*Several tests later* GLaDOS: Here’s your surprise, now die. *Game Over* Because Wheatley helped Chell escape GLaDOS later, and if he were dead and not there, then GLaDOS would have killed Chell during the “surprise.”
Not so fun fact: the reason she said what she did is because the game thinks Wheatley is the cube. The game is registering that you have an object with you, and giving you that dialogue.
Imagine it had Wheatley fizzled because it registered him as the cube. However yeah you are able to get stuck in that chamber as well as in some others giving you hidden dialogues. You actually have to bring the cube up to the door with you being stuck at the start of the Chamber.
Yeah sadly you were not supposed to grab him in the first place. Imagine GLaDOS and Wheatley had a discussion about you testing with the Cube because GLaDOS roasted wheatley for you liking the cube more than him and him getting envious of something.
“Uh, the script says that I go back to hiding, this is not planned for so if you’d just put me down please? Just uh, put me back where you found me . . . They said if you don’t put me back I’d die so uh, please put me back where you found me . . .”

If you bring the cube with you she fizzles it and says "I think that one was about to say 'I love you' they are sentient of course, we just have a lot of them."
Fun fact! While GLaDOS does not say anything if you bring wheatley through the door as she would if you try to smuggle the companion cube out, as the elevator closes and you descend, after the screen goes dark you can hear the sound of something fizzling.
