Earth Song is SUCH a powerful number that not only gets you in the feels, bit makes you think about how people treat Mother Earth, the environment and the plants, animals and people who live here.
This one... Man. I will never forget my first time experiencing this. My school would always have the 9th grade students be in charge for the Earth Day presentation, where everyone in the school would leave class for an hour to go and gather in the huge church down the road and listen for an hour to the 9th graders talk about and present charts and stuff for things related to important and relevant topics for Earth Day. The students in charge that year decided to play it over a projector onto the white wall near the end of their presentation and having the audio broadcast over the speakers. I never watched Muisc Videos growing up, so this was the first time I saw Michaels work and since I didn't listen to music other than the few Anime CDs I owned either, it was also the first time I experienced this particular song at all. I rememember vividly how one of my classmates turned their head and looked at me because I was crying and so incredibly moved by the message. And I remember going home that day and the feelings and thoughts brought to life by the video sticking with me. I must have been 13 or 14 at the time and it was while I was watching that video that I well and truly UNDERSTOOD how important it is that we take care of our planet and other people. I had known this before, but I always feel like that was the moment I fully realised what was at stake. I'll forever be gratefull for that and I'll forever thank Michael for this experience.

This is the best song Michael ever wrote and sang imo although I love all the other songs he wrote, this amazing timeless song reflects his love for the planet earth, this is the last song he performed on the night of june 24th 2009 before he left us, its like the cry out to the world to protect planet earth before its too late but as you said its still happening big time the wars , greenhouse gas , destroying trees and there comes natural disasters like wild fires, flooding ect all over the world, this song will be relavent for a very long time unfortunately and should be played all over the world to inspire poeple to protect the planet we live, thank you Dave for your great reaction, love and blessings from Canada ❤️🙏👑🤟🦋🌻
