I'm much older than you. Years ago, I told a friend how sorry I was to hear of his divorce. He asked, "What are you sorry for?" I then sheepishly asked, "Congratulations?" He replied, "Thank you!"
My dad always said “happily divorced” it took him time to get to that but in the end my parents got along for us. and dad was happy just having me and my brother.
I feel like this is so incredibly real! Me and my ex-wife got a divorce last year and we had been together for 9 years and it was absolutely crazy trying to think about what my life was supposed to be like moving back home regaining myself finding myself as a person and my confidence again! The story is so incredibly beautiful to be able to see you regain that power again! I think it brings Hope to a lot of people who are going through the same situation as you to know that they’re not alone and that there is hope and there is a future and though everything seems uncertain at the time, everything is supposed to play out the way that it’s supposed to Every move that you make in this life will always be a piece of your forever growth! I love following your journey and travels! Keep it up girl! We’re here for you!
Lizzie this was so well done I just have to say. I'm going to keep it from being an essay, but the story, the vulnerability, the demonstration of craft, the images and how well they work with your narrative. REALLY enjoyed this. Well done.
I am very impressed and proud of you. It takes a lot of courage to speak openly about your divorce. I am very sorry it did not work out. You are a brave woman Lizzie. Take care. 🙂
That was an incredibly touching watch. when you saw the volcano for the first time, I actually think I felt your reaction in my own bones. Life is scary baby girl, but you have absolutely got the brains the ability and the will to continue making your life amazing, very inspirational. ❤
Very touching story .. I always Remember what it feels like when you spend the first few nights alone in a place or even a city that you don’t know anyone in and when you used to have someone around you, the silence and emptiness of a place is something beyond description, but I guess you used to it after all thanks for sharing your story i enjoyed the footage of volcano! Keep up the good work. 🙌🏻
I love how you correlated the two stories together and in deciding to take the chance on moving foward with your passions. Congratulations on seeing the volcano and fulfulling a life long dream. Cheers to the next adventure and the process of healing
Congratulations on embarking on this new chapter and accomplishing a lifelong goal! No one goes into marriage expecting divorce, but every relationship ends, either in divorce or death. It’s inevitable. How we keep moving along is the important part. This video was beautifully crafted and the metaphor is certainly not lost on me - taking the leap of a long challenging hike with the weight on your back toward something explosive and scary but beautiful and important. Wishing you all the best moving forward, and may the wisdom of your past guide you toward a meaningful future ❤
You should do this kind of video more often. It is very good narrative and beautiful footage. We enjoy your daily style vlog but I prefer this and will watch on HD.
I am really sorry about the divorce.... really......sorry... And YESS... YOU are strong and you are moving forward!! I love you, you are amazing woman!! Keep it up!!
I hope you continue to create, grow and blossom. The unknown can be scary but if you look at it from a view of curiosity and not from the unknowing, its helpful. Looking forward to new content from you when you are ready.
Oh man i just cried throughout this entire video coz this just made it more real 😢 And also because I'm in a transitional period of my life and your words spoke to me 🙂 That was such a beautiful video, argh the volcano 🤌🏾🤩🤩🤩 Mother nature at her finest!! ❤ Wishing you, and Chris both well on your individual life paths. 💫 ILY Lizzie 🤍
What a great experience! Both physically and mentally. I hope that it helped towards continuing to move forward. This is very inspirational too in pushing myself to aim to get a bucket list item completed.
Beautiful video Lizzie. I loved the storytelling and how you opened up and talked about your feelings. Divorce can be scary and the future might feel uncertain, but believe me, one day you'll wake up feeling stronger and this experience will shape your future self. Take care.
I am very sorry to hear about the divorce. It is very nice how open you are with your followers. I wish I could give you a hug. I am sending you my best wishes, love and good energy. I know you are going to get through this, with the support of the people who love you 🙌🏼
Finally after all this years watching you here and there on RUclips, you have been arrived! And in big fashion! By far your best video. Might be best RUclips video of 2024 period. Keep it coming. This was extremely inspiring ❤
What a touching and inspirational video. I have been married for 37 years and I can't imagine what it would be like to get divorced. Unfortunately at my age you think more about losing a spouse. I think this video will be in my mind if that ever happens. Great work and thank you for keeping it real. FYI - Love that drone footage!!!
Omg I thought I was about to watch another video about Iceland but I’m almost crying now. Hope you are ok Lizzie, and thanks for sharing this process with us.
I too have recently separated from my partner of 11 years, we lived together for 10 of those years and now I'm a single mom. Nobody plans for this, as you say. It's tough, I feel you. Time for healing and moving forward ❤. All the best in your new chapter.
I was happy when you and Chris got married and sad it did not work out. But the video sums it up beautifully moving forward is not easy but is the only way to go. Send it 😁😁
Beautiful video Lizzie. I've been watching you and Chris and the whole "Dope Squad" for years and feel like I know you all in some way...change is inevitable I suppose but I continue to be inspired by the content you create. My best to you as you go forward.
Not finished the video yet, but at 3:40 into this one I felt compelled to let you know that this is a cool video. Really like it so far. I like the style, the story telling. Good work Lizzie. Keep it up and hang in there.
Hey Lizzie, thanks for sharing this, it’s very different from what you usually post but nonetheless thought provoking and beautifully put together. I hope that making and sharing it have helped your progress ❤
Kudos to you Lizzie! Beautiful video. Often cringe when I see people leave the most clueless or tone deaf comments on here about Chris. So glad to see you are doing well. Keep being awesome, being YOU!
Just got back from Iceland, the second time I've visited this incredible place. Unfortunately, there were no active volcanoes this summer, but the island has so much more to offer for us photographers. I hope to see more content from your trip! 😊
Great video! Personally, I really like both of your work; I think Chris's photos are amazing, and on the other hand, there's your style in the videos. It's great that despite not being together anymore, the respect continues. By the way, you look great!
Super beautiful video, thanks for sharing this personal story and amazing experience. Must be insane to see an active volcano! Which eruption was this?
I was so sad when I heard you were divorced. I've been there twice. It is so hard. You think you are going to grow old with a person only to end up alone. I've been single now for 9 years. You sound like a very strong woman. You have friends to help you through. It will definitely take time to heal. Hugs to you. Keep up the adventures. I love your videos. ❤
I am sorry but I wish that you both realize how much you love each other and feel to get together again and be happy together. FOREVER.. Please understand this comment is coming out of pure love to you both.. I choked up when he had uploaded video on his wedding speech... I am sorry, I dont knw the details behind your divorce. I am sorry if this comment hurt you in any way..
Okay, coming back in for another comment. A video like this is good for most everyone, not just those that are going through a major change. Maybe life is now routine and there’s a need to shake things up a bit. Got me thinking…
I have been married twice. 13 years each. Divorce is incredibly painful. It’s a tearing apart. The silence is deafening at times for sure. But there is hope for the future it’s all in how you approach it. DONT RUSH INTO ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP. Your stronger then you think and will survive the process of ups and downs in processing the change. 😊
Not really...if that's your takeaway then so be it but lots of people happily married for decades. Everybody's journey is different but marriage is a waking decision...every....single....day.

we got to see a volcano. thanks
Bravo
I seen you on Mark Bennett at sony new sub.
fondue
well done, sheesh
But why divorce ? Does it mean the last 11 years was a lie ? ? ? Why can't two people stay together until they die ! ?
Noooooo I like Lizzie and Chris !!!!!! This is heartbreaking.
My understanding is that this happened quite some time ago now. Each of them has taken their time to make their own videos about the transition....
I have been married twice. 13 years each. Divorce is incredibly painful. It’s a tearing apart. The silence is deafening at times for sure.
