Just ordered mine! - Cant wait!
FINALLY someone who uses a pick!
"It's like a jazz bass, but twice."
SOLD!
Crafted in China! Same factory than the Squier Classic Vibe series, which are INCREDIBELY good instruments!
Seriously, man. You don't know how freaking good these basses are.
lovely...
I GOT ONE!!!!! It's in the sunburst finish. It's my favorite bass!
I'm really interested in the double humbucker Jazz - just what I've been looking for for several years. I hope these sell well so that Fender will issue a higher-level model as well. Until then... I've got a Modern Player on order, can't wait for it to come in.
Which would you recommend for indie/dance music (like Foals meets Two Door Cinema Club) between this and a modern player tele bass?
@philharris14 the mark hoppus 'jazz' actually is made with a set of inverted p-bass pickups so tone wise will be pretty different to a jazz pickup
any chance you'll be doing the modern player tele bass?
i would like to see a demo of those new fender tube bass amps
Do the humbuckers have a 4 wire output?
does anybody know if you could get a good punk rock tone from this guitar and how it compares to the mark hoppus jazz bass? i play guitar but i dont know much about bass, thanks
Was this demo-ed with a Fender Bronco 40 amp? It looks like it though. It sounds great with the modern jazz bass.
Whats the diiference between fender and squier ?
Will there be a 5 string verson?
Can someone tell me why mine arrived with scratches all over the pickguard?
Are you trying out Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass Guitar, Black Transparent ?
Do the pickups have 4 wires?
does this bass sound perfect for beatles song?
my guitar appeared to be that way until I pulled the cellophane off. LOL
I would vote for this, it will cut through better and it probably gives you a bit more versatility.
Man, y'all should never do a demo that isn't DI'd that sounded horrible and this is a great sounding bass.
Do a demo for the Modern Thinline Tele, please!
is this one made in USA, MIM? I've heard somewhere China? its awesome anyways! I'm getting one.
I was curious about the Modern Player Jaguar bass! Looks promising for a $399 retail price (according to Musician's Friend). Have you played that one? Anyone else can answer this too, I wanna hear some opinions about it!
Is this active or passive?
*********Modern Player Jazz or Blacktop P bass? The Modern Players Description says it is more of an entry level guitar? The prices are close as well. I am by no means looking for an entry level bass but the transparent finish on the Modern Player is so awesome. Opinions please?***********
I have 10 *really nice* basses (Mike Lull Jazzes, Spector Bolt-Ons & Music Man 4 & 5-strings) but the Modern Player Jazz Bass with its Dual Coil Pups really has me wanting one as my Giftmas Present! This would be for bass for my prototype "Effects Bass" with a Sustainer and Kahler Trem, but I want to check out build quality and pickup wiring (can they be split?, etc) before I purchase. Actually, I'd love 2 - 1 Trans Black tuned to C Std for metal stuff and an Olympic White for the EFX Bass!
modern player tele bass demo please. Thanks..
Is this model are made in USA or Mexico?
Hope we get a better demo of what this bass can do, I am very interested in it. In this video when he solo's the bridge, there is NO Jaco in that tone, my friend!
Wicked... Dawsons sell these for just over £400. Buy Buy Buy :) That's my birthday present hoepfully...
I love the comment!
Can you review the modern player jaguar bass? you all have no reviews for that bass.

I have and i make it too

Everone's an expert. I heard a little Jaco in there.
How much is this guitar.

@MallRat666 Squier Fender Modern Player Jazz bass is a good cheap starting bass although as time goes on it may not be to your liking. The blacktop looks confusing to me as they are P bass pickups, yet its jazz? I have heard that Blacktop bass is not quite as hot as a true jazz bass as well. I am sure its just fine for what it is, but if you want a real jazz bass get the Fender standard Jazz bass for around 550. Just my opinion. This modern one won't have the true classic fender bass style.
someone tell me what is modern here
Humbuckers
for a huge company you could have atleast mic'd the audio
Where they are produced. Fender is normally american or mexican produced. Not sure about squier
MM Stingray
@arturocalendar i think these basses are made in china
that's - not - kinda - like - jaco - sound!!
@bhxxbtx agree. all i can hear is fresh roundwounds. actually play the bass, don't give us some token-ass "bass-ish licks"
please for the love of all the hot women in the world please tell me they are going to make a 5-string model of that bass!!!!!!!!?
take off the protective plastic.
sound may be powerful but not so interesting..
china$sss
oh c'mon, it's not Jaco's style
Terrible demo. Too much bragging about how the bass plays/sounds, not enough actual playing.
china
why fender.... WHY!!!!!!??????
It hums to much
This bass is the proof that the financial crisis have hit fender musical incorporation..
You see, this is a "Made in China" bass with the "Fender" trademark. Why didn't they call it Squier just like the rest fender asian basses??? :O
Because Fender decided that the quality of this particular series were deserving of the Fender Brand name on the Headstock, and they live up to it!!!
Because this bass is higher quality than any Mexican fender I’ve ever played.
I’ve been playing one nearly every day for the last three years and as a professional bass player, it has more soul than almost any other bass I’ve had
1. Why such stupid humbuckers if you cant split them to a tradtional fender.
2. CUT YOUR FINGERNAILS
Roll volume halfback, boom single coil sound
I have and i make it too
