- These were test games done on the PTB, where I played with a few friends who have a ton of experience with comp DbD. We played against a very skilled killer player and tried our best to make something happen against this new twins update that seems insanely OP.

Here's the thing. I like that they're being ambitious and not just slightly tweeking their addon numbers and calling it a rework. However, there is no way a competent balance team thought this was a good idea. They really should start communicating with players in the community who have many hours on certain killers before doing major reworks like this
just cuz years have passed doesn't mean they were working on twins the whole time, no shot this took anymore than a week or two
Coding I guess
The problem is that Victor has to be fast for map-mobility reasons but once he's in chase its like playing against a killer with like 60 stacks of Bloodlust. Its just impossible to ever gain distance. He can't be allowed to down people like a normal killer if he's that fast. Its the same reason why Legion can't down people normally in Frenzy.
I can see every survivor running flip flop power struggle, smash hit and maybe no mither and fall under a pallet against this
Or you could swap no mither for tenacity or unbreakable if you want the chase to be 12 seconds instead of six because they'd have to hit you twice
Maybe that jonah perk that gives you speed when hit?

One thing that came up to me is... What if BHVR make it so you can kick Victor at any time if you're healthy?
Most of those hits I see Victor just goes to a survivor and basically hugs them while charging the pounce. This way Twins player can either
a) injure survivors with Charlotte first
b) try and balance the distance between them an a survivor they're pursuing, so they're not close enough to run to you and kick you, but also not far enough so they can dodge and weave your pounce
Also this would create a counterplay where two survivors can run together and while one tanks the hit the other one kicks Victor
Just a wild guess, really. I love the fact that BHVR are trying to give The Twins some love, I really do. This is just too much love, lol
Imo if they want this version of Twins to be somewhat balanced, they need to make Victor slightly slower, make his pounce slightly slower, give him the footsteps effect that Chucky has, make Victor's attack recovery speed slightly slower, and give you the ability to kick Victor if he hits someone with endurance
And maybe... maybe reduce the haste Charlotte gets to 5%
Victor Speed is not the problem. It’s not latching on to healthy survivors. Slow victor would break him, making many things infinites and making them a stomp or be stomped killer
They fundamentally broke the design, tweaking a few numbers will make them suck to play *and* still probably OP

@p2c331 yeah that's why I said maybe. I don't have a problem with the haste, but the guys in the video were making it seem crazy, and I don't have to ptb so I really don't know
I think Victor would be a bit more balanced if the survivor got up after killing him on a downed survivor or it filled the downed bar a chunk of the way so they can get up faster,it could be interesting to have maybe have addons that inflict with the broken status for X amount of time when the survivor gets up. Hard to say for sure though people tend to over exaggerate new changes/killers so it'll be interesting to play against an average killer.
Remove immunity after a hit so survivors can kick him would be easier i think thats what most people are complaining about

Would the new Twins work if Viktor had a longer cooldown, even on successful hit, but was still immune, and slightly longer charge time? That way hits still gave people time to get away, and it wasn't as guaranteed? Maybe slight speed decrease?

I can see a problem with letting survivors kick victor after a hit. Does the survivor just get the kick every time they get hit or does a skilled twins just dodge the kick every time? Do we have to continue to work in pairs so the other survivor can get the kick?
Can't wait to go against this in solo queue in a few weeks...

It’s insane that hug teching is “problematic” but this was even considered… nerf high skill killer, buff brain dead killer.
As a non-player perspective, the rework looks alright
My guess is that BHVR had the same look unfortunatelly

What of instead of downing you, Victor only keeps you as 'on the ground and pickupable' until he let's go? Like a passive exponential for specifically being downed by Victor.

Also to note; Victor makes survivors unable to be picked up if he's on them. This includes Adrenaline. So now instead of adrenaline countering a character, a character counters adrenaline.
Would it have been a better idea to just give Charlotte the ability to choose swap places with Victor on wake up? Idk what are you guys think would’ve been a better rework than this?

i think putting a timer on how long victor can be out like legion in his frenzy, then i cool down when he returns like chucky

I feel like this could be both fun and balanced if Victor simply had a timer. Give him like 45-60sec out, then he naturally goes on a long cooldown like Oni/Legion
so he's overpowered as hell and theres no chance to survive. but he last only x amount of time. ye that sounds fun...
oni has counterplay even after getting his power.

@@DeputyFish I see what you're saying.. Does seem like the chase with them is simply busted, but so is nurse and blight. At least Charlotte has to traverse to come pick you up after, makes plenty of room for counter play in setting up for going down and afterward. Perhaps that isn't the most fun, but they seemed to be having a good time with the rezz builds. If she couldn't be as oppressive they would have won way more easily that round

Does dropping a pallet on Victor kills it? If it does, I guess survivors can run “Any Means Necessary” to drop a pallet after Victor hits them, kill Victor, then reset pallet.

Twins was never bad just boring cause they used to encourage slugging

Just curious as to why you chose to stay injured the entire time instead of healing to full? It would have made sense to run resilience for the gen speed boost.
My guess is that Victor could take them from fully healed to downed so fast that healing just doesn't make sense. You spend 16 seconds healing. The first time Tofu went down, it took 6-7 seconds. That's just not economical. Better to put pressure on gens as much as you can.
Resilience would have been a good adjunct to their strategy

If this could go live, BHVR is like
1. Overtune Twins.
2. Sells Twins DLC for a week.
3. Let people have power trip a week, and everybody else fell miserable.
4. Revert/Corrert the changes.
5. ???
6. Nerf Pig.

Survivors need two play in pairs of two and run Were Going To Live Forever / For The People and buckle up. By the time he downs a survivor you’ll be up by the time the killer gets there
This one is so broken that I'm fully comfortable saying that there was 100% NO play testing in house, just straight to ptb.

I heard you guys say "just let you kick victor after a hit but revert the cooldown", but I think they should alow a pallet stun/kill after a hit but not kicks, so if they are in a dead zone its not just free. Instead slow you down for 3 secs or so after a hit, to give the distance you would normally get with any other killer, and giving counterplay at pallets.
I wish Chucky was like victor

They should keep both Victor grabs, so he could not hit twice in neither situation and the killer needs to play Charlote and be more strategic with Victor.
Victor has always been something in the game that needs proper balance because it's way too easy to hit
I don't even think the 10% Haste is what's making Twins OP, Victor can carry the entire match all by himself!
I think they might have succeeded in turning everyone into a Twins main, I know I will be.

If everybody says this phrase and it's NOT in regards to nurse, That's horrifying, and not in a good way.
Idk if I can explain this, but if everything stays the same EXCEPT that Victor’s direction gets locked once fully charged and only pounces after a slight delay and Twins becomes way more fair. Then they can still be extremely strong but Twins can become more of a read-based killer and requires a high skill level to be that strong.
Also, Plot Twist completely denies Charlotte’s haste because the down won’t come from Victor. It lame to be forced to bring a specific perk but that’s another good counter

So for the "Competitive" DBD tournaments and such, my question is are the Survivors allowed to be in comms with each other?
Kinda always thought that defeated the point of playing survivor, being able to always know where the killer is and having access to information that you otherwise shouldn't have in game just seems kinda meh.
Just my two cents though, love the content! I'll be surprised if Twins stay like this lol
I think it's hilarious that they inadvertently made a D tier killer OP.
There is no way the full changes are going live.
Twins was never D tier, as evidenced by the fact that all they did was let Victor two-tap you. They didn't change his ability to pounce you at all, the only change they did was letting him pounce you *_twice_* so Twins definitely wasn't D tier. Killer was always strong as fuck, its just that no one wants to play a slug heavy killer who "felt clunky, wah wah wah".

Twins isn’t d tier. The issue with them is that you had to really work to get some kills and if u made a slight mistake it can lose u the game

Honestly wglf+buckle up on everyone and then just move as a 4 man unit against Victor. Like yeah you all get Injuried, but once he downs someone insta kick and 2 man wglf will pick up in 4 seconds with everyone getting endurance
i wish people would stop telling BHVR, that things are "too good". let us enjoy shit dammit. i wanna see nemi's whip insta-downing or dredge being able to throw whole lockers at the survivors , but yall are just telling the devs, that stuff is "unfair".

I think the re work for the twins is good tbh I play on console and from when I first started playing dbd every vid I watched said that twins was the most ideal for console players I think they should keep it the way it is because in fairness I think console players should maybe have an a plus or s tier killer but like I said jus my opinion

That’s if the killer doesn’t know how to double back and remember he’s smaller so he’s harder to see and track

ptb Victor is too hard to dodge with one +m/s add on. Even without an +m/s add on he is still very hard to dodge

Tcm is trash bc of the devs, gameplay loop at max lvl is incredibly repetitive and there is no chance for the killers to win
games are supossed to get better with age but dbd hell nah the game keeps on getting worse
