There will be a cure. Dont worry. Eventually, they will figure something out. In 5-10 years we’ll have another situation like fx-322. And if that one fails too, we’ll have another after that. Humanity wont give up all together. And especially if hearing loss gets as bad as predicted by 2050, it will become more of a primary focus to get it fixed.
Hang in there man. Treat your loss however you can now. Think of it as a temporary fix (even if “temporary” means 10-20 years in this case) FX-322 was one failed experiment. There will be many others soon. And at least one of them will eventually succeed.

Slightly off-topic, but why do we humans need the ability to hear frequencies between 20 Hz and 120 Hz - frequencies you would hear much better from a good-quality subwoofer than from an ordinary speaker - when just like all of the frequencies between 12 kHz and 20 kHz, they’re not critical for speech? Why would the ability to hear low frequencies not critical for speech be any more important for daily living than the ability to hear high frequencies not critical for speech is? Both of those abilities are absolutely vital for full enjoyment of high-quality audio with very good bass extension, boosted “sub-bass” and very good treble extension, but neither of those abilities are absolutely vital for spoken communication, so again, why would the ability to hear frequencies between 20 Hz and 120 Hz be any more important for daily living - without the high-quality audio involved at any point! - than the ability to hear frequencies between 12 kHz and 20 kHz is?

Hello Dr. Cliff and team! I really would like to thank you for your videos and material. 6 months ago I experienced severe tinnitus in my left ear, right after a heavy sinus infection. I went to my ENT who said I had mod to severe hearing loss in both ears, and said it was most likely NIHL, which is weird as I am not really exposed to loud noises. Being in my 50's and having no prior hearing issues this has severely depressed me. I am still trying to piece this together, but I have to say your channel and videos have given me hope and perspective. I am really hoping for some type of treatment. There is a Harvard stem cell study that sounds promising. Also a question...is there a danger to your brain or nerves from over-isolating against general noise with earplugs? I heard this may be detrimental in the long term. Again ty for your work and info, it has really helped. Cheers.
**correction it wasn't a stem cell study, it is a molecular treatment and Dr. Cliff covered it in an exciting new video.

Let me tell you something, when we talk about hearing loss treatment, we are talking about an idea that worths hundreds of billions dollars. So, it is not so easy to reach that goal, but scientists will find it out in future. (Maybe after 15-20 years or more 😅😢)

Cliff, you bad boy. How dare you give people hope, LOL.
Ultimately, it's still up to the individual to take responsibility for their own healthcare, not necessarily just listening to information found on the internet. While there was some promise from Frequency Therapeutics, waiting for the miracle cure and ignoring the solutions currently available is a mistake, as you indicated towards the end of the video. Hearing aids and other current solutions (cochlear implants, surgical solutions for conductive losses) can still provide some help, even if they aren't a full-blown cure.
People should go with what DOES work for now while waiting and hoping for a real cure, and they should wait until it's available.
