I always liked when the commander read off the names of the ships that were destroyed if u save the council. Honor, something that reporter needs to learn about.

Think that's the kind of thing people keep in their heads all the time?
      I don't.
In my fic, I have my Engineer/Infiltrator Shepard fitted with a neural implant that uses an onboard VI (like SIRI or Google Assistant, but running on *local* bloodstream DCE.)
It puts these relevant facts on his ARO so he can see and read them aloud to her because it's listening in on the conversations he's having, and keeps him well-informed.
It's unusual because it was the result of an accident when he was 13, and he had been tinkering with it as he lived with it.
I hope NeuraLink will offer some functionality like that when it becomes more broadly commercialised.

I just don’t think this _particular_ journalist does it well. She feels like she just chases tabloids in Mass Effect 1 and 2, and in 3 goes after Shepard because she’s angry. And you’re right, journalists are allowed to have opinions - everyone is - but it’s important to try to stay impartial in that profession. It’s like teaching: you can have an opinion, but your job is to present information as objectively as possible, so you do what you can to not let your students know what you personally feel and argue both sides.
I don’t think she deserves the horror of losing her family and friends. But I don’t want to encourage her style of journalism.
Then again… in a high-choice media environment, it’s important to have people who argue for a particular side so everyone has a voice. So it’s good there are Shepard’s like you who do encourage her.

      -----
How? She isn't asking you any personal "celebrity gossip" questions or unimportant questions, she is asking you about your allegiances and your decisions, which are natural foreign policy concerns which the average human would have of a black ops person working for an IGO that their country is not a part of (who has also been given an important ship). Just because she has opinions about the facts does not mean she is a tabloid reporter.
We don't even know if those are her actual opinions. They may very well be the questions that average people (some of whom are conspiracy theorists) would want to ask Shepard. It is important for Shepard to answer those questions, even if they may be uncharitable. Some reporters conduct interviews in that way and it's a good thing otherwise you will just get more conspiracy theorists creating the narrative.
      -----

A journalist should have good facts and be rational, if those facts are consistent with a given conclusion , then being impartial is not rational or ethical.
      This is what she knows.
      1: Shepard is unelected.
2: Shepard is a black ops person working for an organization the human government is not a part of.
3: Shepard was given an important ship by an admiral who was his superior officer.
4: Shepard has foreign nationals/aliens on this important ship.
5: There are conspiracy theories about what Shepard is currently doing (on Noveria, Feros, regarding Saren) which may or may not be true.
6: In ME2, Shepard makes a decision about the council which is controversial no matter what that decision is.
Questions related to this have to be asked. How does one ask these questions in an impartial way, in your opinion? And if you go paragon and say nice things about the council, then your allegiances will naturally be in question.

When I first played ME3, when I got to the part where she dodged my punch and smacked back, that was genuinely one of the funniest jokes I'd ever seen in my life, it was pure gold.
I just thought "Ha! Now I can punch her again!" But she ducked and hit back... it was SO unexpected. And COMPLETELY deserved because she never once hit Shepard first. It was
Who ever thought of that should have gotten a raise.
One of my favourite video game jokes of all time.

Is her hair texture flipped in ME3: Legendary, or is it just me?

    • @Scorpious187
      @Scorpious187 3 года назад +4

No, she has a different hairstyle in 3. Her hairstyle was different in the original release as well.

@@Scorpious187 I distinctly remember that same hairstyle with a left side parting in the original ME3. I’ve noticed it on other characters with this hairstyle too (Chakwas, for example).

Holy hell dude, you're right... Nice catch! I just found an old video of these scenes and her hair *is* flipped in the LE. ruclips.net/video/cenKx5hV9N4/видео.html starting around 2:40 in to confirm.

    • @Scorpious187
      @Scorpious187 3 года назад +1

She does have a different hairstyle in 3 compared to 1 and 2, but it is flipped in the ME:LE... so weird.

@@Scorpious187 Another thing I noticed; Chakwas' hair is "normal" in the opening cutscene of ME2. However, her position getting in the escape pod has changed.
In the original, she's second from the end on the right (the love interest takes the end one after yelling "Everbody in. Go, go, go!"). Now, she's second from the end on the left.

Ok Big Dan. You have done something almost impossible, almost no one knew that this was even an option to not punch her in the face, but it was.
Now I and everyone in the entirety of the mass effect community must ask you for one last sacrifice.
Find out what happens if you actually select Udina as the first human councilor in mass effect 1. I know it must seem like an impossible task, but you are the only one that can get this done.

I really, really like the paragon route with her. It disarms here every time, and then at the end Shepard hears that panicked desperation in her voice and steps up to comfort her. Despite how she's treated him in the past, he's still a good man, and taking a final step forward is what firmly fixes that in her mind.

Damnit Dan. Why should I suffer this crap for 10 points? I always deck her asap. Jesus man. Making my life choices tough here. Have a good day. I'm gonna go think about what I've done to her pixels for years.

kinda wish we got to see the Intimidate options in me2, especially since Renegade Shepherds are much more likely to punch her vs Paragon Shepherds who'd always go for Charm.
