With the whole crew sweating over getting the Tesla swapped C10 EV squarebody through the shop doors and on its way to SEMA, you guys probably thought we had forgotten about this Twin turbo LS swapped DeLorean. But don't worry, we've been hammering down on this DMC12 at the same time as our EV truck! This week our LS DeLorean is getting brand new wiring to run our Haltech Nexus R5 ECU. Scott from Crawford Speed knows Haltech's products like the back of his hand, so we call him in to help us re-pin all of our connectors and help bring some power to our DeLorean. We're also doing some work on the rear deck lid, installing some Lexan over our engine bay to make sure all of Tim's titanium turbo welding work is visible at all times! We have Raul from CRC back in the shop laying down some carbon fiber on the sides of our engine bay to continue with that race inspired look as well. Skol sent us over a set of jaw dropping 3 piece wheels that widen this Delorean's stance like crazy! And with an insanely wide offset, we need an insanely wide widebody kit. We're taking a different approach with making this widebody kit than we did with the Tesla swapped C10 truck. We head down to our friends at South Dade Skiffs and used their CNC machine to cut our molds out of some high density MDF foam which we are then able to shape, lay fiberglass on, and pop some wild looking widebody fenders out of! Once our body work is complete, Steve from Skeptik Innovations stops by the shop to start working on some one of a kind LED lighting that truly makes this DMC stand out! He uses some acrylic lenses that Jeff at JG3D CNC'd for us to create some stunning light visuals that make you feel like you're in an 80's futuristic Sci-Fi movie! With all this work done, we're able to turn the motor over, but unfortunately we're not able to fire her up until we come back from SEMA. We're aiming to put down over 1,000 horsepower with this car, and to do that, we need to make sure everything is dialed in perfectly before cranking the motor over. But we're stoked to be on our way to Vegas and one step closer to doing some crazy burnouts in this LS Swapped twin turbo Delorean! Man would have loved to see the rear lights do the full grid. Those running front lights are literally perfect for the build! My mind is blown!

Dude I had to rewatch that part like 4 times. I would have crapped myself. He got super lucky that tank didn’t build more pressure and pop open injuring him. I still laughed, but damn.

Literally the only reason why I will be buying a Delorean. Because of this build. This is how I planned my build. LS, lowered, wide body. All the niche stuff.
We’d love to build another and actually get to finish it before someone bought it. So if you’re ready and have the funds let’s do it
Haltech is an Aussie brand. developed and made here in aus. now regarded as one of the most versatile and capable stand alone ecu's on the market. so nice to see Australian equipment being regarded so highly that it's now making it into builds around the world.

That's because everyone knows what they're doing, and have a great work ethic. Most shops are full of burnouts with knowledge, but not much drive, and usually a drinking problem.
Lol it was also filmed over a longer time than alot of Chanel's do. You can watch progress on the car happen in the background over the electric truck build.
We built this car at the same time as the C10. Our main focus for the channel was the C10 so we didn’t go as in depth as this build. We wanted to give y’all a good overview of the build before we show you it in its entirety at SEMA! When we get back we’ll definitely be going more in depth with the tuning and everything that’s going to be helping this car make power!

I believe in actual reality they just needed to fit everything in. Sema is up and there’s not many days they have for editing and such. He said something along the lines of they had this car and the electric c10 built within 8 months for sema. Compare this to the c10 series that one is a lot longer and you can often also see the c10 in the backround of this video half finished. I think everyone wishes they can build a car this quick lol.
This is how a DeLorean sould've been from the beginning. A badass engine, with some sick HP.
Most youtubers would take 6 months to do a project like this! you rock. nocking out like a pro of pros!
After the first episode I knew this would be one of my current favorite builds on youtube. This episode solidifies that. After sema you should get the flares/bumper wrapped in carbon and run them raw. I think that would look incredibly sick and bring the rest of the trunk carbon together.
Edit: To clarify by wrapped in carbon I meant actual carbon fiber and not some corny vinyl 3m wrap.

Otsuka Maxwell Design (You Tube) has done a DeLorean with a Kia 3.3L TT claiming 487hp. Matt Farah drove it and told us what a rattle trap it was, but the engine was amazing in that car. I hope S2S has sorted out the rattles and made it a solid car.

I just saw this car outside the Plaza Hotel (Biff Tannen's) in Vegas. One of the coolest things I have ever seen. The car is beyond perfect.

i think my favorite thing about this channel is seeing "THE MAN" elbows deep with the guys.
Excellent decision in keeping the tape deck, gives it a retro look hard to achieve without it.
They could have also used a Blaupunkt Bremen. It looks exactly like an 80's euro tape deck but it has modern features and can drive a high end system.

The headlights are so good, definitely gonna make similar ones for my car 👍🏼 most SEMA build not running. so for the amount of work you guys have done, we have no problem waiting another month or so to see this and the truck build finished and running

Fun fact, in Back to the Future during the clock tower scene when the Delorean started after Marty had headbutted the horn, This is actually possible because the wiring was so bad (bad enough for some buyers to be locked in their cars due to failing electric locks and no way to manually unlock them) that in some early to mid 1981 models that the horn and starter wires were crossed, Honking the horn would start that car and turning the key would honk the horn.

Also the frame is epoxy coated steel. It can and does rust

I worked on a brand new Delorean. Not a very well finished car, there were loose wires and unconnected relays and none of the carpet was fully fastened. In the back was a pile of other parts they forgot to install or expected the dealer to. Over the years (the owner only sold it last year) it turned out to be a reliable car and if you were good at sourcing parts it wasn't expensive to keep running. All the problems this one had when new was due to shoddy assembly like the fuel pump started to make a horrible noise that turned out to be it was never tightened properly. The wheel bearings and brakes are small but not expensive and light so find a good supplier or upgrade them. The owner also found a spring/shock kit that made a huge difference in looks and ride, he also remade the dash and center console. Both yours and his were a huge improvement over stock. The stock seats were awful too.
On your car it looks like the centerline of the output shafts is ahead of the wheels, I wonder how this is going to work out.

If you back purge with shielding gas your tank doesn’t blow up when you’re welding it. You probably know this but just throwing it out there.

Wide body kits are the worst thing you can do to a car, specially a DeLorean. I home the car is salvageable after this.
