Absolutely spectacular work! 315 is a gorgeous engine, the scenery is second to none and that long continuous shot from 7:31 to 12:54 is a cinematographer's dream!
Thoroughly enjoy watching these clips..... Trains and tracks and country etc. I ache to the bones to get my fix of 'country' and have been out... and will be out again doing some woodcutting tomorrow to get me back in good balance again.
I was along on this trip, aboard one of the Geese. 315 had real difficulties maintaining traction, especially after coming off the wye tail track. Folks were scavenging sand to help with traction. A great day, all told.
Beautiful! I'm making my first visit to the narrow gauge in June. I assume this is shot in 4K. I'm looking to buy an new camera before I go. What camcorder do you use?
From what I can tell, the engineer was only opening the valve on the whistle partially in the first few moves, giving it a lower tone, I think that's what Derek was noticing. Great video work btw, looks and sounds absolutely fantastic!
What a wonderful sight. Nice to see that beautiful loco pulling freight cars instead of tourists for a change. Good job. I loved it.
Love #315. Thanks 🙏
Great....good views.

what is the whistle at the very beginning of the video before they switched to the 5 chime?
315 had the same whistle during the whole event and throughout all the videos I shot so I'm not sure wha you're referencing
