I feel like people have no clue what introvert means. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re social awkward or anxious, it just means you gain more energy by being alone and you enjoy it.
@@makepeoplemadokay so people that like to be around other people constantly aren't extroverts? Cuz there are definitely people that like to be around other people way more than other people.

This life is temporary. What matters is where you'll spend eternity. You'll either go to heaven or hell forever. Being a “good” person and doing good deeds won’t cover up your sins. The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ because through Him we have forgiveness of sins. God loves us and created us to be with Him. But our sins separate us from Him. So He sent His only son Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead so that we can have a relationship with God, forgiveness of sins, and eternal life. Call out to Jesus right now. To be saved trust in Jesus Christ as your savior and repent (confess your sins to God and forsake your sins). Read the Bible and pray

@@LilacStarvix The Bible is a collection of historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin. (See 2 TImothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 Peter 1:16-21) The Bible is unlike many other holy books in that it is a reliable collection of historical documents. You don't just have one individual who says that he heard from God and everybody has to listen to him. The Bible is written on three different continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was written in three different languages mainly Hebrew and Greek with a little bit of Aramaic. It was written by over 40 authors from multiple walks of life. It was written over a period of more than 1500 years and is internally consistent. This is incredibly important and it adds to the credibility of the Bible. There have been more than 25,000 archeological digs related directly to the subject matter of the Bible and not one of them contradicts anything in it. These findings include cities, names of leaders, weapons from wars, etc. We also have secular historical corroboration that proves that the people, places, and events actually happened. The majority of these findings have confirmed and affirmed the things that we find in the Bible. We can compile the whole Bible with everything we have within 2nd century and 3rd century documents. The evidence for the bible is so much more than any document out there. 1) What should a person look for when checking to see if an ancient text has been corrupted? The person should look for other surviving copies of that text to cross reference for variants. The Bible has the most surviving copies of any ancient document to put its text to the test for variants, or for corruption. There are around 24,000 manuscripts from all over the ancient world, some as early as the second century. If a variant appears in a later manuscript, it can be compared to much earlier manuscripts to discover when the variant was introduced into the text. 2) The New Testament has tens of thousands of ancient manuscripts that can be extensively compared to each other; plus, those manuscripts have the earliest dating to its recorded events of any historical book. In other words, the books of the New Testament were written very soon after the events they describe, leaving no room for legend to creep in. In fact, Paul cites more than 500 eyewitnesses to the risen Christ, “most of whom are still living”-meaning that his readers were free to check out the truth for themselves and confirm the accuracy of what he wrote. 3) What is the value of knowing our manuscript can be checked for reliable transmission? It confirms the teaching found within has been the same since it was written. We can know with assurance that what the authors wrote 2,000 years ago is what we have today.

As someone who was once very bad with social interactions due to a traumatic childhood, the Meta Verse is NOT the way to get over it. It tends to make it worse. Real interactions, one step at time, are the only way to confront those fears from my experience.
I related so much to Jarvis in that moment. One time, I met some new people, and one of them immediately called me out for being nervous. I politely made some small talk and then left them, and never sought them out again, and our one mutual friend has now moved states, so I think I'm safe.

Can we get some Slim appreciation in the chat? Dude was one of the nicest guys there and literally just cared about making basketball shots. What a fella
Honestly, him refusing to turn on the mic makes me wonder if he's deaf or mute or has some speech impediment. Maybe autism. Obviously, someone could just not want to talk, which I get. Just food for thought.
@@jasperlee1025fuck same i don't even have speech issues it's literally just so stressful w my autism to like... randomly communicate w people online in spaces where i don't know the social rules at all (lmao jus like real life)
jarvis being caught out listening in on peoples conversations twice and then just legging it (well, not actually legging it since he didnt have legs but u know what i mean) is the most relatable he's ever been lol
Finding a random guy that never says a word but silently lends you a hand, slowly building a relationship through nothing but silent, friendly interaction, is a perfect microcosm of my experience with MMOs.
this is so funny and relatable because i had the exact same experience when i started playing valorant, a game where the team needs to communicate a lot to win, (most of the times, sometimes things just go smoothly if it's a casual match) and tbh it's even worse because it's a known "toxic" community and i'm a woman but. when you let it all go and just start minding your own business, muting dumb people and reporting them, it really helps with social anxiety. i slowly started turning on my mic to compliment my teammates, suggest strategies, make observations and now i got a discord server with nearly 15 people in it and we all play together basically everyday. ig my point is that if you endure enough (we shouldn't have to, but yk..) you'll meet some real cool people at places that are basically hellholes, and it's such an amazing bonding experience. i still have awful matches social wise that leave me drained, but the expectation of maybe meeting someone cool is what keeps me playing not just valo, but any game with a social aspect. not metaverse though meta sucks lmao
Somebody needs to buy that guy an actual video game, dude would have an aneurism trying to comprehend the complexity of the gameplay being more than throw ball and number go up
No surprise that the silent dude was dope. It's super common in VRChat to have people chilling and refusing to talk, using other means to communicate. It's usually an anxiety thing and it's just a known and widely supported part of the culture. Pretty cool.
As someone with social anxiety, I've often wondered about getting a headset and trying to make friends in the metaverse. After watching this, I have decided that the metaverse will be my personal hell loop when I die.
I've thought about doing that for VRchat, but then I remind myself that I'd be too scared to actually talk to anyone and end up never using the headset due to pure social anxiety.
This is 100% my experience with VR chat, but honestly I have had some very nice interactions there. There's an entire subculture of "mutes", Aka people who either can't speak, or just are too socially anxious to speak, so if you "join" a group just being quiet and making Hand gestures (or using emotions on avatars that have it) you can find people to hang out with that are pretty cool with it. VRchat Also has way more interesting worlds and avatars and its easier to connect with someone over a shared interest that way. There are also worlds where you can play card games or virtual sports (like mini golf) so you can spend time with people without talking to them. What I did was slowly build my confidence by playing alone, then playing with others with my own mic AND others' audio muted, then with others audible and my own mic off, until finally I found tiny groups in worlds that interested me that I could talk to... usually only for a few minutes before getting so anxious I would just leave. But it's definitely fun when you find good people.
@@skeetsmcgrew3282 I'm not supporting Zuck's dystopian idea of a social life, so I also won't see an open metaverse world as anything more than a public voice chat. @@0304dina Yeah, I'm with you. Obviously this is far, far from becoming a household item. But in 20 years, who knows? If you don't treat it as a real place it kinda loses the immersion. I wouldn't be surprised if an entirely unique set of social rules start to apply to these spaces, including things like public chat. As someone who can't even stand phone calls, this would never become my outlet for socialization. But for other people, yeah I get why you'd apply common social rules
@@skeetsmcgrew3282 VRChat exists. With its own set of social online rules. And somehow everyone has fun over there, while the Metaverse is a bleak outlook on what a social life could become, if you let a sociopath like Zuckerberg make new social constructs. yeah in real life you still expect some amount of privacy. like if someone comes over to my friends and I having a conversation in a bar its rude to just stand and listen or butt into the conversation. This is an online chat room. you do not get privacy in an online chat room. Thats not how this works. I'd just stand around to piss them off more.

"This is final arguments, so no more evidence" is a surprising level of understanding of court proceedings for a kid. Respect to those weird little monsters.
Kids have way to much of an understanding of court proceedings. I have a vivid memory of one week during my after school program when I was like seven and the oldest kid there was maybe 10 where we just all got really into playing pretend court where there was a jury rotation and we all voted on who the judge would be and then the judge would pick the defendant who would then pick their attorney. And we just like. Did that. For a week. Like we actually followed the court structure and everything. I’m sure we got some stuff wrong but as a small child it felt like we were being super smart and professional. I found out next year that in 3rd grade they apparently do a mock trial for English class so that’s where all those older kids probably got their info from. But still. Impressive nonetheless. Kids can really organize shit well for games of pretend.
Even just spaces for older people to get together digitally could be amazing. Cause loneliness among the elderly is an absolute issue. It could be a cool addition. And yeah the host was so damn sweet. I hope all of them are doing amazingly
I'm already having so much trouble telling my very sweet and deeply professional online boomer therapist that it's hard for me to spill my guts to a pair of concerned eyebrows and a forehead, nobody needs that kind of stress
the main take i got from this is adults are actually (generally) pretty ok and welcoming. maybe bc it's so hard to find another adult nowadays like he said. but i think you got a great take on it. just like zoom helped a lot of ppl doing therapy throughout the pandemic, this could be a good tool (not exactly metaverse, but VR or AR) for group therapy or enhancing social experience for elderly or heavily disabled (phisically or mentally, sometimes it's just very hard to leave one's house or care unit) people who might feel lonely
@@clementinedangerwe all have different experiences with therapy. it might work not work for you, but might help some other folks. it's important to have all alternatives to patients at the table so they can choose what fits their experience
That was actually quite an amazing video. I rarely stick around for 30+ minutes on youtube in the first place. Metaverse was supposed to be this new best thing but, from the moment it was announced, any VR pioneer kinda knew that it wouldn't work. We were all hopeful!
I love how the most human interaction you had as a socially awkward person was some random nice silent person by themselves. Goes to show there's a lot more to being a likeable person than being able to stand around and blab.
Kind of reminds me of Dark Souls multiplayer. There's no chat function in the game, so whenever you co-op or invade another player it's all totally silent. We communicate through gestures and emotes yet the interactions always feel so genuine. Sometimes even PvP interactions turn friendly. It's neat! There's a lot more to online communication than just talking.

What’s up with that, Danny, Drew and Jarvis all frequently talk about being socially anxious. Kurtis is without a doubt the least I can’t specifically remember anything but he’s probably said it at some point. It’s like it’s just an assumption anyone our age (and probably younger) are fucked mentally. While you still have social anxiety at first, it's infinitely less than it would be IRL - so you can eventually learn to overcome that barrier of just saying hi to someone you've never met before. Recognize that actions alone won't bring ultimate salvation. It's not about counting good deeds against the bad. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Believe in the transformative power of love and forgiveness embodied in Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so we could find ours. The Bible states in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
True change and enlightenment come when we turn away from our old life and towards a new one - one guided by compassion, love, and humility. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
Express your faith, not only in words but also in actions. Embrace love, kindness, and righteousness, just like how Jesus lived His life. As Romans 10:9 suggests, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Consider baptism, a symbolic gesture of your new journey, your decision to leave the old behind, and embark on a new life in Him. Matthew 28:19 encourages us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Lastly, remain steadfast. Consistency in following Jesus and His teachings is the key. As Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commands."
This is not a demand but a warm invitation. An invitation to explore, to understand, and to experience a love that transcends human comprehension. A love that saves, heals, and brings life.

(See 2 TImothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 Peter 1:16-21)
The Bible is unlike many other holy books in that it is a reliable collection of historical documents.
We can know with assurance that what the authors wrote 2,000 years ago is what we have today.

this is so funny and relatable because i had the exact same experience when i started playing valorant, a game where the team needs to communicate a lot to win, (most of the times, sometimes things just go smoothly if it's a casual match) and tbh it's even worse because it's a known "toxic" community and i'm a woman but. when you let it all go and just start minding your own business, muting dumb people and reporting them, it really helps with social anxiety. i slowly started turning on my mic to compliment my teammates, suggest strategies, make observations and now i got a discord server with nearly 15 people in it and we all play together basically everyday.
ig my point is that if you endure enough (we shouldn't have to, but yk..) you'll meet some real cool people at places that are basically hellholes, and it's such an amazing bonding experience. i still have awful matches social wise that leave me drained, but the expectation of maybe meeting someone cool is what keeps me playing not just valo, but any game with a social aspect.

Respect to those weird little monsters.
very real playing pretend is a great way to teach kids
The tangible pressure put on jarvis to show up to jury duty was too real.
Right?
The senior book club is so sweet. Id love to see more of that in VR spaces. Might be great for group therapy sessions too

Jarvis' social anxiety speaks to my soul. Please pray for us socially awkward introverts lol
With so many people being canceled at the moment it’s on my mind and I betcha there’s probably a strong correlation between social anxiety and them not doing shit that would get them cancelled.
@@monhi64 social anxiety is a real thing. it is not just "not doing shit that would get them cancelled"

Yeah. I must admit, that was hilarious.
it's so dystopian to me how these children would rather spend hours with total strangers on some terribly made virtual world, making hateful and just unfunny derogatory 'jokes', than spend a few hours hanging out with their friends outside irl

Just so you might have some peace of mind, the kids around me get on when it's time to go home from running around outside all day/ being at school. There are children all over the world who step in, all different time zones are filled.

To those who are still seeking, still questioning, still not sure about their faith, here's an invitation.
Understand that we, as humans, are limited. We often make mistakes, go astray, and lose our way. It's not about perfection; no one is. As it is stated in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
This is not a demand but a warm invitation. ...
seriously, i've done the same thing on so many online games where you're supposed to be social. the moment someone talks to me i panic, even if they're incredibly nice lol

Why did Jarvis abandon his main account????
this game is actual hell on earth. it is the most terrifying thing of all time. its like taking all social things you can do, cranking the awkward meter by a ton, and taking away the good part of socializing which is you are at least doing something outside with people you might get to hang with in the future.
yea, i feel like at least on vrchat there’s a ton of game worlds that you can go in alone, and end up making friend bc of the need of teamwork, but horizon just seems like all the chat worlds and that’s it.
meanwhile celestenet:
@junmuta5153 celestenet kinda fire tho bc i never use it to meet new ppl i just ask existing friends to get on so we can play together or i can guide them thru certain stuff and we ignore everyone else LMAO
Hello Jarvis! Thank you for stopping by the Thrive Pavilion. I regret that you didn't stay to join in on the conversation and observe the dynamic between our members. Thrive is a wonderful community of older adults who engage in various activities, such as book clubs, discussion groups, game nights, and even visits to the theater. I apologize that your experience with Horizon Worlds wasn't what you expected. However, we strongly believe that our group helps a vulnerable segment of society overcome social isolation. You bring up a good point: I'm all for protecting kids from adults, but I really think we also should protect adults from kids
YES. I recently got back into fandom because I connected with an adults-only fan group. Kids and teens deserve their spaces, but we adults deserve spaces away from kids and teens.
@@swimmyswim417 It used to be that if you were a kid and wanted to join an adult space you'd lie about your age. I don't know why kids act this way nowadays (im gen z, not some old boomer) when they enter a fandom space they clearly shouldnt be in and cause an outrage about the content itself (like if they see nsfw images or adult topics) it just makes me sad since its so easy to lie about your age when making an account moderation barely tries to ban minors. Only alternative is giving your identity while making an account, which i think is way too invasive
I laughed unreasonably hard at your sheer awkwardness lol, you teleporting home after direct eye contact was comedic gold.

honeslty? that one kid was like the only wholesome one. the ones shouting slurs and sexist jokes weren’t the bad ones to you ..?
@@justjaein It’s just because she sounded like a toddler and I felt very worried thinking about her talking to strangers. I felt panic because, like, that bowling baby is one thing, it won’t remember shit, but the depths of exploitation and cruelty that an unsupervised toddler could encounter on Zuckerberg’s shitty scammy trash heap make me shudder to think what kinds of impressions that could make on a developing mind.
@@Quaila ahhh! now I understand. I thought you meant the child themselves made you panic, but now I understand you’re worried for the child and not the other way around. I totally agree, it’s scary that all these children are on these types of spaces.
@@justjaein Oh I guess the urge to run away made that unclear lol I meant like run to find a responsible adult because even I don’t want to think about what kind of bad influence I could make on a preschooler by absentmindedly muttering swears or a Bush did 9/11 joke or something
I can confirm, teens and preteens are either the most innocent and sweet people you'll ever meet, or, the most sexist, homophobic, and racist beings on the planet
Edit: yes, I agree there is some middle ground, I made a hyperbolic statement for the point of comedy
Teens and preteens are like your grandma. Either they’re super accepting and kind or they’ll send you to hell for being slightly different to themselves.

glad I'm more of the nicer type
the rude ones are mostly the ones in absolutely massive groups which makes them care a lot less about eachother
i am SO glad that jarvis talked about how social anxiety can DEFINITELY carry over into VR. i got a headset a while back and have spent my fair share of time walking up to groups and standing there silently listening.
I mean, even if it’s virtual your brain still knows that those are Real People™️ on the other side 😳 I definitely struggle with this too
I can’t even chat in big group chats on what’s app😂 too many people
I'm not gonna lie VRChat was one of the things that helped me to ease my social anxiety a lot. While you still have social anxiety at first, it's infinitely less than it would be IRL - so you can eventually learn to overcome that barrier of just saying hi to someone you've never met before. Once you crossed that barrier once in VR, it's so much easier to cross IRL, too...
Tbh this seems waaaaaaay worse to me than real life interactions
@@Wltrwllyngaeiou As someone introverted I find it a billion times harder to talk in VRChat than IRL. I'm quiet IRL but if you talk to me I'll respond and over time in a familiar place like work I'll start initiating conversation. In VR chat though, knowing you're just talking into a microphone makes it way more awkward. When someone approaches or speaks to me in VRchat I just straight up flee instead.
This is exactly what I need - an environment where I can get constant social anxiety, but with the added perk of shitty graphics
When Jarvis was just awkwardly standing outside of people’s groups not saying anything anxiously, I’ve never felt so seen because that was my entire high school experience 😭
