Hogen was a name imposed by japanese when they attempted to
      wipe the languages out.

Thank you for this wonderful song! I run a blog called "Okinawan Online" that's devoted to assembling Okinawan resources and teaching the Okinawan language to an English-speaking audience. Is there any place or anyway for me to find the lyrics to this song so I might be able to use it as teaching material on my blog?

Michael Duffy yes the original song is, but it would be odd if the band changed their name each time to the origin of the song. 😉 Okinawa Americana is all about bringing the two main cultures on Okinawa together by sharing the beauty of each though combining their music. On this track, it isn’t simply translated into Okinawan it is a re-crafted song that aims to capture the essence and message of the original in a retelling that incorporates the Okinawan themes and essence also...thanks for watching and taking a minute to share your thoughts.
