Great job. You are the only one who explains the function of the front switch with its 4 positions and the different sounds getting whith it. Thank you very much.
You are one of my favorite people doing demos. IMO you sound way better than a lot of people doing demos that claim to be bass players. I dig your centered bass tone, you sound good for someone that does not play bass full time.
I put one of these together with a Squire neck, bound and block in maple. I didn't care for the 4 way switch so I had installed a Vol, balance and passive tone controls. I then added two 3 way switches so I could use single coil, parallel and series. The sounds I get out of those two pickups are fantastic and the balance control makes it a one of a kind. Until I die, this will be my bass. I added a White mother of pearl scratch plate/pick guard
The tonal range on this is pretty impressive. I've got a mp jag from last year, the fact its made in china shouldnt worry you. It seems QC on these things is pretty high due to fender being worried about people being concerned about it.
Interesting configuration this bass has. Only thing I don't like is the terrible high gloss finish on the backside of the neck. I have a Squier classic vibe 50's precision bass which has the same thing. I sandpapered it off and now it feels and plays smooth!
Not a big fan of the 5-way stuff, I'd prefer 1 volume, balance, tone and perhaps two mini switches to split the pickups (or just the back one). Looks great though
Yeah they could have just tossed push/pull pots to split the pickups. More intuitive and only three knobs needs, so then the 1/4" jack is where it belongs on a jazz bass, there the tone is now.
Just a shame that the action was not set up correctly on the video. I could hear fret buzzing all the time while he was playing because the strings were too close to the frets.
IMHO a useless rotary switch. Would prefer a five way switch. 1) bridge p/u 2) both p/u’s series 3) both p/u’s parallel 4) neck p/u 5) both p/u’s single coil.
The modern player series is made to be more affordable, I have a few and they're all perfectly fine n sound great. They only make them in china to save money
Way too much string buzz. Also a review should demo the bass plugged into an amp for true tone. Last, please demo the sounds all around the neck from deep to high notes.

I would buy one of those in a heartbeat.
Why this fabulous bass guitar is not available to buy anymore???
As soon as I can find a job one of these babies are mine! Had my eye on it for a while, but I can't wait to get my hands on it
did you get it
@@christopherrusch if he didn't ,he's bumming! they go for $900+ in the used market. i paid $290 10yrs ago!

Got this the other day. Never looked at it until I saw it in the shop. She is an absolute monster.

Both outter coils (position 4) was a bit too thin, but positions 2 & 3 sounded awesome. Bet they'd cut through the mix really well.
My style 100% I really want one of these badasses!

and now i come back to say that i own one. almost brand new. 5 string. love it. wont play it on gigs tho :-)
Great review man. Very good. Thanks.
This sounds amazing. I only wish it had a satin neck. Maybe my next bass!
The pu's look identical to the Blacktop P which you've also reviewed, except for the pu placement. How does the MP Jazz compare with the BT Precision?
getting one of these as soon as i get my pay check .... and thanks man great review as always :D
Love the satin finish
Paul you are the man!!!
Love Stick's reviews!
QUESTION??? What is the difference between a jazz bass and a player jazz bass?
cool bass grooves man, cool bass
Review the Blacktop version Jbass please!
Good review it's on my short list

Hey Stick, what do you think of the new Zoom H-6 portable recorder than has just come out in the last month or two?
I almost want to be a bass player. seriously.
best comment.
Nice some great jazz bass growling tones. but maybe a little too complex for my simple brain.
Does this bass have an Alder body?
Charlie Platt I believe the fender modern player basses do
Can you use all the pickups all at once?
Great Review! !!
Why my that fender only have 3position switch? Why? Not 4 not only 3..no manual..
rionaldo mushab also my bass, realy why?
It's sure low, but your Voice is higher than I expected
What's the song at around 1:15 ? AC/DC Let's get it up?
Awesome ! :D
This is the made in china version?

Looks and sounds killer but I'm not a fan on the jazz neck, prefer a more chunky neck, something to grip when playing ...
Prefer chunkier necks myself... But good god that sound! :o
Fender Blacktop P also has HH configuration, with of course the chunkier neck.
Does it come as as a 5 string?
Yes.
Yep!
You mean "It's", I think - as in " it is ".
This vs Epiphone Thunderbird ?
This. I've owned two Thunderbirds, they are good basses but over all the Fender has more tone possibilities and is much more comfortable.
Michael Ard true i always felt like the firebird necks were way too beefy...
You look like Marshall from 'How I Met Your Mother'.
Cool bass but the fret buzz sounds horrible
401 pounds? thats really heavy
IMHO a useless rotary switch. Would prefer a five way switch. 1) bridge p/u 2) both p/u’s series 3) both p/u’s parallel 4) neck p/u 5) both p/u’s single coil.
Dude action is too low i know your not primarily a bass player stick but come-on
"Crafted in China"
WHAT??
Timothy Muscat fender hit a new low

Youre quite right, too much string fuzz
I saw the "made in China" and pretty much made up my mind right there...
WTF NO SLAPPIN`????
Your not a politician ..dont talk so much bla bla ,lets hear the different sounds not from U but the Bass!!
