I also love that Hailey has noted that genes have also played a role in her skin. She has been super transparent and that makes me want to support her.

Tbh, It is a fantastic first launch! She worked on this for years. Very passionate about skincare. And, it’s definitely affordable especially with all those incredible ingredients. Looking forward to more launches from Rhode, and you should watch her documentary she released on her channel. I think people shouldn’t write off her brand as another fad. She’s very clear about the expectations from her products.
yea this. idk I remember her doing all these live streams, inviting experts to educate her followers years ago, when the product wasn't even in the making. It's not like she one day woke up and asked some people create those products, and now goes to the lab sometimes filming herself for the marketing. She's been invested in that topic wayyyy before, trying to educate herself. In my opinion that's very rare with celebrities releasing their own lines.
I appreciate the reminder that using these products does not mean one’s skin will be looking like hers (or yours) because there’s so much more done to care for the skin than just these products. Helps to combat unrealistic marketing.

use - because they want good skin too, they think that what I’m using will make their skin look like mine. people forget that what you put inside your body really affects the appearance of the skin, and some are more affected than others.

I’ve been using these products for a year now and will say I was doubtful when I first purchased them and just wanted to test them - but I really love them! My skin is clear, hydrated, and plump and I’ve noticed a definite decrease in my fine lines. Very happy with this product and will continue to use them!
Hailey Bieber has actually talked about how she see's skin professionals like esthetician's and dermatologist on a monthly bases. Which is something we don't see many celebrities talk about to the general public. It is nice to see a celebrity be transparent about seeing skin professionals and also talks about how genetics also places a big role in your skin as well.
This is so funny because, as you said, everyone is so so different in what they look for and what they prefer. James Welsh HATED the salted caramel lip balm but LOVED the watermelon one .. just goes to show how our needs/tastes are so different!!

I absolutely love the peptide lip treatment. It REALLY DEEP MOISTURIZES MY LIPS. I compare it to the laneige one. Now I don’t go out without it!
I bought the lip balms .. they are ok. Nothing special though
same. I love hailey's, and I actually disliked the laneige one so I much prefer this!!

I absolutely loved the format of this video! I trust your research and appreciate that you take the time to do it and then report it to everyone else! Also, 100% agree with your sentiments on supporting small businesses, instead of crushing them, just because you want a name!
It takes 1-2 years to bring products from concept to market. I don't follow Hailey but I suspect that her positioning to appear like a skincare enthusiast was deliberate. This builds trust with the audience and makes the project appear organic which is pretty important nowadays.
Again, I am not saying that this is NOT a passion project - just be critical of the long-term marketing play.

Good point! I think a point in Hailey's favor is that she didn't launch this as a "surprise." I'm not a Hailey fan, so I might be misremembering...but I think she's been open about launching a brand for a year or so. I think she openly told people she was working on her own launch, which makes it feel less like a marketing tactic.

I actually use a small amount of the lip treatment and for my lips it stays on almost all day! Even with eating and drinking. So for me it’s a staple. I use the peptide moisturizer and I like it but when I’m done I’ll be going back to the inkey list peptide moisturizer.

It's very possible that Hailey found a love for skincare after receiving treatments...it's kind of how I feel. After seeing a specialist for my own skin I found that once you know some key information it's really cool. I also found that with as many skincare products available to the average consumer, there aren't a TON of options available to someone with my specific congestion skin issue so there is still room for new brands/products. I also think the internet is quick to scream cash grab but look at Rare Beauty and Fenty. Yes, her products won't make our face look like hers but professionals will tell you there's a 80/20 skincare rule: 20% professional assistance & 80% daily home discipline We need to stop assuming skincare lines are a cash grab just because the face behind the name has good skin. No, I'm not a Hailey stan this is just my opinion. No one batted an eye when De*i released her skincare products and I'm sure she gets professional services done; she seemingly uses skin smoothing filters sometimes when promoting her products as well.

Argireline has specified effective usage rates of 2 - 5% by the manufacturer.
Same goes with Niacinamide, it is generally recommended to add up to 5%, or 6% absolute max.
As a cosmetic chemist I wouldn't use anything above those rates for my clients, as not only it won't give you a better result, but it could cause irritations or other skin issues.
Do you know what precent of Niacinamide is in the glaze serum? The Ordinary one broke me out really bad after just one use, I think because it was too much.

I'd like to know how it performs over time! Breakouts, how it wears under sunscreen and makeup, and whether it dries out your skin in the long term. Would be great if you could do a follow-up review for us after a month or so!
hi! i’ve been using the barrier cream for the past month (or whenever the first launch was) and i haven’t broken out since. i’m usually acne prone, so i love that these products are fragrance free. it wears perfectly fine under sunscreen and is great to use day or night :)
It’s amazing. And same actually have never been broken out. It’s so nice and thick.

Hailey asked the other Rhode brand for the name for her clothing line, but she has already filed for another name for that since they refused. She was always good to use it for skincare and owns the legal trademark.

Thank you for this review. I look at this for the women or men just getting into skin care. I’m in my 40s so I know this is not going to cut it but the glaze is fun for glow and I actually did like the moisturizer but not nearly hydrating enough.

hey i love ur well detailed and explained video about rhode! i wanted to say that a lot of people forget to mention that when hailey contacted the clothing line their trademark was "rhode resort" they built their brand for years with that name! then after hailey contacted them they suddenly wanted to drop the "resort" part :/ but ofc they are not gonna mention that on their statement!
plus idk if u knew but when there's a new trademark registration the USPTO gives a period of time where anyone can file for a opposition. There's something definitely fishy there!
I got the glazing fluid and the lip gloss. They’re just okay, I don’t love them but don’t hate them. Terrible customer service though. I ordered within the first hour of the launch and it took a week to even get my tracking info. Went days before my emails were answered and when they did finally respond it just said “check back in 2 days” lol. Would not repurchase
I bought them too. They are ok. Not bad but not great . I am embarrassed to say but I bought all of Kim’s line skkn. I was in SHOCK. My skin has never been this clear or soft. I’m 36 and I’m an esthetician. I honestly can’t believe how great my skin is .

I think something critics often forget when it comes to the faces of skin care brands (aside from privilege in accessing the best Derms/procedures) is GENETICS. Some people just win the skin genetic lottery and others dont, similar to how some people win the hair genetic lottery or the health genetic lottery. Although I don't doubt she takes good care of her skin, based on genetics alone, you can have beautiful glowy spot free skin and use a bar of dove soap (ie. my grandmother). Don't believe that her skin is 100% due to some serum.
Honestly, if you follow Haley, she continuously mentions that she doesn't only use her products and also promotes other brands at the same time and mentions that she is open to try new products. She also mentions she does get treatments done. She just wanted to create a brand that she would use herself and obviously it's a passion project, atleast it's not that expensive and has great ingredients and they are very transparent about everything.
I don't understand why she primarily names her products with "Peptide" when there's only literally one peptide in the INCI and its listed even last on the inci list? :\
I know you use The Ordinary copper peptide serum. Have you tried Bioessance copper peptide serum. Really love it🙂🙂.

Jen Luv talked about the lawsuit and another story regarding this brand in a recent video a couple weeks ago and after hearing the info and speculations that she talked about I wouldn't be interested in supporting this brand(although I don't generally support celeb brands anyway). In my opinion they shouldn't have chosen to stick with this brand name.
i had to tell you i never use the self tanner because of the smell. I can't stand it. After watching many of your videos and seeing how much you like tanologist. I bit the bullet and got it. This is the first time, that I actually could sit with a self tanner on. I didn't wash it off yet, and have no idea how it's going to look after but thank you for making me want to try a self tanner. I also am a huge fan of vaseline lip therapy and will never use anything else. And I have never heard of this clothing brand Rhode, but I have a feeling they're going to become very popular now.

I ordered when it launched. I was sent the wrong order and trying to get help was IMPOSSIBLE. There is no phone number, only email and trying to get help was terrible. That alone, I’m not sure I will order again. When they did respond, they ignored what I was even telling them. I just got my refund and it took over 12 email attempts. I had to threaten to get my cardholder involved. Totally turned off.

What's your skincare routine? You mentioned using both tretinoin and copper peptides. I read somewhere you shouldn't use both at the same time, but I'd love to know your routine since clearly there's great results there!
