    Windows 10 Pro OEM keys are good for Windows 11 too. I have saved money by getting Windows 10 Pro keys and using them for your Windows 11 setup.

    I think my next monitor will be some kind of OLED. I don't think I'll buy another LCD. Price sucks though.

    I wish we could get better stands. I want more flat type stands thank triangle bases. I want more ultrawide videos especially from less well known brands. Anything around 300 bucks would be badass.

    I gotta say, I was kind of reluctant to upgrade to 34" 4k, coming from 27" 1440p. But boy, Dell did an amazing job with their AW3423WF model. The colors, the black, the contrast... Don't get me wrong, it's an expensive monitor but I don't regret the purchase. I can't go back to 1440p after this.
    So anyone who's on the fence with 34" and doesn't have an issue with the 21:9 aspect ratio... go for it. It's worth it.

    • @Donbino
      @Donbino 6 месяцев назад +1

      34 inch ultrawide is 1440p resolution. you’re just getting field of view on the sides. it has the exact same pixel density as 1440p which is about 66% of the pixels of 4k. but i agree ultrawide is the move lol

    • @RicochetForce
      @RicochetForce 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Donbino Yup, you get a better and more immersive presentation while being dramatically easier to run than 4K.

    Adaptive Sync doesn't add latency. While you are below the monitor's refresh rate Adaptive Sync will be activated and will not increase your input lag. If you go above your monitor's refresh rate Adaptive Sync will be inactive and will further have no impact on your latency. Furthermore, especially for cinematic or SP games, if you want to utilize Adaptive Sync for a completely tear-free experience (which we already established has zero drawbacks) it is recommended that you also enable V-Sync and cap your framerate slightly below your monitor's refresh rate. For example in this case you could cap your FPS at 163 or 162 FPS. I recommend limiting your FPS using the in game settings if the game has that option or RivaTuner or NVIDIA's "new" FPS limiter in NVIDIA's Control Panel. All this information is common knowledge among people who have studied this technology and how input latency works. It is a well documented subject.
    Love your content, keep up the good work!

    • @teksyndicate
      @teksyndicate  6 месяцев назад +1

      I took most of my info from this article, which is probably kinda old now... and I've only been using adaptive sync in cinematic games when I notice any screen tearing.
      blurbusters.com/howto-low-lag-vsync-on/
      However, all the recent tests I have seem show similar average latency between on and off, but higher latency spikes... especially in programs that don't do triple buffering. So... no, we haven't "established that is has zero drawbacks," thought most won't notice... some will in certain circumstances, in certain games, etc.
      You are right in saying that it is probably ok to use adaptive-sync and vsync if you cap the FPS... however, this is only if your game has an fps cap or if you are willing to set the max fps in the driver control panel... I don't like using riva tuner because it has issues with some overlays, screenshot apps, and sometimes has caused issues with my old games or OBS. I've even had some games fail to load or crash if riva is open...
      I find this all to be a pain in the ass personally... because I have 2 monitors I use to game... I have a CRT on my right and my ultrawide in the center. I can't just set a maximum refresh rate in the drivers since those two displays have different refresh rates... So, I need to do it in every game (thankfully some games have in-game settings, but not all... and even then I still say, leave it off unless you notice tearing... then we can talk about your options, which are pretty good. I have enabled individual fps caps in certain games... It's not beneath me to do so... I will do it (the old tomb raider games have to be 60fps or the physics breaks)... but still, I only use adaptive sync if the tearing is obvious.

    • @TrigrH
      @TrigrH 6 месяцев назад

      If I'm not mistaken: Adaptive sync stalls the frame until it's complete. So the lag it adds is up to one frame. A tear is less lag than adaptive sync.

    • @Hirens.
      @Hirens. 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TrigrH False. The testing shows that there is no latency added if you compare the same framerate X with Adaptive Sync ON or OFF. So the only increase in latency may appear when you cap your FPS and don't let it go as high as possible.
      As I said there is overwhelming evidence to support my previous statements. (If it matters, I have also worked in the industry.)
      Here you can have some documentation regarding this topic: ruclips.net/video/L42nx6ubpfg/видео.htmlsi=Gbkfkf4DLjOK1PBD

      @Hirens. 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@teksyndicate Addition, you can also use NVIDIA's "new" FPS limiter in NVIDIA's Control Panel to achieve a stable frame rate limit as with RivaTuner or an in game frame rate limiter.

      I don't think so. For that price I can get a real CRT TV and a Wii with homebrew... Or real consoles. It's just too expensive and a real CRT is still more fluid. It does look good and if I had limited space, it would be cool with an OLED.

    Ultrawides, to date, are my favorite display format. They're more practical than having 2 monitors on your desk, they're unmatched in immersion in certain genres, and in others where immersion isn't really a factor the amount of information they display is just awesome to behold. Going back to playing games on a 16:9 monitor feels like playing through an open space in my cupped hands.
