Almost cried when the non-linear flash back part of the movie was discussed. It is like a master class if you are into writing and filmmaking. Absolutely amazing !!
The problem is that we pakistanis misunderstand the word "TRANSGENDER" it means someone who was born totally fine but they FELT like being the other gender and they change their gender through harmones and surgeries etc which is totally unacceptable in ISLAM If you want to give representation and rights to the naturally born khwajasiras they are called "INTERSEX" and they are very rare cases and we should spread awareness in the families to accept them as an exeptions and take care of them as a normal human being not to disown them But by using the word TRANSGENDER for naturally born INTERSEX you are fooling the nation (by saying it to INTERSEX) and also getting international benefits (by showing them that you are spreading awareness in an illeterate society about TRANSGENDERS) We as a society disown intersex people because of our norms which is wrong and you (if you really wanted to spread awareness) should have tried to help the INTERSEX people But now thanks to your joyland the hate have increased for both trans as well as intersex
Thanks for this.. I watched both the versions and both the times, it hit me hard. I liked watching it more in Pakistan as it was with the local people even though it was censored. I hope Joyland, Saim, Rasti, Alina and Ali go places.

Just started the podcast, haven't watched the film yet because I live in Punjab Someone please tell me if I should listen to this podcast or not (I don't want any spoilers of Joyland)
Watched it in cinema. But honestly it didn't hit me as I thought it would be, definitely it's because of the censored parts. I waited for this movie from the day it's trailer released. I request you to release it on any online platform, because you deserve all the appreciation for this piece of artwork. Already ginti ki achi Pakistani movies hain, please don't ruin this one with censorship.
1 minute into the podcast and he goes like “ I have been to LUMS”😂😂😂 classic
So if a LUMS student is asked about their background, they aren't supposed to say where they studied from? Doesn't make alot of sense, does it mate?

Add some intro about the guest in the thumbnail and/or title. Not all of the audience knows them by name.
