No longer a "come back" story, it's simply a fantastic game that continues to grow
I agree
it gets boring very fast
@@lesliescottw you can say the same about many games

I honestly can not believe that you STILL work so passionately on this game, your work ethic and generosity are truly remarkable guys. kudos to you.
Totally agree. I bought this game when it was boring and pointless. Now look!
well, they made (and still make) plenty of money, so...
@@themax2go all about value for money for me. One time purchase with years of value.
@@themax2go After the shitshow that was the launch everybody assumed to never hear from them again, but they didn't run with our money, they hunkered down and worked their ass off, WITHOUT taking more money. They won back the trust they lost through hard work. That's why they still make money.
Ruined the game took out content, cant buy oxygen for making chemicals, cant jetpack or warp as far and no expedition. As someone who never cheats ended up duping oxygen instantly bored never playing it again
This game is a dream come true for a lot of people. I can't believe they continue to work on it, I'm proud of the developers big time.
No mans sky has come so far in 6 years. Keep up the good work!
You obviously haven't loaded up this update yet. You'll change your opinion pretty quickly once you've figured out what they've done to your save.

How much you work for this game is just admireable. Such incredible work the whole gaming industry should take a look and learn from this!
Yup. A study in how to completely undo 6 years of work in a single update.
CDPR in particular but I'm optimistic about Orion
@@historymaker118 dude, the update is fine. I dont get what youre on about. They simplified and expanded the inventory system. How is that bad?
@@historymaker118 quality of life changes and custom gamemodes somehow ruin the game? yea that makes sense 🙄
@@prodfife There’s a minority (and yes, it is a minority) who are upset because the various overhauls have shifted things around, rescaled stats and led to some reorganisation being required in existing saves. These are perfectly valid complaints but acting like much of this couldn’t (and indeed won’t) be fixed in some rapid fire patches is rather melodramatic. They’ve annoyed some people by making some wide-sweeping changes but no, the game isn’t “ruined” or destroyed.
I hope that for future updates they add multiple biomes on planets, rivers with flowing water, better animation for volcano lavas, bigger villages, rare cities across the galaxy and procedually generated bosses hidden on planets surface and underground.
Nice one. Even if we can't get multiple biomes, I'm down for some environmental challenges that have better visuals.
Yeah each planet having 1 biome made them feel very fake
Instead of adding more things that get old they really need to turn up the power of the random generator
@@kiliandomling5232 u good?
My inventory is completely messed up now.
So proud of this team. Fell in love with NMS before launch and despite it’s rocky start the game has developed into a incredibly wholesome experience. The expansion of NMS feels similar to a child growing up through the years learning what works and what’s possible and I can only imagine the level of joy it brings Hello Games to see how far the game has come. They should be very proud with what they’ve achieved.
"They just keep on giving!"
"Best comeback in gaming history!"

Give me a f*cking break...
1) You can land on any planet or moon and see just about every single thing there is to see on the entire planet/moon within 100 yards of where you land your ship.
2) There is absolutely nothing unique about the content in the entire game. Ruins/abandoned structures/crashed ships and freighters etc, can all be found on just about every single planet and moon (excluding fully barren planets/moons).
3) There is life in literally EVERY SINGLE STAR SYSTEM!!!
That said, these simple facts render the incentive to explore, unenjoyable and unrewarding (imo).
Face the the reality of the facts, people...
Once you've seen between 20 and 40 planets/moons, you've basically seen everything the entire game has to offer.
@@tothesky8799 ya know, you don't need to shit on something someone else likes just because you don't. Pretty sure no one is forcing you to play it or even acknowledge it's existence.
@@tothesky8799 gee bro, grow up. You may not like it, but other people really do. taking a piss on other people just trying to enjoy something is immature and shows you have some bad insecurity issues
@@tothesky8799 Don’t care not reading, I’m playing NMS right now.
@@tothesky8799 This is exactly why I don't play it anymore. The movement and combat feels really clunky. I just want to build a base on an untouched empty corner of the universe, but every planet has ships flying overhead every 5 minutes and a million trading posts. I want to have dog fights in space and battles between fleets of ships. I still can't get over how goofy the aliens look.
You've become a reference for the industry. I'm so glad a studio like yours exist, you are truly amazing
Please, revert tech slots changes or add more tech slots. My whole set up was cut in half and I have no where to install them 😰.
This is great. I would love to see this game introduce Crew Ships with personal quarters for each crew mate. The ship can come with a Missions Board allowing players and NPCs across the galaxy to post request for trades, deliveries & bounties for a reward. Just an idea, looking forward to playing this update.
I’ve been wanting this for years. I suspect it may not be technically feasible within this game engine.
📮
This
I would have an organization is this comes true
NMS is truly one of the greatest comeback stories in gaming
No it's not lol hardly anyone plays it anymore because they haven't added enough actual content. It has 6k monthly players on steam and probably 20k on console. Mostly just quality of life stuff and no scalable endgame, no new enemies, no real point to any of it and nothing to work towards. Combat is still boring and rudimentary. And it's still an inventory management simulator. Let's put all our time into collecting materials and money so we can build fleets and towns and buildings with literally nothing to threaten any of it. We just own it and that's pretty much the whole game. Boring. And once you've enjoyed discovering planets enough, it's the same boring loop.
100% this. 👆
@@RedceLL1978 that's why they are keeping to update it dingus
@@RedceLL1978 no new enemies? boi have you even played the game?
@@RedceLL1978 Agree with some of this although the game is still impressive. They should focus the next major update on the endgame and have hard engame content and threats added. Would make the game so much better. Minecraft tends to suffer from the same issue, no hard endgame content.

The fact that all these updates are free makes me love this game so much. It had its share of issues at launch but I still played the hell out of the game. So glad it's still going strong.
Geez! Every new trailer I see for this game makes it sound like the best game ever all over again! I don't know how you guys do it! Glad to be a day-one supporter.
The amount of care the devs have put into this game is astounding. Bravo!
And its free updates, i am always out of words when they releases godly updates like that
Except this update didnt fix age old issues and bugs... as normal. And destroyed advanced players in the process.
...for cheating customers with false content in the beginning. Delivered an unfinished game and just lied all the time. And now they're fetching everything that should have been in the game from the BEGINNING and the fanboys are freaking out.
No Man's Sky looks simply Beautiful on my pc. I landed on the 2nd planet in my starting system and I'm parked there, It features Rain Showers and an Earthly Temperature. I always wanted to thank Sean Murray and his Team for this game, I got it Day 1 as a preorder and never put it down! : )
Still super proud of this game, I still play it every now and then. So happy for the team and their success!!
Just picked the game back up and after a few hours got a few buddies to re download. This is honestly night and day from when I first played. I can not wait for the future updates.
Has anyone else had the experience with the new update when trying to move items from one inventory to another (ie. starship to freighter) that it doesn’t move the full stack.

so glad about the whole thing to view the progress. i’ve come back many times but forget to much to get back into so glad i can maybe make a good comeback now
You are the hero of video game devs! Amazing work!
This update is rough on late-game players. You can no longer install technology in inventory slots for the exosuit, starship or freighter, any technologies that were installed in inventory are uninstalled (and returned to you, at least). This means that if you invested time and effort into filling your technology and inventory slots with technology, half to two thirds of it is no longer useful. The restriction on three technologies of the same type has been kept, so where my S-Class Explorer used to be able to travel almost 3000 light years, it can now only reach 1500.
I think the intention of this update to mostly help new players since the game launched on Switch at the same time, but you do make a fair point. it doesn't really give back the time players put into acquiring the old slots, but this is still better for a majority of players.
@@rudeboyspodcast i dont know about that. I starryed started playing a couple months ago. Been enjoying the game albeit the building system is a pain if you try to make anything too complexe.
But now my jet pack fuel quantity, power, my running stamina, my shield and hp have basically been halved. This feel like i've been shot in the knee by an explosive 5.56mm bullet. The whole streamlining is nice, but there need to be a upping in the limit of chained/set modules you can have at the same time. While i like that you can now finally unpack an uppgrade, meaning you can keep your environemental uppgrades off untill you really need them, this set back really is hard to diggest
This was a huge step backwards. My character is incredibly reduced by this update. And the new inventory is system is garbage.
@@longinus58 it's not so much garbage as it's a mess and it make no sense that you lose the "cargo" slots wich are supposed to have higher stacking capability. But you do get more space slots.
@@thehatred94 Adding scrolling to inventory. Garbage idea. Smaller icons. Garbage idea. Uninstalling and losing the RNG stat rolls on any module in main inventory. Garbage idea. Nerfing existing characters to extreme levels by removing a long established method of installing mods in main inventory. Garbage idea. Having less overall slots for technology. Garbage idea. The loss of hundreds of hours of farming modules for maxing stats. Garbage idea. Its a mess... and a garbage update. After being with the game for 1000s of hours. Going through all the lies and horribly buggy updates for all these years. Im done. HG can burn for all I give a damn.

I like the free updates and all but I don't understand why change something that worked just fine in the first place. Also disappointed you can no longer ship build and that I've spent weeks grinding to get modules for the best stats just for that to be all gone in One update. Hopefully in the future they can fix this issue Maybe by making technology work in general again or more technology slots.
Thanks Hello Games for your commitment to make the game you envisioned and what the customer base wanted.
It was a Rocky start, but these updates show that you care and as such in future despite what difficulties may occur with any new potential IP, you have earned enough good will.
Good job and thanks for all the hard work !!!
All of this new content since release, FOR FREE, is absolutely amazing. Every update pulls me back in to playing NMS all over again. Keep up the great work everyone at Hello Games, you're all superstars!

@@Spriktor they don’t add price to the game after every update so its not a paid update.
While I appreciate the extra spaceships, storage containers, and nutrient processor slots, I'm really disappointed that the general tab has been merged with the cargo tab. Up until now, there were 3 upgrade modules each for the general and technology items, for a total of 6 upgrade modules, but with the abolishment of the general tab, you can now only equip up to 3 upgrade modules. This has greatly weakened the ship, and I cannot welcome it.

The greatest redemption story in gaming history continues. Impressive.
With a shocking twist! The second downfall of hello games is something they might not recover from.
@@historymaker118 Seriously, stop it. Why are you trying to hijack every remotely positive comment? It’s making you look unhinged.
Please revert the inventory HG. You’ve done such great things to the game, but this is definitely a pain to the community that is most definitely not a QoL improvement but the opposite making high play time not as worth while and making the grind to get good gear to survive and thrive not enjoyable afterwards

For the most part its decent. Specially with boosted inventory space. The major problem is that you can no longer have like, 4 sentinel modules in technology and 4 in inventory. This is a huge set back, same for vehicles and ships. What need to be done is upping the number of modules that can be paired.

After 3,500+ hrs of gameplay, I would have thought HG would have learned to NOT KICK OVER THE FRIGGIN TABLE ON PEOPLE'S STUFF by now, but apparently not.

I just hope one thing. The person who came with the idea to "reset tech" have a really really bad weekend 😊

When I said that NMS will get better by time ever since it came out because I knew this is gonna happen> people laughed at me. Yeah jokes on you know even after all these years I knew I was right! Best part is > this is never gonna stop with the updates ❤️🔥
Well it will, as soon as sales of the game stops, they will stop with the updates. They are not going to do it for free. But sales have been steady over the years due to a very staggered release, with lots of people holding off due to the negative start (personally I liked the game from release)then sales from platform releases, and then the fantastic press it has had as they released updates, which again boosted sales from people who may not be into the genre, but was curious about the "turn around". I'm sure you don't expect them to work for free?
Hats off to you guys for making this game so awesome for the past years!!! I'm hoping for much more updates!! Keep it alive!
