- Lord Larys Strong checks on Queen dowager Alicent Hightower and voices his concern for her absence from the Small Council meeting. He notices a cup containing what's most likely Moon Tea and suggests that Alicent hasn't been herself. He also makes subliminal accusations regarding Ser Criston Cole, and Aegon II's claim.

There isn’t a character that plays their part more accurately than Larys. Top notch acting
I heard that he was gonna play Richard III before that and honestly I can see him doing an excellent job in this role aswell
He’s probably one of my favorite characters to watch, terrible person sure but it’s like having peak little finger back with even more evil

Great dialogue. Finally Alicent accepted that Viserys's wishes is of no impact going forward. The cycle of vengeance is already on the run.
It’s a sin to deny your appetite. Love that line.

Alicent has an idea that he knows. Each topic he gives hints as to the truths, it’s insane.
Knows what exactly? that she is banging crispy or viserys never chose aegon. Either way he is aware of both

She doesn't just have an idea, she understands that he knows everything.

so, this seems to be two pronged on larys's part:
1. he is looking for information on allicents affair with criston cole ans giving it his blessing? he basically told her "yeah we are all horny and we shouldnt deny it" but also pointing out that he knows.
2. he is curious about allicent looking at the histories. maybe she is trying to find out if the song of ice and fire is real and larys is looking for info on it. maybe he had a spy (or a rat) in the spet when allicent and rhanerya spoke.
I think rather he feels Alicent getting uninvolved in the political businesses of late is intriguing and he then can feel her now not believing her son should have ascended the throne. He is already trying to pit Aegon against Alicent (we saw that in the previous episode) so he probably hopes to put more substance to his deceptions. Let's not forget he is now the master of whisperers. I don't think he has any knowledge of the song of Ice and Fire at all.
@frname7665 I'm subscribing to the larys is a skin changer/greenseer theory. I think he is on the old God's/white walkers side as well. he just seems to be creating chaos for the sake of making this war as bad as possible. if he had a hint of the convo between allicent and rhanerya I could see him being curious about the prophecy.
That final "yes it did" with Ramin Djawadis theme atop of it is just incredible. So subtle but one of my favourite scenes of the season
people don’t give master/mistress of whisperers enough credit, those people are dangerous as hell

Note that she says Rhaenyra's followers and Aegon's followers. She separates herself from both groups. She no longer believes in her son's claim to the throne. She's resigned herself to the fact that this war is just a power struggle amongst the lords, with right or wrong having no bearing on any of it.
This is a woman who has lost her faith.

Larys Strong is fucking goated. Comes in and basically shellacs the hell out of Alicent just to confirm his piecemeal suspicions about Criston Cole as Hand and Alicent's anxiety over the Targaryen prophecy

@@joeloates1685 I would say so. Knight of the Seven Kingdoms happens concurrent to Rivers' run as Hand for Maekar I but doesn't appear until Hedge Knight (in subject) & Mystery Knight (in character)

So what exactly was Alicent doing at the beginning of the clip with those rocks? When I watched this episode last night, I admit I was puzzled by that part. I’m guessing this takes place shortly after she drinks the moon tea, but idk if that has anything to do with it or not.

@@jenniferlichtie811 ah OK, makes sense especially since Orwyle said moon tea disagrees with the gut. Just a question of if she was actually in the early stages of pregnancy or not since she had a hand over her stomach right before drinking it.
@alexanderkuechler1782 She was pregnant, and the tea was to abort it. What a lot of pro lifers don't know, or don't care to know, is that when a woman has an abortion. It's not as simple as 'hey I don't want to be pregnant so I'll get an abortion'. It's actually a pretty hard decision a lot of women make because of various reasons. And the abortion itself is not as easy as they think. The process can be quite traumatizing and it can affect women psychologically and emotionally, not to mention physically, if something goes wrong. And it can take days to recover from it because the process makes women feel like they are having the most painful period in their lives. Some have equated the pain to early labor pains.

Book Alicent wasn't exactly pushed aside, it's more that she disapproved of Aegon firing Otto and Aemond rushing into battle but her sons wouldn't listen to her.
