthly fee (something like $10 USD/month) and you get 50% off *everything* you order from the site. From what I'm seeing on my end, it's available in Canada, too. And if you want to rig the system (teehee), you can register for the membership, place a huge order, and then cancel as soon as you get your 50% discount. That's right, I'm that girl. Have a wonderful reading week!

Thanks so much for sharing this information! I had considered signing up for a membership but couldn't decide if it was worth the money. The Comrade and Partisan memberships initially sparked my interest but I worried about being sent books I wouldn't enjoy (I'm currently on a journey of decluttering my life including books!)
The baseline book club membership seems like it may be more what I'm looking for. Thanks for checking to see it's also available in Canada! And lol, at that girl! I support it - I may use the same technique and place a large order later this year.
And I hope you have a wonderful reading week yourself!! Thanks as always for the thoughtful comment!

Hello! Yes, I remember you commenting on one of my videos months ago, from what I remember you're doing your PhD someone in Canada and you also have a booktube channel.
That happens to me so often, where I come across a great video and then lose the channel lol. Welcome back!
Also, I would love to hear your thoughts on Martryr! when you read it!!

I finished Martyr! yesterday, and all at the same time I have so many thoughts and don’t know what to think about that book (mostly that ending!). What interview did you watch of the author? I’d love to hear him talk about the book.
I also appreciate novels that experiment as you called it; I often find myself describing books like Martyr! to be genre-bending. I think it really adds dimension to the story as well as the reading experience as a whole.

Yes I felt the exact same way after I finished (I thought about the ending all evening!) Genre bending is definitely how I would describe it - which I loved and found very refreshing. So glad to hear you finished it. I completely understand not knowing how to feel about it, but once you've had a chance to collect your thoughts I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
Here is a link to the interview I watched. It seems like Akbar and the interviewer are friends which made for a more personal (and I would say enjoyable) interview: ruclips.net/video/phLsOZVxrjY/видео.html
      Have a lovely day!
