man, all the auto gain and clipping stuff could just be solved if they made the interface 32 bit float. am i crazy thinking any interface not using 32 bit float is nit worth it in 2023/4?

What’s also important to point out is that the new 4th Gen Solo does NOT have the RedNet converters that the new 2i2 and 4i4 have and does NOT have the the 69dB of gain that the 2i2 and 4i4 have either! The changes to the Solo are a bit more cosmetic than functional. Also some reviews are stating that they come with a USB C to A cable, when it’s in fact a USB C to C cable with a C to A removable adapter on one end! I got the new 4th Gen 4i4 today and the sound quality is amazing for the price.
just got the 3rd gen getting back to creating after a long hiatus and Im not sure about setting levels tbh theres a couple ways to do it and Im just not sure and I’ve worked for years as a live and studio sound engineer and Im hearing noise and differences in the audio settings on the ver 3 with my MODX6
@@876Plug I don’t know, for about $10 more I think an Audient ID 4 mk2 would do the trick and it’s been out for a few years. I’ve had a Scarlett in the past and they are ok for the money, but I stand by what I said before. There is better stuff out there than what’s being hyped on embargo day releases.
Are you able to Test if you can play backing tracks from your 'Samsung Phone' VIA the USB C port, I do this on my Solo Gen 3 and it works perfectly out through my monitors, I just dont want to buy this product and realize that Focusrite have changed something.
Scarletts are nice for the price but for just a little more the Focusrite Clarett+ line is much better. Cheaper than UA or RME but sounds just as good!!
But what about the 6i8, 18i8 and 18i20? Are they getting a 4th gen refresh too or are they discontinued with no replacement? It seems odd that the 3rd gen range had six interfaces to choose from so why is there only three models in the 4th gen range?

Clip safe is a old feature propellerhead balance interface did this in 2012

I used the motu m2 for the last 3 years and just got the 2i2 4th gen…its a night and day difference.
