I have an Air 3 which I purchased in February of this year and I love it. So no I don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon. However I might next year and I’m very happy that my Air 3 batteries and my RC 2 will work with the Air 3S. So maybe I’ll get the upgrade this time next year.
The Air 3 S's credentials as a cutting-edge DJI camera drone include its' LIDAR night-vision obstacle avoidance front sensor acting in concert with now-standard omnidirectional obstacle avoidance sensors, ingeniously married with the ability to photographically memorize the overflown terrain while outbound for use in precise Return To Home default action even if satellite connectivity is lost. The icing on the cake is the Air 3's uncanny ability to "retrace its steps" back to its launch point with unerring accuracy even if the launch point is located indoors where satellite links are absent. With my first-ever Air 3 just a few days from delivery, it will be a while before I snag a discounted Air 3S. Perhaps in a year or so when the inevitable new DJI camera drone model lineup is announced for 2025/26, the Air 3 will fall within my preferred price range.

Wait for the air 4, they normally come out 1 - 2 years and if you don’t want air 4 it will still drop the price of air 3s
