I was in Las Vegas again at the end of June and brought Vito and one of my friends to Whataburger. My friend said it reminds him of a Whopper from the 80's. We all had them add mayo and ketchup to our burgers - no mustard. The onion rings were definitely better than BK. I'll always say it's pretty good, but I don't understand the hype either. 😎🤘
11:17 Keep an eye out for Del Taco opening in Durham this year. Was really impressed by their simple Del beef burrito. Hard shell taco also good but the burrito was impressive. Definitely more meat than Taco Bell. Worth a try if you’re in that area. For Whataburger I like to switch it up between the sweet and spicy bacon burger and the patty melt. Breakfast is good too. Enjoy having these options when traveling to Texas. That Dr Pepper shake is a dud though. But the king of overhype will always be in n out. Good burger paired with awful fries and awful shakes.
As a Texas girl living in South Carolina, Whataburger is a religion, so I was one of the fools waiting in line for 2 hours on the second day they were open in Boiling Springs. Just a few more weeks and the one in Spartanburg will open just 5 minutes away. # 5 all the way with an apple pie. Pie is just like the fried pie McDonalds used to have. Sometimes you just get a craving for a burger at 7:00 in the morning and now I can lol.😊
I'm surprise Whataburger is in SC already this fast. I know we're getting one in Hickory soon, which isn't too far from me. I hope it's good. And I heard VooDew for this year will be out on Sept. 9th, but that just rumors. I'm surprise you didn't get one early yet. :)
Keeping an eye out for VooDew. Didn’t order any early off eBay, I’ve been kinda sick of VooDew for years now and wish they’d stop making them and rerelease Pitch Black instead.

In Detroit we have a huge Middle Eastern population. The largest population outside of the Middle East. Halal restaurants and food are all over here. Not that chain you mentioned, it just in general. The food tastes fresh and delicious
There's a rumor we are getting one here in winston where PDQ was. It's sat empty for a year, and i can't find anything about it online. We will see, i won't be running to try it if we do anyway, though 😅
We don't have Whataburger here but we did have the Ketchups at walmart briefly. I loved their ketchup, but Walmart had it just that one Summer and never brought it back. Amazon has it but it's stupid pricey. Even if the ketchup came back here, I love the Heinz Pickle Ketchup so much. I don't know I'd get the Whataburger. I need to go back and watch some of your Raising Cane videos. There is one opening right across the street from the grocery store I frequent. They are opening straight across the street from Chick-Fil-A😆
It seems Whataburger has the cult following that In-N-Out does. It would be interesting to know now that Texas has both how many Texans will cross over and declare In-N-Out better. I've always heard good things about Whataburger and would really like to try them. Your Whopper style burger looked really good to me. Though sloppily assembled with the tomato nearly falling off.
I am in Texas, work weekends at Whataburger. I've enjoyed both Whataburger and In/Out. I don't think you can really compare the two as each is different. What I can say about Whataburger is there is a bigger variety. You can configure your sandwich any way you want and request any sauce you want. The meat is fresh, never frozen and the salads are fresh not some chopped up iceberg.
What i've learned it varies by location, I had it in Texas twice both times great, had it in Mississippi and it was good, FL it was average and then had it in Tennessee and it was disgusting, ice cold and the staff was clueless. Think maybe outside of Texas it's not the same quality? I say its closer to Culvers than BK, but I still think Culvers is king.

Papi, what’s goin’ on, brodie?! You have to try Halal Guys next time you’re in SC. I don’t care about the religious sh*t behind it, the food itself is absolutely delicious. You should either try the chicken or lamb over rice with plenty of white sauce and a line of red (hot) sauce. Don’t do too much red sauce, the spice is very potent, so a line should be good enough, or just omit it altogether if you don’t want spice. The lamb is extremely tender and far better than the chicken IMO, but I think more people opt for chicken over lamb, so yeah….
For the most part, Whataburger is better than burger king. Their burgers, sauces and breakfast are good. Fries and rings are ok. Try to stay away from the chicken though it is mediocre at best. Too much breading and bland.
IMO all fast food is crap Not to mention Expensive as all get out 😮 I don’t k know how you eat this all the time and don’t get sick of it and go broke Enjoy 😊

Am I the only one who thinks the patties look just as depressing as something from McDonald’s? I’m assuming this stuff is very inexpensive to justify the hype.

Eh I’ve tried the Del Taco in Columbia, wasn’t a huge fan. Throw one in Charlotte and I’ll try it again.

Patty melt is my go to. Don’t care about the fries or anything but love the patty melt. Also when the Dr Pepper shake is back it’s goated.

I work part time at Whataburger. I met a couple of people who came to Texas for management training. One was from Athens. They are very nice people.
No Whataburger locally or nearby. I'd like to try it.

I concur. I love Pitch Black myself. I wish they bring it back in it original grape taste even though the 2023 rerelease is pretty good.
