I think it would be nice if stamina regenerated fast if you only use it up to a certain point, if you bring yourself to exhaustion, then it takes long. It reflects real life and It would allow people to use a little bit of stamina for ordinary things without a boring long wait. They also need to fix ptera's stamina, because it turned into a resting simulator, ptera relies too much on stamina to receive the same treatment as land animals. Contrary to Dondi's stupid argument, gliding through the entire map from a high point is not everything pteras do.

I started on V3, so, many steps after your first experience but, I agree, the game looks so much better and the mechanics are soooo much better than tailriding only. I loved legacy, but, also hated many things. like tailriding, no collision and so on. if you think about the progress, then it is pretty awesome. even if we are still far from a ready game and we all would like the updates more frequently in general tho, it's going in the right direction

@@Nølumøth01 thx again ♥ honestly, I quitt the isle after evrima was released. after more than a year of silence and "hope" they released that terrible game. only utah and teno and they were running half beneath the surface. I played about 5 hours and was so angry that I stopped playing for more than a year. in that time I bought PoT, played about 100 hours and was even more disappointed. these dinos couldn't (and still can't) even scent. what is a dino without scent? jeez mate, the immersion was gone immediately. not even talking about that terrible hud which you couldn't even turn off back then ^^ anyway, I returned with update 3 and after all the game made a lot of progress. within the year I was gone and also since. if I watch my first the isle videos, then I see such a difference in graphics, mechanics, features and so on. the only thing which is still poor, is the amount of dinos. but, I prefer slowly more dinos that are unique to many new dinos which feel the same. like they did in legacy. not all, but many.
@@da.mombie yeah it was the same by me ,they released something, just that the players had 2 unfinished dinos and 2 unfinished Animations but i came back some months later and noticed that it was slowly getting better but i played mainly legacy on the beginnining of evrima then it got better and i switched to evrima again ,yeah i bought PoT at this time too i was dissapointet that you need to collect "mushrooms" that you can grow that is such a stupid idea so i quitted like everything for some months and came back when Update 3.5 Released and played a little bit,now im happy that we get gateway now,maybe this game will be completely finished in some years ,i give it time and hope that the devs will make good work Anyway im happy that i found someone who is constantly uploading content and is always completely honest about the game ,keep it up❤️
@@Nølumøth01 I really think it will be good at the end. but, like you said, it will take many more years. they are a small team and let's be real, it's their first game ever. they have no experience at all and therefore also work very much in the typical trial-and-error style. after all they love their game tho. that's why I am so optimistic. they totally identify themselves with dinos and their game. you can feel this passion in every detail. they only lack on experience and manpower (to be more fast). but, they will keep going till the end. that's my biggest issue with PoT. I feel no love. no love for dinos and no love for us gamers. it feels like ubisoft. huge world, but no heart, no soul and the main reason is to earn money ^^
I just saw another's video on how to properly fly the Ptera. He made it from sealevel by water access to river delta with 50% stam remaining. Flying mechanics must be followed. I am going to give it a shot tonight. Gonna see if I can finally find a turtle, too 😁
tell me your experience then, pls. 'cause someone told me to watch a video of jjfajen. he also flew from swamp to the water access, caught a fish and so on. this video didn't impress me much tho. 'cause it just showed an optimized distance flight, but not the height in my opinion. I think you don't get more height with W and looking up. you just get a longer distance. means, if you nest on a tree and have to get sticks from the ground, then you won't be able to get more sticks up with W than with space. at least I think so and will try next time I play. this video is a little weird in general in my opinion. 'cause, it looks more impressive (stam wise) than it is. if you calculate the time incl. the 5x speed, then you see a perfectly optimized flight which still only lasts 11 minutes. not showing the 5 minutes you have to sit after those 11 ´minutes. even more, those 11 minutes are just 2-3 minutes if you are getting sticks up on a tree. so, to me this video doesn't show anything about regular gameplay. therefore again, would be nice to hear your experience with it
@@da.mombie I don't disagree that stam is wrong for ptera. You just said that it can't be done to fly to other side without multiple stops. If flying very conservative, it looks like you can fly longer. Nesting is a big problem for stam, for sure. I'm very new to the game and am looking for any way to make the ptera more playable. The waiting is punishing. They should also make it possible to eat fish while flying. Landing and eating is too draining, IMO.
I love videos usual❤. Lot of us that don’t have a lot of time to play games and when we do we don’t want to spend 30% of my time staring at a screen waiting to regain stamina when we could be playing the game waste of time spend most of the time at night, not being able to fly, and then the other half waiting for Stam😢😢
Yea this is already an issue.... My community for example, all of them hate this new stamina system, and it drives them going back to play Path of Titans.
maybe its just cause of how i manage stam, but i was able to fly from the coast to the highlands as a ptera using 1 stam bar and had about %25 left when i got there.
WHAT? you flew from the coast to the highlands without a stam break and had 25% left? how? that has nothing to do with stam management, that's just about height. did you find an upstream that doesn't make you need stam to get height? sry mate, that's hard to believe. how do you get height? with space? or W and looking up?
sitting vs standing stam regen on pt seems to be very similar rn the other animals when they sit the stam eventually goes up in big chunks but pt is locked at something like 0.3%stam per second
honestly, I never tested it out, but, I have that feeling for many dinos. also omni feels like there is no big difference between stand and sit. but, it's just my feeling, doesn't (and probably isn't) the truth
I feel like they should put a lot of AI on that island, so that players have a reason to swim across the sea for it, and they should add mosasaurus to the oceans

yeah, I don't have a big problem with the new stam with most other dinos. you can at least slow walk. but, ptera is really brutal. you've to sit still for 5 minutes straight. that's so boring :/ CPU: ryzen 9 5900X, GPU: RTX 3080, 32 GB RAM. of course it also depends on the company which put these things together. so, if you buy a medion PC with the same GPU and CPU it's still an awful PC. I really hate medion for their bad PCs anyway, I buy my PCs for 20 years at the same company meanwhile. they never let me down so far. www.hitech-gamer.com/startseite/. they just send within europe tho. BUT!!!! you should still compare, 'cause I don't think they are the cheapest ones. so, if you have a company you trust and which is cheaper or in range (your town), then of course, go for it. the reason why I don't compare prices is, this company is 15 minutes away from me. I know these mates quite long. so, if I ever have a problem (or want an update) on my PC, then it will be fixed within a day. I bring them my PC in the morning and get it back in the afternoon. which is something VERY important to me. 'cause I am in love with my PC and if I have to send it somewhere and wait a week or two till it returns, then I'll go crazy

normally I get that. specially with all the other dinos I never get my stam down that far. but, if I fly up a mountain, then it's as boring to have 5-6 shorter stam breaks as to have 2-3 longer ones. 'cause you don't get much height with a third of your stam.

ello ♥ like always, no hurry mate, I welcome you anytime. yeah, it's nice to have ptera on gateway, but, they have to adapt it. or maybe I have to adapt, can't even say yet
which brand do you have installed? none, evrima, or spiro? if you have evrima anyway, then you can also try to delete the save folder. you lose your skins and settings. but, it very often helps to fix problems. how to see which brand: right click on the isle in steam. then properties, betas and in the drop down menu you can see which one is activated and switch to evrima if necessary. how to find the save folder: first you have to find the appdata folder, here is how ruclips.net/video/_wQLMOQAkbQ/видео.html within that folder you go to local, the isle and in there is the saved folder. you can delete the whole folder. it will create a new one as soon as you start the game. but, like I said, you lose your skins and settings.
@@da.mombie I have a evrima, I tried what you said, I found local,data for the isle,and deleted everything from it haha 😅 But when I started game again,and tried to join in any server , in official It always says that they are full, but on in unofficial servers, I go in and see that undone texture of grass and then the game kick me out haha
@@liffabytton4ever jeez, that's bad. on the officials it often shows 97/100 and they are still full. best is to wait until one is 100/100, then you will come into the queue. but, if you get kicked as soon as you load in, then there is another problem, I guess. can't say which tho. which GPU do you have? did spiro run properly before?
@@da.mombie i have nvidia (intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz 1.19 GHz),and what about the OLD spiro all was good😚, i had a perfect ping and didnt have problems with it ,but when i went to evrima.. my overall ping and fps got down so bad.. i really hoping that thats because of development, but now in gateways when i tried first, my ping was the same as evrima..bad situation 😔 And i dont know where to ask about that,like brought a game, but cant normaly play it haha
@@liffabytton4ever sry to say, but, I don't think your specs will run this game properly again. old spiro was unreal engine 4. unreal engine 5 needs more power and further mechanics (like climbing) will make performance even worse than better. the game will be polished at the end. at that point performance should become significantly better. BUT, we are talking about in 3-4 years :/
LOVE that you can land on trees now!!!!!! All they need is to have NESTING/building nest and laying eggs in the trees the herra would have some more opportunity to eat eggs or baby ptreandons
Good video! are there any small holes or caves in that gateway where only small dinos can fit? I haven't played much gateway, so I don't know. if so they would be fun hiding places! for example for dryo.

true, every other dino can at least slow walk and get stam back. ptera is forced to sit still and loses so much stam every time you want to pass a mountain, a big structure or just a treeline. I really hope they will adapt that :/
I just learned this was done on purpose so that pteras can't be scouting drones for carnivores anymore. And that stam is intended to be managed much better with higher altitude slow gliding @@da.mombie
They intend to add thermal currents on top of large rocks that you can fly over without wasting stam to get higher! I saw footage of ptera being able to cross the map with half stam and reach the other side without losing it all, it makes sense because it's impossible to be a carnivore scout from that high, but if you want to fly low that's when you'll be using more stam @@da.mombie
I haven’t played as any other carnivores yet but haven’t had too much trouble with stam on herbivores. The ptera however, is just bad right now. I’ve actually encountered people on discord saying that it’s fine, though. Apparently I’m just doing it wrong. 🤷🏻♂️
I love how the devs FINALLY ad a good map to the game, but ruin the experience with the awful stamina regen and nightvision systems. Who in the everliving crap asked for the latter 2????????????? All of the small dinos gameplay is now heavily hindered, like dryo, ptera, omni and all herbivores, because they need stamina to attack or to run away...
honestly, I like the idea of the less stam. but, it is too much and has to be adapted for certain species at least. ptera is really brutally boring to play right now :/
@@da.mombie I don't like this idea at all. This is a game, not the real life. Players want a fast paced game, not a very slow and boring one, and who complained about this anyway? But if they MUST keep it for some reason than, yeah, adapt it for smaller dinos.
@@patrikresz2706 following is my vision, so, I have no idea what the devs vision of stam is. I would love this game to become regional. means tenos have food only around the swamp (or wherever), stegos in the highlands, pachy at the beach and so on. first of all, you would get a even more different experience with every dino. 'cause they feel different to play AND would have a different area. but, even more important, we wouldn't need to rush across the isle anymore. let's be real. the only reason why we rushed across spiro were other player. northwest? nobody here? let's sprint to the center. nobody here? lets sprint to the swamp and so on. all these running fast from a to b had one reason only. finding others to herd or fight with. if tenos are always at the swamp, then you have no need to rush. if you are a teno, then you'll find other tenos there. if your prey is teno, then you will find it there without a stego covering it. yes, herbs would be tied to an area, but, that's also something which makes trying different dinos more attractive on the long run. carni on the other hand can choose where to go today. with a pretty high chance of finding the prey they want and don't have to fight whatever comes along. I didn't like the old stam in terms of, we are 3 omnis, pounce like crazy, one keeps the prey busy and two fall back for a minute and get all their stam back. that's ridiculous. but, also for a stego. I swing like crazy, 'cause I just have to stand still for a few moments in between to get enough stam to keep swinging like crazy. the new stam forces you to be more aware in fights. which is good in my opinion. it's just pretty bad for finding other players. specially right now, 'cause nobody knows the map, everyone is everywhere and we don't have real hotspots by now. on the long run and with that regional gameplay in mind, I see a lot of potential tho. that said, this doesn't mean the new stam is perfect the way it is now. it has to be WAY more adapted.
@@da.mombie you do have good points on everything, but you can literally (in my opinion) starve to death if you don't run, can't you? you know it better than me, tho. That said, the game has just become much more boring in my opinion, but I don't play evrima anymore, anyway, so I can't care too much (until the performance is fixed). The fight points were the best, especially for omni, not so much for stego tho, since you can just run away from it (most of the times).
I so agree as with little time don’t wanna spend 40% of our gameplay, sitting, staring at a screen waiting for stam regain!! it’s like such a waste of time. I’d rather be playing the game and staring at my screen.
herra will add for sure some spice to ptera's life. I really hope they will have a chance to strike back. tree fights between herra and ptera would be awesome
Taking that long to recover stam and the night vision being basically unusable is going to turn a lot of players off. That first skin was gorgeous. Thanks for another wonderful journey thru The Isle.

The stamina is now not so great, night vision still needs adjustments, some map parts are buggy and not finished, sanctuary maybe a good idea but totally not good in implementation. At least there are some stuff to explore but still not makes me want to play more often.
I'm quite happy with all the changes. the map, the migration zones, sanctuaries and the new stam. but, each of them has to be adapted further. all of them are not satisfying right now. still, I like the direction they are going. it's just a little mess right now. like almost everything they introduced so far. diet was a mess at the start and so was nesting. even gore was a mess with buggy organs which are still around btw ^^
I still can’t fathom why ptera can’t take off from water. You would think that would be a no brainer for a flyer who’s always in close proximity to water

Finally released! 🥳 But for some reasons im not excited as i expected. I was having fun in gateway stress test, its true. It was a blast exploring new map and trying out everything that new. But after probably a week trying it out, i feel like its gonna be pain in the ass playing evrima nowadays. One thing that really turn me down is the pace of the game. Now that stamina systems is reworked, i feel like the gameplay itself will be so slow, everything feels so slow, its so boring to be honest. I dont want my precious time playing a game wasted just to refill my stams for God's sake 😂. And no new dino coming up either, not even hererra 😭 Gonna try evrima again if they fix the stam systems or bringing new dino in the game, for now im going back playing Path of Titans with their janky mechanics 😂
yeah, the new stam is kind of too much. in general I like the idea tho, it just has to be much more adapted. specially for certain dinos like ptera. but, I'm pretty sure they will adapt that again and that I will see you again on the isle. at least I hope so. till then, I wish you all the best in PoT ♥
I really can not complain. I overall enjoy the new update. This time I tend more to "defend" this decision, because I think it is still work in progress and definitively leading to somewhere. Most species movement feels more weightful now, as they should be. Stego chasing you is now punished. Others had been hit too harsh (like ptera; most stuff cost too much stam). Most people complaining seem to me that they still tend to deplete their stam completely. This was the first thing I noticed in the new update to avoid. You being punished for depleting ur stam. I only had to adapt my playstlye slightly and seem to struggle less than others, since I was mostly playing solo and always kept a minimum of stam (even in spiro). It is only an assumption of mine atm, but I think this change means to incentivize you to not exhaust your specimen all the time ;) You really notice if you compare your stam rate with other pteras you are traveling with. The different approaches do really show! At first I had to figure it out myself, and had less stam compared to one who took their time to take circles. Now I "optimized" or got the feel for it and got most of the time over 55% or even 60% stam, while others having started with me full stam, had below 40%. I do not want to say it is a "skill issue", but I think you just need to take your time and be more aware of the way you navigate.
@@Chareidos Its not that i hate the new update or anything, the gateway is just so damn good! But i feel like, now everything is so slow paced. Imagine you only got 2 hours a day to play a game, and you just spent half of it to regen your stams. Also PVP becoming so so tiring now and not enjoyable anymore when you go solo, though i rarely go solo anymore, but i do play solo sometimes, and Its so boring spent every 5-10 minutes to regen your stam without anyone to talk to. I do really like the idea of the new stamina system, but it is just too much, majority of people don't like them, actually all my friends complain about it 😂. I still having fun playing as Cera though, but when i want to play as Deino or Omni, i got so much hard time. The purpose of the game is when we enjoy playing it, right? But for right now, i really don't find any enjoyment playing evrima 😫 And i realize i have played the isle for 7 years..... 7 YEARS 😅 only this time i find it so hesitant to play the Isle because of the new stams system. It just too much in my opinion.

But considering some very extreme unpleasant reactions to it, I think a lot of those complaints come from people who only see it from a certain perspective on the game and do not see the other part of players (there are many playstyles). And I can say the difference in experience are enorm. But most even did not try another way! I only got one general advice and repeat it, since this is how I got to enjoy the game. Do not waste your stamina! :D A full pool is not an invitation to deplete it. Just try it, make more frequent short rests, walk more and do not run all the time and after that you will see it from the other perspective. I noticed most critique be more averaged out and less condemning to the new system after playing it with different species. I do not know who is in the majority. Many who enjoy it as it is, tend to keep to play and do not comment, you know? And there are also a lot of people more "average" on their opinion, see the point, whether they like it or not.
nice, how does it run on the 2060? do you play 4k or 2k? I am just curious, because people often asked me which GPU they need at least and I mostly said the 2070. so, I would love to know if I can say the 2060 in the future

Was super exited to play on gateway map. explore the map with the ptera. BUT, i don't wanna wait all the time in daylight cause nothing can be seen in nighttime. other dinos have better nightvision than petra. The stamina thing is just plain stupid. i know they are going for realism. but it's still a game. it's going from moving prey to nice sitting platin plate meal. most people woulnd't even know they are dead until they tab back in game to move on, cause who want to sit and look at nothing for 5 min? you can't even fill your belly with fish with current stamina drain. everytime you take flight you take such a big portion of the stamina, that it doesn't even make any sense. you fishing for 2 min wait 5 then 2 more min, to rest again. before you can move on. i'm waiting to play again until they fix their "fixes"

It’s weird how they nerfed stam on ptera after gateway dropped, like how are you gonna take 2 YEARS to make a map for us to explore when you make it so we have poor night vision and little to no stam and stam regen

I tried using ptera but found myself always having to wait for stam i cant believe they have done this to stamina. way to ruin your game good job devs. they should rename the game to sitting simulator.

I was so disappointed playing ptera on gateway the stamina really sucked the fun out of it and then not being able to see anything at night again ... Thats so silly you found a whole herd of ai tenos on those islands! I was able to find crabs and turtles there but nothing else. I've also never seen the lights on that bridge before!
someone told me about a dondi stream. where he said that they want prevent pteras from scouting for other players. they want to add upstreams (thermal winds) to be able to cross the whole map with less to no stam. so, you can cross and reach other areas, but can't scan areas like a satellite. which sounds interesting to me BUT, I really hate that they don't inform us properly. if they write that in the patch note, the devblog or a roadmap, then everyone knows the reason and at least I would have a different mindset when I play the first time with that less stam this way tho, our first reaction is anger. even reasonable in my opinion ^^ yeah, I never was in that area before. the lights look great at night. like a landing strip
@@da.mombie Hmm I have mixed feelings about that. I like the idea of preventing people from scouting, but one of my fav things to do as ptera is just watch other players and whats going on on the island. The thermal updrafts sound very cool though, I look forward to that!

@@maciekhg feedback and data. the game is in development. they have heatmaps and stuff like this to see how certain changes effect the gameplay. if and how players adapt. you can't do or see that in one day. all these datas can be used to optimize the gaming experience on the long run. 'cause our subjective feelings aren't always the truth. sometimes it's also a, no, I don't like it 'cause I am not used to it. which is something very human
Gateway kam raus, ich hab es mir angeschaut und seit dem nicht mehr gespielt. Das ist mir zu blöd mit der Ausdauer. Ich war nie einer, der von A nach B gerannt ist um dann kurz im Busch zu hocken und zu regenerieren. Aber das was die jetzt gemacht haben.. ne danke. Das ganze Migration System ist, in meinen Augen, genauso eine Fehlplanung. Sie wollten keine Hotspots mehr? Fanden es doof, das sich alle Spieler immer nur an den selben orten versammeln? Die Migration Zone ist genau das selbe wie Center, NW usw. Nur das sie halt jetzt wandert. Aber am Ende hast man genauso einen Punkt, wo alle Herbis hin rennen weil es da was zu fressen gibt und die Carnis folgen natürlich. Haste halt jetzt ein wanderndes NW oder Center. Dann natürlich wieder die tollen Aussagen der Entwickler bezüglich der Ausdauer: "don't sprint everywhere" (glaube die Aussage kam von Punch) oder Dondi mit seinem (frei übersetzt) "wenn es dir nicht passt hau ab". Sieht man genug davon im Discord oder auf Reddit. So vieles wurde während des Stresstest angesprochen und nichts wurde geändert oder angepasst. Klar es ist ihr Spiel und sie können damit machen was sie wollen. Als guter Entwickler allerdings, nimmst du dir Anregungen und Ideen der Com aber zu Herzen und versuchst, einen Weg zu finden der vielleicht nicht alle in der Com glücklich macht, aber zumindest so viele wie möglich. Genauso diese Sanctuarys. An sich eine gute Idee, verkommen aber leider zu einer Babu Deathmatch Arena. Ich habe mal auf nem leeren Com Server versucht, als Stego zu spielen. Gespawnt, geschnuppert und ab Richtung Sanctuary. Nach ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten dauer Sprint und 2 mal Gras fressen, kam ich dann an und hab mich sofort über die Pilze hergemacht. Nach meinem 9 oder 10 Pilz, waren meine Diäten NICHT voll, hatte also keinen 50% Bonus, aber mein Stego war schon groß genug, um dann Sumac, Kürbisse und Co. zu fressen. Und er war nicht mal auf 20% Größe angewachsen. War für mich dann so das Gefühl: "warum bin ich hier jetzt eigentlich hin gelaufen wenn ich nach ein paar Minuten eh wieder gehen kann?" Also ich weiß nicht...
in meinen augen hören sie sehr wohl auf die community. aber diese ist nun mal gespalten bis zum geht nicht mehr. die einen wollen PVP, die anderen realismus, wieder andere nur mit ihren freunden abhängen und manche wollen gar ein PVE spiel im coop style. selbst in den einzelnen gruppen gibt es keinen konsens. manche PVP spieler wollen das omni einen rex mit genug skills im 1vs1 bezwingen kann. für andere geht das gar nicht und so weiter. also, was immer die machen, 70% sind unzufrieden. weil es für nichts eine mehrheit gibt. mir haben leute gesagt sie spielen immer noch legacy, weil die dinos in evrima zu schnell laufen und das so unnatürlich ist. viele lieben das neue stam system. andere hassen es. aber mal ehrlich, gibst du ihnen feedback auf discord? also ich nicht. mein feedback sind meine kommentare. ich persönlich lese nicht ob irgendwer, irgendwo, irgendwas über mich schreibt. das selbe zählt für die devs. ihr feedback ist deren discord und viele leute (gruppen) sind dort sehr aktiv um ihre wünsche kund zu tun. diese müssen jedoch nicht unbedingt den unseren oder wie gesagt nicht mal den wünschen der mehrheit entsprechen. ich finde die migration zone super. die hotspots waren/sind ein spieler ding. egal welche map die devs bis jetzt hervorgebracht hatten, spieler, allen voran PVP spieler, haben einen platz gefunden wo sie sich treffen. das kann man nicht bekämpfen. hat man ja bei der diet gesehen. die war ja auch dafür gedacht die einzelnen dinos besser über die karte zu verstreuen. hat nicht funktioniert, weil es uns egal war und wir trotz keiner diet dort mit pachy zum northwest hotspot sind. die migration zone soll das auch gar nicht verhindern in meinen augen. aber sie macht diese punkte flexible. dass es eben nicht immer nur der northwest wasserfall und das center sind. ich will auch keinen safe place für mein juvie. ich will eine kleine juvie kampf arena. der preis ist perfect diet. man muss ja nicht hingehen. man kann ja auch als frischling seine diet normal bekommen. auch wenn das momentan noch ein wenig tricky ist. ich geb dir allerdings völlig recht mit der distanz. die sind viel zu weit weg von den spawn areas. aber so weit ich weiß, sollen viel mehr von den sanctuaries kommen und ich hoffe dass am ende bei jeder spawn area eines in der nähe ist. momentan ist halt alles neu und auch noch buggy. die migration zone springt ja manchmal wie wild hin und her und so weiter. aber ich finde den weg den sie gehen schon in ordnung. auch stam ist wahrscheinlich zu brutal geändert worden. aber, dass kann sich ja wieder ändern. wir kennen sie ja. das kann im nächsten update schon wieder alles ganz anderes aussehen
thx mate ♥ sounds bad. yeah, in terms of performance it's pretty disappointing. but, people told me today it helps to delete the save folder. I didn't try so far, but, you should try if you didn't already. it may help
in general I like the idea. to me it's just the worst possible timing (new map = we want explore) and probably just too much. or has to be further adapted for certain dinos at least. but, I never liked that 3 omni can attack you all in, two fall back while one keeps you on your feet and about a minute later two omni were fully recovered back. or that a stego can swing like crazy, 'cause it just has to stand still for a few moments to have enough stam back to keep swinging like there is no tomorrow. but, it feels like from one extreme into the other
I hope the change the stam for ptera. Also, i think the an aviary has an interior now
yeah, they really have to adapt the stam with ptera somehow. to go up a mountain means 10-20 minutes sitting still. that's ridiculous ^^

I understand the reason behind the stamina debuff but they made it way too punishing. Specially if you're starving.
I also like the idea behind, but, like you said, it's kind of too much. my bigger problem is the timing tho. everyone wants to explore the new map. nobody knows the spots and ways to go. so, right now it's even more punishing. why don't they change it in 2-3 month? everyone would be familiar with the map and it would be way more easy to adapt in my opinion. so, good idea at the worst possible time

I think it would be nice if stamina regenerated fast if you only use it up to a certain point, if you bring yourself to exhaustion, then it takes long. It reflects real life and It would allow people to use a little bit of stamina for ordinary things without a boring long wait.
They also need to fix ptera's stamina, because it turned into a resting simulator, ptera relies too much on stamina to receive the same treatment as land animals. Contrary to Dondi's stupid argument, gliding through the entire map from a high point is not everything pteras do.
Stamina regeneration could be buffed while sitting since you cant regenerate stamina by trotting anymore, I think it would be nice
yeah, I like the idea behind less stam in general. but, they went too far and have to compensate it somehow. like buffing the regen while sitting as you said. or anything else, but, right now it's too much of sitting still :/

I started on V3, so, many steps after your first experience but, I agree, the game looks so much better and the mechanics are soooo much better than tailriding only. I loved legacy, but, also hated many things. like tailriding, no collision and so on. if you think about the progress, then it is pretty awesome. even if we are still far from a ready game and we all would like the updates more frequently in general tho, it's going in the right direction

@@Nølumøth01 thx again ♥ honestly, I quitt the isle after evrima was released. after more than a year of silence and "hope" they released that terrible game. only utah and teno and they were running half beneath the surface. I played about 5 hours and was so angry that I stopped playing for more than a year. in that time I bought PoT, played about 100 hours and was even more disappointed. these dinos couldn't (and still can't) even scent. what is a dino without scent? jeez mate, the immersion was gone immediately. not even talking about that terrible hud which you couldn't even turn off back then ^^ anyway, I returned with update 3 and after all the game made a lot of progress. within the year I was gone and also since. if I watch my first the isle videos, then I see such a difference in graphics, mechanics, features and so on. the only thing which is still poor, is the amount of dinos. but, I prefer slowly more dinos that are unique to many new dinos which feel the same. like they did in legacy. not all, but many.
@@da.mombie yeah it was the same by me ,they released something, just that the players had 2 unfinished dinos and 2 unfinished Animations but i came back some months later and noticed that it was slowly getting better but i played mainly legacy on the beginnining of evrima then it got better and i switched to evrima again ,yeah i bought PoT at this time too i was dissapointet that you need to collect "mushrooms" that you can grow that is such a stupid idea so i quitted like everything for some months and came back when Update 3.5 Released and played a little bit,now im happy that we get gateway now,maybe this game will be completely finished in some years ,i give it time and hope that the devs will make good work

@@Nølumøth01 I really think it will be good at the end. but, like you said, it will take many more years. they are a small team and let's be real, it's their first game ever. they have no experience at all and therefore also work very much in the typical trial-and-error style.
after all they love their game tho. that's why I am so optimistic. they totally identify themselves with dinos and their game. you can feel this passion in every detail. they only lack on experience and manpower (to be more fast). but, they will keep going till the end.
that's my biggest issue with PoT. I feel no love. no love for dinos and no love for us gamers. it feels like ubisoft. huge world, but no heart, no soul and the main reason is to earn money ^^
I just saw another's video on how to properly fly the Ptera. He made it from sealevel by water access to river delta with 50% stam remaining. Flying mechanics must be followed. I am going to give it a shot tonight. Gonna see if I can finally find a turtle, too 😁
tell me your experience then, pls. 'cause someone told me to watch a video of jjfajen. he also flew from swamp to the water access, caught a fish and so on. this video didn't impress me much tho. 'cause it just showed an optimized distance flight, but not the height in my opinion.
I think you don't get more height with W and looking up. you just get a longer distance. means, if you nest on a tree and have to get sticks from the ground, then you won't be able to get more sticks up with W than with space. at least I think so and will try next time I play.
this video is a little weird in general in my opinion. 'cause, it looks more impressive (stam wise) than it is. if you calculate the time incl. the 5x speed, then you see a perfectly optimized flight which still only lasts 11 minutes. not showing the 5 minutes you have to sit after those 11 ´minutes. even more, those 11 minutes are just 2-3 minutes if you are getting sticks up on a tree. so, to me this video doesn't show anything about regular gameplay. therefore again, would be nice to hear your experience with it
@@da.mombie I don't disagree that stam is wrong for ptera. You just said that it can't be done to fly to other side without multiple stops. If flying very conservative, it looks like you can fly longer.
Nesting is a big problem for stam, for sure.
I'm very new to the game and am looking for any way to make the ptera more playable. The waiting is punishing.
They should also make it possible to eat fish while flying. Landing and eating is too draining, IMO.

maybe its just cause of how i manage stam, but i was able to fly from the coast to the highlands as a ptera using 1 stam bar and had about %25 left when i got there.

sitting vs standing stam regen on pt seems to be very similar rn
the other animals when they sit the stam eventually goes up in big chunks but pt is locked at something like 0.3%stam per second
honestly, I never tested it out, but, I have that feeling for many dinos. also omni feels like there is no big difference between stand and sit. but, it's just my feeling, doesn't (and probably isn't) the truth
I feel like they should put a lot of AI on that island, so that players have a reason to swim across the sea for it, and they should add mosasaurus to the oceans

yeah, I don't have a big problem with the new stam with most other dinos. you can at least slow walk. but, ptera is really brutal. you've to sit still for 5 minutes straight. that's so boring :/
CPU: ryzen 9 5900X, GPU: RTX 3080, 32 GB RAM. of course it also depends on the company which put these things together. so, if you buy a medion PC with the same GPU and CPU it's still an awful PC. BUT!!!! you should still compare, 'cause I don't think they are the cheapest ones. so, if you have a company you trust and which is cheaper or in range (your town), then of course, go for it. the reason why I don't compare prices is, this company is 15 minutes away from me. I know these mates quite long. so, if I ever have a problem (or want an update) on my PC, then it will be fixed within a day. I bring them my PC in the morning and get it back in the afternoon. which is something VERY important to me. 'cause I am in love with my PC and if I have to send it somewhere and wait a week or two till it returns, then I'll go crazy

normally I get that. specially with all the other dinos I never get my stam down that far. but, if I fly up a mountain, then it's as boring to have 5-6 shorter stam breaks as to have 2-3 longer ones. 'cause you don't get much height with a third of your stam.

which brand do you have installed? none, evrima, or spiro? if you have evrima anyway, then you can also try to delete the save folder. you lose your skins and settings. but, it very often helps to fix problems.
how to see which brand: right click on the isle in steam. then properties, betas and in the drop down menu you can see which one is activated and switch to evrima if necessary.
how to find the save folder: first you have to find the appdata folder, here is how ruclips.net/video/_wQLMOQAkbQ/видео.html within that folder you go to local, the isle and in there is the saved folder. you can delete the whole folder. it will create a new one as soon as you start the game. but, like I said, you lose your skins and settings.

But when I started game again,and tried to join in any server , in official It always says that they are full, but on in unofficial servers, I go in and see that undone texture of grass and then the game kick me out haha

@@da.mombie i have nvidia (intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz 1.19 GHz),and what about the OLD spiro all was good😚, i had a perfect ping and didnt have problems with it ,but when i went to evrima.. my overall ping and fps got down so bad.. i really hoping that thats because of development, but now in gateways when i tried first, my ping was the same as evrima..bad situation 😔 And i dont know where to ask about that,like brought a game, but cant normaly play it haha
@@liffabytton4ever sry to say, but, I don't think your specs will run this game properly again. old spiro was unreal engine 4. unreal engine 5 needs more power and further mechanics (like climbing) will make performance even worse than better. the game will be polished at the end. at that point performance should become significantly better. BUT, we are talking about in 3-4 years :/

Hopefully they fix Ptera's stam, unlike other dinos that can walk places, ptera does all its traveling by flying
true, every other dino can at least slow walk and get stam back. ptera is forced to sit still and loses so much stam every time you want to pass a mountain, a big structure or just a treeline. I really hope they will adapt that :/
I just learned this was done on purpose so that pteras can't be scouting drones for carnivores anymore. And that stam is intended to be managed much better with higher altitude slow gliding

They intend to add thermal currents on top of large rocks that you can fly over without wasting stam to get higher! I saw footage of ptera being able to cross the map with half stam and reach the other side without losing it all, it makes sense because it's impossible to be a carnivore scout from that high, but if you want to fly low that's when you'll be using more stam @@da.mombie

I haven’t played as any other carnivores yet but haven’t had too much trouble with stam on herbivores. The ptera however, is just bad right now. I’ve actually encountered people on discord saying that it’s fine, though. Apparently I’m just doing it wrong. 🤷🏻♂️

I love how the devs FINALLY ad a good map to the game, but ruin the experience with the awful stamina regen and nightvision systems. Who in the everliving crap asked for the latter 2????????????? All of the small dinos gameplay is now heavily hindered, like dryo, ptera, omni and all herbivores, because they need stamina to attack or to run away...

I would love this game to become regional. means tenos have food only around the swamp (or wherever), stegos in the highlands, pachy at the beach and so on.
first of all, you would get a even more different experience with every dino. 'cause they feel different to play AND would have a different area.
but, even more important, we wouldn't need to rush across the isle anymore.
let's be real. the only reason why we rushed across spiro were other player. northwest? nobody here? let's sprint to the center. nobody here? lets sprint to the swamp and so on. all these running fast from a to b had one reason only. finding others to herd or fight with.
if tenos are always at the swamp, then you have no need to rush. if you are a teno, then you'll find other tenos there. if your prey is teno, then you will find it there without a stego covering it. yes, herbs would be tied to an area, but, that's also something which makes trying different dinos more attractive on the long run.
carni on the other hand can choose where to go today. with a pretty high chance of finding the prey they want and don't have to fight whatever comes along.
I didn't like the old stam in terms of, we are 3 omnis, pounce like crazy, one keeps the prey busy and two fall back for a minute and get all their stam back. that's ridiculous. but, also for a stego. I swing like crazy, 'cause I just have to stand still for a few moments in between to get enough stam to keep swinging like crazy. the new stam forces you to be more aware in fights. which is good in my opinion. it's just pretty bad for finding other players. specially right now, 'cause nobody knows the map, everyone is everywhere and we don't have real hotspots by now. on the long run and with that regional gameplay in mind, I see a lot of potential tho.
that said, this doesn't mean the new stam is perfect the way it is now. it has to be WAY more adapted.
@@da.mombie you do have good points on everything, but you can literally (in my opinion) starve to death if you don't run, can't you? you know it better than me, tho. That said, the game has just become much more boring in my opinion, but I don't play evrima anymore, anyway, so I can't care too much (until the performance is fixed). The fight points were the best, especially for omni, not so much for stego tho, since you can just run away from it (most of the times).

The stamina is now not so great, night vision still needs adjustments, some map parts are buggy and not finished, sanctuary maybe a good idea but totally not good in implementation. At least there are some stuff to explore but still not makes me want to play more often.
I'm quite happy with all the changes. the map, the migration zones, sanctuaries and the new stam. but, each of them has to be adapted further. all of them are not satisfying right now. still, I like the direction they are going. it's just a little mess right now. like almost everything they introduced so far. diet was a mess at the start and so was nesting. even gore was a mess with buggy organs which are still around btw ^^
I still can’t fathom why ptera can’t take off from water. You would think that would be a no brainer for a flyer who’s always in close proximity to water
yeah, I also would love ptera to be able to start from the water surface :/
My best guess is that it’s to give deinos the chance to grab a ptera that’s crashed into the water

But for some reasons im not excited as i expected. I was having fun in gateway stress test, its true. It was a blast exploring new map and trying out everything that new.
But after probably a week trying it out, i feel like its gonna be pain in the ass playing evrima nowadays. One thing that really turn me down is the pace of the game.
Now that stamina systems is reworked, i feel like the gameplay itself will be so slow, everything feels so slow, its so boring to be honest. I dont want my precious time playing a game wasted just to refill my stams for God's sake 😂. And no new dino coming up either, not even hererra 😭
Gonna try evrima again if they fix the stam systems or bringing new dino in the game, for now im going back playing Path of Titans with their janky mechanics 😂
yeah, the new stam is kind of too much. in general I like the idea tho, it just has to be much more adapted. specially for certain dinos like ptera. but, I'm pretty sure they will adapt that again and that I will see you again on the isle. at least I hope so. till then, I wish you all the best in PoT ♥
I really can not complain. I overall enjoy the new update. This time I tend more to "defend" this decision, because I think it is still work in progress and definitively leading to somewhere.
Most species movement feels more weightful now, as they should be. Stego chasing you is now punished. Others had been hit too harsh (like ptera; most stuff cost too much stam).
Most people complaining seem to me that they still tend to deplete their stam completely. This was the first thing I noticed in the new update to avoid. You being punished for depleting ur stam. I only had to adapt my playstlye slightly and seem to struggle less than others, since I was mostly playing solo and always kept a minimum of stam (even in spiro).
It is only an assumption of mine atm, but I think this change means to incentivize you to not exhaust your specimen all the time ;)
You really notice if you compare your stam rate with other pteras you are traveling with. The different approaches do really show!
At first I had to figure it out myself, and had less stam compared to one who took their time to take circles. Now I "optimized" or got the feel for it and got most of the time over 55% or even 60% stam, while others having started with me full stam, had below 40%.
I do not want to say it is a "skill issue", but I think you just need to take your time and be more aware of the way you navigate.
@@Chareidos Its not that i hate the new update or anything, the gateway is just so damn good! But i feel like, now everything is so slow paced. Imagine you only got 2 hours a day to play a game, and you just spent half of it to regen your stams. Also PVP becoming so so tiring now and not enjoyable anymore when you go solo, though i rarely go solo anymore, but i do play solo sometimes, and Its so boring spent every 5-10 minutes to regen your stam without anyone to talk to.
I do really like the idea of the new stamina system, but it is just too much, majority of people don't like them, actually all my friends complain about it 😂. I still having fun playing as Cera though, but when i want to play as Deino or Omni, i got so much hard time. The purpose of the game is when we enjoy playing it, right? But for right now, i really don't find any enjoyment playing evrima 😫
And i realize i have played the isle for 7 years..... 7 YEARS 😅 only this time i find it so hesitant to play the Isle because of the new stams system. It just too much in my opinion.

But considering some very extreme unpleasant reactions to it, I think a lot of those complaints come from people who only see it from a certain perspective on the game and do not see the other part of players (there are many playstyles).
And I can say the difference in experience are enorm. But most even did not try another way!
I only got one general advice and repeat it, since this is how I got to enjoy the game. Do not waste your stamina! :D
A full pool is not an invitation to deplete it.
Just try it, make more frequent short rests, walk more and do not run all the time and after that you will see it from the other perspective. I noticed most critique be more averaged out and less condemning to the new system after playing it with different species.
I do not know who is in the majority. Many who enjoy it as it is, tend to keep to play and do not comment, you know? And there are also a lot of people more "average" on their opinion, see the point, whether they like it or not.

Was super exited to play on gateway map. explore the map with the ptera. BUT, i don't wanna wait all the time in daylight cause nothing can be seen in nighttime. other dinos have better nightvision than petra. The stamina thing is just plain stupid. i know they are going for realism. but it's still a game. it's going from moving prey to nice sitting platin plate meal. most people woulnd't even know they are dead until they tab back in game to move on, cause who want to sit and look at nothing for 5 min? you can't even fill your belly with fish with current stamina drain. everytime you take flight you take such a big portion of the stamina, that it doesn't even make any sense. you fishing for 2 min wait 5 then 2 more min, to rest again. before you can move on.
i'm waiting to play again until they fix their "fixes"
understandable. in my opinion the new stam is a good thing, but, it arrived at the worst time possible. we all want to explore and nobody knows the ways and places to go by now. so, it feels even more punishing. also, they have to adapt it further. it feels like a little too much of a change and specially certain things have to be changed. like fishing and many more. I'm quite positive that it will turn out well on teh long run, right now tho, it's pretty annoying to play some dinos like ptera :/

It’s weird how they nerfed stam on ptera after gateway dropped, like how are you gonna take 2 YEARS to make a map for us to explore when you make it so we have poor night vision and little to no stam and stam regen
I understand and support the idea of less stam. but, it's the worst possible timing. like you said, we all want to explore the new map. so, it feels even worse right now. they should have come up with it in about 2-3 month imo :/
I tried using ptera but found myself always having to wait for stam i cant believe they have done this to stamina. way to ruin your game good job devs. they should rename the game to sitting simulator.

I was so disappointed playing ptera on gateway the stamina really sucked the fun out of it and then not being able to see anything at night again ... Thats so silly you found a whole herd of ai tenos on those islands! I was able to find crabs and turtles there but nothing else. I've also never seen the lights on that bridge before!
someone told me about a dondi stream. where he said that they want prevent pteras from scouting for other players. they want to add upstreams (thermal winds) to be able to cross the whole map with less to no stam. so, you can cross and reach other areas, but can't scan areas like a satellite. which sounds interesting to me BUT, I really hate that they don't inform us properly. if they write that in the patch note, the devblog or a roadmap, then everyone knows the reason and at least I would have a different mindset when I play the first time with that less stam this way tho, our first reaction is anger. even reasonable in my opinion ^^ yeah, I never was in that area before. the lights look great at night. like a landing strip
@@da.mombie Hmm I have mixed feelings about that. I like the idea of preventing people from scouting, but one of my fav things to do as ptera is just watch other players and whats going on on the island. The thermal updrafts sound very cool though, I look forward to that!

it isn't that tough to land on trees. I use W while airbreak modus to land exactly where I look at. maybe it helps

@@maciekhg feedback and data. the game is in development. they have heatmaps and stuff like this to see how certain changes effect the gameplay. if and how players adapt. you can't do or see that in one day. all these datas can be used to optimize the gaming experience on the long run. 'cause our subjective feelings aren't always the truth. sometimes it's also a, no, I don't like it 'cause I am not used to it. which is something very human

Gateway kam raus, ich hab es mir angeschaut und seit dem nicht mehr gespielt. Das ist mir zu blöd mit der Ausdauer. Ich war nie einer, der von A nach B gerannt ist um dann kurz im Busch zu hocken und zu regenerieren. Aber das was die jetzt gemacht haben.. ne danke. Das ganze Migration System ist, in meinen Augen, genauso eine Fehlplanung. Sie wollten keine Hotspots mehr? Fanden es doof, das sich alle Spieler immer nur an den selben orten versammeln? Die Migration Zone ist genau das selbe wie Center, NW usw. Nur das sie halt jetzt wandert. Aber am Ende hast man genauso einen Punkt, wo alle Herbis hin rennen weil es da was zu fressen gibt und die Carnis folgen natürlich. Haste halt jetzt ein wanderndes NW oder Center.
Dann natürlich wieder die tollen Aussagen der Entwickler bezüglich der Ausdauer: "don't sprint everywhere" (glaube die Aussage kam von Punch) oder Dondi mit seinem (frei übersetzt) "wenn es dir nicht passt hau ab". Sieht man genug davon im Discord oder auf Reddit. So vieles wurde während des Stresstest angesprochen und nichts wurde geändert oder angepasst. Klar es ist ihr Spiel und sie können damit machen was sie wollen. Als guter Entwickler allerdings, nimmst du dir Anregungen und Ideen der Com aber zu Herzen und versuchst, einen Weg zu finden der vielleicht nicht alle in der Com glücklich macht, aber zumindest so viele wie möglich.
Genauso diese Sanctuarys. An sich eine gute Idee, verkommen aber leider zu einer Babu Deathmatch Arena. Ich habe mal auf nem leeren Com Server versucht, als Stego zu spielen. Gespawnt, geschnuppert und ab Richtung Sanctuary. Nach ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten dauer Sprint und 2 mal Gras fressen, kam ich dann an und hab mich sofort über die Pilze hergemacht. Nach meinem 9 oder 10 Pilz, waren meine Diäten NICHT voll, hatte also keinen 50% Bonus, aber mein Stego war schon groß genug, um dann Sumac, Kürbisse und Co. zu fressen. Und er war nicht mal auf 20% Größe angewachsen. War für mich dann so das Gefühl: "warum bin ich hier jetzt eigentlich hin gelaufen wenn ich nach ein paar Minuten eh wieder gehen kann?"

in meinen augen hören sie sehr wohl auf die community. aber diese ist nun mal gespalten bis zum geht nicht mehr. die einen wollen PVP, die anderen realismus, wieder andere nur mit ihren freunden abhängen und manche wollen gar ein PVE spiel im coop style. selbst in den einzelnen gruppen gibt es keinen konsens. manche PVP spieler wollen das omni einen rex mit genug skills im 1vs1 bezwingen kann. für andere geht das gar nicht und so weiter. also, was immer die machen, 70% sind unzufrieden. weil es für nichts eine mehrheit gibt.
mir haben leute gesagt sie spielen immer noch legacy, weil die dinos in evrima zu schnell laufen und das so unnatürlich ist. viele lieben das neue stam system. andere hassen es. aber mal ehrlich, gibst du ihnen feedback auf discord? also ich nicht. mein feedback sind meine kommentare. ich persönlich lese nicht ob irgendwer, irgendwo, irgendwas über mich schreibt. das selbe zählt für die devs. ihr feedback ist deren discord und viele leute (gruppen) sind dort sehr aktiv um ihre wünsche kund zu tun. diese müssen jedoch nicht unbedingt den unseren oder wie gesagt nicht mal den wünschen der mehrheit entsprechen.
ich finde die migration zone super. die hotspots waren/sind ein spieler ding. egal welche map die devs bis jetzt hervorgebracht hatten, spieler, allen voran PVP spieler, haben einen platz gefunden wo sie sich treffen. das kann man nicht bekämpfen. hat man ja bei der diet gesehen. die war ja auch dafür gedacht die einzelnen dinos besser über die karte zu verstreuen. hat nicht funktioniert, weil es uns egal war und wir trotz keiner diet dort mit pachy zum northwest hotspot sind. die migration zone soll das auch gar nicht verhindern in meinen augen. aber sie macht diese punkte flexible. dass es eben nicht immer nur der northwest wasserfall und das center sind.
ich will auch keinen safe place für mein juvie. ich will eine kleine juvie kampf arena. der preis ist perfect diet. man muss ja nicht hingehen. man kann ja auch als frischling seine diet normal bekommen. auch wenn das momentan noch ein wenig tricky ist. ich geb dir allerdings völlig recht mit der distanz. die sind viel zu weit weg von den spawn areas. aber so weit ich weiß, sollen viel mehr von den sanctuaries kommen und ich hoffe dass am ende bei jeder spawn area eines in der nähe ist.
momentan ist halt alles neu und auch noch buggy. die migration zone springt ja manchmal wie wild hin und her und so weiter. aber ich finde den weg den sie gehen schon in ordnung. auch stam ist wahrscheinlich zu brutal geändert worden. aber, dass kann sich ja wieder ändern. wir kennen sie ja. das kann im nächsten update schon wieder alles ganz anderes aussehen

Let's be honest, the new stam system is terrible.
in general I like the idea. to me it's just the worst possible timing (new map = we want explore) and probably just too much. or has to be further adapted for certain dinos at least. but, I never liked that 3 omni can attack you all in, two fall back while one keeps you on your feet and about a minute later two omni were fully recovered back. or that a stego can swing like crazy, 'cause it just has to stand still for a few moments to have enough stam back to keep swinging like there is no tomorrow. but, it feels like from one extreme into the other
