Dakota Bar (2018) is probably the best live showcase for TW's first LP, XXI Century Blood (2017), and even some earlier songs. A great show by these young ladies - love their first LP a lot!

It's not that we know which songs to suggest, it's that The Warning spoils us by writing and performing great music. There is not a single song on their 50+ song catalogue that is a stinker, they're all great, some better then other but not one that is filler. A note about Black Holes, Pau wrote that song when she was only 13 after reading an article in the newspaper about someone going through the struggles of drug addiction. Oh and when you see her awkwardly smile at the beginning, she is reacting to hearing the crowd sing along to her song for the first time... she was not expecting that. In my opinion the solo in Show Me the Light is one of Dany's best. Looking forward to more from this series of videos.
Paulina wrote both these songs at the age of thirteen. I love both of these performances! "Black Holes" was later in the show. You can see the shoes had come off by then. I love the subtlety of Dany's back up vocals, being careful not to sing over Pau. Paulina says she doesn't write love songs. "Show Me the Light" is my favorite one.
Wife and I saw them in Chicago back in April at Bottom Lounge on a stage not much bigger than that. It was amazing. Did the meet and greet with them. Talked to their dad Luis and Rudy briefly. And then them for a little bit. They are all the nicest and most appreciative people. During the show, we were no more than 15-20 feet away from Ale on the left side. It was amazing watching her play, smile and just have fun up there. Pau interacted and smiled at her sisters while going nuts behind the drums. Danny was just fireball of energy and even came over to our side a handful of times. They can work a large venue and small crowd just the same.
At Reverb in May, really small venue. Was up front off to Ale's side; she does some little things you don't normally notice unless you're up close. Although she isn't as flamboyant as the other two, Ale she has her own thing going. Awesome concert. Rudy peeled off Ale's set list and gave it to us!
My first Warning concert was their Mayday tour back in April 2022 in the Marquis Theater, Downtown Denver, Colorado. It was a small, intimate stage, maybe around 300 people. The drums and bass vibrated the wooden floors in the venue. I was within spitting distance of Dany. Was my favorite concert of all time. I've seen many many metal and rock concerts (Iron Maiden, Kiss, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Journey, Twisted Sister, ect...)since the '80s...The Warning are my favorite performers by far.
Special moment caught during Black Holes very rare to see Pau break character. It was because this was one of the first times the crowd was singing her song back to her. Dakota Bar is the best for early Warning!!!! P.S. Dany's best solo in Show me the Light IMO Hope she does more of this in the future.
Excellent choice(s) in dipping back into The Warning pool of material. As the other commentors point out as well, the maturity level of the lyrics is astounding- at any age. Taking it full circle to the "instrumentation by committee" (two of three votes) they touch on in the "Mayday in the Making" series is evident even in their early pieces. Aside from their social media accessibility, the fact that they offer up live performances of nearly all (perhaps even all) of the sisters compositions is music as it should be imo. Sure music videos can help tell the story of a particular song; producers and sound engineers are valuable to layering in an additional riff or sound effect; but the rawness of live performance, I think, is undeniable. The Warning kill it with their energy, expressions and, of course, the outstanding songs they present to us.
Pre-pandemic TW was sort of in the habit of visiting the Whiskey every January. I haven't seen any mention of a January show (or any 2023 shows) yet but you should keep a lookout for it. Suggest joining their Patreon if you haven't already, tickets for a Whiskey show will go extremely fast, Patreons get early access.
I haven't watched your reaction yet but I love the guitar solo on "Show Me The Light" and I'm predicting in advance that you will comment on it. Almost everyone does.
I love the harder stuff that they play but I wish they would come out with some newer stuff that sounds more like this. I think it's a shame that they appear to have gone away from using keyboards at all during their concerts. They Don't Really incorporate keyboards into a lot of their newer material so who knows if we will ever see the keyboards come back.
I loved your look into the camera and the "You know." when you heard Ale's bass run in "Show Me The Light". That made me chuckle. Along with the fact that you didn't hardly pause at all during the song. Believe me, I understand. Loving your reactions.✌✌
The Warning Army Argentina. The Warning for ever.
These songs are usually overlooked by people. Its amazing to me how these overlooked songs would be most artist’s biggest hits!!! And they wrote them while in their preteens which is even more bonkers both musically, lyrically and thematically. Most of our rock heroes wish they could write something as good in their prime.
I saw them in Salt Lake back in April with my boys and they were playing at a pretty tiny venue. They blew all my expectations out of the water. Amazing talent and tremendous performers. Ale’s swagger on stage is something else and all of their energy is infectious.
Amazing reaction, hardly anything needs to be said. It was all in your face. Both of these songs would be the greatest songs written by most songwriters. Pau has so many of these in a fairly short time period. Just brilliant. Great song choices for a reaction! Love it
Pau was reading the newspaper one day when she was 13 years old. The article was about the serious problem with addiction. So pau sat down and wrote a song about it. Such a talented band.
Congrats on the 1K subs Cheezy , Black Holes is an amazing song and the intricacies of Show me the light is brilliant. Do yourself a BIG favour and watch Pau covering Creep by radiohead, I promise you sir you will not be dissapointed. Tee it up and start your camera , that is a reaction we ALL would love to see :)
Beautiful reaction. Beautiful songs. Beautiful souls. Such emotional songs. I was familiar with Black Holes, but I'd never heard Show Me the Light before. Oh my god, what amazing talent. And Dany's guitar work! So understated, and so powerful. I've been saying for a while now that her guitar skills don't get the attention they deserve. It's not virtuosity. It's what serves the song. And these young ladies seem to know exactly what that is.
Pau has another beautiful song on the piano that he plays in a show at his high school in Monterrey ESCAPE THE MIND another great song, Pau is undoubtedly a genius of composition
You've yet to react to the songs where Ale sings.river soul red hands and hunter.she recently did an interview where she said she doesn't like to sing lead and probably won't on an album so theses are the only ones.
Dude you shall check more of this Dakota bar show, the sound was pretty good, they've played all their first album and one it two from the first EP. Plus in between songs they chatted with the audience and talked about their experiences going to study to Boston AND.... Also talked about all those people from Disney, The voice, and many more shows that came and takes to them and tried to change them.
Paulina wrote Black Holes when she was 13- a song about addiction. That would have been 7 years ago! I always love to see reactors reactions on Show me the Light when Dany's soft and melodic solo comes in. It is so simple, yet amazing. I also am so proud of Ale's singing parts at the end of both songs. Those little parts made such a big difference to the sound of both songs! I saw them at the Machine Shop (Flint, MI) in May of this year . That venue was just as small (or maybe smaller). I was front row about 8' from Ale" all night and just mesmerized by her playing and her facial expressions! Several times Dany worked her way over and I got some amazing photos of the 2 of them so close I could reach out and touch them!!! 🤘🤘🤘⚡⚡⚡😍😍😍
Most of their headlining shows on their US tour in the Spring were small venues. I was fortunate to see them in Tampa, FL in May. The stage was very small.
I got to see them back in May in Seattle in a super Tiny Tiny club , maybe 125 people there that night , it was loud , sweaty and totally awesome 🤘🤘, going up to Vancouver BC to catch them again at the 2,765 seat Queen Elizabeth Theatre LOL cannot wait should be rockin hard !!
Black Holes is written by Pau. She wrote it when she was 13, after reading about a mans addiction in the paper. I like Pau´s voice and all the power she puts in the song, and I also love Dany´s guitar, she actually plays both lead and rhythm at the same time.
The girls played mostly small/intimate venues on their Spring and Summer tour on the dates where they were headlining their own shows. I was lucky enough to see them twice this year in intimate settings. Best concert experiences i have had since i was a teenager. I think that, unfortunately (Fortunately for DPA), that won't be the case anymore when they tour the U.S. and Canada. They'll probably be in small to medium arena venues moving forward. I am hoping that when they finally get to Europe, they'll play smaller clubs to introduce themselves to those audiences/countries. Am strongly considering heading over to catch a date when they go. Will catch some culture too. ;-)
Both songs are on their debut album. I love the debut and when I open up the gatefold and see these three very young girls, I ask myself how is this even possible? They are that good and have always been so good. I guess it's part natural talent, part intelligence, their musical training and teachers and dedication and love for the music. It's a perfect storm of everything coming together for them.
She absolutely made that song what it is. It's one of the only ones that has just her name in the writer's credits. It's at the top of the pile for songwriting in my estimation. Another great reaction 🤘😁👍
During their Mayday tour the venues where they headlined were mostly smallish - some were very small places like 500 people. I don't think that will continue for long into the future, though. They're at the strange stage where in larger markets they will sell out clubs with 1000 to 1500 capacity but in smaller cities they may draw less than 500 in a place that might be able to sell 100 tickets. They word is getting out there, though. I think they are going to Europe next year, at least to the UK. They'll probably do smaller clubs there, as well. But if they release another album like Error and grow their reach through airplay and rotation on Sirus/XM, they may start routinely selling out 2000+ capacity venues in the States. They can already do that in Mexico.
Most of their headlining shows in the US were in smaller venues (even though they deserve to play larger). If you get the opportunity to catch one of those shows, take it (and take little Cheezy with you)! Dany may not play a lot of solos, but when she does, they are always memorable. 😎👍
We appreciate your thoughtfulness when reacting to The Warning. Yes, they still do a lot of small venues on their tour. I saw the in Boston at a small club (about 500 capacity). It was an amazing show. The ladies give their all whether they’re in front of 500 or 25k people. I can’t get enough. Keep it coming Cheezy. And thank you.
The Warning can rock your socks off or rip your heart out with their song writing abilities. The talent in this band is on a genius level. Buckle up everyone. We are all in for a hell of a ride.
PAU, what an excellent interpretation of BLACK HOLES and SHOW ME THE LIGHT, PAU is a complete musician, Pau's great capacity for composition is unbelievable, excellent lyrics and intelligent messages, Pau the new genius of Rock, there is no one who interprets and composes like Pau and his volume of composition is enormous, I love the music of Pau and TW
Two songs that never will be old. Great that you checked them out. There is one additional song, though not slow, form Dakota bar well worth to check out, Exterminated. Then you have Copper Bullet to enjoy. You can take the one from the Lunario show as Pau is singing there instead of Dany for Dany to rest her voice. You'll find both on the official RUclips channel. on top of that there is a "Pau alone with the piano session from home" where she sings three songs, Black Holes, Stalker and The End. Also to be found on their official RUclips channel. Staying 🧀 🧀 🧀 🤘👽🤘
Both from their FIRST album. They are creatively wise beyond their years. There is not really a bad song on that album. Ale channels her inner Jaco Pastorius on that second song. The music fits the lyrical brilliance. These kids can play everything from quiet ballads to stadium rockers bordering on thrash metal. It's about time they blew up.
I saw them May 6th and 7th in Reading and Philly during their Mayday tour both on stages of similar size. Both shows are on RUclips. Also saw them in Baltimore and Scranton with Halestorm. Bigger stages but only 35 minute sets instead of the 65 or so minutes when they headlined
When I hear these songs and specially show me the light when Dany do the solo at the end, I don't know why I imagine them playing in a big Pink Floyd like style of show, where they can play a really long set list including those that won't likely be played live any time soon. I guess anybody can dream on the perfect show right?.. but for now, I'm really enjoying the ride.
*Sad 😥 Facts:* Dakota Bar doesn't exist anymore. It was torn down & something else was built in it's place. *Fun 🤩 Facts:* Most of the The Warning's U.S. Mayday Tour 2022 headliner shows were in intimate venues. With festivals & supporting established acts. The Warning played in stadiums (GnR / Foo Fighters), amphitheatres & medium venues. Their time is coming when they will be the headliner at larger Venus. They just got a taste of it.
I've always found it hard to describe what kind of a song Black Holes is; it's sui generis. It's not a hard rock song, and it's not entirely a ballad eit I hope that at some point they add more songs from XXI Century Blood to their set lists. Obviously right now they're trying to promote Error; even at headline shows, they only play a few songs from XXICB (When I'm Alone and Survive), but the rest of the album is outstanding and highly varied, and at some point I hope they do more to show the rest of the world how deep their body of work really is. The guitar solo in Show Me The Light is classic Dany: lyric and emotional. It doesn't look very challenging technically. I expect that it's probably much more difficult to play well than it sounds. The songs certainly vary in character, but not in quality.
While these two songs were from their first album in 2017, there are two more "slow" songs on their recent release from this year, Revenant and Breathe. There are no live recordings of Breathe, and Revenant was only played live during their two recent Mexico City dates. For now there are lovely lyric videos for these two: Revenant => ruclips.net/video/bTzjJNgAlTk/видео.html Breathe => ruclips.net/video/hrQZ9UJaqd0/видео.html
I believe Pau has said that they will never play Breathe live; it's too personal for her. 23 is another slow, emotional song, and Amour, while not as slow, is in the same vein in many ways.
@@robertkrawitz8237 That note about Pau and Breathe speaks volumes to just how personal that song must be. We should be grateful she felt she could share it at all. Maybe one day she'll decide she can sit at the piano, in front of an audience, close her eyes and let the emotion that is tied to it go. It isn't easy being creative and vulnerable.
@@iNsTaNtpUdDiNhEaD OK grammar police, I do see it but that's very subtle. As for the actual song, I'm wondering if she recorded herself playing it to maybe share some day.
@@NoSmokingDogs lol It does change how it might be read. As much as I would love to see a video of when she recorded the song, I am not holding out a lot of hope, though you never know.

I've seen many many metal and rock concerts (Iron Maiden, Kiss, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Journey, Twisted Sister, ect...)since the '80s...The Warning are my favorite performers by far.
I'm so glad you *didn't* spit. I was standing right in front of Dany!! lol
Powerful Pau passion !
🔥👸🔥 🤘
You know 😉 🧀
🙋⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥
Their musicianship all around is superb. That solo Dany performs is just amazing. Ale's baselines are sublime. Pau's vocal delivery - fabulous.
Listen to "Shattered Heart" same concert.
My favorite go to video for Shattered Heart, is at this show. 🔥
Maybe the prettiest breakdown they've done.
I've got to say I prefer Shattered Heart from The Whiskey - possibly the last time they ever do that fan favorite song live.
@@jameschisholm7131 That is also an amazing performance. 🔥
Pau is a monster song writer/lyricist. She's is rocketing toward the top echelon.
These are both brilliant songs aint Pau genius like with her lyrics ,The Warning easliy best 3 piece in the world !!
Indeed 🤘😎⚠️
I saw them in Salt Lake back in April with my boys and they were playing at a pretty tiny venue. They blew all my expectations out of the water. Amazing talent and tremendous performers. Ale’s swagger on stage is something else and all of their energy is infectious.
Amazing reaction, hardly anything needs to be said. It was all in your face. Both of these songs would be the greatest songs written by most songwriters. Pau has so many of these in a fairly short time period. Just brilliant. Great song choices for a reaction! Love it
Thank you BH!
Pau was reading the newspaper one day when she was 13 years old. The article was about the serious problem with addiction. So pau sat down and wrote a song about it. Such a talented band.
Show me the light, Revenant, Breath, TW's depth of composition. I love the guitar solo in Show me The Light. TW are just phenomenal.
You FORGOT!! You forgot to make sure he knows to watch the video to the very end!
AND P.S...watch all the way to the end :)
Pau's proficiency in her second language has me wondering if I actually can claim to have even one language.
That's awesome!
hermosa composición y excelente interpretación de ambas canciones... THE WARNING las diosas del ROCK!!!🤘🤘⚡⚡
I saw them at the Marquis Theater in Denver (they have pizza!). I stood directly in front of Dany.
Will catch some culture too. ;-)
Their compositions are exceptional and the emotion in the delivery is something else.
Thanks Daniel!
YAAAAAAY told you these were great Cheezy! SMTL is my favorite The Warning song hands down
Buena reacción. 🤘🇲🇽🤘🇲🇽🤘🇲🇽 El solo de Dany en show me the light está de 💯
✊ to us the warning army! very good reaction! thanks
Congratulations on reaching 1,000+ subscribers, Sir! You 'da man'! 😁
Thank you Lou!
The Warning can rock your socks off or rip your heart out with their song writing abilities. The talent in this band is on a genius level. Buckle up everyone. We are all in for a hell of a ride.
100%
PAU, what an excellent interpretation of BLACK HOLES and SHOW ME THE LIGHT, PAU is a complete musician, Pau's great capacity for composition is unbelievable, excellent lyrics and intelligent messages, Pau the new genius of Rock, there is no one who interprets and composes like Pau and his volume of composition is enormous, I love the music of Pau and TW
Ales timing and vocals coming in the end, amazing.
Stayed Cheezy all week...🙂 (Don't forget to check out GFM with Wehre were you..... and of course Jinjer with Pisces live session in the studio.... if you do not know this song it will blow your mind...poooooffffff)
I couldn't stop crying seeing your reaction Chezyxyz! Black Holes is a masterpiece 🙌🏻 And Show me that the Light is also very beautiful 🙏🏻 I look forward to the day they play them live again! ⚡️
My recollection is that Pau was about 14 when she wrote that song.
Don't stop with the Dakota Bar just yet. More great songs from this concert, from their first full length album XII Century Blood. Here's a couple more that you may not have heard. River Soul- ruclips.net/video/tNHwhCuzbD0/видео.html Exterminated- ruclips.net/video/zsgmwbJvgKI/видео.html
Richard, absolutely. Has Cheezy seen Unmendable? Not a soft one but man...those harmonies!!! ruclips.net/video/VuOBMQCtatM/видео.html
Do not forget about "Shattered Heart"!
@@mt4design2 He has done a reaction to the Tedx where they played Unmendable, When I'am Alone and Survive.
Yo yo!! How are you doing CHEEZE!🧀🧀 Great 2 master peaces 👏 👏 👏 brotha speaking of acoustics, you have to check DULL KNIVES (acustic version) Danis voice sound so beautiful and Pau omg shes so talented with the piano ,they performed the song im talking about at the living room of their house ,love you brotha and i love watching your reactions always !!
Other great Pau songs on piano to react to: Escape the Mind at Liceo and love her cover of Creep
Good video! 👌🏼🇲🇽
Goosebumps
that's what set them apart from their counterparts , their music and song writing , I can listen to their whole 3 album without skipping a song
Man, those are great songs alongside with River's Soul, you must check that one too🤘⚡👍
Song about addiction, she wrote young. Yes they still play small venues
Quite possibly my favorite Dany guitar solo out of their entire catalog.
Same for me! 😉🎶
@@sylvieouellet212 I do not personally know you, but you are obviously a person of great taste! 😉
@@reactionsaccount3955 😉😁🎶
It's not a hard rock song, and it's not entirely a ballad eit
I hope that at some point they add more songs from XXI Century Blood to their set lists.
Hadn’t heard Show Me the Light before. That bass tho😮😮😮😮 Both songs would work great in the middle set.
Ale's bass line is 🤌🤌!
🎉🎉🎉❤
While these two songs were from their first album in 2017, there are two more "slow" songs on their recent release from this year, Revenant and Breathe. There are no live recordings of Breathe, and Revenant was only played live during their two recent Mexico City dates. For now there are lovely lyric videos for these two:
Revenant => ruclips.net/video/bTzjJNgAlTk/видео.html
Breathe => ruclips.net/video/hrQZ9UJaqd0/видео.html
You missed a comma after "Breathe". Paulina has never performed, and will never perform, "Breathe" live.
If you wanna watch something really cool, check out the video of Pau performing " Escape the Mind" live for her classmates when she was 9
That would be awesome! Thanks for the recommendation 🤘
They just did the mayday tour which were small venues. I some in Pittsburgh in couple hundred people it was great.
