I ive in the US and haven't had the opportunity to explore Nepal in the way you are. I think that when we visit Nepal, we won't be able to see it from the same perspective you're experiencing due to the various regions, but it's really amazing to see and feel this way. Love Nepal.
Namaste, This is well known UNESCO world heritage "Swayambhunath Stupa". Swayam means "Self" and Bhu means "Born" in Sanskit. Many millennia ago, Kathmandu Valley was a huge body of lake. Before draining the water out of the Kathmandu valley, this lake was a renowned pilgrimage where many enlightened beings came across from different parts of the world to see the "Eternal flame of light" coming out of the lotus in the lake. Later on, well known enlightened being "Manjushree" slacked a small hill in Chovar near Jalbinayak with his sword to drain water out of the valley. After the water was drained the valley was formed and an "Eternal flame of Light" was deposited in the present stupa known as "Swayambhunath".

Hi Ryleigh, how long are you in Nepal for? It looks like you are rushing and not being able to make the most out of your visit in each site, like this one. If I were you, I would start my day early and spend a day learning about the history (like the guide was sharing with you and he would have showed you around all the temples and history behind them). Plus sitting in one corner and watch the world go by, looking at the prayers flags gently moving with the wind, looking at the Swayambhu stupa and its eyes is so soothing. I find the eyes so peaceful and calming every time I go there. When you go to the Patan Durbar Square (my hometown) and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, try and spend a day each. Compared to Kathmandu Durbar Square, they are much better in my opinion. I love how Bhaktapur takes me back to the ancient times while I find the build quality of the temples and durbar (palace), arts and crafts in Patan so much better among the three. Also, you get to enjoy the Newari (native people of Kathmandu Valley) cousine. Try 3G Honacha when in Patan Durbar Square. Our Newari foods are to die for... you will be finger licking and asking for more. I dont know if you like local spirits and beverages but I would definitely recomend you try a bit of Rukshi (grand-father of Tequila) and Thwoh (white rice wine). Lastly, when in Pokhara, go sit buy the Phewa Lake and do nothing. It's just so relaxing and calming. I usually grab a beer by the nearby restaurant and just wind down spending hours just looking at the water and mountains and the world go by. And if you have a few days to spare, do go up to Ghandruk. You will feel that the Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail Mountain) and other mountains are just a stone throw away. Not to be missed! I guaruantee you that you'd love it. I did and can share some pictures if you like.
Wow, i loved how they are promoting their small business. They are too good as an entrepreneur, and most beautiful part is they didn’t put extra effort of force to buy the stuffs. They were humble & well explained.
I’m also surprised how they dealt with you, as being a locals, never got the chance to know their way of dealings. Also, the most beautiful about your vlog is, you are a charming lady with a well spoken nature, sweet & humble.
Hi Rayleigh You are one of the kindest people alot of love from Nepal. Other people when they come to Nepal they are always saying about the tourist traps this and that but you supported the people and have a open heart and want to help the local with their business and always want to learn more. Your first video in Nepal did very well and i hope this one does too. I hope you do well in life and i wish for a great success to you. Can't wait for more videos to come😊❤

Hi Ryleigh... Tuning in for some more of your video.. Honestly I've become a fan of yours. Also Just like the previous video.. You again missed out some more of the area 😅😅 If you had walked down the stairs you said you wouldnt you would reach another sacred temple there, along with few other new places with temples and parks.. Hope you visit the place again .. Hope you enjoy your stay ❤❤
Thanks for watching! Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Unfortunately I ran out of time to see everything but I’m so happy with what I did get to learn about. Thanks for letting me know though 🙏
Hey Ryleigh, I'm feeling yr vlogs. Just a pro tip, there are 5 ride hailing apps in Nepal with "Pathao" being the most popular one. You can & should cross check the actual fare to yr desired destination there even if you decide on a cab. Also, whilst in Thamel area avoid any approaches from folks who invite you to some art school/gallery - They're filthy scammers. And, lastly! before you consume anything from most Indian Street vendors in Np - pls check with the local customer bout the price first. As with many places, there's some cheeky buggers in the capital. That being said, Nepal's got some warm, friendliest locals 🤙🏽 Keep on livin ☘️
In addition to Pathao, there’s inDrive app too. They provide various price ranges along with driver ratings you can choose from. Wish you a pleasant stay in our country. 🫶🏼

Nepali people are crazy and very fond of people like you promote their country. You will be a viral star in few days.. Thank you for visiting nepal and making videos up there. I hope you have a nice experience...
The guy who explained the temple absolutely spot on. He explained it so well. Before, so many fake tourist guides gave false narrative of the place. I laud the effort of locals to explain to tourists.
Can't stop myself from hitting that Suscribe button... So just did it. Thank u for being in Nepal. Keep growing n keep exploring. Much luv from Nepal. ( currently from Abu Dhabi)

I was in February in Kath, Pok and the ABC Trek, seeing your content about Nepal just brings back so many good memories. I want definitely to come back to this special place. Thank you, Ryleigh, for making such honest and lovely to watch, content. Travel safe and take care of yourself
You’re definitely a head turner in Nepal. An ideal Khas Arya. I wouldn’t be surprised if you spoke Nepali. Kinda reminds me of Droupadi. Beautiful, lotus eyed Kshatriya negotiator. P.s. My translation of Swayambhunath would be that every one on this earth should be a protector of themselves. If you’re in ny hmu. Have fun love!
For anyone interested the walk from Thamel to Swoambhu is great. You pass some nice restaurants and shops that sell mala beads to the monks. It’s a good distance too.
Hello Ryleigh! Typically, I tend to skip through video segments, but your authentic enthusiasm and compelling storytelling kept me engaged for the entire 52 minutes. Your warm personality is truly endearing. While you're in Nepal, make sure to savor our Nepali cuisines; their authentic flavors are unparalleled anywhere else in the world. How much longer will you be staying there?
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I am so glad you enjoyed the video 🙏 I will definitely be doing a food tour during my stay! Hoping to explore for a bit over a month :)
Good to see you popping up on my feeds and some quality content and i am still waiting for your guide to explain about them big bells. The bell: We usually ring the bell before be start praying to the gods in order to purify the atmosphere, clear our mind and the bell itself rings in the frequency that resonates with OOM. The sound of the bell helps our mind to concentrate and focus. Thats what i understand the bell represents. A humble request, monkey temple is the name given by foreigners to save themselves from the twisty tongue situation and i personally dont think its the right thing to rename places with historical and cultural significance to a point where you expect to see loads of monkeys just coz foreigners started calling it monkey temple but instead as you could see the number of dogs were high, i am afraid after few years it may be renamed to the dog temple.
Thank you so much for educating me on it! I had no idea it was a foreigner thing. I’ve only ever heard it called the monkey temple and it shows up in so many articles with that name so thanks for letting me know that is not the official name at all. Appreciate you explaining the bell too! I was so curious about it. Glad you’re enjoying the videos 🙏
7:00 theres more monkey in upstairs. Bcz they are found more upstairs and at the eastern gate. Also, if you visit from eastern gate you dont need to pay money + its more beautiful visiting from eastern gate
You are such a typical Sydney sider. Saying things like: I’m so unfit, I’m starviiiinnnngg. Haha ! Good to see you enjoying Nepal and ty for not haggling with cab drivers or the street vendors too much. For them extra 100rs is fair bit and that’s like literally a dollar for us here. So very generous of You. I come from Nepalese background too but live in Sydney. Ty again 🙏

Meaning of 5 Buddhas and colour: Southern Buddha: Ratnasambhava:(Yellow) Overcome Pride & Greed Northern Buddha: Amogha Siddha: (Green) Overcome Envy & Jealousy Eastern Buddha: Asobhya (Blue) Overcome Anger & Hatred Western Buddha: Amitav (Red) Achieve Compassion, Peace & Love on the top there is an omnipotent and omnipresent white Buddha named as Bhairochana and the name literally translates to "supreme one".

You went from the back gate . I suppose you did not notice 3 big statue on the other side. Even the best views of the Kathmandu city is from other side. If you get a chance do visit the front side. There is a park with 3 big statue. Further more there is swimming pool for monkeys, there is a wish pond where you can throw coins and near to parking area there is some open space which covers beautiful views of Kathmandu city.

They were so lovely! And I loved learning about their crafts 🙏
I’m also surprised how they dealt with you, as being a locals, never got the chance to know their way of dealings.
Also, the most beautiful about your vlog is, you are a charming lady with a well spoken nature, sweet & humble.
As a nepali 🇳🇵🇳🇵 " Buddhist"
I don't have knowledge like this man 😢 ,
Kudos 🙏 for more then explore our religion ☯️ .
Lots of enjoy...🎉🎉

Hi Rayleigh
You are one of the kindest people alot of love from Nepal.
Other people when they come to Nepal they are always saying about the tourist traps this and that but you supported the people and have a open heart and want to help the local with their business and always want to learn more.
Your first video in Nepal did very well and i hope this one does too. I hope you do well in life and i wish for a great success to you.
Can't wait for more videos to come😊❤
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment 🙏🙏
With just 6 videos you are on top of the chart. ♥
You are my second favorite vlogger now after Haraldo 💘.. Please upload more of your Nepal videos as quick as you can.. can't live without it now... you are an addiction. ❤🔥
Heraldo mine favorite too
So glad you’re enjoying the videos! Thanks for watching 🙏 New video will be posted today 🙏
Thank you for the advice! 🙏🙏
In addition to Pathao, there’s inDrive app too. They provide various price ranges along with driver ratings you can choose from. Wish you a pleasant stay in our country. 🫶🏼
Hey i am watching this from penrith Sydney Australia, the conversation between you and guide on the temple was life changing.. lots of love to you girl… i hope you earn money, knowledge and trust.

So glad I got a good guide! 🙏 Thanks for watching!

I want definitely to come back to this special place.
Thank you, Ryleigh, for making such honest and lovely to watch, content.
Travel safe and take care of yourself
Aw thank you for your lovely comment! I am so glad you’re loving the videos 🙏 Hopefully you can come back and visit soon 🙏
shout out to the Guide. I know its his job, but his ability to explain is so good.
It’s a good distance too.
time 30:00 to 43:00 guy gave quite a lecture...nice that u were so respectful...
Can't wait for the next one! Transporting video, loved all the details.
Thank you!
Ty again 🙏
Omg, kishor guide is amazing, he explained it really calmly and well.
He was great! So glad you enjoyed it 😊🙏
Thank you Ryleigh for exploring my beautiful country. I love watching your vlog, love the way you interact with local people. Keep growing and I hope you bring videos for us more often.

Thanks for watching! 🙏
you have all the nuances of a good travel vlogger.. wish you much luck!!
Thank you so much 🙏🙏
You went from the back gate .
Wow that’s sounds amazing! I entered where I was dropped off! Hopefully others that visit can see that stuff on their trip 🙏 Thanks for letting me know
Why don’t you use (Pathao) application for the ride ?
Another Awesome video Mate. 19:32 stairs Down there was actually the other way to go back down. 🍻 ❤ i will be there 🇳🇵 very soon .can't wait to go back home 😊
I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for the tip and for watching 🙏
